Showered

Why are my fingers cold
When they trace the back
Of your neck and up under
Your hair? It is smooth and pitch
And I wish it were my own
To push behind my ears
Before falling over your eyes.
Willing, asking it to stay.
Where it stayed...
Your shoulder now holds the ends
Fresh from washing, shiny and wet.
I rest my palm there then drift
Down your arm to your elbow,
And pull you into me. To find a way
To warm my hands that you find
Already warm and willing to stay.

Moonlit Night
Tu Fu

Translated by David Hinton

Tonight at Fu-chou, this moon she watches
Alone in our room. And my little, far off
Children, too young to understand what keeps me
Away, or even remember Ch'ang-an. By now,

Her hair will be mist scented, her jade-white
Arms chilled in its clear light. When
Will it find us together again, drapes drawn
Open, light traced where it dries our tears?

SC, awesome to read you around here!

Jules, we don't have a holiday tomorrow.

And totally random here, but I just set off my Mom's house alarm by sneezing.

O_O

I'm waiting for the cops to show.

Nah, maybe not. She cancelled it our pretty quick. I mean, once she got over be scared shitless.

And on another random note, not sure how I feel about the show, Confessions of a Teen Idol.

I feel bad for those guys on that show. It's kind of sad. Especially Jeremy. He's got some issues. He's a good lookin' guy and I'm sure he's talented but gosh, he's got some screws loose. O_o

I ♥ Eric.

I totally did. I sneezed and it went whoooo, wooo, wooooo, except like louder than that, kinda like a siren, kinda like if were supposed to run for cover.

I ♥ Billy.

Right now David Baywatch is so mad he could melt someone with his stare.

I hear a dog barking...WTF?

So something kind of a bummer happened in anatomy the other day. Like I said, I like this teacher; he's doing a great job and he's very inspiring. However, he teaches really SUPERFLY fast. It's a little hard to keep up with him sometimes, though he insists that he's going as slow as he possibly can.

I understand his frustration. I realize that this is basic cell biology, stuff that he's been teaching regularly for years, and to him it must seem very easy.

Well, on Saturday I mentioned that I got a 95 on his test. In fact I was the only one who passed it. (Actually come to think of it, I think someone in the class got a 72. However if you are in the medicine program [which I am,] you have to keep all your grades above 80.)

Well, after the test we moved onto the next lecture and he was going and going and going, and I was even struggling to keep up with what he was saying. (He hands out lecture notes, but I write them down anyway because writing is how I understand things. Reading along is not going to help me. However, I'm the only person in the class who writes notes as opposed to just reading his ones.)

Towards the end of his lecture, the girl at the lab table behind me threw down her notes in frustration and said, "All I want to do is massage people!"

The professor looked a little bit taken aback, as you can imagine, and he was like, "Well... I'm sorry, but all I want to do is teach this to you."

She felt bad for her outburst and she apologized, saying that she was just getting frustrated because she wasn't grasping this stuff as quickly as she wanted to.

I get that, I totally do. Sometimes my brain feels like a sponge and it seems to get full after about three hours of lecturing. And the second I walk out of the door, I couldn't even tell you WTF we were talking about. My brain is just not that strong. I actually have to go home, sit down, and look at the notes again to even remember which subject we were on.

So I get the frustration, I just felt bad for him and for her when she had that outburst.

The professor in that class calls us "the skeleton crew+--the logic behind that one, I don't know--but he says it's because we're the only ones left in the class, we're the ones who didn't ditch. The class started out with 33 people and now we are down to 12.

It makes me feel pretty good that the bunch of us got this far.

Anyway, that's just what's on my mind tonight.

ergoproxy said...

Making fun of who anon? I wasn't making fun of anyone. All I said was rinse, and some anon thought they'd think I was making fun of her.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Kap did anything but I also don't think that BC realizes or understands what's going on. I also don't think Kap would care one way or the other. Same old story here it looks like....

Amyranth said...

Yep! Me as Eternal Sailor Moon.

Anonymous said...

Like I said, BC doesn't know what's going on. Some anon said "finally" when she left and then "blather blather" which was obviously a dig at her '(the porch)" and you said "rinse" .... everyone knows the name of her journal.... think of "the Fix".... Once again she did nothing to deserve it but whatever. She wasn't doing anything the rest of ya'll wasn't doing. Oh well.

ergoproxy said...

it'll be fun!

I love costume stuff and it was looking good, I remember the pics you showed

Anonymous said...

I remember the blather rinse repeat thing but I wasn't saying rinse to make fun of anyone. I don't do that. 12:12, go back and read the comments.

Amy, so you are definitely planning on finishing the SM costume then? Awesome. You'll look great I bet

And don't be embarrassed, despite the age, I love Sailor moon too :D

Anonymous said...

I have read the comments and that's what it sounded like but like I said.... BC probably didn't know what was going on. Think about it.

Amyranth said...

BC, I was hoping to finish it last year. And the year before that... and I didn't.

But THIS YEAR! I'll do it THIS YEAR!

*pumps fist in the air*

ergoproxy said...

when is the contest?

Anonymous said...

Amy, if you do finish it, post pics because I want to see it!

I read Shojo Beat, and some of the costumes featured there are really amazing. I know you can do it.

Amyranth said...

Ergo, the Expo is April 25th, at 4pm in the afternoon.

BC, I've seen some really good work at a lot of Cons. I hope I do well.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna run. I have to get up early in the AM to see a girl about a dress. It's going to be hard to keep the other two quiet... they're starting a band in the basement. O_O

From the last post,

We all know that some people think Mayo is Gerard. If that was true, there is no way in hell Kapu would be friends with him. She has said over and over that he is a tool. She has also said over and over that she considers Mayo a friend.

Oh yeah, that's ironclad irrefutable logic from Kapunua there.

Tired of this fuckin’ song, this losin’ game.

Gonna to it anyway
Can’t hear you now you’re too far away

Gonna drown out your voice

See it now the character was all wrong
Start with a whisper you’ll end with a cry
Rant all you want better listen for the sigh

for you tonight one of my all time favourite bands, seen them a number of times and have always loved their music and their quirky style
this is only 2 of their songs, I think I'll have to feature more, so I'll start from their earliest albums. I knew of them from their second in 1976, really started to like them buy their third in 1977

for you from the 3rd Diztrhthmia
Split Enz with
My Mistake
I went out to see if I could fall in love again,
That was my mistake.
That was my mistake.
I went out to see if I could raise a laugh again
That was my mistake.
That was my mistake.

When all I needed was a friend,
To make me stop and think again,
Pull me up and pull me through,
Tally ho, your health my dear.

I went out to see if I could live for a couple of days.
That was my mistake.
That was my mistake.
One by one I counted all those happiest of days.
Yeah, That was my mistake.
Why, That was my mistake.

Whats gone is gone, sweet memories,
Dont let them get the best of me,
No more lost in history,
No more lost for love.

When all I needed was a friend,
To make me stop and think again,
The call to arms is loud and clear,
Tally ho, your health my dear.

I went out to see if I could fall in love again,
That was my mistake.
Why, That was my mistake.
One by one I counted all those happiest of days
That was my mistake.
That was my mistake.
That was my mistake.

again from Split Enz, a really ground breaking band, I think quite far ahead of their time and still fabulous
from the second album Second Thoughts

Late Last Night
I saw you standing there at the bar
Your eyes were glazed with passion
A look of afar - A secret smile
I blew a few kisses
Said my name is Lyle

That love in her eyes (love in her eyes)
Heart to heart (heart to heart)
A tender goodbye (a tender goodbye)
Nothing could ever keep us apart
As you sipped your tequila
I knew I had to steal ya
Read like a book
Surprise that you took your time
Dig that rhyme

Gone, love took offence at the things I said
Good advice would be to go to bed
Rest my head, yeah
Catch 40 winks
While I dream about the things she said

Late last night, ooh yeah, late last night
She told me someone taught me everything I need to know, yeah
Last last night, late last night
She took my trembling hands and led me under the velvet sky
Rolling on the hill top playing Jack and Jill
Suddenly (suddenly) all was still, she was gone

She seemed so aloof
That's ninety per cent proof, with a lump in my throat
I grabbed my coat and ran, cornered again!
So I'll live for the moment and I'll take it as an omen
Gotta weakness for de women and de wine

Late last night, ooh yeah, late last night
She told me someone taught me everything I need to know, yeah
Late last night, ooh yeah, late last night
She told me someone taught me everything I need to know, yeah
Last last night, late late late late last night
She told me everything I know, know know...

Hi

I hope everyone is well. I have a fever and hurt all over. I will be back when I feel better.

I think I caught something at the hospital. My friend's baby has asthma and pneumonia. I had taken her to the emergency room early last week and they said she just had a virus and released her. She's now been there for at least four days.

I was her only visitor.

Poor sweetie.

Please get a second opinion if any of you find that symptoms don't go away after treatment.

I know its common sense but I thought I'd put it out there as I am so angry.

:(

Also my car is broken, again. At least I made it home.

Good luck must return, and soon, I hope.

PS - Orange anon - I will try to eat a tangelo later. Do you know if they are any good?

Take care of yourselves, guys.

and germ-less *HUGS* for you

i hope soon to be able to write you ridiculously long good nights again -- should i apologize in advance? *grin* -- but until that time please know that the thread is still on my wrist (it really is) and i'm still giggling at mayonnaise jars in the grocery store (btw, i recently saw a recipe for "princess mayo" -- mayonnaise flavored with maraschino cherries, interested? *heh*). i may be ecto, but still a resident of blogbelieve.
