They said you said what I said to you

Your subtlety lacks finesse. Either it is, or it isn’t.

And, we know it is.

But it is incomplete, isn’t it. What is it that was left out or held back?

Well, let me remind you.

Fear at all hours of the day and night. And, I couldn’t breathe without suggesting abandon, so I suffocated from repression. Then, managing the never ending time spent attempting to quell your irrational needs killed me. It was never enough, the time, the attention, the truth, so I finally caved. Yet, the debate continued. And, you couldn’t stop me or make me change my mind, and that infuriated you. But, instead of pushing so hard you would have been better off just killing time.

But, I relent and you suffer delusion and sometimes it was the other way around.

It was like this; there, assembled from misery, denial and frustration, we produced an alternate reality. Can we just admit that it was unnatural? Not quite forced, but awfully close. If so, then we’ll leave it at that.

In the end, it was finished. I’m surprised we held out as long as we did.

And yes, “it was grand, and we have the pictures to prove it.”

Now it’s just shit and we are both shoveling.

p.s. while hiding beneath the window, crying.

This is what I want to say.

First of all, thanks Toujours and Elena for yesterday. And for whoever else was acting kindly. I was out all the day and I only skimmed before bed so I'm sure I missed someone, but thank you.

Mayo and S(S)S, I knew that the anons were going to go into frothing mode and try to twist my words, but I didn't realize that they were going to twist them as much (and for such a long time!) as they did. So, in case you're just skimming and reading their words and mine are too long-winded, (you know I get effusive and I write novels instead of notes,) here is the short version:

I miss you guys and I hope against hope that you have gotten anything helpful out of this blog. I know that it wouldn't be as momentous for you guys as the change that this blog put into motion in my life. But, maybe? Probably not, because mine is pretty huge. But in the beginning you guys were both saying how great this blog was for you and how helpful. S(S)S, you told us to keep doing whatever it was we were doing because it was helping. But, over a year has passed and if anything has changed for the better for either of you because of this blog, I can't perceive it. Further, I don't even know what it was we were doing that we were supposed to keep doing?

And the gist of the whole thing is that I hope that something good has come of it for you guys. What that may be I have no earthly clue. I wish I did, because it's changed me and I know many others here and I hope it is a two-sided deal.

The other part of what I said was that I loved the days when we would be playing games, like movie quotes, poems, riddles, Star Wars pants games and whatnot and either of you guys would surprise us and jump in. I said that you two are the heart and soul of this blog.

What I didn't say, but should have, was that I also understand why it's hard for you guys to jump in anymore. There's a countdown from when I post this till when the anons come screaming down saying I'm trying to blackmail or manipulate you. Because, you know, you're both so weak-willed that I can control your actions with my words. (And for the anons who don't recognize sarcasm, that was it.)

(The other thing I neglected to say was how I cheered the times that Mayo came in and told the people being nasty to STFU or GTFO in so many words. Heehee.)

Before the anons even come on, let me save them the trouble: I am ugly, unmarried, friendless, and lying about college. My friends are also ugly and they all look like freaks. I live in the ghetto that is Riverhead, LI, and my internet service provider is Optimum Online. I use Firefox and Windows XP. When I went to the Leathermouth show I met Frank and we ate Nutella backstage and started a conspiracy about this blog. Meanwhile, Mayo and SS both hate me and I hate them as well. One time I wanted SS to look at a picture of a goose and doing so set the blog on fire and burned out the entire internet. The picture also killed everyone's mom, burned down everyone's hometown, and raped everyone's dog. And my friends and I are pathetic.

I think I got everything! ^_^

Later guys! Go and have a great day. :D

Shoots, that was supposed to be the short version. >_< Oh well.

Okay, I'm gonna put my crow away and then run out the door. RW, have an awesome time with your pizza, movies and crafts. :)

Everyone else, have a great Sunday also.

I am making pizza. I am channeling Miss T.

elena said...

Hi Sdock, sorry I missed you.

I'm sitting here working on the deposits for the store. Crap, some people can't write. It's so hard to make out the amounts on some of these checks.

resurrected wreck said...

Sucks >_< I imagine it must be like trying to read a doctor's prescription.

elena said...

Exactly and you have to look at both amounts to make sure they match because some people will write out one amount then put a different amount in the box. Oh and if they do then the bank will go by the amount written out by hand.

resurrected wreck said...

I've had banks cash my checks for amounts other than what I'd written out on it. I'm not sure why that happens. I've also had post-dated cheques cashed earlier than the date written on them. Banks are getting sloppy.

elena said...

Bank are sloppy. It's kinda scary really. Once I had someone forget to sign a check. I tried to call but couldn't get them so I called their bank. They told me just to run the check through and it was paid without a signature. I'm pretty sure I'd be upset if my bank did that.

resurrected wreck said...

I would be too!

GS!!!!

I have seen Heston Blumenthal
he is amazing!
at the moment they are showing "In Search of Perfection"
the man is driven I'll give him that, though whether I could be bothered doing 10 different things to a piece of meat then roasting it for 13 hours and searing the outside with a blowtorch and .........etc etc
just so it is perfect..
but I do like watching him do it, and I would love to get to his Fat Duck restaurant, with that degustation menu, with wierd foams of obscure ingredients and the like

he did a show earlier too about the science of foods and it was fascinating, like chocolate and blue cheese go together as they have the same compounds (and they do) but not basil and coffee (and they don't) I've tried out quite a few things from that show, cooking meat and frying carrot instead of boiling them

wow that ended up a bit long!

Anonymous said...

Shoot, I'm gonna go backread. Back in a few.

oh indeed they are ergo! positively essential!!

How are you? You sound so hectic, like always ^_^

always BC!! too many little people in my house not to be! all good here though. if i could win the lottery, like i only want 60 grand, but that would be just fab!!

Christmas is scaring me!! but i do love it!

mya said...

I think I just updated my blog because I'm bored right now... Waiting for those steaks!

farawaysoclose said...

hi mya!! you sound happy!

mya said...

Hi, FASC!
Christmas for me this year will be...
Dolly Parton wrote a song called Hard Candy Christmas.
We're having a Hard Candy Christmas this year.

ergoproxy said...

mya I do it all the time now, just slice them (I usually slice them longways) and fry them in butter or olive oil, they come up tasting so sweet and really carroty
Heston said it's because the flavour compounds in carrot are water soluble so if you boil them it goes into the water (hence it going yellow)
do try it , I think they are so much nicer than boiled

mya said...

OH, I will try that, Ergo! Thanks!

farawaysoclose said...

We're having a Hard Candy Christmas this year.

sounds about right mya!

mya said...

One question though - how long does it take them to become tender? Or do they remain a bit crisp?

mya said...

FASC, at least my daughter is old enough to understand. Actually, I'm really blessed that she understands the true meaning of Christmas.

mya said...

I better go jump in the shower! I don't need to be all skanky when the family gets here!

Anonymous said...

Hi mya! And happy birthday wishes to your mom :)

GS, thank you for the get well wishes.

Sweetcheeks: Don't warn your brothers about their impending bites. I prefer having the advantage of a SURPRISE attack! It's the fear. I can smell it and I like it! ;)

Hahahaha, that will be no problem sugarplum ^_^

mya said...

Yeah, I've been lazy today...

ergoproxy said...

cook it on medium heat, still so they sizzle, they do go soft and it's pretty quick

let me know if you like it!

mya said...

Yes, Ergo, I made the soaps and lotions. A little hobby of mine.

I will def. give the fried carrots a try!

farawaysoclose said...

FASC, at least my daughter is old enough to understand. Actually, I'm really blessed that she understands the true meaning of Christmas.

mya my eldest is just 9 yrs and she is questioning Father Christmas (Santa) this year. i don't mind telling her, as long as she keeps it quiet. younger siblings always find out sooner but the oldest make a decent age!!

anyway have a good time mya! get washed, don't be skanky!

mya said...

Gonna run through the shower now!

See you guys later!

mya said...

Oh, FASC, I'll never forget my brother telling me about Santa... My heart was broken! I cried all day long!

mya said...

I think I was 8 years old.
He ran in the house and got our oldest brother and me over to the side and said, "We're all getting bicycles for Christmas!"
I said, "How do you know that?"
He said, "The basement door is locked, but I peeked through a crack and there are 3 bicycles in the basement!"
I was like, "But why would Santa put them there?" And my brother says, "Oh, don't you get it? Mom and Dad are Santa!"
I'll never ever forget that...

farawaysoclose said...

Oh, FASC, I'll never forget my brother telling me about Santa... My heart was broken! I cried all day long!

man those nasty older brothers!

seeya mya!

i am watching "i'm a celebrity, get me out of here" which is based on "Survivor". anyway George Takei from Star Trek....Mr Sulu?? (sp) he's 71 yrs old and fucking funny!

farawaysoclose said...

mind you mya i will spend less when Santa doesn't exist anymore cos we get the kids pressies and so does Santa!! i think we got it wrong??!!

ergoproxy said...

aw that's mean mya!

my daughter is 6 and seems to have it figured that mum and dad are in charge of presents but santa is still there helping and delivering extras, she realised something was up when there were more than one santa at shops, so I sort of explained that the real santa had assistants to help out as he's so busy with toys, but they all report back to him, too smart for her own good that girl

mya said...

Another spoiled Christmas story involving the same brother...

OK, I was older, 15, and actually knew the truth about Santa at this time... I had really begged, hoped, and prayed for a guitar that Christmas, but our family never went all out so I was a bit doubtful, right? Anyway, Christmas morning came and that same brother who always woke up at the butt-crack of dawn anyway, came tearing into my room, yelling, "Get up! Get up! It's Christmas! You got a guitar!"

ergoproxy said...

and bye mya have a lovely dinner with family, and you are very talented!

I love my brother, I really do!
It's actually funny now.

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with the gladness
Of love for one another
It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share
And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy he's my brother
He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Who the hell would steal CL's clothes? I think it was stolen from other people.

Anonymous said...

Martha, unfortunately these confused people are everywhere.

I'd much rather read about someone who is doing something positive in this world.

I just noticed a story the other day about an Australian obstetrician who has dedicated her life to helping women in Ethiopia. These women were considered outcasts in their villages because their injuries sustained during childbirth which made them permanently incontinent.

The stories are so sad, but her determination to care for these people, made it awe-inspiring.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I'm in a bad mood so inspirational stories aren't making me feel good at all. Hell that one about CL didn't make me laugh either

Sorry to read Martha, what about listening to some music?

I mean these women were virtually ostracized from their family and friends.

We take so many things for granted here.

Well, you got a point there MJ. Touche.

Hi there Ergo.

ergoproxy said...

we sure do anon

those poor women life such terrible lives and for her to be able to help them, when they have no money or support is wonderful.
In the show they followed the story of a young girl who ended up using the less invasive treatment (there is a choice for some of like a valve if they don't require surgery), and she recovered but had no where to go so they helped her get a job in a local child care centre, it was so good seeing her so happy after such misery.

For ergo:

Snickerdoodle French Toast
3/4 cup milk
3 large eggs
pinch salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 slices bread (white, or similar)
cinnamon sugar mixture, a bit heavy on the cinnamon*

Heat grill/frying pan over medium-high heat.
In a small bowl, whisk milk, eggs, salt and vanilla. Pour into a flat dish that is large enough to dip bread slices in.
Dip bread slices in egg mixture and poke with a fork a few times to ensure custard gets all the way through. Sprinkle one side generously with cinnamon sugar and place this side face down in lightly greased, preheated pan. Sprinkle the top side of the french toast generously with cinnamon sugar.
Cook until bottom is browned, then flip and cook through until toast is slightly firm and no longer wet.
Serve immediately.

Makes 4 large pieces of french toast. Will make 6 if you have small bread.

*Make up a batch of cinnamon sugar by mixing 1/4 cup sugar with 2 tsp cinnamon. Save any extra and use it to top regular buttered toast.

Chocolate Cinnamon Bread with Sugar Crust

1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 large eggs
1 cup all purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cocoa powder
pinch ground cloves

Preheat the oven to 350F and thoroughly grease a 9×5″ loaf pan.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time, waiting until the previous egg has been completely incorporated before adding the next.
In a medium bowl, sift together all purpose flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
In a measuring cup, whisk together buttermilk, water and vanilla extract.
Working in two or three additions, alternately add the flour mixture and the buttermilk mixture to the sugar mixture. Begin and end with an addition of the flour mix.
Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
In a small bowl, whisk together topping ingredients: sugar, cinnamon, cocoa powder and ground cloves. Sprinkle evenly on top of the loaf cake.
Bake at 350F for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow cake to cool in pan for 10-15 minutes, then run a knife around the edge and turn out onto a wire cooling rack.
Cool completely before slicing.

Makes 1 loaf.

I always used to make cinnamon toast when I was younger *coughandmaybeoccasionallynow*

you toast white bread, butter it then cut it into soldiers (strips) and shake it in a bag with a mix of white sugar and cinnamon

ergoproxy said...

wow that's really good MJ

I had some casettes from japanese bands I got when we travelled to Hong Kong, One was really big at the time and sounded similar, wonder where they've gotten to?

toujours said...

hi martha. hi ergo!

aww, you're nice, but you guys really helped me out in a major way. i am so building that special proof-reading team oubliette. *heh* ;)

according to the contract, it doesn't look like i get a comp issue (i'm going to ask about that), but it seems their going to make some of the magazine available online, so if they do, i'll be sure to post a link here or on my blog. :)

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Glad you liked it Martha.

I like the new release by Girugamesh too. Sounds like 90's retro and record scratching mixed with some hardcore and metal :)

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Speaking of things Japanese. I started watching some new anime. Astro fighter sunred and one called Michiko to Hatchin

toujours said...

maybe you should, ergo!

i like your method of making cinnamon toast. as kids we made it under the broiler, it was one of the first things we were allowed to make in the oven.

J-rock is great ergo :)

What's that about Martha?

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Sunred is about a former super fighter. Think the red ranger. Who is no longer a fighter and sponges off is girlfriend. But the evil doers that he once fought still show up. And they are super nice. Sun Red is an asshole big time.

Michiko to Hitchin is a bit like cowboy bebop. About a woman who escaped from prison and is on the run with a little girl.

ergoproxy said...

oh I saw some of Cowboy Bebop!

anime is on at such inconvenient times here, and I just never get around to DVDs
