..and continuing harassment isn't solving anything either
the majority does not automatically make any "rule"
and anons may be people too, and there are many who are lovely to speak to, but those who jump on people for the sake of hassling and accusing are creating a very unpleasant blog for everyone.

Words of wisdom.

Anonymous said...

7:24

Censorship-no; respect-yes.

Respect has been sadly lacking.

Anonymous said...

Majority rule only works if you're also considering individual rights. You can't have five wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for supper.

Anonymous said...

7:27. That is what I'm saying. The poems and the games were disrespectful. Mayo was the ONLY one who encouraged it where the majority of people asked them repeatedly to stop with the poety and the games. That makes it all more obvious that the poetry and games were only for Mayo's attention. The more attention he gave them ...... the more they did it.

Anonymous said...

7:27

That's what it's all about: RESPECT.

And tolerance.

Anonymous said...

hello ergoproxy, 7:20, and 7:24s.
:)

resurrected wreck said...

Hullo, Smiley anon :)

Anonymous said...

That is my point. Once it was clear that only very few people were enjoying the endless poems and quotes and games, and everyon ELSE, a VAST majority BEGGED them to stop, they didn't stop. That is a lack of respect. I think we are making the same point.

Anonymous said...

7:27, likewise, you are not respecting their right to express themselves.

Anonymous said...

hello resurrected wreck and all other anons.
:)

Anonymous said...

I'm not 7:27 but my point is that they can express themselves where it doesn't outright bother people. No one is making them stop writing poetry. But this is not the place for it when he majority of people here disagree with it.

Anonymous said...

How many of Mayo's posts have been poems? Funny how that never seemed to bother anyone...

Anonymous said...

Mayo was the ONLY one who encouraged it where the majority of people asked them repeatedly to stop with the poety and the games.

This is Mayo's blog. You acknowledge he enjoyed the poetry and games. What right do you have to tell another person to modify their behavior, to stop them doing something that the author of this blog clearly enjoyed?

Anonymous said...

Because they did it so much. There were hundreds of poems in that one night alone. And when others asked them to stop that showed they were being disrespectful to others. It also proved that they were doing it to get Mayo's attention. It destroyed the unity of the blog. Sign in you stupid porchie.

Anonymous said...

Hey RW, Amy, Ergo, smiley anon, other anons.

Anonymous said...

I am trying to logically follow your argument 7:33.

How does it differ when someone is constantly talking about the events in their lives here on a daily basis? Is that not "attention seeking" according to your definition?

Maybe some here find it unstimulating, but they tolerate it.

ergoproxy said...

hi anon :)

well I have just chopped 4 kg of tomatoes and it's on to boil

anons this has been done over and over
I think you have made your points, and thanks for remaining civil
but could we leave it now?

what are you up to RW? Amy? Anons?

Anonymous said...

Sign in you stupid porchie.

When you resort to name calling, you have lost your ability to reason in a level headed manner, and you are thinking emotively.

resurrected wreck said...

Hi, BC :)

*SQUEEZE!*

Anonymous said...

Following the logic you are applying, if I were to say that the constant derogatory remarks directed at the 'porchies' bothers me, then it should stop. (Or perhaps be limited to one derogatory comment a day)

Why do you assume that because I disagree with you, that I am a 'stupid Porchie'? I can assure you I am not.

Anonymous said...

To answer 7:38. Because those people are talking to each other and just chatting with each other, instead of writing aimless poetry.

Anonymous said...

Amy knows what is right for the blog. She told people to take their Gerard bashing to Verita Venom's. She told them to stop posting poetry and to let other people have some of Mayo's attention. She knows how this blog should be run.

Anonymous said...

Mayo enjoyed the games and the poetry. Why would you want to take that away from him?

ergoproxy said...

hi BC

Anonymous said...

But Mayo was in the minority.

Anonymous said...

Hi RW *SQUEEZES back* how was your day?

Anonymous said...

Amy knows what is right for the blog. She told people to take their Gerard bashing to Verita Venom's. She told them to stop posting poetry and to let other people have some of Mayo's attention. She knows how this blog should be run.

You aren't doing Amy any favors. This is not Amy's blog. This is Mayo's blog.

Anonymous said...

I don't think he enjoyed it when it got out of hand and the other lovelies started to get upset.

And again Amy wasn't trying to RUN the blog. She was merely giving suggestions. She said what she thought those peoples motives were for doing what they did, and that they shoudl stop it. She gave her OPINION that Kapunua was pretty much asking to lose her job. She gave her OPINION and SUGGESTIONS. That is different from lording it over and trying to decide how the blog was run.

Or filling it up with poetry and meaningless tv quotes.

Anonymous said...

7:42 mature adults work with each other in solving problems.

Again you bring up Mayo, which appears what could be the source of the problem. Getting his attention, that is.

Anonymous said...

YOu shouldn' speak for Mayo.

Anonymous said...

But Mayo was in the minority.

Imagine a prison with 1000 inmates and 20 prison wardens. Every inmate says they should be released, the prison wardens disagree, but they are in the minority.

Anonymous said...

But this is not a prison and Mayo is not a warden. It is a community were the poetry and quote and games groups were dissing the rest of us.

Anonymous said...

Mayo said this blog belongs to everyone. If that's the case then we should be the ones to decide how to run it. The majority agree with Amy. Majority rules.

Anonymous said...

Then to follow your argument 7:41, it could be argued it is precisely the same thing. Always talking about themselves to obtain "attention".

ergoproxy said...

How about the fact the people involved have said numerous times that they made the decision to leave Mayo's and do not appreciate the fact that they are still repeatedly discussed in their absence and would like it to stop?
How about you respect their wishes?

Anonymous said...

But they were talking to EACH OTHER. All Amyranth said to the othe rpeople was that they should give the stage to them once in a while.

Anonymous said...

They never respected our wishes so why should we respect theirs?

Anonymous said...

If you want to talk shit about Kapunua there is a blog for that too. Dickweed's blog. Kapu isn't here so stop bringing her up and take it over there. THis is clutter.

resurrected wreck said...

I'm good, BC :) Gonna head over to the mall now to get a curtain rod. Doing a bit more decorating this weekend.

How are you today?

Anonymous said...

She told them to stop posting poetry and to let other people have some of Mayo's attention

If Mayo wanted to give other people attention, he would have done so, regardless of whether Kapunua and her friends were around. If you believe that their very presence stopped Mayo from paying attention to other people then you are are giving too much credit to them, and not enough to Mayo.

Anonymous said...

Then to follow your argument 7:41, it could be argued it is precisely the same thing. Always talking about themselves to obtain "attention".

And you also talk about them constantly, giving them even more attention.

Anonymous said...

They never respected our wishes so why should we respect theirs?

You just lost the debate.

Anonymous said...

7:51, but they didn't leave any space for others to talk, too. That's just not fair and you know it. You can't scroll past it when it takes up over 70% of the blog, you just can't.

Anonymous said...

Some of you feel excluded and invisible.

That's the real problem. Not the poetry, (which was months ago) Not Kapunua, Not Mayo.

Your own feelings of self worth.

resurrected wreck said...

Well, I'm heading out again for a bit.

Have fun, all :)

Anonymous said...

But they were talking to EACH OTHER.

No?! Really? Outrageous!

All Amyranth said to the othe rpeople was that they should give the stage to them once in a while.

The whole blog is a stage, the 'opposing' sides very rarely inhabit this space at the same.

Anonymous said...

What about all the quotes from films and tv shows that the rest of us didn't get? That was not months ago.

Anonymous said...

7:53 it is clear you harbor a deep resentment towards these people and your argument may emanate from this feeling.

ergoproxy said...

7:50
if that is how you feel-
two wrongs don't make a right.
How about you try?, maybe you'll starts a precedent.
Plus seeing as this wasn't the current topic of discussion prior to it being brought up again, it is not very respectful of anyone else at this blog at the moment either

Anonymous said...

Anons, stop speaking for Mayo. You are not Mayo so don't tell others what he liked and didn't like. Only Mayo can say that.

Anonymous said...

That's good RW. I took a warm bath to help ease my arthritis, but right now it's uncomfortably hot outside. Today we hit about 77 degrees, so I'm sweating :/

Anonymous said...

Which boils down again to feelings of exclusion 7:57.

Anonymous said...

Ergoproxy. YOU were one of the ones asking them to stop posting so much poetry.

ergoproxy said...

bye RW!

I'll put the ketchup recipe at my kitchen , if you ever want to try it, you can decrease the quantities (it's a recipe for 2kg, makes about 1.25L)

Anonymous said...

You can't scroll past it when it takes up over 70% of the blog, you just can't.

70%? Do you still feel the majority should rule?

ergoproxy said...

Anonymous said...

Enjoy your shopping RW :)

Anonymous said...

Not all of us can run out and see every movie that's playing in the local cinema. We don't care what Kirk Lazurus said in Tropic Thunder.

Anonymous said...

But lyrics and hearts and pictures and many other things interrupt your conversations now, why is it any different?

Anonymous said...

Smoke said...

Okay, I've got something to say to you and I'm saying it here because basically, Mayo's is not the place for it. It's not my blog and it's not your blog. It doesn't belong to any of us. It's his.

I didn't agree with your 'fix'. I still don't. Explain to me the difference between me quoting American Psycho and you talking about a sack of potatos. Explain to me the difference between me posting song lyrics and you writing a goodnight story to Mayo. Explain to me the difference between me talking about what I did at work today and you talking about what you did at work today.

Can you explain that for me?

You can't because there is no difference. And if you think there is then that's just a tad hypocritical, don't you think?

If you have any respect at all for Mayo's blog then you know that it's not for any one person or group to try and control. Only he has the right to do that.

That's just my $.02 for what it's worth.

Anonymous said...

Some of us are struggling to make our mortgage payment and don't have money to waste on films and DVDs.

Anonymous said...

Oh no, someone disagrees with Amyranth the Queen. Off with their heads!

Anonymous said...

Anons, stop speaking for Mayo. You are not Mayo so don't tell others what he liked and didn't like. Only Mayo can say that.

Clearly Mayo did like the poetry, or he wouldn't have put it on his front page. SS clearly also likes the quotes and poetry as you can see from his recent post. SS also used to play along with the games.

Anonymous said...

Stop trying to win the argument by making people think you are Mayo or SS.

Anonymous said...

Mayo himself said the blog belongs to everyone.

So Amyranth had every right to post what she did.

Anonymous said...

But nobody else liked it and this place is supposed to be a COMMUNITY.

Anonymous said...

Mayo himself said the blog belongs to everyone.

So Amyranth had every right to post what she did.

As did the 'porchies'

Anonymous said...

Stop trying to win the argument by making people think you are Mayo or SS.

How would that win an argument?

gnothi seauton said...

... let other people have some of Mayo's attention.

Why on earth would people want to fight for Mayo's attention?

Good Night Mayo.
* appreciates the irony in that statement *

TTFN

Anonymous said...

But all Amyranth did was suggest a way to make things better, which was for them to let others have the stage sometimes and stop monopolizing things. The poetry and movie quotes were endless and they bothered a LOT of people.

Anonymous said...

8:07 Amyranth has that right.

So has everyone else.

However it is clear what is lacking is tolerance for peoples differences in taste and conversation.

That is being labeled as "attention seeking".

Anonymous said...

I never saw Amyranth post something over and over again to deliberately piss people off.

This is the thing. Amyranth is here for family, the 'porchies' are here for Mayo only.

Anonymous said...

The "attention seeking" was what they were doing with their constant posts about what they did all day, the poems, the movie quotes etc. That was all for Mayo's benefit.

Anonymous said...

Stop trying to win the argument by making people think you are Mayo or SS.

*laughs* Winning an "argument" is a loss.

It is about trying to see things from each other's perspective.

Anonymous said...

How do you know it was for Mayo's benefit? I liked the movie quotes. They were fun.

Anonymous said...

That is being labeled as "attention seeking".

It's labbeled as attention seeking because that's what it is. these people are here for Mayo only, they dont care about anyone else but Mayo and themselves. They will post their "witty" poetry again and again just to make sure Mayo sees it and responds to it. That is attention seeking. That's what they do.

Anonymous said...

It is about trying to see things from each other's perspective.

Well you are not trying to see things from anyones perspective but you own. Youre trying to warp everyones mind into thinking they are wrong. maybe you should be more open.

Anonymous said...

I liked the K-Wreck comments and the time people were coming up with song names for the next MCR record. Those things were fun.

Anonymous said...

This hit it's head when Dickweed did the right thing. He told Kapu that talking about her friend's suicide attempt was Kapu's own call for attention. He did the right thing. It's about time someone said it.

Anonymous said...

I never saw Amyranth post something over and over again to deliberately piss people off.

ORLY? You think she just has anons that adore her and her 'fix'?

Anonymous said...

You mean the night she had the grace to talk to the sisters before that happened, and everyone else just went on talking about their own lives? Yeh I remember that.

gnothi seauton said...

To all Anons.

But why does anyone want his attention? I don't understand that.

Anonymous said...

Ask Amyranth that question, GS.

Anonymous said...

8:15 again you assume things, like so many other assumptions you have made.

It is not about right and wrong. You are trying to paint it this way.

Anonymous said...

Amy thinks she is talking to GW, not GV.

Anonymous said...

Ask the porchies GS. they were the ones who took up most of the space on the blog with the poetry, the games the quotes. Ask them.

Anonymous said...

Exactly Gnothi.

Anonymous said...

"ORLY? You think she just has anons that adore her and her 'fix'?"

Regardless of what you may think, I do not believe that was her posting over and over. I don't think you realize how many others agree with what she wrote. But there is no point in explaining it to you because you will only believe what you want to believe. Maybe in a few years you will understand.

Anonymous said...

Ask the porchies. Afterall there the ones who swoon over Mayo.

Anonymous said...

A lot of people are jealous of Amyranth.

Anonymous said...

You want to fix things at Mayonaise's? Why not give the stage to someone else once in awhile?

I think this quote speaks for itself with regards to who wants Mayo's attention.

Anonymous said...

Kapu already said she had a crush on him and then she kissed him. Talk about wanting attention....

ergoproxy said...

That's unfair. If you are going to apply that theory to one you must apply it to all, myself included.

Ask the porchies GS. they were the ones who took up most of the space on the blog with the poetry, the games the quotes. Ask them.

I saw all that as conversation.

Anonymous said...

Thank you Gnothi, the point I was trying to get across.

Anonymous said...

People here address Mayo directly. They write goodnights and good mornings to him. They write stories and poems for him. And you ask who wants Mayo's attention?

You were joking, right?

Anonymous said...

You saw THAT as conversation? Really? Funny how you never see them do that over at DM where Mayo can't see them anymore. Point proven.

Anonymous said...

8:32

Sorry, you are wrong. They are posting the same things to each other.

Anonymous said...

Funny how you never see them do that over at DM where Mayo can't see them anymore.

What makes you think he can't see them?

gnothi seauton said...

And you ask who wants Mayo's attention?

I said why do they want Mayo's attention. Not who.

As for myself I always acknowledge Mayo as I was brought up to greet my host.

Hi Ergo ^_^ I was on my way to bed but I got distracted by the debate.

Anonymous said...

8.34

Do you see them at DM writing 300 posts in one day of just poetry and character quotes?

Anonymous said...

I see a bunch of people who get along with each other over there, even if they seem a little dis spirited about the whole thing.

Anonymous said...

I said why do they want Mayo's attention.

Beats the hell out of me. I think because a lot of them really do think he's GW.

gnothi seauton said...

You saw THAT as conversation?

Yes.

Anonymous said...

Ok but my point has been proven.

Anonymous said...

8:37 (second) I agree.

8:37 (first) you are exaggerating and assuming all the posts came from them

Anonymous said...

Ok but my point has been proven.

Proven in your own head, nowhere else.

Anonymous said...

Everyone is here for their own reasons. Even you.

Anonymous said...

Everyone is here for their own reasons. Even you.

Yes, yes and ... yes.

Tolerance is the key.

gnothi seauton said...

Beats the hell out of me. I think because a lot of them really do think he's GW.

Interesting. So then that leads to the question ... if Mayo is GW, what does he make of it all.

Then we trudge through the quagmire that is the never ending saga of ' attention seeking, needy, game playing, socially inept Gerard '.

And that's a discussion I really can't be bothered to hash over again.

Everyone is here for their own reasons. Even you.

Oh yes, definitely, that I readily admit.

You don't like the way people vie for Mayos attention.

What, are you trying to mold this into what you want it to be?

The owner of this blog is happy with all of the different people and their thoughts and opinions that participate here. Who are you to rock this boat?

Start your own blog and delete all of the comments that you don't care to see...that is if anyone will leave any comments for you.

RW - why? Raspberries to that missus.

Hiya BC ^_^

Amyranth said...

RW, in spades. I have a tidy little blister on my finger, and one styrofoam ball is 1/4 wrapped with hair.

So, I need to find new glue. Something slightly runny, so the wig fibre sort of coats itself, instead of using GOOP (which melts styrofoam) or hot glue (which burns like OW!).

Styrofoam glue it is, I suppose... Good thing I work at a craft store.

Amyranth said...

Sailor Moon's buns. Hair buns. It puts less stress on the wig cap when you use a short wig and attach styrofoam balls wrapped with hair. Then you add extensions and voila! A wig that is wearable, but not so top heavy it slips off, or gives you a migraine.

I suppose because this is where it all started and on the occasions that we did go elsewhere we all naturally gravitated back here. It's kind of a base I guess.

Anonymous said...

Amyranth, could you answer the question?

People feel ignored. 110%. Not just me. Not just anyone. Everyone. Lots of other people. I have watched other blues (and I will not name names, that's up to them) come in, with no animosity towards anyone, and get ignored. I've seen blues yell at people who weren't signed in just because Anon was the title. We've had people who have lurked here for months finally decide to speak up and say something, not necessarily negative, mind you. And they've been snapped at. Told that they were idiots.

I know of a very cool person here who had that happen to them. Now? They don't sign in. They don't want the confrontation.

Why should anyone be made to feel that way?

-A

No 'Hello' back. No "How's it going?/How was your day?".

I mentioned in my post that there hasn't been a welcoming feeling here for awhile. Half the time I'd come here and lurk for awhile, until people came on that I felt comfortable talking with.

Actually, that's "twisted words" thanks. It's not like I signed in as Amyranth, and made a big fuss over the fact that nobody I wanted to speak to was online.

Anything else?

Hallo MJ! I missed you earlier as well.

What did you pick up at the store?

I actually don't remember Amy. I only know that I had it for a long while now. What usually works for me when I get it is rubbing alcohol, it works wonders.

I'm trying my best to take care of my leg, and I have a small brace to help protect it from the cold.

Ergo, I think I have a heating pad, only problem is, I'm not sure where to find it :/

I have never considered moving into a warmer climate. Well, maybe Nevada but that's about it.

Hello EP, BC, Amy, RW,GS and anons. Don't worry about missing me Gs. It happens.

ep I might just give up for a bit on the melon.

you want to make the "porchies" sound like angels and like they are always right.

Firstly, I am not 9:29.

Secondly you are labeling people and appear to have a rigid way of thinking.

Thirdly 9:29 has a point.

I didn't twist your words, I quoted you directly. You not only said "everyone" but 110% of the people here.

If you were uncomfortable talking to a certain group of people, why did it bother you if they just talked to each other? If they made you uncomfortable as you said, then why does it matter to you who they say hi to?

gnothi seauton said...

Amy - very nice. You're not going to stretch your legs to that bizarre length are you?

Anonymous said...

Many of you are jealous of Amyranth.

That is such a convenient statement to make when you have nothing of any benefit to make.

you've got to be fucking kidding.

EXCELLENT point. Perhaps the ones not saying hi were made to feel uncomfortable too.

I don't think anyone is scoring any points with the teenie 'ur jus jelluzzz!!!11!' argument.

Save that shit for buzznet.

Thanks GS. I kinda feel bad that I don't have any of the items you guys suggested :(

Usually my arthritis doesn't get too bad. My leg is somewhat getting better, but I'll keep it under care as much as I can.

Amyranth said...

BC, I think you need to move somewhere REALLY warm.

Like... Fiji. It's for health reasons, you know.

MJ, how's that blueberry sorbet? I've never had anything other than orange and mango.

Amyranth and others have answered your question. You don't like their answers so you are refusing to accept them as answers. They have told you they answered your questions. They have told you how they felt. Yes, feelings. Their feelings. I think it's time for you to move on.

We could try one more question if you would like. Would that satisfy your thirst for your logic?

Was that your final answer, your final explanation Amyranth?

If the answer to that question is yes, you really need to move on 9:26 and 9:29. Unless you enjoy badgering Amyranth.

I certainly don't enjoy watching you do it.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Amy I haven't tried it yet. right before I use it for smoothies I take a little tastes.

Bc have you been to the doctor for your arthritis ?

Anonymous said...

I like badgers.

Anonymous said...

No, no more questions. Amyranth, you are allowed to treat people the way you complain about others being treated. You are allowed to say things you don't let anyone else say. You are allowed to post the things you do all day and no one else is. The blog is yours. I will observe elsewhere. *bows*

I don't like badgers without fur. Bald badgers aren't pretty.

It is what I had been trying to say all along. About feelings, of being hurt and not being validated.

Some think more logically not emotively, so sometimes it is not badgering.

If you want to talk shit about Kapunua there is a blog for that too. Dickweed's blog. Kapu isn't here so stop bringing her up and take it over there. THis is clutter.

*BIG NEON FUCKING SIGN*
Excuse me but this demands a reply. MY blog does not talk shit about her. Get your damn facts straight.
Of course, I have no way to take this up with you directly.

Anyone with a damn heart will see Amyranth's side of it. It doesn't have to make sense. It is what she feels and she has to treat people how she feels is right. To HER.

"What exactly is the difference between what is going on now, with people talking, and what the "porchies" used to always do?"

BC - keeping warm seems to be the best cure for the time being.

Right, it is nearly 3 and I need my bed.

Amy - good luck with the wig.

Ergo - speak to you soon.

MJ - take care.

RW - have you gone? I'll still owe you an e-mail. See you soon.

Anons - I don't think I'll ever understand this.

George Orwell Anon - indeed.

Good night All.
Good night Mayo.

"What bothers me is when the posts are nothing but blather. Posting as TV characters, posting poetry constantly, especially when it's randomly inserted into a conversation, posting song lyrics when nobody's discussing songs. Stuff like that.

That's where I think there is a lack of respect. I've lurked many times on the blog, with nothing of worth to say. So I don't say anything. Is that impossible for everyone to do? I don't think so. Do you?"

Let AMYRANTH decide what is "of worth" to say. It's what she feels.

Amyranth has asked people to stop copying her blog and posting it here. She has explained her position, her feelings. She does not keep bringing it up. Others do.

When you go on for two weeks about it, when someone keeps being questioned about something they wrote on their personal blog, I think that is entering badger territory.

It is time to move on.

That is my $0.02.
