Your subtlety lacks finesse. Either it is, or it isn’t.
And, we know it is.
But it is incomplete, isn’t it. What is it that was left out or held back?
Well, let me remind you.
Fear at all hours of the day and night. And, I couldn’t breathe without suggesting abandon, so I suffocated from repression. Then, managing the never ending time spent attempting to quell your irrational needs killed me. It was never enough, the time, the attention, the truth, so I finally caved. Yet, the debate continued. And, you couldn’t stop me or make me change my mind, and that infuriated you. But, instead of pushing so hard you would have been better off just killing time.
But, I relent and you suffer delusion and sometimes it was the other way around.
It was like this; there, assembled from misery, denial and frustration, we produced an alternate reality. Can we just admit that it was unnatural? Not quite forced, but awfully close. If so, then we’ll leave it at that.
In the end, it was finished. I’m surprised we held out as long as we did.
And yes, “it was grand, and we have the pictures to prove it.”
Now it’s just shit and we are both shoveling.
p.s. while hiding beneath the window, crying.

«Oldest ‹Older 2201 – 2400 of 2962 Newer› Newest»Oh, next week it looks like some guy holds them all hostage with a gun in order to make them figure out what's wrong with him. But I guess the twist is that he forces 13 to take whatever treatments he gets too. O_O
Smoke,
A dude is going to bust all in all sickly and shit toting a gun and hold the whole fucking hospital hostage all while making #13 take the same treatments he has to take.
o_O
And my toes are cold. But don't worry, Mayo. I won't ask you to blow on them. Cuz if you're like me, feet are just ewwwww.
Muwahahaha.
RW,
Jules is going to be my doc too.
Really?
She's got patients lining up & she hasn't even graduated yet!
That's the story of my entire "novel writing" experience, Solly. ;)
Yep, Jules, that about sums it up!
We rule!
Hi, S&V :)
Bwah! You two did it at the same time! Like at the same time! *Adam voice
LOL, I like the way Solly said it better.
RW, haven't graduated yet, hell. I haven't even started yet. ^_^
My hands are still cold and if Fimmy were here she'd blow on them for me.
I miss her. She was over at DM earlier.
Solly has a sad.
Adam, dude. That young man is going to give his son the middle name "Danger."
Actually that's kind of cool.
Jules shares part of my brain along with you, Smoke.
It's creepy the way we do that, but not creepy in a bad creepy, creepy in an ahhhh that's kind of strange but cool, creepy.
One night on AIM, we said the same thing like 4 times in a row.
Danger?
Oooohhhhh!!!! Niiiice.
Danger's my middle name.
Heh.
She was? WTF. Tell her to come back. I haven't been around much and I miss her like crazy. Why won't that ho email? TF. She's naughty.
In this Fringe show, the crazy scientist Dad always uses his cute smartass kid in experiments. I don't know why that amuses me but it does.
RW, haven't graduated yet, hell. I haven't even started yet. ^_^
Details, K, just details!
We did! I remember that.
I miss Fimmy to, Solly :( She pokes me often on Facebook.
I think we're all the same person, really. And now a part of us/me/you/her is missing because Mustard is not here. >.<
And I'll just tell you guys, it was never a bodysuit.
LOL, details! I agree, RW. Who the hell needs knowledge or practice or whatnot? Just get on over here and let me poke and prod you.
It doesn't matter if I'm good at medicine. I can do a backbend.
Mayo,
Smoke secretly wants you to blow on her toes.
*shhhhh*
You have a facebook? Hook me up, ho.
Yeah, poor Mustard, she was the only one convinced that she was wearing a bodysuit.
FIMBLE VENOMS!!!! WHERE IS U?????
I like The Mentalist. It's a pretty cool show. I like Simon Baker though. He's a cutie.
Fuck you, conflicting edit shit!
Ummm, Mayo?
You do and I'll kick you in the nose. Just warning you, dude.
You might lose some teeth.
Solly! When you get a conflicting edit, just reload the page and it will go through anyway.
It doesn't matter if I'm good at medicine. I can do a backbend.
Will you marry me? Oh wait, you already did!
Gah, just blowing, not sucking.
Good grief.
Conflicting editing just means that someone else is posting a comment at the same time. Just go back to your comment & hit Post again.
Jules,
I know, but it was pissing me off all the same. I got it like 3 times in a row.
Hitting that extra button stresses me.
Are you on Facebook too, K?
EWWWWWW! DNW! DNW!
Stop it, Solly!
Feet/toes/sucking/blowing, those words do not belong in the same sentence like ever. Never ever.
at the same time
Must've been Jules and Smoke!
Get outta my head!
Smoke, have you seen the trailers for "The Day The Earth Stood Still?" It comes out on 12/12. I thought about you right away.
Noooo! Does it? OMG!
What I hate more than that is when I post something thinking it went through then I open another window, come back later to find my damn comment still sitting there! >_<
Stop talking about toes, you guys are giving me the all overs in a bad way. EWW.
RW, I am totally on F/B but I have it private, for obvious reasons. >_< Find me through Fimmy!
THiS DUDE. He reminds me of a young Kenneth Branagh.
Oh, who is he? I've seen him on something else before.
Uh, yeah...
Dawson's Creek.
But I never watched that show either.
Just stating facts.
It had him, the blonde dude James Vander something, Heath Ledger's ex, and Tom Cruise's wife.
Oh, the same guy? Well, he grew up to look like Kenneth Branagh. ^_^
Oh. O_O
I didn't watch Dawson's Creek.
*sticks tongue out at Solly*
Unless I'm totally wrong, and if I am, then who the hell was on Dawson's Creek?
You did watch it! You know all of them! Muwahahaha!
And what was the song they always played? What was it?
*dangles foot in front of Smoke*
Lick my toes, bitch!
I just added you on F/B, K :)
And now, I must head to bed. Perchance, to sleep.
Have a lovely evening, everyone :)
How do you know there was a song, huh?
Because you watched it, that's how!
The dirty, filthy truth is revealed.
Feel better, RW!
Sweet dreams!
He will always be Pacey to me. He was in a werewolf movie with Cristina Ricci too.
Hi & bye, Carrie :)
Lemme go check, RW. Cool! And good night! :)
Umm, with the toe stuff, EWWW!
And the song was I Don't Want To Wait, by Paula Cole. Yeah, I was all up in the Dawson Creek. :)

You are sick.
Mayo,
Make her stand in the corner or something. Damn!
Hi Carrie!
I gotta go shower. Be back in just a bit!
Bye RW, hope you feel better!
Hi, Carrie!
Yeah, Mayo, make her go in the corner, she's naughty and dirty!
Heheheh, I'm off to purge some nonsense and hope it makes sense somehow.
Goodnight, guys!
I'll come back and stand in the corner, Mayo. I haven't hung out there in a while anyways. Maybe I'll write a poem about feet while I'm over there. Yeaaaaaaaah.
Seeya 'round, Dude.
Welp, Terry is finally back from his meeting. Maybe I will force him to watch House, I taped it earlier. Night, guys.
Oh, the dad is back in the mental hospital!
Ewww Solly don't!
Actually, James Cagney wrote a poem about feet one time. he wrote it because his friend hated feet, like I do. I don't remember the whole thing but it started something like,
Feet are most unfortunate things
encased in leather, tied with strings...
Or something like that.
O_O
Goodnight RW, get better soon. Goodnight Solly and Carrie
Ewwwwww! Just ewwwwww!
Mayofeetz has got to be the most whining cat on the face of the planet. I swear.
Goodnight Solly!
Goodnight RW!
Goodnight Carrie!
I'm off, too. Gotta watch The Mentalist! Later errbody!
Have a nice night!
Goodnight smokie
Harro?
*drags a box, topped with other boxes into the living room*
*begins unpacking Christmas Decorations*
*finishes hanging and wiring the garlands around the room*
*starts sorting the tree decorations*
Hallo Amy!
Hallo BC! What's up?
*starts trying to untangle the tree lights*
*untangles the lights, and replaces a few bulbs*
*starts dusting the tables and setting up christmas candles and wreath-rings*
You're in a decorating mood,aren't you amykins? ^_^
Nothing much really. My belly is full of pizza, and i'm looking up old classmates from high school. I barely recognized most of them X_x
Am I ever. I can't even really decorate here yet, not after last year's fiasco.
I found out that one of my old classmates, who used to spread rumors about me shopping at Value Village because I was "too poor to afford anything nice", now works at Value Village as a cashier.
I wonder what would happen if people stopped shopping there because they started being able to afford "nice clothes" Hmm?
Amy, oh really?
Karma can bite you in the ass like that.
Yup, indeed BC.
Oh well, like you said. Carmen's a bitch. ;)
*puts the finishing touches on the garland around the windows, the bookcases and the fireplace*
Okay, that's all for me for tonight.
Goodnight BC! See you tomorrow!
Goodnight Mayo and SS!
Goodnight, Lovelies who come after me!
Who the hell is carmen? Haha.
Goodnight Amy sweet dreams!
helloooo!
Hi there ergo *waves*
Hi BC!
hey AMY
nice decorations!!!
*adds a few little stuffed koalas in santa hats*
*and adds some gum leaves, bottle brush and ,grevillia (Silky Oak) sprigs to the garlands and wreaths
all picked from around my house*
Oo I like the colors of the silky oak. It looks pretty.
it's a big tree in our front yard BC. right infront of our bedroom
the birds all love the nectar so it gets noisy, but it's very pretty
That sounds really nice Ergo :)
hello.
don't you love it when you drink a cup of coffee in a cool room, and your breath bounces back up from the coffee and warms your face?
that's nice. :)
hi TJ!
hi there ergo. :)
Hi TJ
*walks over to the kitchen*
*comes back with a fresh cup*
*sits on the couch*
*clicks the automatic fireplace on*
aahhh.
*siiiiiiiip*
whoops! i'm sorry bc, i think i just walked right past you. that's bad. :(
how are you doing tonight?
oh TJ you look comfy
*gets cold drink and sits beside you*
different climate around me , you understand
*sips*
*watches flames*
i understand completely ergo. :)
That's okay TJ. I'm doing alright, just a bit crampy. I was catching up on my old classmates from high school.
i read that you were doing that, bc. what made you want to look them up? just nostalgia?
I think we have a storm to the west
is that a danger to you ergo?
apparently so. i hope she's okay.
oh no
not at all really
it's usual in summer, be nice to get some rain
sorry I was on myspace for a bit there and zoned out
Not exactly nolstaia, TJ, but I was curious to see what a lot of them are up to nowadays. Many of them have either kids, moved out of state, or gotten married, etc.
It's amazing how they all aged. I couldn't even recognize some of them at first. It's just incredible, in a way.
*phew* i was worried about you there, ergo!
bc, it's always weird to get together with friends from high school.
Yeah it is TJ. Reunion's just a few years away.
oh it sure is, I found 2 guys I went to primary school with a few months ago, that was over nearly 30 years ago!
TJ we are on a range of hills too so I can see a fair way west, the storm isn't close at all yet, it may blow out, there is a severe weather warning south of us though, poor things
i've never been to any of mine, bc. it always costs too much to attend, for some reason. high school was free, why should i have to pay $50 or $75 to go to my high school reunion?
but from what i hear, i'm probably not missing anything.
now i have a mental image of you standing on a windswept hill, scanning the sea, ergo. you might be wearing a regency gown.
i might need more (or less) coffee. hmm. :/
haha
bit far from the sea but I can be windswept for you!
I have never been to my high school but I've been to a few of my students
and one from primary school about 15 years ago
and if a cross over black and white abstract diamond print short sleeved top and black short skirt are acceptable as "regency"....
that's classic regency attire, ergo. no doubt about it. ;)
it is pretty windy
it's all being sucked west by the storm depression, that's usually the best sign one is out there
yikes. it sounds ominous.
I do like storms, only thing is I have to drive down to town in half an hour for tutoring until 8pm
don't like being away from home in a storm
but it'll probably pass to the south, or we''ll just get a bit
actuall, i like storms too. when i was a kid i used to go out and play in the wind that rises before a thunderstorm. but i can understand not wanting to be away from home during one...it's like a watched pot. *heh*
I did once pull over in a closed petrol station as there was tonnes of lightning and I was scared,(I was like 24 or so) and a security guy drove in and asked if I was ok, and he sat by me in his car until the worst passed, He was really sweet to do that.
aaww, that was sweet of him! that probably would have scared me too -- all that metal in a car.
but usually, i just get really pumped up by all the negative ions in the air. :D
well gotta go!
off to titoring and hopefully no storm till I get home, oh
and if you could spare some good vibes for my daughter, she has to go to the dentist, she has a shark tooth, her bottom front tooth is behind her baby tooth, which isn't at all loose, they may have to pull it out.
my poor baby! but she is pretty tough, and hubby is taking her while I tutor.
take care
xx
see you ergo!
lots of easy-going good vibes for your daughter, and staying safe ones for you!
:)
Take care Ergo and stay safe
for Martha Jones
stronger than yesterday
now it's nothing but my way
I still don't like her
mayo,
went back out to the woods this afternoon. it was a beautiful bright day, even though it was cold. the woods are definitely beginning to take on their winter aspect -- even at the far end of them i could still catch glimpses of the house.
six acres is only immense when it is hidden in leaves.
but it's still a lovely retreat. i wrote again, although at one point i was thoroughly sidetracked by a woodpecker making its way through the upper branches. it would eye the limb it was on, then if some arcane avian critera was met, it would hammer away. the sound echoed like we truly were inside a cavernous cathedral.
anyway, i rambled further than i had before. i crossed the field behind the woods -- even though it was trespassing -- and walked along the line of trees on that side. they hugged a creek, and at one point i stopped and looked down across the little ravine, and saw hollows in the bank.
it was like seeing something from the wind in the willows. i felt like if i just stood still long enough, ratty and mole would come gliding up in ratty's boat, and go inside for a late tea. *grin*
i crossed the tree line into the pocket field that borders my folks' woods, still trespassing, still meandering along the back. it was so beautiful, mayo. the sun was below the horizon, it was just starting to turn to twilight, and the sky had a translucent pink tinge that seemed to intensify every time i glanced back up at it. the oaks in the woods are still wearing their leaves, all brittle and rust-colored, and the air was so fresh and sharp with the chill. i couldn't do anything else but stop in my tracks.
it's ridiculous, but i had the sudden urge to write poetry, so i hauled out my journal, and braced it in the crook of my arm, and scribbled out my first line.
i heard rustling in the leaves behind me -- a squirrel dashing off somewhere. i heard more rustling, something larger, at the next corner of the field. maybe a deer, i thought. there had been gunfire earlier. it's hunting season, so maybe it was a deer heading toward safer ground.
then a big brown dog came out into the field, and stopped, legs braced. it stared at me. it was probably as startled as i was, to see a stranger in its territory. i know i was pretty damn startled to see this huge cujo dog.
the poetry, of course, was gone. my head only had room for: oh shit.
there was another dog, i could hear it in the trees. it barked a few times, cujo looked away from me at its unseen partner. then it looked back at me and barked once.
it wasn't an entirely friendly bark, nor was it menacing. it was like the dog had said "hey!"
so i said out loud, as if we were just playing, "who you barkin' at?"
i repeated my question, still all friendly dog-lover on the outside, and inside a shaking mass of humanity who is remembering most vividly that her kind started out as prey.
but cujo wagged his tail.
and then turned and went back into the trees to chase that wayward squirrel.
i decided that it was time to go back to the house. *grin*
how my legs held me up as i crossed that field i just don't know.
but it was still a beautiful afternoon.
i hope you find adventures in your path, too, mayo, and emerged unscathed.
good night, friend.
hey mj. goodnight tj
Haha, was that the Britney Spears anon?
Hello Bc
How are you mj?
Bleeding chaos
hit me baby one more time
Hahaha, there's the Britney Spears anon.
Hi there ^_^
I am well how are you bc
hello Bleeding chaos
Sometimes I run
sometimes I hide
Sometimes I’m scared of you
Hello Britney anon
I'm doing alright mj, just a bit tired, thanks.
Have you been sick
Yeah I was, for a few weeks, with a virus. It's getting better day by day.
Right now it's just cramps.
hello Martha
People can take everything away from you
But they can never take away your truth
But the question is..
Can you handle mine?
...that's my prerogative
Sorry to hear that BC.
Anon that is a bobby brown song
Hitohira no hanabira ga yurete iru boku no tonari de ima
Machigatta koi datta sonna koto omoitaku wa nai
Thanks mj. And yeah, you're right about the song, but Britney did a remake of it.
X_x
It's one of her greatest hits Martha Jones.
A crappy remake even Bobby didn't like and he needed the money he got from it.
Well most of her songs are written by other people so I guess you can let her have it. To she add I love Rock and Roll to her greatest hit as well.?
I thought Britney's version of I love Rock and Roll sucked.
Joan Jett did it better.
I don't like her voice and I don't think she is really that talented. But when you shake your tits and ass you can go far in this world. And act like jail bait.
I used to like her in the beginning, but that was before she got all trashy.
I don't respect any female "musician" who feel that they need to sell sex or act like idiots in order to sell records. It's disgusting.
And when you mention my name
Make sure you know the truth, yeah
Until I vow to keep it forever
Outrageous
When I move my body
Outrageous
In my sexy jeans
Outrageous
My sex drive
Outrageous
Goodnight
Goodnight Britney anon sweet dreams.
I am off as well. Goodnight mj.
Goodnight BC and b. anon.
BC I agree with what you said. I find it so sad that muisc right now isn't about how well you can sing but how much of a ho you came make yourself into.
but what is sadder those girls think they are empowering themselves by doing that. Selling your body isn't empowering, it will only allow you to be known for a short time.
Mayo can't stay big storm lightning, drive home, in front of me eeeeeep!!
Eyes still imprinted!!
got home safe, still about so I won't stay

Mayo
I’m here but not really. Okay actually I’m at the casino more-than-likely loosing money. Ergo kindly said she’d post this for me. She’s pretty damn nice like that. Anyway I just wanted you to know that even though I’m not “here” I am here (in spirit anyway).
Hope you’re well. Take Care.
Elena (come on seven, mama needs a new pair of Etnies)
Mayo,
Randomness for the day or night dreamer inside of you:
Dreams
Who first said "false as dreams?" Not one who saw
Into the wild and wondrous world they sway;
No thinker who hath read their mystic law;
No Poet who hath weaved them in his lay.
Else had he known that through the human breast
Cross and recross a thousand fleeting gleams,
That, passed unnoticed in the day's unrest,
Come out at night, like stars, in shining dreams;
That minds too busy or to dull to mark
The dim suggestions of the noisier hours,
By dreams in the deep silence of the dark,
Are roused at midnight with their folded powers.
Like that old fount beneath Dodona's oaks,
That, dry and voiceless in the garish noon,
When the calm night arose with modest looks,
Caught with full wave the sparkle of the moon.
If, now and then, a ghastly shape glide in,
And fright us with its horrid gloom or glee,
It is the ghost of some forgotten sin
We failed to exorcise on bended knee.
And that sweet face which only yesternight
Came to thy solace, dreamer (did'st thou read
The blessing in its eyes of tearful light?)
Was but the spirit of some gentle deed.
Each has its lesson; for our dreams in sooth,
Come they in shape of demons, gods, or elves,
Are allegories with deep hearts of truth
That tell us solemn secrets of ourselves.
Henry Timrod
Have a dreamy Wednesday, Mayo.
Love to YOU Always,
S
p.s. With my eyes wide open.
I woke up, way before the alarm went off, because of a severe headache... Could be my sinuses again, or it could be the beer I drank last night... Not that I drank that many, but rather that it was cheap beer... Been trying to adjust my spending...
Hey! Nice Christmas decor, Mayo! Amyranth and Ergo did a great job! Hey, Ergo, I want some of that bottle brush and silky oak! Those are beautiful!
But under the tree looks bare... I must start work on making soap and lotion to for all of you! Any special requests?
an email I just received:
I'm often skeptical of these things but Snopes says it's legit.

PLEASE DO THIS 'FREE' GOOD DEED - Animal Rescue
Animal Rescue
Hi, all you animal lovers. This is pretty simple... Please tell ten

It takes less than a minute (How about 20 seconds) to go to their site
and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals' for free. This
doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponso rs/advertisers use the
number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals
in exchange for advertising.

PLEASE TELL 10 FRIENDS !!!
I was snooping around at MySpace and looking at my beautiful niece's pictures that she has posted to her MySpace...
I found some pics of her and one of her friends up at the lakehouse when no one else was there... In one of the them, she is in the paddle boat and it appears she is sipping on one of those Mike's Hard Lemonades... Hmmmmmmm....
Oh, well... shit... She is a freshman in college now... Why am I being so...? Hell, that lakehouse has seen some pretty wild things, mainly from when we were teenagers! And it sure as hell wasn't Hard Lemonade!
I just hope she'll be careful...
Speaking of my beautiful niece... She really is beautiful...
She was born missing her right hand. It happens when a piece of the amniotic tissue wraps around one of the limbs and actually chokes off the development during pregnancy. Just one of those strange quirks that can happen...
She wears a prosthesis, just for show mostly... When she was little, she never wore it. Damn thing is hard as a rock and heavy as hell!
Anyway, being born with that handicap has not stopped her. She's very athletic and has been a cheerleader for years. She is very outgoing, popular, just your typical full-of-herself teenager...
She's a pistol!
Good for her Mya! That's the way to truly live. Let nothing hold you back. You should make sure to tell her how proud you are of her and all that she has faced. (I am sure she knows, but no doubt it is nice to be heard.)
Thank you for sharing Mya.
:)
Mya
It sounds like your niece inherited some great traits from her aunt.
;)
Ooooooo
Pretty Christmas decorations.
The scents of Canada and the touches of Australia make them even prettier.
++attaches some mistletoe to the garland over the door++
Thanks, Anons! You can see for yourself how beautiful she is if you go to my MySpace (Myalyas). She is one of my "friends" and you'll recognize her because she is in her cheerleading uniform.
In fact, give me a minute, and I'll upload a picture of all our fine childrens! They really are mighty fine!
Morning Mayo! Morning SS! Morning Errbody!
I want some boots and it's driving me batty. They have to be just the right height, just the right color of black, just the right texture, just the right style. I am too damn complicated. >.<
Hope everyone is having a lovely day so far!
Later!
hello everyone, hello mya and anons.
just swinging through on my way offline. :)
kapunua, i've been trying to reply to your email this morning, but my account is being recalcitrant -- it's strangle-the-computer time again! i'll try to finish it and get it sent tonight.
i thought this was interesting -- last night i was poking around, trying on an idea my editor had (it involves plato and mathematics, so idk. i'm not a math person.), and i came across the idea of eudaimonia.
apparently, it's derived from the idea the greeks had that everyone was born with a personal daimon (which is different from "demon", it simply means "spirit") which was thought to be like a golden figurine embodying one's best self. the idea is that striving to reveal one's daimon was the highest goal one could have in life. it's the idea behind the phrase "know thyself".
i love it. it's very much like what i'm always talking about when i mention following my true path. i'm definitely going to see if i can find out more about eudaimonia.
okey-doke, time to go. today is library day, so right now my daimon just wants to get more books. :)
bye blogbelieve, have a lovely day!
bye mayo. you have a good day, too, please.
:)
smoke, you came in while i was typing, or i would've including you in my greeting! have a good day!
ciao, now! :)
Well, I uploaded some more photos to Myspace, but I was trying to change my slideshow and I can't remember how obviously... So anyway... The pics are there just the same.
Hi, TJ!
Hi, Smoke!
Now, I'm gonna go make soap and bread.
Not together!
But, anyway, that's what I'll be doing this afternoon.
See ya later!
She is a looker just like her aunt.
All that plus personality, brains and talent.
Great gene pool Mya. Be proud. :)
Hi and bye, TJ! Hi and bye, Mya!
Mayo,
I'm sleepy. If I sneak in here and take a nap, will you tell on me? ^_~
Hi TJ & Sdock.
Hi Smoke.
Bye Smoke.
Ooooooh... Thanks, Anon!
Makes me a little nervous getting all these compliments... I appreciate them, don't misunderstand!
And speaking of my gene pool...
Did you check out the picture of my Grandmother???!!!
She'll be 107 in January!!!
107, that's cool. :)
Is anyone about?
107, that's cool. :)
Is anyone about?
Miss Boyd was thirty. ...
But she was one of those plain women whose plainness does not matter. A gallant Frenchman had to her face called her a belle laide, and, far from denying the justness of his observation, she had been almost flattered. Her mouth was large, and she had little round bright eyes. ...
Her nose was long and thin. But her face was so kindly, her vivacity so attractive, that no one after ten minutes thought of her ugliness. You noticed then that her hair, though sprinkled with white, was pretty, and that her figure was exceedingly neat. She had good hands, very white and admirably formed, which she waved continually in the fervour of her gesticulation. Now that her means were adequate she took great pains with her dress, and her clothes, though they cost much more than she could afford, were always beautiful. Her taste was so great, her tact so sure, that she was able to make the most of herself. She was determined that if people called her ugly they should be forced in the same breath to confess that she was perfectly gowned. Susie's talent for dress was remarkable, and it was due to her influence that Margaret was arrayed always in the latest mode. The girl's taste inclined to be artistic, and her sense of colour was apt to run away with her discretion. Except for the display of Susie's firmness, she would scarcely have resisted her desire to wear nondescript garments of violent hue.
I like that excerpt. ^_^
With the grace that marked all her movements she walked cross the studio, the filled cup in one hand and the plate of cakes in the other. To Susie it seemed that he was overwhelmed with gratitude by Margaret's condescension. His eyes were soft with indescribable tenderness as he took the sweetmeats she gave him. Margaret smiled with happy pride. For all her good-nature, Susie could not prevent the pang that wrung her heart; for she too was capable of love. There was in her a wealth of passionate affection that none had sought to find. None had ever whispered in her ears the charming nonsense that she read in books. She recognised that she had no beauty to help her, but once she had at least the charm of vivacious youth. That was gone now, and the freedom to go into the world had come too late; yet her instinct told her that she was made to be a decent man's wife and the mother of children. She stopped in the middle of her bright chatter, fearing to trust her voice, but Margaret and Arthur were too much occupied to notice that she had ceased to speak. They sat side by side and enjoyed the happiness of one another's company.
'What a fool I am!' thought Susie.
She had learnt long ago that common sense, intelligence, good-nature, and strength of character were unimportant in comparison with a pretty face. She shrugged her shoulders.
That's so true, isn't it?
Stop. Not so fast, y'all.
You think you can just up and run away, you crazy.
I like to eat people from other planets.
'Specially y'all.
107? She looks incredible!
I likes to eat you with my little mouth, too!
Oh now y'all get back up inside me, Little Mouth!
I wants to play, too!
Get back inside! I'll get you when we's eatin' them.
A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,
And the dry stone no sound of water. Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
Sweet! ^___^
what a coinkidink!
I watched The Painted Veil last night!
Sorry for disappearing there, I stepped outside to take my dogs for a run, and to take in some bulbs and try to wrap up my eucalyptus plant.
Winter kept us warm,
covering the earth in forgetful snow,
feeding a little life with dried tubers.
Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
(Come in under the shadow of this red rock),
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
That's one of my favorite sections, and "I will show you fear in a handful of dust" is one of my favorite lines.
'My nerves are bad to-night. Yes, bad. Stay with me.
'Speak to me. Why do you never speak? Speak.
'What are you thinking of? What thinking? What?
'I never know what you are thinking. Think.'
^ And I think I must sound like that sometimes, especially on this blog. Especially with nice, mysterious anons, and also probably Mayo and SS. :D
When lovely woman stoops to folly and
Paces about her room again, alone,
She smoothes her hair with automatic hand,
And puts a record on the gramophone.
It was an OK movie... There were things I wished they had done differently, but overall, it was OK...
I like Edward Norton...

Well, this lovely woman has to check on her soap. And bread... LOL
I love Edward Norton. I might have to see it, then.
And TS Eliot FTMFW. :)
They may be ugly
but they got per-son-al-ity
and they can shake their tails with the best of um.
The ones that have tails can.

Oh, one more thing...
My Dad is a retired GM employee. Not that it will do any good, but this is what my Dad wrote and had me email, concerning the auto industry bailout:
The “Bailout” of the American Automobile Industry must be approved only under stringent and enforceable conditions.
All expenses must be reduced in order to meet competition from foreign auto sources.
All labor rates in factories, for white- and blue-collar positions, must be reduced to no more than the Japanese, Korean, and German auto makers pay their workers. These factories are producing automobiles profitably on American soil, primarily because of the labor rate advantage. American automobile worker’s benefits must also be reduced to the same as their competitors.
Additionally, management should be changed and the out-going management should not receive bonuses, or “Golden Parachutes”.
Salaries for CEO’s and other Officer’s should be limited to $1,000,000.00 per year, including stock options, car allowances, unreasonable expenses, etc.
Directors should receive a maximum of $30,000 per year and the Board should have a maximum of 8 Directors.
Almost all politicians will be reluctant to support these changes for fear of the UAW; however the worker’s situation will be much improved with a $50,000 annual salary rather than face unemployment.
We must not allow the American Auto Industry and all its suppliers fail simply because of out-of-control cost disadvantages.
They want to cut out benefits for retirees older than 65... Most of the retirees over 65 were working for them when they were still a great company and added to that company! They are already cutting out their medical come this January.
Kirk Lazarus! Yhus! :)
