Niiice, finger painting?

Amyranth said...

Wow Mayo!

I like it!

Did you do that with acrylic, or oil?

-A is very impressed.

Carrie said...

But I still wanna know how I was rude. :(

Amyranth said...

Aw, Carrie. I wouldn't worry kiddo.

I didn't think you said anything that could be misconstrued.

Okay I can feel my meds kicking in

Amyranth said...

That was me Carrie. I doubleposted by accident.

DW, I see the bird too, but I'm really struck by the blues, the turquoise and the candyapple red.

Night MJ, I miss your word soup from last night, sleep well.

That explains the mess in the kitchen. ;)

but no fair posting right when i went to get coffee. >.<

Carrie said...

But you know what? Annie has the day off tomorrow, and we gotst some finger paint in the basement, so I'm thinking that's something to keep her from saying I'm boooooored tomorrow.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

did j go to sleep?

Amyranth said...

Carrie, I keep a stack of coloring books around for just such an emergency. I have yet to complain to myself that I'm boooorrred.

I don't know art so is that meant to be white or did Mayo miss a spot? That's the eye of the bird I keep seeing.

Amyranth said...

I see a Rooster actually. Above the white spot, you can see the comb.

...

*WON'T SAY IT*

-A

Anonymous said...

Dickweed you'd know birds, right? ;)

Carrie said...

Yeah, I thought it was an eye too. :)

toujours said...

it looks like the eye, dw.

mayo, nice title, too. lol

"combustible cock"

reminds me of a lot of beltane puns.

Carrie said...

Oh my heck!!!! Are you trying to say DW is K? That would be insane troll logic.

Anonymous said...

Sense a theme?

Anonymous said...

No Carrie put your mind back in the gutter for a minute and read it again.

I think DW is closer to Mayo.

Carrie said...

Hmm, switching back and forth between the "sides" to try and keep everyone here? Yeah, I get that.

Carrie said...

Oh, duh! Okay.

Anonymous said...

12:20 it's old.

toujours said...

well, fingerpainting so of course it's almost abstract, which isn't usually to my taste. but the colors really pop, especially against the black, and i like the vigor of it.

in conclusion, i give it a 10. it's got a good beat, and you can dance to it.

Original Punk J said...

Ironically, on the other post I asked, Did I miss anything?

No, J, just a whole new post!

Ok, I see several things:

A starfish.
Snakes.
Rubber gloves.
The dark spot on the top right looks like a black panther's head.

Mayo, Elena will be pleased with your effort.

Amy, DW, I replied to both of you, in case you didn't see my comment on last post.

Amyranth said...

Mayo's painting his cock!

I KNEW IT.

Amyranth said...

J, I replied back with your sketch.

Mayo, I'm on the phone with Elena right now. She's so excited and happy that you took her suggestion. She says she can't wait to get home tomorrow so she can see it. :)

Anonymous said...

No need to "shut up" toujours. I'm sure as well as expressing whatever is it, I'm sure he welcomes your thoughts.

toujours said...

oh, well thank you 12:35. :)

i'm just fully aware that i'm all too capable of rabbitting on about art. on and on.

and on.

Carrie said...

Where did BC disappear too? I wanted to bitch and moan about how bad this damn Breaking Dawn book is. It makes me dizzy, because I roll my eyes so much while I'm reading it!

Amyranth said...

OH CARRIE.

How far along ARE you?

-A

Martha Smith-Jones said...

If I wait long enough it will wear off

BC you need to see the blog all oooooh you do

Amyranth said...

Teej, nothing wrong with rabbiting.

Or bunnying.

Just don't get Hare-y about it!

Yes, I have my own level of Hell. Thanks.

-A

toujours said...

so, you know how closely i read what mayo posts, right? well, that's nothing compared to how i look at art.

and i was looking at the fingerpainting and suddenly wished i could see a larger image. i want to look at how the colors fit together.

so how about it, mayo? could you do like you did with your photograph? could you post a larger size too? please?

Original Punk J said...

No doubt, Amy, that I share it with you. ;) It's lovely there, isn't it? We really should do some redecorating, though. And install some air conditioning.

Carrie said...

Amy, vampire fetus, 'nough said. Actually, she truly lost me at pillow biting. I know she's Mormon and all, but I wanted a little more.

Amyranth said...

Carrie, you've met our darling Renesmee!

Now think of how much worse this whole book could have been, if she'd had a boy.

Edwob Charlisle.

-A

Anonymous said...

Hey again guys.

Carrie, let's just say I'm glad the series is over. When it comes to young adult vampire novels, I prefer reading L.J. Smith

Carrie said...

Ha, not quite that far, but not minding the "spoilage" (at this point, I think the book couldn't get any more rotten, but I could be wrong) And thanks for the rec, BC.

Original Punk J said...

Carrie...gotta ask: why are you still reading it if it's horrible? Are you like me in that you have a hard time laying a book down once you've started it, even if it sucks big ones?

Carrie said...

And seriously? They think they are going to get a moneymaking series of movies out of this?

Amyranth said...

Oh J, honey. I gotta send you some links.

The reason why Twilight is so addictive is because it's god-awful.

Beyond God-awful.

It's so god-awful that no god wants to admit being responsible for it.

-A

Carrie said...

I bought it, with my own cash monies, that's why. If it was a library book, yeah, it probably would have been back by now. Although, I don't know, there is something so deliciously bad about it, I can't resist. It's a junk food book.

Anonymous said...

No problem carrie :)

J, an update on that ronald mcdonald picture: I can't find it. Sorry :/

Original Punk J said...

Speaking of disappearing, DW, where'd you run off to?

Amyranth said...

OMG.

DW (and myself by osmosis) IS MAYO.

(Sorry, I just had to say it before anyone else did.)

-A

Anonymous said...

I would think so carrie. Can you believe that shit? They're marketing the hell outta it.

They're releasing an official guide to the series, but I'm like, what kind of book gets it's own official guide? It's wrong.

They already have t-shirts, even candy marketing it. I heard they're making school supplies on top of it.

Original Punk J said...

That's ok, BC, Martha posted it and a couple others on her blog. You need to check them out!

Carrie, Amy, is it like a car wreck? You might drive by it, but you slow down to look more closely at it? Just because it's awful?

Amyranth said...

Lovelies, goodnight. It's too fucking late now.

For me.

I need to get to bed. :D

Mayo, thank you for sharing your painting with us. This could be an interesting way of communicating, don't you think?

SS, nice to see your shadow darken the doorstep for a moment. Maybe soon you'll take your shoes off and stay awhile? :D

Goodnight everyone.

October 8, 2008 1:07 AM

Right now L has some kind of stomach bug and isn't feeling very well. Overall, though, she's doing pretty well. She hasn't been here lately because of the nasty anons. She says, and I agree with her, that she doesn't have to put up with verbal abuse from people with no supposed identity. (Not referring to you or any other nice anon.) She tends to email those she wants to talk with, or visit their blogs.

Are you the same anon who asked after her before?

ergoproxy said...

yes carrie that is nice

heehee
I feel all smiley now :D
I had no time to hunt the quote out last night, it's so sweet of SS to put it up in it's entirety, it's even nicer in full

Just let her know that despite the hostility that ebbs and flows at this residence, there are still those of us that appreciate her presence and look forward to reading her.

Also tell her to try to keep a positive frame of mind with her health set backs and take each day at a time.

My thoughts are with her :)

TJ we are, really and truly!

Anonymous said...

Thank you J :)

What do you think the varying shades of blue represent, ergo?

Original Punk J said...

I'll let her know about the other things, Ergo, and thanks again!

Anon, I know you didn't ask me, but I had a thought about the blue. Does it maybe indicate cold fire?

toujours said...

oh that's an interesting question.

ergoproxy said...

anon I always find blue such a peaceful calm colour so the use of it over the black and red is unusual, they being quite vibrant colours.
I like the shades of blue Mayo's chosen, they give a type of 3D effect in the "body" area, the pure blue areas really stand out, almost iridescent.
To me choosing blue is portraying lightness, perhaps meaning it's finding light over the darkness? Happiness and calm over hardship and negativity?

or I'm being way to metaphorical

maybe he just likes blue :}

ergoproxy said...

oh J cold fire is a novel concept!

I thought initially it was like water pouring over embers

toujours said...

ergo, in medieval art, blue always represent the virgin mary, her purity and peace and generosity of spirit. that made me think of the heavens -- the color of the sky -- and so to the idea of freedom.

and since a phoenix symbolizes rebirth...

the freedom that comes with recreating oneself?

Original Punk J said...

I like your answers, Ergo.

From what I've read, cold fire was used to describe what supposed magicians, or wizards, would conjure up as an optical illusion. Or a demonstration.

toujours said...

but it's also such a display of opposites...the blue has all the shades of the ocean, not of fire.

Anonymous said...

Interesting ideas. I'm curious as I'm not really an "art" person myself.

ergoproxy said...

that's really interesting TJ

The more you look at the pic the more the blues stand out, though they are less prominent area wise they have a lot of visual impact, like shards of the sky or sea, really pure colour

Original Punk J said...

Meh, who knows, TJ. It just came to me. :)

What's that line, "I may not know much about art, but I know what I like!" Yeah, that's me. L's the artist in this household. It'll be interesting to hear what she thinks about it.

toujours said...

i don't think you have to be an art person to get something out of art, anon. color means something to all of us, and every image will bring up associations personal to you.

what do you see in mayo's painting?

ergo, i also really like the way the streaks of blue end raggedly. they really do suggest feathers, so much so that you can almost see some drifting around.

Anonymous said...

J I liked your idea.

Toujours do you think the color could be representative of some form of boundary.

ergoproxy said...

Anon I like to approach art openly and try to concentrate on the feeling the painting or piece evokes. I can appreciate artistic skill in a piece I don't like but allowing your eyes to lead your emotions is one of the joys of art

toujours said...

i think art is integral to the human condition, j., so your ideas are just as interesting and valid as someone who spent way too much money going to school to study the subject.

*cough*

;)

the phrase "cold fire" is itself really intriguing, i think.

toujours said...

anon, how do you mean?

i'm stuck on the idea of this being an image of a phoenix, which to me is all about breaking boundaries.

now i'm all squinty and thinking! boundaries? hmmmm....

ergoproxy said...

J that is art appreciation though, you might not have fancy words and terms but if you feel it when you look at something then it's done what the artist set out to do

toujours said...

and keeping in mind that half of what we see in a painting wasn't put there by the artist at all. i've gone back and looked at some of my own things and ended up drawing more meaning out of it than i thought was there.

Anonymous said...

It was just a thought to throw out there toujours.

toujours said...

well it has certainly given me something to gnaw on. :)

Original Punk J said...

Thank you, Anon, and thank you TJ and Ergo. Art appreciation isn't my forte, not at all. I'm a left-brain thinker, so I separate every picture I see into individual parts. L's a right-brain thinker, so she sees all pictures in their entirety at once.

toujours said...

j., i kind of go back of forth -- you should see me in a gallery! i stand back from the painting, and then get in real close and take in the details of color and brushstrokes and small items in the painting itself, then back i go to take in the whole thing again.

i must look ridiculous, but i can't help it. :)

Anonymous said...

Goodnight everyone.

Original Punk J said...

Sounds like you're doing the Museum Do-Si-Do, TJ! Distance from the picture doesn't really make that much difference, I still see it in its separate parts. Same for L, she can be right up against one and still see it as a whole.

It's more in how a person's brain works than in proximity to the painting. :D

toujours said...

good night bc, sweet dreams. :)

Original Punk J said...

Goodnight BC! Sweetest of dreams to you. *hugs and kisses*

I hope everyone is doing well, please stay that way! loves -l

Original Punk J said...

No, no, Ergo, that wasn't screaming, it was...shouts of excitement! And what you saw as clawing at our eyes? That was our way of, uh, keeping the image clear in our minds! Yeah, you know, like, if we looked at anything else we might forget your image, and how wrong would that be?

(Am I laying it on too thick?)

Goodnight, and thanks again. :) Sleep well.

Original Punk J said...

Mayo,

Now look, here I was, gettin' a good "mad" on, and you go and do something nice again. You really make it difficult to stay angry with you.

As I wrote, I hoped that anon the other day was wrong. I hoped I was as well. Glad to know the good man's still in there. But remember, the people that care about you, all the ones in your 'real life' and all of us here, still need acknowledgement every once in a while. Don't forget.

Goodnight, Mayo, oh King of Rooster Art. ;)

Original Punk J said...

SS baby,

Thank you for doing that for her. And thank you for every nice thing you've done for me. I appreciate them more than you know.

Goodnight, precious. I love you.

My heart to yours, always.

toujours said...

mayo,

i should properly be more tired than i am. i hope i'll be able to fall asleep!

but this evening has had lots of nice surprises for me. it's been an off-and-on rainy day, and after dinner i took my own advice to you and went outside for a little bit. it was drizzling, and i just stood out there, my eyes closed, soaking in the taste and feel of the rain. it makes the air smell so good.

and then i heard from a friend i met in line at the philadelphia show in may. she and i hit it off instantly, and we spent most of those two days in line together or walking around the neighborhood, talking. she's the one who gave me my ticket to msg, and refused to accept payment for it. standing at the barrier together, she cried with me, to think that i had achieved my dream.

she lives in boston, so we just keep in touch through our ljs and texting -- but tonight she told me that she's going to be in seattle in january! we'll get to see each other -- isn't that wonderful?

and then silliness here, and ss making that post for ergo, and writing, and your post...and looking at art and talking about art gives me the same gentle invigorating rush that standing out in the rain does. which might be weird and silly in itself, but i don't suppose anyone is surprised to hear that about me by now.

it occurred to me, looking at your fingerpainting (again) that as much as i was thinking of it as a little phoenix, my first response was to identify it as a chicken. that puts me in mind of chickens maintaining a pecking order in a coop. they can be very mean about it. i guess we can be that way, too...

the feathers sure do fly around here sometimes, anyway.

well, in any case, i'm sure i'll see much more in this painting of yours before it's replaced by your next post. i'll try not to be too annoying about it. *grin*

(i really would like to see the image in a larger size, but that's just me being greedy.)

it's still raining here, and my window is open, so i'll let the sound of it draw me into restfulness, and so to sleep.

good night mayo. as always, thank you.

miranth said...

Well, I totally didn't expect a new post! And such an eloquent one, at that! I love how imagery reflects emotion that is difficult to express in words.

Hi any lurkers! *waves*

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Feel free to ignore this section. RE: Sat. - It turns out my friends thought that I was already safely on my way home. They left messages to that effect, checking to see if I made the trip home ok. I thought they knew that I had stopped to check the cops' badges, as they were dressed in street clothes and their apprehension of the drunk driver looked a bit harsher than necessary to me. (He was resisting) We were in a neighborhood near a gay club and I was afraid that a hate crime might be in progress. We were in Detroit, so even approaching cops in that situation can be foolhardy - and even I knew a momentary apprehension - though I wander in Detroit all the time when I have my bearings. They thought that my only concern was for them.

Wendy - See above and thanks for asking! How are you and Reeko doing? ;) I looked at some of your videos, but I had trouble with the connection, and I was wondering how the yard is now? I hope the damage wasn't too extensive!

Cuppie! - I read something about a CAT scan? I hope you receive good news. And I hope docs are able to help you, whatever the cause. *hugs*

J - I don't think Mayo knows half the things that go on, to tell you the truth! I know I don't. I remember when I first read the comments for the first few posts here, I was very angry at some of the subtle unkindness (for pleasure, not instruction, might I add) toward people who were just asking a question. I had one or two questions I wanted to ask (unrelated to this blog, really) and I refrained from doing so because of it. Though I did join in later because I like BC and was angry at the vultures circling her.

In any case, I have noticed that we have all grown throughout this experience, and, I think, sometimes people are unaware of the effects of their words. Some anons have said, 'this is just a blog' - but, were that the case, I know I wouldn't be here. It really is a community, and its good to see that you are a part of it. *hugs* Tell L I hope she feels better. :)

OK! I admit - recently, I have done a terrible job of skimming the comments, so I don't have much of a clue. And an even more shoddy job of reading at the blogs. :( Sometimes I read and don't comment cause everyone else already expressed my sentiments better than I could have!

I do recall Sister Midnight being attacked and that pissed me off. As soon as someone cool comes back, those who are jealous attack her!

SisM - Don't take any insults seriously, please, and it was good to see you back here!

Martha - Its wonderful to see you as well, and I am sorry to hear about the lack of job opportunities. I think a lot of people are experiencing that just now. I hope you are feeling well. :)

Mayo, thanks for the post. The picture conveys a feeling of frenzy to me and the 'bird' - were you flipping someone off? :D - looks entangled, like a binding or a connective web. I like TJ's and J's ideas above but I didn't read them before responding.

Along Js line of thought, is the painting supposed to have some magical connotation? I am learning tarot, just now, so I wondered. I find that sometimes I feel confident with it and other times not at all, but I never feel scared of it, though some say I should.

Anyway, sorry for the LONG ramble!

My best wishes go out to all of You!
:)

Take care of yourselves!

Good Morning, Happy Wednesday and all that! I just had to check my date to make sure it was in fact Wednesday and yay me, it is. At least I didn't wake up in yesterday or tomorrow...although that could be...nevermind.

Flammable Fingers. Nice. Bet you never thought you'd be sitting in front of a computer screen having your finger painting analyzed, scrutinized, critiqued, and ooh'd and ahh'd over, did ya? Tell me something. Was it fun? Does it feel good to let loose and create like that? I'm only wondering because I suck at that so hard. I always think that I'm supposed to have this clear ass vision in my head of what I'm trying to create and so I will sit there for sometimes hours with blank paper in front of me and a pen in hand, just waiting. It's the same with writing or drawing. Rather than just letting the stuff spill out of me and let it take the form it takes, I just let it sit there. Because in my head, it's supposed to look like something, it's supposed to be something, it's supposed to make sense to everyone else. It's frustrating as fuck.

I have only in the past year learned to say "fuck that" from time to time and just let my words come out. Now, I know you're sitting there thinking wow, I thought that's what she did every day...babble and ramble. Seems easy enough, right? Nope. Dude, if you only knew how hard it was for me. Now, if I could only do the same with my "art"....

So continued thanks for speaking to us, Mayo. Through your poetry, your posts, your comments, your pics, and your paintings, I am learning to unlock little pieces of myself and that is an amazing thing.

Have a great day!

Love to YOU Always,
S

p.s. Rooster at sunrise, a mask, a ribbon in flames??...etc, etc, and so on and so forth.

Ohhhh....pretty painting!

Good morning/afternoon/evening Mayo, SS, Miranth, Ergo, Amy, Sdock, TJ, Kass!!!!!!, FASC, Lewis, everybody I missed last night; various anons, watchers and lurkers; everyone in all blogbelieve worlds!

How are you all today? Happy, well and managing to get that paint out from under your fingernails, I hope!

Mayo: I like it! I can see Sdock's rooster. Well, parts of it. (the head and tail feathers)

What I really see/what I would have entitled the piece is FIRE AND ICE!! It's those colors. Ohhh...maybe HELL FREEZING OVER!
But, it is your painting and "Flammable Fingers" is an appropriate title, methinks.

Thank you for listening, Mayo!

SS: That was a very lovely thing you did for Ergo! I hope you are well and thank you for listening too!

Ergo: *smoooooooooch*

Kass: It is very good to see you!!!! I have missed you, and your wit, so much! How are you?

J: Great to see you back too!!! How's L? How are those little lambkin nieces of mine?

BC/Sweetcheeks: Did you like the land I offered you? I hope you did! *hugs and kisses*

Miranth: Yes! My yard is back in one piece and the weeds are taking over, again. I must do something about that! Thanks for asking, thanks for watching my videos and thanks in general!!!

I haven't properly caught up so I will just move on to my submission for pondering consideration today:

Who Packed Your Parachute?

Sometimes in the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really important. We may fail to say hello, please, or thank you, congratulate someone on something wonderful that has happened to them, give a compliment, or just do something nice for no reason.

Charles Plumb, a US Naval Academy graduate, was a jet pilot in vietnam. After 75 combat missions, his plane was destroyed by a surface-to-air missile. Plumb ejected and parachuted into enemy lands. He was captured and spent 6 years in a communist Vietnamese prison. He survived the ordeal and now lectures on lessons learned from that experience.

One day, when Plumb and his wife were sitting in a restaurant, a man at another table came up and said, "You're Plumb! You flew jet fighters in Vietnam from the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk.

You were shot down!" "How in the world did you know that?" asked Plumb. "I packed your parachute," the man replied.

Plumb gasped in surprise and gratitude. The man pumped his hand and said, "I guess it worked!" Plumb assured him, "It sure did. If your chute hadn't worked, I wouldn't be here today."

Plumb couldn't sleep that night, thinking about that man. Plumb says, "I kept wondering what he might have looked like in a Navy uniform: A white hat, a bib in the back, and bell bottom trousers. I wonder how many times I might have seen him and not even said good morning, how are you or anything because, you see, I was a fighter pilot, and he was just a sailor."

Plumb thought of the many hours the sailor had spent on a long wooden table in the bowels of
the ship, carefully weaving the shrouds and folding the silks of each chute, holding in his hands each time the fate of someone he didn't know.

Now, Plumb asks his audience, "Who's packing your parachute?"

Everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it through the day. Plumb also points out that he needed many kinds of parachutes when his plane was shot down over enemy territory - he needed his physical parachute, his mental parachute, his emotional parachute, and his spiritual parachute. He called on all these supports before reaching safety. His experience reminds us all to prepare ourselves to weather whatever storms lie ahead. As you
go through this week, this month, this year... recognize people who pack your parachute!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you all 'run into' someone who packed one of your parachutes today. Don't forget to thank them and don't forget to do a little parachute packing yourselves!
Thank you to those who helped pack mine!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
“The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.”
Chosen in response to your artwork, there are so many things we hold onto as material possessions or icons, however it is truly our thoughts and imagination that endure, especially if we are able to share them, no matter how simple. You've created a fantasy/reality here that none of us will forget, good things, difficult things, but definitely completely unforgettable.
Wishing you creativity, humour, freedom and a nice warm bowl of water, fragranced soap and warm fluffy towel to clean your fingers
:]
much love EP xx
SS
“Only as high as I reach, can I grow; only as far as I seek, can I go; only as deep as I look, can I see' only as much as I dream, can I be.”
Again SS think you so much, both for allowing me to read the entire Janet Rand verse but also for putting it somewhere that many people will be able to share in her words. It's a fabulous piece to remind us what we really need to keep in our minds. Tonight I've chosen a quote which I feel extends the thought, that by risking of ourselves we can grow, but also that the only limits we have are those we place upon ourselves.
Sending you wide vistas of opportunity, endless capacity to dream and boundless courage to try
lotsa love
I am somewhat better today. :)
S(S)S, you Lovely, thank you for your new post for Ergoproxy. You are gold. ^_^
Mayo, so, okay, which came first, the combustible cock or the flammable fingers? O_o Either way, do be careful when mixing the two.
Anyways I really like the colors, and I'm fond of the little dot that looks like an eye. (Even though my first thought was, "OMG, Mayo painted my intestines from last week!")
Miss you, dude! :)
Naughty Mayo,
Just what did you paint this thing with anyway? Did you paint with your magic wand or is this a self-portrait?
Anyone else notice the actual name of this picture? (Not what it was titled on page)
Fred did you just simply not read any of the other comments that talked about combustible cock?
Hello Mayo,SS and Lovelies.
I haven’t been here for a couple of weeks partly because I had to get my computer repaired,but also because I needed a break from all the madness that has been going on here lately.
I gotta say this time off was useful though,because I’ve realized that even if said madness hasn’t stopped yet,I love this place and these people too much to give up,and that no matter what some Anons say,I’m not gonna leave because they want us to.
So,Mayo thanks for your new post.
There’s something about your painting that really caught my attention:the particular disposition of colors.
Few years ago I attended a film course,and I remember once our teacher had use analyze the use of colors for the costumes in “Lord of The Rings”.Weird,isn’t it?
Well,he asked us what color is commonly associated with the idea of Good and what with the idea of Evil.Obviously,we answered white in the first case and black in the second.
I’m sure we all know there are two wizards in the movie,a good one and an evil one,but I’m not a fan of the saga so I can’t remember their names.
Anyway,our teacher had us watch a scene in which there are both of them,and the interesting thing is that while one would expect the good one dressed in white and the evil one in black,it’s quite the opposite in the movie because the good wizard is dressed in grey for almost the whole time and the evil one always wears a white tunic.He said that’s a technique “to twist the expectation”
Well,that’s the first thing I noticed in your painting.I don’t know if the figure in the centre is a bird as someone’s suggested,but I find it pretty interesting that you used different shades of blue to paint it and chose to use red for the background while,logically speaking,the colors should be reversed.
This obviously doesn’t mean the painting is wrong, just...unexpected,you know?
And I really like that,Mayo.
So again,thanks for sharing this and for always challenging us.
And for putting Fimble’s story up there. ;)
Take care,hope to see you again soon.
Hey SS,it’s really good to know you’ve been around.
Thanks for what you’ve done for Ergo- and for us.
Those words you’ve posted hide a great lesson,and I’m glad you decided to share them with us.
I know you’re probably disappointed by what’s been going on here in BlogBelieve,and I can’t blame you.But I’m sure things will be back to normal soon.
Keep the faith in us,my friend.
Take care of yourself.
Hey Lovelies and Nice Anons,have a great day!
I owe some of you an email,and I’ll try my best to send them within today.
Take care,hope to see you all later!
Love you.
It's common courtesy in ANY internet forum or anyplace where people are together on the internet, to read a little before posting. Whether this be asking a question that's already been answered a lot of times or pointing out something that's already been pointed out a lot of times and then asking if you are the first one to notice it. That goes for anywhere.
I LOVE the name!!
Nice piccie, Mayo!
What other latent talents do you have to share? Did you paint it with your...? ^__^ ((and down we go!))
Good to see that SS is still rockin' the casbah. That dude RULES.
G'morning BlogBelieve, friends, Lovelies, random Anons, etc.
Happy Humpday, and all dat!
Man, seeing all the awesome creations people here have to share, I really wish I'd been born with art skillz. ((My whanked-out version of a stick figure is too pathetic to even be considered a 'doodle', much less anything shareable.)) I'd even settle for word skillz, so I could post something other than random babble on occasion.
Unfortunately, I had to be gone for a long time to realize how much I missed it here. In spite of the latest shitstorm, I'm really, REALLY glad to be back.
On a rather sucky note, thanks to the rest of BlogBelieve for remembering me. It feels really good to know that gone doesn't necessarily mean forgotten. ^_^
I like how Smoke didn't even acknowledge that this post was to Elena.
I agree with OPJ. I'm glad Mayo is finally talking to the REAL people again.
I thought the Porchies left? But like a bad disease they just keep coming back. Think about it.
elena said...
Anon please don't start this. I suggested to Mayo he do a finger painting. I'm thrilled that he did but it is for everyone here.
sister midnite said...
2:34, lay off the 'Porchies' already.
Fuck, this blog reads like high school, without the academics.
Some people are here for Mayo, and some people are here for each other. Some like to post poetry/jokes/RP blurbs, some like to post every detail of what they did that day. Any way you read it, someone is going to dislike what someone else posted. It takes much less energy to just skip past the things you don't want to read than it does to go on and on over multiple posts about who & what you don't like about it. We're all here because we choose to be, and only Mayo has the presidential veto over what can and cannot be said.
Please, can we finally just forget about the clash of opinions and agree to disagree???
