What can I give her that she doesn't already have?

I recently received a text message from a very good friend:

“You watch grinch? What the fuck are they singing?”

I replied:

“Been a while: Ah-boo-doe-ray, Ah-boo-doe-ray. Or something like that. But what I really wanna know is why santa is such a dick to rudolph.”

This was my friends reply:

“Donner a dick too.”

And because I can’t let anything go without an overdone, unnecessary, crack-pot analysis, I replied again:

“Yeah, what up with that. Nice message to send kids…youre different and I dont like you, so fuck you until I need you to pull my sleigh. Then I like you. Santa almost push rudolph over the edge.”

My friend was probably thinking "Why did I even ask?"

But, yeah Santa is pretty much a dick to Rudolph. I believe he says something to the effect of "Pity, and he had potential, too.” And my friend was right, Donner was a dick. Desperate to prove himself a worthy sperm donor, he makes Rudolph cover up his depreciatory genetic mutation. Explaining to his son that there are more important things in life than comfort, like self-respect.

The message: If you don't fit in, you aren't worth shit. So suck it up until you either fit in or someone needs you for something.

And then everyone tries to take it back and pin the "reindeer of the year" award on Rudolph. Kids have to see through that.

(Clarice knew what was up, though. Right from the beginning she knew Rudolph was the shit.)

So, I say to Santa and the rest of the fuckers in this world...just because someone doesn’t fit your image of what “a something” should be you think that they are incapable? Not worthy? Without feelings?

"Just wait, and watch your back."

And, of course I had to look that shit up, so here it is:

Welcome Christmas

Fah who for-aze!
Dah who dor-aze!
Welcome Christmas,
Come this way!

Fah who for-aze!
Dah who dor-aze!
Welcome Christmas,
Christmas Day.

Welcome, Welcome
Fah who rah-moose
Welcome, Welcome
Dah who dah-moose
Christmas day is in our grasp
So long as we have hands to clasp

Fah who for-aze!
Dah who dor-aze!
Welcome, welcome Christmas
Welcome, welcome Christmas
Day

Mark Ruffalo's brother Scott reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The two suspects in the case, Brian Scofield and Shaha Mishaal Adham, were cleared by police after presenting evidence that Scott Ruffalo was playing Russian Roulette on Dec. 1, according to Adham's attorney Ronald Richards. Okay we all know I love Flighty. Bunches! So today when I get home from work I see her car in the driveway and I think oh great she’s here for a visit. Then I noticed her car was full of clothes. She’s decided to spend Christmas vacation here. Okay, that’s good. I mean lots more fights between the daughters but hey, I’m good with that. But now I’ve just found out she’s enamored with the group Chicago. Chicago? Seriously? She is blaring “Color My World” for the tenth time in a row. Help!!!!

Amyranth said...

Oh BLOODY HELL.

Thanks for the panic, here's a beer for your trouble.

*hands over an Alexander Keith's*

ergoproxy said...

elena you have GOT to not scare us like that!

ergoproxy said...

right...now I have calmed down I will go, swimming soon, yay!

elena said...

Sorry about that. But my head is pounding. And she happily told me she has every CD of theirs.

Oh crap...11th time for "Color My World"

At least if she'd play another song.

elena said...

Ergo I want to go swimming with you. Don't leave me here.

Amyranth said...

*passes over another beer*

Really, Chicago? The only song they did that I ever liked was "Amanda".

I think that was them.

God, in like, 20 years this will be the kind of thought I'll have towards my own daughter.

"Why, oh WHY, OH WHY, do we have to listen to 'I'm Not Okay' on repeat??"

mya said...

Hi Elena!

I know what will cheer you up! Go take a look at my Blog!

elena said...

Amanda was Boston. Wrong city. LOL

Amyranth said...

Elena, I tried. I'm more of an Eagles/Lynyrd Skynyrd girl myself.

elena said...

I've seen them 3 times, I think...

But, in a 30 year span of time, that really ain't sayin' much!

"Bah, humbug!" No, that's too strong
'Cause it is my favorite holiday
But all this year's been a busy blur
Don't think I have the energy

To add to my already mad rush
Just 'cause it's 'tis the season.
The perfect gift for me would be
Completions and connections left from

Last year, ski shop,
Encounter, most interesting.
Had his number but never the time
Most of '81 passed along those lines.

So deck those halls, trim those trees
Raise up cups of Christmas cheer,
I just need to catch my breath,
Christmas by myself this year.

Calendar picture, frozen landscape,
Chilled this room for twenty-four days,
Evergreens, sparkling snow
Get this winter over with!

Flashback to springtime, saw him again,
Would've been good to go for lunch,
Couldn't agree when we were both free,
We tried, we said we'd keep in touch.

Didn't, of course, 'til summertime,
Out to the beach to his boat could I join him?
No, this time it was me,
Sunburn in the third degree.

Now the calendar's just one page
And, of course, I am excited
Tonight's the night, but I've set my mind
Not to do too much about it.

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
But I think I'll miss this one this year.
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
But I think I'll miss this one this year.
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
But I think I'll miss this one this year.
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
But I think I'll miss this one this year.

Hardly dashing through the snow
Cause I bundled up too tight
Last minute have-to-do's
A few cards a few calls
'Cause it's r-s-v-p
No thanks, no party lights
It's Christmas Eve, gonna relax
Turned down all of my invites.

Last fall I had a night to myself,
Same guy called, halloween party,
Waited all night for him to show,
This time his car wouldn't go,

Forget it, it's cold, it's getting late,
Trudge on home to celebrate
In a quiet way, unwind
Doing Christmas right this time.

A&P has provided me
With the world's smallest turkey
Already in the oven, nice and hot
Oh damn! Guess what I forgot?

So on with the boots, back out in the snow
To the only all-night grocery,
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
In the line is that guy I've been chasing all year!

"I'm spending this one alone," he said.
"Need a break; this year's been crazy."
I said, "Me too, but why are you?
You mean you forgot cranberries too?"

Then suddenly we laughed and laughed
Caught on to what was happening
That Christmas magic's brought this tale
To a very happy ending! "

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Couldn't miss this one this year!
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Couldn't miss this one this year!

Well, I was never over-weight... And I really didn't mean to lose it... And I really didn't notice I had lost it either until my cousin on Thanksgiving asked me, "So, how much weight have you lost?" I thought, well maybe I've lost 2 or 3 pounds... Then, I checked the scales...

I will suggest it to her but she's singing at the top of her lungs right now...

Mya, probably not. He said he was drunk. He seems like one of those dudes that likes to goof off big time.

B, well, actually, he told me while on the "date" that one time he went to some party in the suburbs, and saw a few kids grabbing some kind of sombrero and setting it in the yard or something, and they started hardcore dancing around it, with all the punching, kicking, and flapping their arms that came with it.

I just lost it and started laughing so hard. Apparently, there's a youtube video of it, but I've been having trouble looking for it since they took it down.

While they continued the shanigans, it was mentioned that they started hardcore dancing with the sombrero on the roof. Lol.

Mayo

Oh dude where to begin? Yeah this ramble is gonna be about your post. I realize that for the past several days (okay more like weeks) I’ve been in very anti-holiday mood. I’ve done a lot of whining about not having any Christmas spirit. Woe-is-me, I’m sad, I can’t find any joy in the season ect, ect, ect. I think it took reading your post to make me see how stupid I’ve been acting. You took several beloved Christmas classics and pretty much twisted them. Now I can see your point. Yeah, Santa did throw a smack down on Rudolph. He did sorta treat him like an outsider, as did the rest of those reindeers playing their stupid games but in the end he came to appreciate old Rudy for his unique gift. See the happy ending came into play. Same with the Grinch. He was a mean one, that Mr. Grinch. But Cindy Lou Who could see the good in him and how did it all end?…Come on, you know….a happy ending. Yeah, the whole good over evil thing. That was the whole point of these stories. In the end good triumphs. Rudolph is accepted and loved and so is the Grinch. You my friend, stopped halfway through the stories. You got stuck on the negative and never reached the positive.

Okay about now you’re probably wondering just what color the sky is in my world. Do I really think that in real life happy endings are the norm? Well, I hate to say it but yeah, deep down I do. I know I can get so mired in shit sometimes that I let the negative aspects of things completely overshadow my thinking. Like not having Christmas spirit. Well if I don’t have any Christmas spirit I have only myself to blame. I can watch a hundred holiday movies, read a hundred Christmas cards and listen to a hundred Christmas tunes but if I don’t let myself out of the dark place then it ain’t gonna mean shit. But here is the most important thing. I’ve been looking at it as if not having holiday cheer was my cross to bear. Well, that’s just wrong and that’s just selfish. The way I feel doesn’t just affect me, it affects those around me. So if I’m all pissy and bah humbug I’m not just hurting me, I’m hurting others. That thought makes me want to smack myself up side the head. Life is what you make it. Plain and simple. Shit, Mayo sorry but I’m on a roll.

So dude suck it up and enjoy the season. Rudy turned out just fine, Grinch turned out just fine and so will you. You know you only get one chance at this. Next year who knows where you’ll be in life. Things can change so quickly. ENJOY the holiday. Don’t look at the negative, BE positive. And no, I’m not doing an infomercial for a new self-help book. I just know in my heart that if we don’t look for good, if we don’t strive to find happiness it will never find us. Okay feel free to roll your eyes at me. Still, I had to say what I think.

Night Mayo

Elena (tomorrow I’m filling the Salvation Army kettles)

goodnight and sweet dreams elena
and BC

well we had a lovely swim, though there isn't a vast quantity of water in the creek, lying back in the water sure was more pleasant than being in a lot of other places

Mayo
I hope you can put aside your cynicism for a week or so and enjoy christmas, sometimes it's nice not to focus on how shit the world can be. I get asked sometimes how come I can be so happy the majority of the time, well, I could complain, lord knows there are enough things that happen to me or those I care about, and things I worry over but if that was all I ever thought or spoke about I'd be doing no one any favours especially not myself, been there and done that, have the t-shirt, don't want to go there again. We can never control what happens, only our responses to it. So choose something else to think about, I'm sure you have something to be thankful for, friends and family to share a season of joy with, if you don't like the "traditional" christmas stories or whatever, then make some of your own, create some traditions for your family, that reflect what you believe and wish to celebrate, there is a lot to christmas that doesn't involve santa and reindeer. Your life is what you make it, and no one can do that but you.
wishing you happiness, and that's all anyone really wants isn't it?
much love EP xx

SS
do you have your decorations up? If you want help decorating your blog just give me a yell, I'm not decorating the house this year so have some energy to spare if you need a friend to help. I am pretty hot stuff with tinsel, lol
sending you peace, prosperity and pride,

Saying Hi!

Ha! I laughed. I always thought it was bah-who dorray. :D

But, yes, I agree about the message. It sucks. A lot of children's 'entertainment' includes crappy messages though. Especially the older stuff.

Though Suess is generally pretty cool. I loved the Lorax.

I hope everyone enjoys happy holidays, however you celebrate them. I haven't gotten out much to the internet access points, so I haven't been here. Dial up really, really sucks and I am too impatient for it.

:(

I will try again some night, though.

PS - BC and ergo, sorry I missed you guys last time. I really miss you!

Mayo - It is always a good idea to give a charitable donation in the person's name if they already have everything, especially if the donation is to a cause that is important to the person.

Also, you can always DO something for someone, rather than buy them something.

Sometimes those experiences are the best, if you're creative. :)

Rise and shine!

*opens refrig and finds chocolate whipped cream and strawberries*

Ohhhh.... the perfect breakfast foods!

*dips the biggest, hopefully sweetest one in choco whipped cream, places in dainty tea cup and leaves in refrig for BI ~ with a thank you note*

Good morning/afternoon/evening Mayo, SS, Sweetcheeks, Elena, Ergo, BI, Amy, Mya, Martha, Cupcake; various anons, watchers and lurkers; all whos, grinches, red nosed reindeers, elves want to dentists and misfit toys in the land of blog!

How are you all today? Stoked, somewhat sublime and seriously not sickly, I hope!

Mayo: Thank you for the new room and the new view! Rudolph and The Grinch have always been my two favorite Christmas stories (not just stop motion wise either). My third favorite is "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town". You know, the one about Kris Kringle (aka Santa Claus). It tells his whole life's story! Quite the biography it is!

I especially like the song he sings to the mean old Winter Warlock:

"Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking out the door

You never will get where you're going
If you never get up on your feet
Come on, there's a good tail wind blowing
A fast walking man is hard to beat

Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking out the door

If you want to change your direction
If your time of life is at hand
Well don't be the rule be the exception
A good way to start is to stand

Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking out the door

If I want to change the reflection
I see in the mirror each morn
You mean that it's just my election
To vote for a chance to be reborn"

Well, it turned out he wasn't so mean afterall! One simple act of kindness from Kris Kringle, melted that Winter Warlock's heart of ice and helped him regain his faith and use his magic for good!

Awww..... I love that one too. Maybe it's a two way tie for second place!

I'm with Elena. In the end, all three ended happily and valuable lessons were learned! I'm all for that.

I hope you're enjoying the holiday season, Mayo!

Okay... moving along...

ELENA: Jake does look dashing in those antlers!!!! And precious too! Sandy Ann 'said' "Be still heart" and then she fainted! She said to be sure to tell Jake's mom to tell him that! ;)
And, to give him an extra big lick from her!

Oh, she also said to be sure to tell Jake to look at the pictures of her frolicking in the snow.

He can view those here

(Psst....everyone else may view at will.)

Finally, she said (boy was she talkative/barkative last night) to be sure to tell him to watch the third video. She growls at the end! Don't tell her I told you this; but, I think she growled just to impress Jake! ;)

Ergo: *smooooooooooch*

Mya: I love the "us" elves. That is too funny!!! But, not quite as funny as the MCR elves!!!!!! I LOLed for nearly an hour watching those. Thank you, Mya!

Sweetcheeks: Tell The Mayor to try to keep his clothes on in bars!
;)

Well, since I have written a novella this morning...
I will leave you all with a very short quote to ponder today:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
If it is broke, don't talk about fixing it ~ just fix it for goodness sakes!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, so I added that last line myself. Hence, no quotations! I just don't think that quote requires much pondering. But, that could just be me.

Happy fixings (if need be) everyone!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

Good Morning Mayo

Hope it's gonna be a nice day wherever you are. Hey, if the weather is right you should totally don that lovely red sweater with the reindeer. (flash back to last year when I discussed what holiday sweater you were wearing each day)

So anyway, have a great day. No grumbling, no frownie faces. Live and love you life.

Take care.

Mayo, I gotta tell you, I woke up today giggling over this post again. I really like this one. As you can tell, the subject matter, though tongue in cheek, means a lot to me.

You said,

So, I say to Santa and the rest of the fuckers in this world...just because someone doesn’t fit your image of what “a something” should be you think that they are incapable? Not worthy? Without feelings?

I like this part an awful lot. To pick on someone for being different, for something that they have no control over, and for the stupid, little things that have no bearing on who you are as a person or on your abilities, well it's just so low. I know what you mean.

There are so many people like that, who do that sort of thing. Who use those hateful and hurtful words and then laugh about it when someone's feelings are so hurt. To the person saying it, it might be a big joke, but to the person it gets said to, well perhaps it's something they feel really deeply about.

Then I was thinking, That reminds me of something, but what? I mean, you see that sort of behavior all the time, but I knew it was something semi-blog related, and where had I read that attitude before? Then I remembered the lyrics I saw at Verita's a long time ago:

Boo fuckin hoo you're not the only one whose live's a piece of shit
And yet miraculously somehow we all seem to deal with it
Did anybody think that you would really seriously slit your wrists
In fact I think that everybody thinks you're seriously full of shit

You don't mean it

Some people do mean it, you know? And it's that kind of cruel attitude that is so destructive.

Thank you for saying this, Mayo.

Do I think Santa is a fucker for not seeing the potential greatness in Rudolph. NO, I don't. Santa is a business made he can't see beyond what he needs to get the job. And what he needs are strong health reindeer to pull his sled.

That still leaves Donner who was a dick and if Santa hadn't of found a use for Rudolph I am sure he would have sent him out into the night never to be seen again.

This should read:

So, I say to Donner and the rest of the fuckers in this world...just because someone doesn’t fit your image of what “a something” should be you think that they are incapable? Not worthy? Without feelings?

"Just wait, and watch your back."

I just hope that Rudolph remember how he was treated in the beginning because it is so easy for people who were consider useless to become the same dicks that harassed them once they become the shit.

I also hope that he didn't ditch Clarice for something he thought was better because he is the man now and has to have only people who fit that image around him.

Because it does suck to be thought of as having no feeling, worth or being useless ( because it wasn't that Rudolph was incapable) but it is even worse when the person who you helped get through being labeled that turns around and gives you that label.

Anonymous said...

Hahaha i love to see mayo get beat at his own game...

Anonymous said...

Contrariwise, anon. Mayo and I seem to be of the same mind on this. It's stupid and small-minded to pick on people or leave them out for such petty reasons as the fact that they look different than you do, or they have some sort of meaningless anomaly, for they are likely as capable, if not more capable, than someone else.

And that often, you will be the outcast, and a certain group of people will make fun of you, until, of course, they need you for something. Then all of a sudden it's buddy-buddy and beffies forever. Now see if I were Rudolph--and I have been--I would just be laughing at the other reindeer when they finally needed me. You didn't like me then, but all of a sudden because I can get you somewhere, now we're cool? "To hell with you and all your friends." But, that's just me.

In the bigger picture, because that's how I always see things (the forest is so pretty; what trees?) I think that goes for a broader spectrum of behavior as well. That's the reason why I brought up MSI as an example. When you toss around hurtful words like n*gger, f*ggot, or say women are bitches and whores and should be on their knees etc. and then not expect to be called on it, well that's just foolish and selfish.

Like Mayo said: What a message to send to kids!

I was, in fact, agreeing with Mayo, or at least I was agreeing with my interpretation of his words (well no duh!) which seem to be saying that you don't treat others in a crappy way because of some stupid thing they can't help. You treat them fairly until they prove otherwise. And if you go around calling people evil names just because they are different, or they don't look the way you think they should, or that "self respect" means trying to change something you were born with etc. and then on top of that if you go around with the attitude of "wah wah you little whiner, just suck it up or just kill yourself," eventually someone's going to treat you the same way. Eventually you will be seen for the stupid bastard that you are, and someone's going to be treating you with disrespect.

What it says to me is basically that people are going to treat you the way you treat others, and you'd better be prepared to reap what you sow.

Ya know, I think you guys are kinda missing something.

I mean, yea, Rudolph had a crap start. And I've no doubt he was hurt and felt like a big piece of nothing for a long time (probably struggled with it after for a time, as well... if we're talking about him, as in Real Person Terms). But he wasn't the one to pity the most. It was the ignorance of those around him.

To simply judge someone for their differences is wrong, and pointless, a grand waste of time and only hurts people in the end, no question. People should be embraced for the very differences they are harassed for -because, what a boring waste of a world, if we were all the same.

However, to simply feel sad for the harassed, is wrong too guys. Some people are just BORN ignorant. RAISED ignorant. Especially when it comes to other people, other ways of life, skin color, religions, all the things in this world that vary and make us special. Don't you guys even just a little bit, feel bad for the people missing out on all those incredible things, just cuz they don't KNOW ANY BETTER? It makes me more sad for the others.

Rudolph was strong enough to take his life into his own hands. He made his own decisions, he made real friends, and he came back and he helped those people that didn't understand him. And why would he bother if he himself didn't think them worthy of his effort? Do you guys see?? Do you guys understand? HE helped them, despite it all, because you just can't simply give up on the ignorant.

You have to educate them.

You have to help them. If you turn your back on them, then you are no different (so ironically) than they are.

Anyway, you have a blog of Rudy's Mayo. But I think we're all damn cute, with our glowing noses. I hope we make it through this blizzardy xmas. I hope everyone is doing -better. ;p And Kapu, I love the stripes. Always have. :) Don't let the other reindeer get to you love, they simply don't know any better..

Loves <33

Sorry but I disagree. In this day and age there's no reason for adults to still be that ignorant.

And this all depends on who you're talking about, after all. How can you say that people haven't already tried to reach out to them and to educate them? Maybe they have, and failed.

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

I just meant we shouldn't give up. On anyone. There are some people I sure wouldn't mind if they crawled back to the rock from which they came, but that doesn't mean that Someday they wouldn't see the truth of the world, of others and actually make an effort to embrace it all. I guess that is kind of a glitter outlook, but I am so terribly fond of glitter... ;p

Glad ya came back by Kapu. Hope you are doing good? I have mighty errands to run and very little money to do it all with. Should be...interesting. ;) I will try to pop back in to chat with yaz all lovely's hopefully later tonight...? Be well! Try happy on, it's glowy and bright and red like an apple on a desk (or a certain somebody's mighty fine nose).. yea?

love ya guys!

That would be ideal, Lewis, and it does sometimes happen. But I'm not one to sit around holding my breath waiting for people to see the light. If they do, that's great! Then welcome to the human race.

If not--like for instance if you're 40 and you still are going "N*GGERS F*GGOTS AND bITCHES LULzIES I AM SOOO EDGY!!!111"--then you're just ripe for ridicule. Ya know?

i can't believe Mayo is making us analyze the relationship between Santa and Rudolph. LOL

good morning

hi K
hi anon
hi lewis

lewis, that's how I feel too, it is often ignorance of the difference that causes the problem, but sometimes an incident can open someone's eyes, someone who because of their life or their choice remained closed to that understanding, and if that opportunity arises, and someone does suddenly see the error of their ways, it's a wonderful thing. Some might argue it's too little, too late at times, but that isn't always the case. It's seeing people as people, as individuals regardless of appearance.
There are always examples of times when it doesn't happen, but there are millions of little moments every day when someone sees something differently, sometimes it's as simple as an old lady, who was afraid of teens dressed in black for example, being offered a seat in a bus by one, and realising that you can't label a whole type of person because of the actions of a few. It's too hard to change the whole world in one go, but as I've said before, a little stone creates ripples that can reach a long way.
So like you, I don't think you can ever give up.

and K I totally agree that you will reap what you sow, how you treat others will always come back on you eventually.

Also I believe in the self-fulfilling prophesy, whatever you expect, especially for yourself, will be what happens, as you will subtly act in ways that will bring it about. That is why focussing on the negative will never be of benefit to yourself or anyone.

Some of you may recall I mentioned a girl I had taught and who was married to a friend of my husband, I just found out that they donated her kidneys. Such a beautiful gift to give in such a difficult time, and part of her will continue to live, giving life to another who needed help

That is so true, Ergo. If (and I can't believe we're still talking about Rudy) he had kept the hurt in his heart caused by the others what good would it have done him or anyone else? Yeah, they came to him a in time of need but he didn't turn his back. If he had he then his behavior would have been no better than theirs. He overlooked their narrow minded behavior and in the end they realized they were wrong. A happy ending for all involved.

Hi Amy, hi Ergo.
I'm just wailing along to Cyndi Lauper. 'True Colors' of course.

Amyranth said...

Cuppy, wailing is good, and sometimes, it's the only thing you can do.

ergoproxy said...

CC I find it always helps, it's a beautiful song

Vivienne said...

Very true Amy. I think it's therapeutic, I need to wail right now. If not for myself then for others.
I found out who was in the car with my friend, sadly I knew them all. One had a few broken limbs, another a broken neck, and the third took a lot of damage to her face and head.
Her name is Kira, and she is so beautiful...
I'm furious, you know?

ergoproxy said...

just saying, if I disappear it's because either the rain is too heavy for my satellite, or I've turned the computer off because of lightning, it's just thunder rumbling at present but the radar is showing heavy rain a bit out from us

Vivienne said...

Thank you Ergo, it is, isn't it? I plan to make my not xmas, into CHRISTMAS soon... we're putting our tree up early this year.

ergoproxy said...

CC it's so normal to be angry, but at east the three are alive, small comfort when you've lost a friend though.
Is the one with the broken neck just the bone or are they suspecting spinal cord damage too?
Kira may recover well too, it is amazing what can be done with facial injuries, I hope she heals well.
The emotional scars they carry will be hard, they will really need all their friends and family, I'm sure you'll do your best.
Do they know what happened?

Vivienne said...

So far all I know is that it was a head on collision with a garbage truck. It's frustrating, because I want to know what happened...
I'm very thankful the other three survived, though I was closest to Josh.
It's very strange to still be able to hear his messages on my phone, and see his myspace...
But you know what? he was an amazing person, no one like him, so I'm doing my best here. It really is what he'd want.

Amyranth said...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And Kira's going to need to hear that after this. They all are. If they don't know already what's happened, they're going to be worse off when they find out.

ergoproxy said...

I'm sure he was CC, if you loved him he must have been a great guy. It's always surreal with things like that, messages, myspace, like you expect they'll still be there, but it's a place that his friends can gather to express themselves too, things like that never existed before the internet, and I'm sure many will find some comfort in having that to remember in such a difficult time.
I'm sure you'll find out what happened soon, from friends of the others, it will give you all some measure of comfort to understand how.

Vivienne said...

I think everyone is doing their best to take care of eachother.
It's amazing really, how strong you can be when you know there are other people fighting to be strong too.

I think next year is going to be a good one.

Amyranth said...

Cup, have you made any resolutions? I try to start mine now, because I want them to sound good.

I mean, I know I'm going to forget them anyway.

Vivienne said...

Well Amy, this coming year it's going to be about not spreading myself to thinly.
And I'm getting rid of the garbage in my life, baggage too!
I've started early. :)

How about you hun?

ergoproxy said...

I hope it will be too CC. and great resolution

I have no idea what I'll resolve yet

Amyranth said...

Well, I'm going to keep working towards getting my bills paid off, credit cards cancelled, the usual. I want to be as close to debt-free as possible by 12/31/09.

And of course, angling for that engagement ring.

Aside from that, I want to really try to work on my jewelry this year. It's pretty damn obvious that an apprenticeship isn't going to fall into my lap, but I know the basics, and according to my grades in school, I'm not an idiot. I gotta get out there and start promoting myself to get my real dream on the road.

Vivienne said...

It's hard to think of specific things isn't it Ergo?

Vivienne said...

That really does sound great Amy, I hope it all goes well. I'm sure it will. ^_^

Amyranth said...

I hope so too. Thanks Cup. :)
