For old times sake...

Here is a little something I have learned. Or, perhaps it is inherent in my nature.

There is beauty in most every moment...life, and I mean all of it. Seriously, that is not to say that I can find a silver lining in the beating of an old man for his wallet, or the rape of a young girl. But, some of my more elegant words arrive from the ugliest of times, and I suppose the inverse is true, as well. Anyway, I think they are.

There was a ball, a strike, a kiss, and some much needed sleep.

We awoke to a quiet house that, after a few short hours, would be alarmed by uncertainty.

The phone call and waiting cleared my head. All I could consider was what I would miss if I was met with the loss of such a good friend. Those other things, my schedule, would wait. And, the wait was endless. I was anxious because I could not be there to hear firsthand the explanation, the reassurance. But I knew, I already knew why and how. What I needed to hear was that it had been fixed.

And it was. You are fine and I still have you to call when I need a laugh, to shoot the shit, or to find reason in things that make sense only to friends that have been there from the depths. We will have our once every chance we can get (which is not often enough) visits.

I will tell you again that you are my friend.

Still, I can’t let go of the feeling I had when I thought you were gone. In those few hours I was bombarded with memories built on some ten years time. I thought how fortunate I was to have had my life filled with your energy, your support, and all the trust I could ever imagine.

I paced while waiting to hear the news, and as I circled the floors over and again the strangest thought came to me; I would be okay. I have come a long way and I have you to thank for some of that. You give a good kick in the ass. And, there is something amazing in that.

Let's not forget the flood, the funk, the summers, and that high speed departure.

p.s. wherever he is, he’s all over the place.

I was over here in a corner, cutting the wrists of my sleeves, because even though I am Sad Emo Sad, I don't have enough guts to, y'know, actually cut myself. :/

I wouldn't either, plus I know who'd have to clean it all up! *sheesh* you just cannot be emo when you're the only one who appears to know how to use Spray wipe and a cloth!!

I'm so happy I was there that night. Even though it did mean missing HIM at Tavastia. I only wish I could have been two places at once. Alas (and sigh) I could not! Where was that clone machine when I needed it?!

Stormy, Flighty and Sunshine...

Well let see. I was just on the phone with Flighty. She is okay but in debt up to her eyeballs. (welcome to the real world)

Stormy is a bit under the weather at the moment and so is Sunshine but of course they both went out on dates tonight.

Oh and Monday is Sunshine's birthday!

Anon616 said...

Good grief!!! What the heck is wrong with youtube? It uploaded my first 8 videos without any problems. Why won't it upload the next 10 or so???

Elena: Can you ask Jake to stop destroying things, for a few minutes, and go fix youtube for me?
;)

Oh well... I guess I'll go work on resizing some of my photos. They're HUGE!!! :P

Goodnight Elena, Mayo, SS, Sweetcheeks (if she shows up later)... everyone!

Sweet dreams to one and all!!!

Goodnight Mayo and SS.

This is gonna be short and sweet. Well, okay maybe not sweet but short. I was just sitting here minding my own business when a headache suddenly hit me. I’m not talking a regular headache this is one of those monster ones. It’s sounds like 1000 tarantulas are tap dancing on a tin roof in my head. Ouch.

So since I’m sure that anything I write wouldn’t make sense (okay, sometimes what I write makes sense) I’m just gonna go flop down on the sofa and wait for the 800 mg Ibuprofen to kick in. Crap I hope it doesn’t take long.

Take care of yourself and know that if my head weren’t about to explode I’d add all that other “hope you had a good day” stuff. Not that I don’t mean it cause I do but then I’m pretty sure you know that.

Night Mayo

Elena (ouch)

elena said...

Oh and night Amy

Don't weep for the toast. It's gone to a better place.

ergoproxy said...

elena,
I had a darkly depressing time, though I managed to bury it deep inside behind a façade of light spirit.
I felt it would be wrong to share the trauma of the toast, bacon and my need for Mike Oldfield CD's, far better to keep it all within, to wallow in my own private pit of emo despair.
Plus the water would wash off my eyeliner...

Mayo
hope your week was a good one, the first full week of 2009ness. I am waterlogged, and really tired. Probably due to the swim and party I was at until after 1 am, and maybe the bottle of chardonnay (but then from 2 in the afternoon to 1 am that's not bad) it was lovely and I have a new MUSE friend, a girl I taught, admittedly she is only just turning 30 but she has always been a lovely person and I have said that when they tour again, I shall call her and we shall go together! :] We chatted music most of the night, as well as a few other things. I like parties like that, just friends eating and chatting. I hope you have had some enjoyable get-togethers over this season, and that you will have more through the year.
Wishing you friends, family, festivity and fun,
much love EP xx

SS
How has your week been? Hope you have found a lot to enjoy, reflect upon and remember in this first week of 2009. I hope that the people you care about are all well and that the year is productive and enjoyable. I have to feed my cats, they are staring at me, nothing like a cat stare is there? they have an intensity of gaze not matched by any other domesticated animal, a cow could stare at you for hours and you wouldn't care, you'd just think "why is that cow looking at me" and chickens! well they aren't bright enough to hold a gaze at all. A dog tries to use that "poor puppy no one has fed me for days" approach, or the tried and true psychic "give me what you're eating" stare, but a cat actually looks like they are planning some late night ninja style bodily assault on you while you sleep, just because they have an empty bowl and if you don't get up and rectify the situation tout suite they will carry it out. So seeing as I appreciate my sleep and don't wish my body to contain any more holes than it already has, I had best get of my ass and make with the tuna.
Wishing you appreciative pets, loving companions and the wherewithal to maintain them all
lotsa love EP xx

Good Morning;

I'm sitting in my room, listening to Rise Against, and patiently waiting to get to work. My shifts have been cut back since the Christmas season. Thank God because I don't think I could stand working 6 shifts a week, AND go to school, for very much longer. Plus exams are coming up in two weeks, so I need to crack down on the studying.

Anyways, finally, after a week, I'm not sick. It was a terrible sickness, and I don't even know what it was. At night, I'd go from super hot, to freezing cold. I'd shiver so much, my body would hurt. I couldn't keep any food down, and everything I tried eating, would taste extremely salty. I was weak, and always tired. But, right now I'm just thankful to be back to full health.

Did everyone have a decent New Years? Any goals for this year? I sure have a few. For 2009, it's my goal to save my money, and spend it on things that I NEED. I need to start saving for after high school, and even though I still have a year left to do, it doesn't seem like it's that far off.

Anyways, I'm just checking in, and letting y'all know how much I love ya and miss you, and how badly I'd love to just *HUG* you guys to the moon and back right now.

I need to get on here more! AHHH. lol.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!!

PH,

It's so fucking awesome to hear from you. I'm sorry you were so sick, but I'm glad you finally seem to be over it. Sounds like you have a lot going on, but what else is new? You always did have your plate pretty full. And somewhere in there, I hope you are remembering yourself and that you are, after all, just a teenager and deserve to have some teenager time too. You know, silly stuff, boys, crazy mistakes, staying up too late, and lots and lots of laughter.

We miss you around here.

Hugs to the moon and back and around the whole universe!

JocelynHolly said...

Solly!

I've missed you dearly! Yes, my plate has been full as usual, buut I think I sort of thrive off of the pressure and responsibility. I'm waiting to call a taxi to get to work right now. =/

I'm definitely remembering that I'm a teenager and to live my life. I'm kind of, sort of, maybe seeing my coworker right now. But that's a whole other story in itself.

What's new with you dear? If I don't reply, and leave to get my cab, then don't worry, I'll come back and reply. ^_-

Things are pretty much the same on my end, PH. Just trying to keep myself sane and stable for now.

Hey Elena,

What's shaking in Kansas?

I'm ripping CD's and gah, it's making me so nostalgic right now. I have stop in the middle and just listen to a song.

JocelynHolly said...

Solly, I know the feeling.

Guitar? I haven't taken lessons since the Saturday before Halloween. =( Unfortunately, I couldn't handle work, school, and lessons. Plus, they needed me for the Saturday's that I was taking lessons at work. I haven't practiced in a while, but when I do, it feels good to do something that I really love doing.

Elena, I've missed you too! How have you been? =)

Just called for my taxi, and they said it'd be here in 5-15 minutes. So again, if I don't reply, then I'm sorry. =)

sdock10 said...

Yeah, I understand, PH. Seems there just aren't enough hours to fit all of life in sometimes. I hope you don't stop playing though because you're very lucky to find something like that, that you love doing so much.

Gah, do I sound like I'm preaching to you? Trying to counsel you?

I should really stop now. Hahahah! You sound like you have your chaos under complete control.

sdock10 said...

Wendy, the photos are beautiful and you know I'm partial to the sunset one. Gah, now I want to travel!!!

Carrie said...

Loved your photos Wendy, why are foreign lands always with the looking prettier than what I see outside my window? I should do that whole "tourist in your own town" thing and try to make this place look more appealing with pics and such. And Solly, when Terry drove down to marry me, he was with his sister and brother in law, and they had a Bon Jovi cassette on repeat, so he probably gets an impending sense of doom every time he hears that band. :)

sdock10 said...

Carrie, I bet when hears Bon Jovi, he remembers that day as the day his life finally began.

Anon616 said...

Thanks Elena, Sdock and Carrie!!!

It really was so beautiful there. Let's all start planning a trip for next New Years!
;)

Elena: U think that Cathedral was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Wait until you see some of the interior shots! The artwork is amazing!!!

Carrie: That is a very good question! When I look out of my den window, I see my neighbors old beat up chevy truck! Now, some may consider that beautiful...
I do not!
;)

Sdock: I should have taken more sunset photos for you!!! I do have a few more I shall post. And, by the way, you really should get yourself a Tinker Belle!!!! They're hilarious!!

Okay, I'm off now. My niece and nephew are coming to collect their souveniers from Finland! I'll let ya'll know how the pronunciation goes.

One for the road:

Well, I think they're beautiful, LOL!!!

I'll ask again, how can you NOT love Hanoi Rocks and Andy McCoy?!

Damn, now I wish I had some in the house! Except that I would eat the entire jar in one sitting and make myself ill. It's better that I don't have it. ^_^

PH! Good to read you! I'm sorry you were sick. What a strange illness that sounds like, makes you wish for Dr. House. Well, I wish for Dr. House anyway, but. :D I'm glad you're better. :)

Guys, I was actually thinking of Splash last night, when we were talking about the MSI quotes about how boring real musicians are etc. and how she would have been all O____O over that. ^_^ I miss her.

I also miss Mayo and S(S)S popping in; although I suspect that S(S)S has been living up to his middle initial once in a while. ^_^

Solly, oh my gosh, watch Sweeney Todd! Or instead, come up here for a visit and I will act it out for you. I'll play all the roles and do all the singing.

Well, you know, I was going to sit down for some serious video game time because it's been weeks since I've really bonded with any video game, but now I think I should look over my chemistry notes again, because Chemistry is tuesday. ^_^

Hope to catch a few of you guys later!

be patient with the controls and the fighting system; once you learn it and you get into the game, it will feel for a few hours as if you're no longer a part of this one. It's almost like you have to travel back and forth. To me, that's what makes a game great. :D

Hi, Mya! That's so awesome about your Gran.

Just popping in out of boredom. If anyone can come and do my math for me, that'd be great.

sdock10 said...

Jules,

I don't even want to ask what kind of math you got goin' on.

What's up, Folks?

Anonymous said...

Solly, it's actually ridiculously easy by normal standards. But to me, they might as well ask me to build a rocket and send it to space.

I'm having a huge problem with this stuff they call "significant figures" and "non significant figures."

If they aren't significant, why did you write them in the first place? And then to sit there and tell me that 250 only has two figures, because I see a goddamn zero there and I know that means it's a hundred more than if it wasn't there.

WTF?

Anonymous said...

Prince Harry is a douchebag.

sdock10 said...

Oh, Jules, that does seem kind of silly. They've changed math up so much over the past 25 years that I struggle to help LHM with his homework.

He actually has to write sentences about math. WTF??

It's all supposed to make math easier or some shit, but I don't see how.

Smoke said...

What did Prince Harry do?

I'm bored!

sdock10 said...

Yeah, I heard about that stuff this morning on the news. He's always been a mouthy one, but hey, maybe he's changed. I dunno, but wasn't the video shot like 3 years ago? Back around the time he was dressing up as a Nazi for Halloween for kicks.

Hiya Ergo!

Jules,

OMG, dude on deathrow who had already eaten on of his eyeballs decided to eat his other eyeball this week. He's on deathrow for killing his family I think.

To say the dude has issues would be an understatement.

What color is your freak flag by the way?

Be back in a bit!

Anyone around? =)

Solly, I enjoy your preaching. Even though it's not really preaching. Lol.

Smoke, we always miss eachother by a hair!! I hope you enjoyed watching Jurassic Park. That movie gives me nightmares. 0.o

Kapunua, it was a strange illness, something I have never had before, but I'm just glad I'm better. ^_^

ergoproxy said...

a guy ate one of his eyeballs? Did he cook it first? lol
What an odd thing to do, but than someone who kills their whole family cannot be right in the head in the first palace.
Someone could do a psychological paper on his choice of removing his eyes.

ergoproxy said...

PH!! *HUG*

so glad you're feeling better

JocelynHolly said...

Hey Ergo!! *HUG*

Thank you hun. I'm a little pissed right now though, because my hours at work are getting cut waaaaay back. I just got off work almost 3 hours early. =( How are you doing?!

ergoproxy said...

oh what a pain!
though you sound like you have a heavy workload so maybe it'll work out for the best. I hope it doesn't cause too much hardship.
And you don't know what made you sick? I'm so glad you're over it now.

Anonymous said...

Good morning Ergo! Let your freak flag fly!

sdock's hororscope says she needs to let her freak flag fly! whatever that is it's fine by me. Sounds funny. Thought maybe we should join her. :)
Solly I'm a Libra too and I always try to embrace my inner eccentric ways. I don't know if others will but oh well. lmao

Anonymous said...

Heelo everyone.

PH!!! Hi!! Hope you are well. Hugs.

Eyeballs? Oh my he ate the eyeballs? Thats messed up shit. Gross!

ergoproxy said...

K
lol see you have the major fun of significant figures!
I remember kids saying the same thing you do (as I thought when I first did it too)
I think it's easier if you relate it to scientific notation, leading trailing zeros just allow you to see the scale of the number so they aren't significant as far as the value in relation to other numbers of the same scale, or am I just confusing you further? lol

Anonymous said...

Oh Ergo, there's just no current way to make it non-confusing to me, but I really do appreciate your effort! :D It's just I keep getting confused, when they say something like 25.0 has three significant numbers and 250 has only two, to me it seems the opposite would apply.

Not to mention that i have a hard enough time deciphering among 205, 520, 025 and any other combination therein. Oh my god, it's such a mess.

PH, I'd be so curious to know what your doc said, if you went to one!

Solly, my freak flag is PURPLE. ^_^

I'm going to go chill for a bit with a video game; I'll check back in! :)

ergoproxy said...

hello BI
nice to see you, I'm great are you well?

ergoproxy said...

K
250 has 2 sig figures as the 0 just tell you that the 2 is in the hundreds place and the 5 is in the tens place, all the 0 does is locate the decimal, it has no relation to the value.
however
25.0 has 3 significant figures as the 0 is specifically telling you that there are no tenths associated with the 25.

205 = 3 sig figures as it is saying there are no tens, any 0 between numbers is significant

520 = 2 sig figures

025 = 2 sig figures, as it would be if it were 0.025 as well

toujours said...

hello, everyone.

ergoproxy said...

but it all actually depends on how accurate you want to be, it is more to do with rounding off numbers than anything else, it gives you an idea of what importance they are placing on accuracy.

so 45 267
rounded to 2 sig figures would be
45 000 (they are saying the '267' isn't important as far as they are concerned)
to 3 sig figures would be
45 300 (the '2' is rounded up)

they just use sig figures to make data easier to read or use. To remove unimportant digits so you don't end up with numerals far more complicated than you really need.

I am well thanks ergo. Hope everyone else is doing well in this new year so far, so good.
Nice to see PH too.

Wendy stopped by. Sorry I missed her. Hugs Wendy. Sounds like your trip was fun!
I haven't been able to read all the back pages from this and Mayo's other post. I don't get to come on here very much these days and wanted to see how you were all doing.
I must go dinner is ready. Well I have to pick it up it should be ready at the pizza place by now.

Have a good evening and great week everyone. Take care. Bye!

I'm good thanks Tj, it's a rainy day but we are off to have lunch and a swim with my friends who moved over the country last year in a while. They are back for 2 weeks so I'm making the most of having time with them.
How are you?

toujours said...

oh that's good that you can have some fun times with them again.

tbh, things aren't going well for me. dark times. it's nice to be able to catch up a little here at blogbelieve.

ergoproxy said...

*actually a proviso to my 6:04 explanation, if 25.0 was to be written as 25, it would only be 2, the '.0" is only important if it is compared to other numbers with decimals or it's rounding off a string of decimals,
such as
round 25.02356478 to 3 significant figures = 25.0 as the 2 rounds down to 0

JocelynHolly said...

time for me say good bye, the clock is ticking out. good to have a chance to chat with you ergo, and you paperheart. :)

mayo,

i'm glad that your friend is alright. it's such a frightening thing to get bad news about a loved one.

and i agree with you about beauty. i've been having a hard time these last few days, really sharp times, and yet every day i find myself at this one park. it overlooks the waterfront, and i just stand there, in the wind and rain, watching the ferries tracing white lines across the water, watching the clouds and fog hide and reveal the mountains on the peninsula. when the wetaher is the owrst is when the ssound is the most beautiful. on the most blustery days the water is the color of jade.

sometimes, all we have is the beauty around us. i walk past the galleries in pioneer square and llok in the windows at the color and creativity inside. i don't belong in there, but i can always take a peek as i trawl the city for a job. it's only a taste, and sometimes it's too tart to lighten my spirit, but it's there.

always keep your eye out for the beauty around you mayo.

i'm glad you seem to be doing so well. this is another piece of beauty.

take care.

Damn it, I missed TJ! >_< Grr.

Ergo! You know, when you explained it like that, I sort of got it. That doesn't mean I like it or think that it makes any kind of logical sense (I mean, come on, I think that the zero at the end of 250 is important, otherwise it's not what it is!) but if them's the rules, maybe I can remember them the way you said it.

Thank you very much!

I have a few hours tomorrow between classes to try to study that and finish the assignments. So maybe I can have lunch, study, AND get a massage (because there is a school of massage in this college and it's only ten bucks if you're a student.) Imagine that? How neat!

Then, I have to go to Kung Fu directly from college so on Mondays I will be leaving my house at around 8 ish AM and getting home around 9:30 ish PM. God!

Anyway, TJ, sorry I missed you, and Ergo, thanks again. ^_^

Anonymous said...

hello 8:55, i am fine. how are you doing today?

Anonymous said...

i'm alone, yeah. :(

Anonymous said...

i'm alright as well, anon. sucks to be alone, i know. did you have a good holiday?

Anonymous said...

somehow it seems better to be unknown right now. more freedom, you know?

Anonymous said...

it was kind of depressing to be really honest. :( and you are so right, i like being unknown. more freedom, definitely. how about your holiday?

Anonymous said...

i like not knowing who you are. how we're just strangers (maybe not?) striking up a conversation. i wish i could do that in real life.

Anonymous said...

it was ok, little more difficult each year. it's how we survive, you know? kinda like now, without a name.

i was watching some of Dennis Leary's standup on youtube. have you ever seen his "coffee-flavored-coffee" routine?

Anonymous said...

i know exactly what you mean. i don't want to know either. sometimes having no history is good.

Anonymous said...

it's like you're reading my mind! but wouldn't it be so cool if we actually talked before and never knew it?

i haven't seen that actually, is it any good?

Anonymous said...

..?? :(

Anonymous said...

yes, we could be anyone and everyone.:) if we do know each other, we'll say "did you see that anon from earlier? that was me."

i loved Dennis's coffee routine. he has some great material. just enter his name in the you tube search and most of his routines come up. there's another line from someone that the true coffee addict shouldn't have to wait in line behind people ordering fancy drinks when they have a real medical need for coffee. he says "i'm pretty sure heroin addicts don't have to wait in line behind someone ordering a smackachino".

Anonymous said...

haha, cute. i like that. i promise to you that i'll check it out when i have the chance and i'll think of you as i watch. :)

hello, elena. how are you? you are one of those reasons, you know.

Anonymous said...

anon, just call me 8:55 for now. i'll pick a name at some point, i promise. it was great to talk to you too. thanks and bye!

Anonymous said...

i will. :) you can call me whatever you wish. just one last question. do you come here often?

Anonymous said...

not anymore, but i used to talk here often. i don't want to call you "alone", so i will call you "enigma". is that ok?

Anonymous said...

i really missed you. i hope you know that. good night, and thank you for the name.

Yes, Please Amy. I would love some!

Mayo

Well I spent the day trying to be a good daughter. I drove Mama to the grocery store and Target. Luckily she did not need cereal. You may remember the Great Quest For the Unfrosted Wheat Squares. I swear by the end of that crisis I had been convinced there was a conspiracy in the cereal world. Damn those breakfast food makers who forces the masses to eat wheat squares covered in frosting.

Anyway, there was no cereal on the list today. Just items easily procured. I figured at most I’d be gone for about an hour. But I was wrong. Then she needed to stop at Target for candy. Yeah, my first thought was that the grocery story had candy but when I mentioned that fact I noticed the look on her face. Then it dawned on me. She didn’t need to stop at Target, she just didn’t want to go home. Sometimes my inability to see things that should be apparent makes me realize what a selfish person I truly am. And when I got home today she called just to tell me she had such a nice day. I felt like a piece of shit.

My mom lives alone. She and Daddy were married for over 40 years. In all that time I doubt they spent more than 10 days apart. Think about it. They were always together. My parents had no friends. They had each other. They did everything together. They lived an incredible happy life. But Daddy is gone, going on three years very soon. Mama wakes up to an empty house and goes to sleep in an empty house. The only outside interaction she has is the few hours a day she works at the grade school. Yep, my Mama is a lunch lady. Still, she goes to work then comes home, to the same empty house.

So as I sit here I wonder why the hell I hadn’t seen she’s lonely before now. Why the fuck would I complain about spending the day with her? I do go over every morning and have coffee with her but what about all the other hours she sits alone? I’m not gonna lie – she does drive me crazy sometimes but she’s my mom and I love her. And who knows how many more years I’ll have her? Fuck, I don’t want to wake up one morning and think about the times she sat alone while I could have been spending time with her. Oh yeah, I’m feeling very guilty right now.

I guess the bottom line is this. There are only so many hours in the day but it’s important to make each one count. You need to make time, even when it seems impossible, for those you care about because time doesn’t stand still. But loneliness can make the hours seem endless.

Next time mom calls, (I always know it’s her because her ring tone is “Mama” by MCR) I’m not gonna roll my eyes. I’ll spend a few minutes talking to her because I’ve realized she doesn’t really want anything, she just wants to talk. And when she wants to go to the store I’ll take her to lunch too. And next time she needs cereal I’ll driver her all over the damn city looking for that most perfect of unfrosted breakfast foods because it will give us time to be together. It will give Mama time that isn’t spent alone.

Night Mayo

Elena

K just remember 'significant' is used in a way that refers to whether the value in the place is important, not whether it is there.

such as if someone tells you you owe them $4.85, you might just give them $5, because you round it to one significant figure, meaning the .85 isn't that important, the important figure become the 5.

or in a similar was you don't tell someone you are 5'6.23" you'd round it to be 6 as the .23 isn't significant, so it goes from 6.23 with 3 sig figures to 6 with 1.
it doesn't mean it isn't there, it just means that part of the number isn't the important bit

It is why a store will price something at $49.98 instead of $50 as it is the first figure that is significant (and you go to the one with the least no of sig figures if they are both of the same magnitude)

it means the digits that the most importance is placed on, and like I said it only really matters if it is say in comparison to something else or if you are rounding a number off,

So with say 500 the 5 is significant as the 00 tell you it is hundreds which is just locating the 5, but the 5 tells you there are 5 of them and how many is what is significant.

well Mayo you have a nice weekend? Mine was over yesterday but when you don't work outside the home it all kinda blends, plus I spent part of the day with my best friend who moved away last year. Always good, let the kids play together, they swam, I didn't feeling a little waterlogged by today lol. So what plans do you have for the week? I have to do some groceries, but I think we're taking the kids to the movies one day. It's nearly the only time I ever go. So hope you have a lovely week, and that you get in touch with people you may not have seen for a while, it's always good to reconnect, like you and elena have shown, you never know how much time there is so make the most of it
wishing you health, wealth and happiness
much love EP xx

SS you ahve a good weekend? I hope you did. Busy or relaxing? I had a busy one, but it was relaxing at times as well a good balance. Hope you find balance in all things this week
sending you faith, hope and charity
