Cereal monogamy

On the front porch
Laughing and crying all at once
She has no idea the vodka belongs on the shelf
Orange juice beside the milk

It is the same front porch
That whispered baseball calls
To my bedroom window
As I peered down enticed

In time, now stumbling forward
Often infused by the same mixture
I recall her laughter was not quite right
And mine often sounds the same

From the front porch I forgive
As any good lesson I read
And now in her face reflected
The moment that I returned

p.s. in the never-ending battle to match wits.

Hello Mayo, SS, ....

O_O

ERGO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome home!!!!!!!!!

*grabs Ergo by the wrists and twirls her 'round and 'round ~ after giving her a big hug and a huge smoooooooooooooch*

I've missed you so much! It's great to have you back. Thank you so much for the updates and Ray adventure photos! And, a special thank you for my goodies. I loved them!!!! I shall have to e-mail you the name of my roo. It's a seeeekrat! ;)

Hi TJ, Sweetcheeks, J, Cupcake, Amy, Elena, various anons, various watchers and various lurkers.

I can't stay long tonight. I just wanted to give Ergo a proper "welcome home" and say a few things. So, here we go!

TJ: That's great news about your sister! Please give her a proper welcome home (tomorrow) for me!

Sweetcheeks: Even though I was a bit disappointed in your answer (not in you) to question #6 you scored a perfect 161 and 1/16 points on that pop quiz. Once again, the highest score in the class!!! This has earned you a third tiara which will be exchanged for the full blown crown (in all its splendor and glory)!

Concerning which is cuter, a puppy or a kitten: I think they are equally precious, cute and awww inducing. Baby bunnies too!!! All those other little critters were quite adorable as well!

Now, regarding that sarcastic insult to my Cupcake: She's not just a beautiful, tempting, tantalizing cake. She is one smart cookie! And, a damn fine torch singer!!! Perhaps someone should learn to never judge a book by it's cover. (Whether it looks dull, tired and boring OR glossy, new and pretty.) You might just miss a damn good and interesting read.

Well, I suppose that is all (for now). I must be off. I have a dancing date tonight! My mop and broom are my partners! ;)

Have fun, everyone. Have a great night and sweet dreams to one and all!!!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
6/Wendy

PS: Once again, WELCOME HOME ERGO!!!!!!!!

PPS: Hi PJ, L, Sparkle and my brand new lambkin niece Twinkle!!!!

You're still disappointed in that HIM beanie incident, huh sugarplum? ^_^

I'm afraid it will have to stay there. It will take me a long time just to find that darn thing, and there's plenty of spiders(And they do hide in some of the clothes) in my garage so :/

*smothers with sloppy kisses and super hugs*

I'm glad to hear I passed the test. Woo! Thank you for the third sparkling tiara!!

Twinkle says "babaa, baa baaba." (It's all lower-case cause she's a baby.) (It says "Hewwo, Aunt Wendy.")

L and Sparkle send their love, too. Have fun dancing!

Anon, puppies are cute too, but kittens, well, nothing can compare. Like Wendy said, baby bunnies are right up there in the cuteness factor. Most baby animals are cute, I find.

The "meatloaf" is also sometimes known as the "football", Ergo. Same move, different names. :)

Monty and Phil are wonderful, they still keep up with the transplanted Aussie animals here in the USA. They say "g'day Miss E!" and "thanks for all your help before".

Twinkle sits between them on the computer desk. They're all the same size. :D And we have a WWF polar bear over here, too, named Esby, and a Ty kangaroo with a baby, named Pouch. Quite the menagerie!

BC, what's all this about tiaras?

ergoproxy said...

thanks anon :)

we cruised the river in a hired pontoon with a bbq and all, fished a bit and saw so many crocs

ergoproxy said...

well the Croikey is the way it's usually put to imitate Steve Irwin saying Crikey!

we pretty much called that one "holy fuck that's huge!"

it did have massive teeth, and the colour is from tea tree staining, it's not blood or anything

Did you see any nastee insects ergo?

ergoproxy said...

no we didn't really 1:27, there were some mozzies about and march flies, and normal flies but nothing else, it's the dry season so a lot of stuff is hiding away
Got a cool pic of a spider, but mostly we were more concerned with the "snapdragons"

Goodnight TJ, sweet dreams *blows kisses*

J, I'm assuming the tiaras are mostly white diamonds but perhaps there's some yellow ones too ^_^

mayo,

tonight i considered (with the non-feline part of my mind) not your poem but the timing of it. i'm not complaining, but it does make me wonder. did something happen? or were you just being mayo-esque?

i do hope you are well.

i'm too tired to think of much to write to you tonight. half of me is happy about my sister (for a lark today i bought her a magic marker coloring book and we colored pages in it there on her hospital bed. *grin*), but underneath it lurks my usual fears, about money, about home, about belonging -- or to be more accurate, never belonging again.

my shadow thoughts. always with me.

does that mean i'm sad? does that mean i'm happy? no. we forget how complex we all are. we read one fragment of a person's self posted on a blog, ad even if it is a true and honest fragment, it's just a single shard.

we contradict ourselves everyday, and it's not a case of being good and evil, it's a case of being solidly and thoroughly human. thinking, dreaming, self-aware animals.

i'm scared for myself, and laugh with my friends and my sister, all at once. you're "great", and busy, but you can be a hundred other things as well without making the first a lie.

let me quote myself to prove my point: i'm too tired to think of much to write to you tonight.

yes, totally ridiculous.

good night, mayo. sweet dreams.

*hops up onto the couch*

*folds self into a furry grey meatloaf*

Goodnight 1.27, I don't know you but you seem very nice. Please come back again!

Goodnight Ergo, welcome back and I'm glad you had such a great time!

Goodnight Mayo, I was kind of hoping we'd find out by now which cereal you've pledged loyalty to, but perhaps it's too intimate to share. Ah well, noble intentions and all that. ;)

Hugs and kisses all round--see you tomorrow!

Mayo

Well I survived spending the day with my mom. I’m kidding, you know. I love my mom not that she doesn’t drive me insane sometimes but I love her all the same. Lately there have been some things come up that have me really concerned about her. Things that have made me stop and think. Things that are giving me an ominous feeling. Shit, I hope I’m way off with that feeling. I guess time will tell as it always does.

Anyway we visited different bookstores today. Yeah, I own a bookstore and I spend my day off in bookstores. Hey, they may have something I don’t so I have to check. While in one of them I came across a book that I love and I thought to myself, “Self, I bet Mayo would love this book too.” (Yep, I totally said it that way). The book is “Boy’s Life” by Robert McCammon. Usually you will find this book in the horror section because that is predominately what he writes. And while this book does have a lot of horror elements it’s so much more. When I read this book years ago my dad had just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. It was the beginning of his downward spiral. For quite some time the doctors blamed all his symptoms on that disease. They were wrong. He had cancer and it eventually claimed his life. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him. But I’m off topic again. The point I was trying to make is to warn you. The book made me cry (it’s a dad thing) and honestly that rarely happens. I really hope you find a copy.

Well shit, I’ve got tons of stuff to get done so I’ll take my leave. Hope your day was a good one filled with moments that made you realized how wonderful life can truly be.

Night Mayo

so nice to be back, and to feel so welcomed back also. It feels good to know I am part of something. It's so easy to become disconnected, by choice or predicament and really I had no idea I actually had a hole in my life that could be filled by being part of a virtual little community. I consider myself quite fortunate to have been able to be part of this and meet so many varied and interesting people. That's the problem I guess, sometimes we don't realise that there is a hole there. We are quite sure our life is as it should be, not that I mean everything is hunky dory always, but that we don't know how much better it could be, as we don't know what we are missing. Perhaps that little blog shaped hole could have been filled with other things or people, and I would have gone on, none the wiser. But feeling as I feel now, I have been blessed to find this, and the people therein, you included of course. So thanks.:)
Wishing you happy days, fulfilment, friendship and belonging
much love EP xx

I don't know 6.43. The porchies have done too much to alienate people and drive them apart. The constant poetry was done to be nasty and disruptive and get attention. And they all fell on the side of it. Fimble Star has proven to be untrust-worthy by pulling the stunt with the OP'S fake post and Smoke backed her up on that. They all did. I feel they have done too much.

Anonymous said...

Unless the "day crew" would admit to their wrong-doings I don't think it could ever really be the same. Even the greetings between them we all saw seemed forced and fake.

OPJ doesn't try to fake it though.

Anonymous said...

The "night crew" and the rest of them, all they ever really did was say how they feel about certain people. Their honesty was refreshing.

Amyranth said...

All I have to say is this:

When faith alone is not enough,
To keep our heads barely above,
We look for reason and come up empty-handed.
And when our children fight our wars,
while we sit back just keeping score,
Were teaching murder not understanding now.

We're setting the fires to light the way,
We're burning it all to begin again,
With hope in our hearts and bricks in our hands,
We sing for change.

The lives our buried sons have laid,
Won't cancel debts we've yet to pay in death,
We justify anything now,
As long as we blindly obey and do exactly what they say,
We'll have no one to blame but ourselves now.

We're setting the fires to light the way,
We're burning it all to begin again,
With hope in our hearts and bricks in our hands,
We sing for change.

We run on the fumes of injustice,
We'll never die with the fuel that you give us,

Keep it coming 'cause I'm prepared to burn,
Keep running from me at every turn.

Your life around,
(into something true, into something true)
So turn your life around,
(into something true, something true)

We're setting the fires to light the way,
We're burning it all to begin again,
With hope in our hearts and bricks in our hands,
We sing for change.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Judge by the Looks
A lady in a faded gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston, and walked timidly without an appointment into the president's outer office. The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had no business at Harvard and probably didn't even deserve to be in Cambridge. She frowned.
"We want to see the president," the man said softly.
"He'll be busy all day," the secretary snapped.
"We'll wait," the lady replied.
For hours, the secretary ignored them, hoping that the couple would finally become discouraged and go away. They didn't. And the secretary grew frustrated and finally decided to disturb the president, even though it was a chore she always regretted to do. "Maybe if they just see you for a few minutes, they'll leave," she told him. And he sighed in exasperation and nodded. Someone of his importance obviously didn't have the time to spend with them, but he detested gingham dresses and homespun suits cluttering up his outer office. The president, stern-faced with dignity, strutted toward the couple.
The lady told him, "We had a son that attended Harvard for one year. He loved Harvard. He was happy here. But about a year ago, he was accidentally killed. And my husband and I would like to erect a memorial to him, somewhere on campus". The president wasn't touched he was shocked.
"Madam," he said gruffly, "we can't put up a statue for every person who attended Harvard and died. If we did, this place would look like a cemetery."
"Oh, no," the lady explained quickly, "we don't want to erect a statue. We thought we would like to give a building to Harvard.
The president rolled his eyes. He glanced at the gingham dress and
homespun suit, then exclaimed, "A building! Do you have any earthly idea how much a building costs? We have over seven and a half million dollars in the physical plant at Harvard." For a moment the lady was silent.
The president was pleased. He could get rid of them now.
The lady turned to her husband and said quietly, "Is that all it costs to start a University? Why don't we just start our own?" Her husband nodded. The president's face wilted in confusion and bewilderment.
Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stanford walked away, traveling to Palo Alto, California where they established the University that bears their name, a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about!
Hello RW!!!!! How are you tonight? Did you do any of that trim painting yet? Have those black panties been returned? Did the viking finish pillaging and plundering Martha? ;)
I shall look forward to hearing your answers (and hopefully chatting a bit)~ at the midnight feast! I hope someone else did the cooking. If not, we shall be feasting on air. I was trapped!
Today on my way home from class, I stopped off at the petrol station for some petrol. I paid on my card which wasn’t a lot, and then as I was getting into my car, I saw an old man walking past the building. He had a red and green stripy jumper which was frayed at the ends. He was also wearing some jeans that were dirty and had holes all over.
I sat there and became intrigued by him because I didn’t know what he was doing, so as I sat there and watched him, he continued doing what he set out to do.
He walked past the trash cans and first picked out a cup with some drink still in it (one of the cups that you get from burger king that has coke in it). He then walked over to the next trash can and pulled out the end of a half eaten sandwich. In my shock horror, he ate it and then went to sit on the wall to drink the drink he had found.
I felt sad, I wanted to give him my last $4 that I had but I was told when I was younger that you should never give people money, you should give them something they need or can use because that way, if they had an addiction, they would not be able to use the money for their addiction. So I went into the shop and bought a chicken sandwich from their deli counter and then walked out of the building.
The guy was still sat at the wall drinking his drink so I walked up to him and asked him if he would like this sandwich. He thanked me and said that he was hungry.
I should of felt good after that, doing something for someone else but all I could think of is where his next meal will come from or where in fact he will sleep tonight.
Hi guys,
Fimble, what you did was a wonderful thing. You did what you could.
Perhaps ongoing work with the homeless would make you feel better. Just remember, we can't save everyone.
I empathize with how you're feeling though. *hugs*
I see a lot of people homeless aroudn this part and it just makes you open your eyes that little wider.
Hello all. Again, in for a moment, then back later tonight as per usual.
To the Anon/s who have been, uh, "taking up" for me: I appreciate the sentiment, but please, don't. People here know how I am after a year of being around me. They've made their minds up already on whether they like me or not. It's their choice.
We've all been exposed to so much negativity from outside sources. That started almost as soon as Mayo's came into existence. At first we all pulled together and "closed ranks", for the good of the Family. Remember when we were a Family? That was an amazing time, not just for us but for Blogger too. Never before, and never again: that's what we always said about the vibe, the closeness we shared.
Can we get that back? I would like to think we could. We ALL have to try, though. We all have to WANT to try. If not everyone wants to, well, that's their prerogative, but can we at least co-exist in peace?
Respecting each other's space, viewpoints, feelings, thoughts, opinions--when did we stop doing that? The question is, can we start doing it again? I am trying so very hard to do so, for myself. If I feel very strongly about something, yeah, I'm gonna say that. But I truly do NOT want to hurt any feelings. If I do, I apologize. If I haven't said so to anyone in that regard, I say it now, I'm sorry. Sometimes I get so frustrated with people and situations, I end up saying exactly what I feel, no holds barred. I don't hate people, I hate what they do sometimes, or how they act. But nobody is exempt from that. We ALL do stupid shit. We're humans. That seems to be our job. ;)
Again, thank you for your opinions. They are recognized and stored for future reference. But I hope we could bring this place back to where it used to be. We used to have fun, almost all the time. We used to take care of each other. We used to help Mayo, and SS as well. We used to LIKE each other. Maybe we can do it again.
I know what you mean Fimble, it isn't a huge problem in the city near me, but it's there. There's one man I've noticed who wonders the same streets and has been for years.
I often worry about him during winter, it gets so cold.
Vivienne said...
Hello J, I'm sure we can get back there.
I agree with you on that, J.
Fimble Star said...
is there any opperations set up, cupcake?
Do they have shelters or homes made for the homeless?
Vivienne said...
Not really Fimble, because it's not an in your face problem here, it's mostly ignored. The truth is there are big housing problems here.
Anonymous said...
So Classsssy!
Fimble Star said...
i think that is the problem in a lot of areas. Where i used to live, the council were knocking their accomodation down left, right and centre leaving families without homes.
Anonymous said...
yuck! no one wants to see her flesh flaps.
Anonymous said...
Hey fimmy, J, cupcake
Vivienne said...
Same here Fimble, I feel bad but I didn't really notice the problem till it started affecting those around me. Luckily there's a big movement of rallies and campaigns down here, so at least there's something I can do.
You mean you sharing your opinion on others on other blogs?
Anonymous said...
Face it. You think that was Frank asking if you could all get along. Now keep pretending that you didn't write all the stuff you wrote and you're willing to try again.
hello everybody.
I don't know if any of you remember me, but I wish to make amends with the ones involved in my small hissy fit from August.
Maybe if things go well, you could accept me here.
Good evening Mayo.
Fimble Star said...
that is really good cupcake and very positive in the time of need.
Over here, i see a lot of cops arresting and taking the homeless people away.
I suppose i will never truly understand until i am in that situation myself.
Fimble Star said...
please excuse me bc, i was rather quite rude before becuase i didnt say hello back.
Hello, how are you?
Vivienne said...
Oh that's awful Fimble!
Hiya Cookiebelle, awesome name.
Anonymous said...
I've been well, quite ill unfortunately, but well.
School has been consuming most of my time, and I've hardly had time to sleep lately.
But all in all, I've cooled down since the August incident, and made myself realize how immature I was being.
Fimble Star said...
Cupcake - i pictured you with an english accent then :)
Anonymous said...
Hello Cupcake, and thank you, it's the nickname my mother gave to me as a child.
:]
Fimble Star said...
i am sorry that it has been rough for you lately, i know how crappy it is being ill.
So, what kinda school are you in?
Vivienne said...
Everyone always thinks I'm English or European Fimble! lol my accent isn't ozzie, it's a little strange.
That's so cute cookiebelle. Sorry to hear you've been ill.
Anonymous said...
High School.
=/
My sophomore year.
Fimble Star said...
isnt that an important year for you?
you would be 15 or 16 years old?
If that is true, then we call it 'year 11' over in england. It is strange trying to convert your school terms into my school terms :)
Anonymous said...
Thank you Cupcake and Fimble.
How has everybody been lately?
Well I hope.
Anonymous said...
That's okay fimble. I'm doing okay, been ill for the last few days, but im ok, just cold.
Cookiebelle, you're sick as well? I hope you get better quickly. I'm okay.
Anonymous said...
Fimble, I'm fifteen, yes. And it's extremely important, if I don't pass MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assesment System) then I'm not allowed to graduate with my class. You're from England? I wish I lived over there, though I suppose it's nice here as well.
BC, I hope you feel better soon :]
Vivienne said...
I've been busy Cookiebelle, that's the best way to describe it!
Goodnight Cuppy!
Anon, wow. I had no idea that Gerard might've cut himself, ever.
You know, I know a lot of people who have, and it's very hard to get past. The stigma is there, especially because a lot of people link it to severe mental illness, which isn't always the case.
But I still find it very hard to believe those are cutting scars.
Hello, again, everyone!
Amy!!!!!
*pounce tackle hug smooch*
How are you tonight? Did you get those carrots shredded? I hope you washed you them good! ;)
I think an offer has been made requesting my live performance video recording skills.
“I'm amazed at the sound quality you got on this video, though. Well done!! Could definitely use you recording some parts of the Turisas show on 20 November = )”
Hmmm...Turisas, eh? Why not! I like them. How is it that I did not know about this show? Well, I do now. Guess where I’ll be on November 20th!!!!
*smiles as she fondly remembers last November 20th and 21st*
*misses Jax*
Sweetcheeks, you wanna come with me? Mya, what are you doing that week? Amy, gotcha passport ready? Anyone else wanna come? Ya’ll can do the consuming (of alcohol) for me. I have returned to water and soda (not mixed together, of course), when going out in public!
Well, okay, I'll have ONE alcoholic beverage if any of you insist!
A little TURISAS for everyone:
Midnite Sunrise
Yep, I am so there!!!!
Oh......and let's not forget my animal sanctuary ~ where you all live too! You will have to do some work, of course. I won't be able to take care of all those precious critters alone!
Hi DW! How are you tonight?
