tic-tac-toe

Nothing provokes me like someone trying to tell me what I can or can’t do. And I am not talking about “Eat your vegetables”, “Take out the trash”, "Don't run a red light", "Don't steal shit", or "Don't stick a knife in someone" (well maybe the red light thing, once). That stuff is important and I get that. What I mean is when someone is attempting to assert control over me, primarily for their own gains or because they consider my actions irrelevant, then I am full-on instigated.

In fact, I can be a bit immature when confronted with authority. A holdover from adolescence, I presume. For the most part, because I am an adult I am able to identify when the limitations being placed on me are legitimate and necessary. And I bite my tongue.

But, nothing pleases me more than to shove it in the face of whatever or whoever attempts to assert unnecessary control over me. Tell me I’m too old to do something, to act a certain way, then you can bet I’ll be first in line. Tell me what I say is irrelevant and I’ll carry on until I find an ear. Attempt to limit my behavior because you don’t consider me worthy and I’ll increase my efforts until you are red faced.

What amazes me is that they (those attempting control) do not understand that their assertions invariably expose their hot buttons. See, now I know what pisses you off and I can be an asshole, so there you go. But, like I said, I can be a bit immature.

Also, I find it unnecessary for someone to belittle a person because their opinion does not run parallel to their own. Typically, name calling will get you nowhere. We are each entitled to our own beliefs, and our opinions will undoubtedly run counter to other's. And if I don't agree, I'll let you know. I'll give you my point of view and perhaps some facts that I may have squirreled away for the occasion to back it up.

Usually this works and we can agree to disagree. But, if you are maliciously handing me my head over and over about whatever burns your ass, then I will most likely ignore you.

That works in two ways. First, I don't hear you any longer. I can continue my life knowing that I made an attempt to express my opinion. And hopefully you now realize you are not going to change mine. Second, I don't hear you any longer.

Then later, under my breath, I'll call you an idiot. And let's face it, if after all that you still think you can change my opinion...well now, we don't need to go there. Just for the record, I won't try to change yours, either. Your opinion, that is.

With all that being said, (and feel free to ignore any of it) please keep in mind that I am a bit of a smart ass. And I have been known to dish out a good natured hard-time. If you poke me, I'll poke you back...sometimes I poke first.

I think I read somewhere something along the lines of...we need to be able to best deal with those things that impact us emotionally, and we need to handle them ourselves. As individuals the decisions we make are what we can control. The rest is up to the rest.

p.s. ask yourself.

I'm thinking Mayo would sound like Keifer Sutherland in Phone Booth if you called and got his voice mail.

Kinda serial killerish. Kinda smirky-ish.

Just sayin'.

We're watching Footloose! For the ten thousandth time!

Oh, and hey, check this out:

LHM has written his first poem! I haven't read it yet but his daddy said it was good. Yay!

Smoke said...

Well, I woulda said Patrick Bateman but I don't wanna compare the dude to Christian Bale right now! Bwahaha!

MissTottenham said...

Yay to LHM poetry. Is it rude?

sdock10 said...

So, are you saying that Mayo flips between some weird American accent and some weird Britishy accent?

*ponders*

Yeah, okay, I'll go with that.

Fuckery excluded.

anima said...

*squeezes Smoke right back* awww, thanks sweetie. I love Footloose!

Will you post LHM's poem for us when you read it?! Please!

Mayo's voice, not so sure. I still can't figure out who he sounds like. Hmmmm.

Me too, Anima! I was like who cares about the Super Bowl, where is my ROL-Bus?

And, I gotta confess, I be loving me some Sober House even though I don't know if I want to smack Steven Adler or just give him a hug.

The sock stealer chick was whack!

I have to admit, my most favorite part of the show was when Lacy said "What up Skanks?"

Classic.

And if anyone knows me personally, I sit 'criss-crossed' all the time! But I still call it Indian Style. My husband is part Indian and he has never mentioned my use of the term. I guess we all got watch it these days. Seems like everything can be offensive.

Sometimes I just don’t have the answers and as much as I wish I did the truth is I’m not sure every question actually has an answer. Tonight was the Wake for the little boy. The church was filled to capacity, the sight of a small coffin heartbreaking. His little brother read a letter he’d written telling him how proud he was that he had saved another’s life. (his kidney’s were donated to the child who was suffering from kidney failure). The brothers had shared a room and he promised his brother that he would take care of their farm set. There was more but I can’t go on.

When Stormy came home she walked in then burst into tears. Now let me just say that Stormy isn’t a “crier”. She is a strong young woman and usually handles things very well but tonight she couldn’t. As I hugged her she kept saying “Why did this happen?” and “It’s just not fair.” I couldn’t answer why things like this happen but I do understand and agree with the fact that it’s not fair. However, life isn’t always fair. There is beauty and ugliness, love and hatred, and of course, life and death. When things like the death of someone so young happen all these things come into focus just a bit more. If we are lucky it makes us stop and realize we can’t take anything for granted. It makes us realize that what we hold dear can be taken away in the blink of an eye. And hopefully it makes us realize we need to live every single moment we have the best way we can.

Tommorrow is the funeral. Flightly is the singer for the Mass and for the first time in her life she is scared. It’s not that she’s never sung a funeral before. She’s sung many funerals and weddings. The first funeral she ever sang was her grandma’s. She was 10 years old and she sang it flawlessly. But tonight before the Wake she told me she had to get all her crying done tonight so she won’t cry tomorrow. I’m so proud of her for singing the funeral. When the family asked she told them she would be honored. Her gift is her voice and to share that gift in times of happiness and terrible sadness is how she shares that gift. I know in my heart she will sing like an angle tomorrow. She will be singing for a little boy who now has wings.

Night Mayo

More than this - tell me one thing

It was fun for a while

So you pick and choose what is OK for some people to say as long as you agree? And if not you think it's dumb. If an Indian came in and said they didn't like it you would say that was dumb I guess.

So..... tell me why is it OK to not like the word retarded but "dumb" to not like the term "Indian style"?

For the anons with bad knowledge

The 2000 U.S. census states that racial categories "generally reflect a social definition of race recognized in this country. They do not conform to any biological, anthropological or genetic criteria."[10] It defines "white people" as "people having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.[11] This also includes national and regional ancestries where these peoples contributed to the

Social definition

According to race scholars such as Karen Brodkin, in the United States, essentially anyone of European descent is considered white and Jews (presumably those of European origin, that is, Ashkenazi Jews) are also today considered white.[14] However, while the census asserts that "race" and "ethnicity" are separate, some Hispanics of primarily European descent may not consider themselves white and may not be considered white by others, possibly because of the long-held stereotype of Hispanics being given a non-white racial value.[15][16][17] Likewise, while people of Middle Eastern and North African descent are included in the white category in the census, studies have found that Arab American teenagers may sometimes construct identities that distinguish themselves from "white society."[18] Some American white people, mainly those of distant descent from multiple European countries, tend to see themselves as belonging to no ethnic group at all, but just "American".

The cultural boundaries separating white Americans from other racial or ethnic categories have changed significantly over the course of American history. Even among Europeans, those not considered white at some time in American history are the Ashkenazi Jews, Germans, Irish, Italians, Spaniards, Slavs, Greeks, and other European peoples.[19] David R. Roediger argues that the construction of the white race in the United States was an effort to mentally distance slave owners from slaves.[20] The process of officially being defined as white by law often came about in court disputes over pursuit of citizenship.[21]

Let's Stick Together

And now the marriage vow is very sacred
The man has put us together and you ought to make us
Stick together c'm on c'm on let's stick together
You know we made a vow to leave one another never.

Now you never miss your water till your well is dry
Come on now baby
Give our love a try
And let's stick together c'm on c'm on let's stick together
You know we made a vow to leave one another never.

If you're stuck for a while consider our child
How can it be happy without it's Ma and Pa
Let's stick together c'm on c'm on let's stick together
You know we made a vow to leave one another never.

If you're stuck for a while consider our child

sing along - ow ow ow ow ow aha, a*roll tongue*ripa, coo coo coo coo coowa!

SS
it is so hard to choose just one other song by Mr Super-Suave Ferry but this one was on the album I remember hearing earliest

Price of Love

Wine is sweet and gin is bitter
Drink all you can but you won´t forget her
You talk too much, you laugh too loud
You see her face in ev´ry crowd
That´s the price of love, the price of love
A debt you pay with tears and pain
The price of love, the price of love
It costs you more when you´re to blame
Kiss one girl - kiss another
Kiss them all, but you won´t recover
You´re dancing slow, you´re dancing fast
You´re happy now, but that won´t last
That´s the price of love, the price of love
A debt you pay in tears and pain
The price of love, the price of love
It costs you more when you´re to blame

sing along, in a very smoooooth way

goodnight blogbelieve, see you in my morning

morning everyone!

hey mayo i swear when i look at your interests i totally read one of them as impotence!! i'm like, WTF! too much info! and coming straight after Gossamer!!!! haha! (sorry).

hope you are doing good mayo? have a great day!

SS you too wherever you are these days, hope you are happy and well!

hello to everyone!

night ergo!

wendy, so glad your mum is out of hospital.

elena, thinking of you and your family and the little boy's family. it's going to be such a tough day. *hugs* to you.

I'm thinking Mayo would sound like Keifer Sutherland in Phone Booth if you called and got his voice mail.

shit that would be too good! Keifer has such a super smexy voice! i love that film!

right that's me!

oh i thought of one song for my musical of my life. solly you can have this one too if you want, i remember leaving it for you at the porch when we were both going through some shitty times with our other halves.

i guess this song would probably be in everyones' musical of their lives.

seeya guys, have good days!

hi PJ!

*waves* to PP! miss you!

farawaysoclose said...

would = could, obviously!

how very presumptive of me! none of you have to have that song at all! i was kinda thinking that probably all of us have been through those relationship difficulties. the ones where you fall asleep clinging on to your side of the bed trying not to fall out, but not wanting to have even the slightest bit of body contact with them!

sad.

right i just refreshed and now i am a going to fetch my little boy from pre school! and i am late and i will be running as always!

sdock10 said...

I remember that song, FASC. I definitely know exactly what you mean about clinging to the side of the bed. I would be sleeping on what seemed like 6 inches, back turned to him, covers up above my nose, trying not to sniffle, because if he heard me, he would have known that I was crying. Oh, good times!

Elena, I'll be thinking of yours and the little boy's family today. My heart goes out to all of you.

Ergo, sweet dreams! Cook up something nice!

Mayo, 'sup?

Guys, let's try and make it through this one so we can get to the next one, okay?

Smoke said...

Yep, Elena. We'll all be thinking about you, your daughter as she's singing and that whole family today. I don't think any funeral is easy to go through but a child's funeral, well, there's just something extra-extra hard about them. Makes the whole world seem off, unfair and dark.

It makes me appreciate all those little wrestling men strung all over the house even more today. It makes me appreciate walking across the entire school with him to class because he still wants me to even more today. It makes me appreciate him even more today. Because God knows, I don't know what I'd do without him.

Have a great day, everyone!

See you tonight.

Good morning/afternoon/evening Mayo, SS, FASC, Ergo, Sweetcheeks, Elena, Amy, J, Mya, Carrie, Sdock; various anons, watchers and lurkers; everyone of every race, size, color and creed in the land o'blog!

How are you all this a.m./p.m.? Happy, well, warm and satisfied, I hope!

Thanks, again, to everyone!!! The kind thoughts, wishes and support mean more than you know.

Mom is continuing to improve. She is (and I am) very grateful for all the abovementioned things!

*another group hug*

I have some special treats this morning. I've been wanting to post these "special" pictures since I've returned from Finland...
but, I've been just a little busy and preoccupied! Please forgive my special picture posting tardiness!

For MAYO, because we've all heard he likes the light

Honestly, I don't ever remember him saying that. I also don't remember him ever saying he was a he! I suppose all of that could have been been said when I was in Houston (or elsewhere). I'll just go with the flow and trust the information is accurate! Anyway, the photo does remind me of "him" !

For SS.
Not that I think SS is cold and icy! Again, it just reminds me of him. Maybe it's the name of the place.

Or, maybe it's the sushi. Who knows?!

For SWEETCHEEKS/BC. Remember those sacrifices you, Martha and I made? It seems they found the evidence ~ in Finland!!! We must find a safe house!
;)

For Amy! Because every queen needs a proper throne. The High Priestess of the (Damned) Universe insists!
:)

For ERGO. I think the reason is quite obvious!
*smooooooooooooch*

For J and L. I think they might appreciate it! I know I did! *wink*

For Lewis. Because I KNOW she appeciates it! Again, as did I!

For Mya. A music room. The video is on the way!

For MIRANTH. No sharpies allowed!
;)

For Elena. Because you seemed to be as awestruck by Uspenski Cathedral as I was!
*huge hug*

MissT:

This one is for you. Again, I don't know why. I just thought of you when I saw that gorgeous building!

Okay, I could be here all day doing this. I'll just post the links to the photo albums.

FASC:

The Dollhouse is for you!
POSSUM: The moose (in his holiday finest) is for you!

In conclusion, I thought of my friends while in Finland and I just wanted you all to know!

Have a great day, everyone!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

This one!

Despite expectations, desperate situations
Tooting beck to the west end
It's a long way to go when you play Rock n' Roll

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, was I dreamin'
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, the crowd was screaming’
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

This one's for rock n' roll
For everyone who's made it roll along

This one's for rock n' roll
From Chuck Berry to the Rolling Stones

The moonlite club, six tickets sold
We still rocked and we rolled
Then the future came to pass
All those wasted years were never meant to last

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, was I dreamin'
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, the crowd was screaming’
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

This one's for rock n' roll
For everyone who's made it roll along

This one's for rock n' roll
From chuck berry to the rolling stones
From Little Richard to the Ramones

This one's for rock n' roll
For everyone who's made it roll along

This one's for rock n' roll
From Chuck Berry to the Rolling Stones

This one's for rock n' roll
For everyone who's made it roll along

For MAYO, because we've all heard he likes the light

Honestly, I don't ever remember him saying that.

Your right Wendy. He never did say that. It is something that Kapu keeps on insisting. She likes to pretend they "share" something. Don't play into her hands.

Anonymous said...

I'm actually a bit tired of Kapu doing the "light" thing to Mayo to be quite honest. I do think it's pretentious and..... really stupid considering he never even said anything about it.

Anonymous said...

Mommy, where are you? I can't find you. I can't. I'm afraid of the Light, mommy. I'm afraid of the Light.

Anonymous said...

Unfortunately the "light' thing is true. Mayo says it in the 'protagonist' post a few times to Kapu. I think it started in the post before that too. I say unfortunately because to be honest I always found it a little annoying.

If you believe Kapu in this post
http://tohellwithyouandallyourfriendsitson.blogspot.com/2008/03/will-you-weave-light.html
then he asked her to write a poem about the light for him too.

(USE HIDE MY ASS, Kapu has a stat tracker).

I actually believe that was Mayo who asked her to write that poem because... just look at who is commenting there. GV. This only firms it in my mind that GV is indeed Mayo. The protagonist post was TO Kapu. Married men don't talk to other women like that..... but people who are in love with women do talk like that. I'm not trying to be embarassing but I truely feel that this is GV talking to Kapu. However I think GV/Mayo has gotten over Kapu lately and focused on other people to keep up the charade.

This makes me feel really sorry for the women here who truely believe in Mayo.... Truely believe that he is GW and not GV. Elena, the OPS, Toujours and the many others who still talk to him like they are his fans. The OPS knowing his "secret". If they knew it was really GV I think they would be crushed. I'm just one of those people who feels this game has gone n too long but if GV told them now who she was then lives would be crushed and feelings hurt. I think the OPS really do think they know Mayo's secret and that they truely believe this secret is that he is Gerard Way. I don't think they were saying that to start trouble. I believe they think this in their heart of hearts.

And I've seen how Mayo constantly choses the side of the non fans over the fans or, fan girls if you will. Gerard would never ever behave like that. He would chose the people he knew loved him.

The only person who would constantly pick Kapu and Sdock is the one person who loves them. The person who loves the "light". The person with all the issues.

GV.

Kapunua,

I miss you too.

I am looking into getting internet at my apartment shortly.

Your picture is so fucking gorgeous.

Sorry, I'm currently in love.

Anonymous said...

GV did admit that she was Mayo. This caused alot of confusion and hurt. She then said she wasn't Mayo. I think she got it right the first time. For me , i wouldn't care really. Alot of people would be hurt and that's the part i hate.

Anonymous said...

What I find funny is how every time a white power anon comes on, Mya is soon to follow saying 'by the way, that wasn't me because I don't even come here any more. GOOD BYE"!! It makes me laugh.

Anonymous said...

When GV first said she was Mayo I believe she was testing the waters to see how people reacted. A lot of people flipped out (the OPS fr example). There was hurt and confusion. That made GV realize she could never really tell the truth.

Anonymous said...

I think this blog just got out of control then. It's bigger than she expected and if you red her blog, you can tell she has issues of control and feeling like she is responsible for people's happiness. She is not a well person mentally. She can't see that it's just a blog. All she can see is that if she ended it or told the truth people would freak out. It's true that some people have staked their whole lives into her, thinking she is Gerard Way..... but remember she thinks she has a special connection to GW. In her mind, this might be the right thing to do.

Anonymous said...

you don't give the people here enough credit. they are strong women who wouldn't have their lives "crushed" if it is gv. there's hardly anyone left anyway. half of the ops are gone, elena has more important things to worry about, so does tj. these are people who have gone through a lot more than internet drama.

Anonymous said...

It was only when people pointed out how it was weird that both Mayo and GV were fawning over Kapu, using the same kind of language when they talked to her that Mayo seemed to back away from Kapu. She saw people were getting suspicious and could see the similarities so she focussed her attention on other people.

Anonymous said...

Exactly.

And I really DO think there would be a lot of drama. maybe the women have other things going on in their lives but they depend on "Mayo". At least some of them do. They talk about being addicted to saying their good nights. About how he is such a "good man" and such a huge part of their lives.

Just try to imagine if "Mayo" finally told them the truth. There would be massive hysteria. People don't like to find out they 've been made fools of. Esp. the OPS with their rants about knowig the "secret". They hate GV. They would be crushed. And they would know that SS wouldn't come around anymore. You know how they feel about Frank.

Like I said GV has issues of control. I think she feels responsible and doesn't know how to end it.

Anonymous said...

I saw that too and I always wondered about that. I used to like watching Kapu and Mayo become friends. So I wonder if that hurt and confused Kapu (the sudden backing off) or if she is a part of it and she knows it's GV and they communicate outside of the blog??

re the Mayo/GV thing, all i can say is they both have a beautiful way with words. but i still think mayo man is a bloke! i just do. he may not be, but he said he was in many posts so i'm just going with that.
