Manifestation Monster

Wax and wane, spit out the profane
He found it fit to sit and complain.
And in the shit still, remain
Spirit coursing diligent, but in vain.

He is unraveling spools for the core.
He is unknown: “The Word Whore”
Has every opportunity for more,
But now at last he has become the boar.

p.s. not even (a lex icon) the sharpest ink will get you out of that paper bag.

I'm glad ya had dinner together Ergo! That sounds lovely!! And I am very happy ya like that song! Been listening to it non stop. I do like her, but I happened upon that one by chance. And so pleased that I did! I believe it is from a movie -quite recent?- about her life? I Can't read french! So I am having trouble finding the damn tittle!! Ha! I think it is Little Sparrow -but of course, in french!? Anyway, I think one is from the movie too?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u86AfRgW3Qk&feature=related

In the comments somewhere it says that the actress protraying her (as an adult?) did the younger singing. Which -if ya watch that (sorry, again for lack of link!) is pretty damn impressive too! Oh, and hell, while I am at it --this one is glorious too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7kPHMpuLxc&feature=PlayList&p=9090806A4AE3D890&index=154

That one is really sad. But it is so beautiful! Obsessed over that one too. I just wanted to be sure to wish you a good night Ergo! Glad you are feeling a bit better, hope that keeps up!! love to ya!

Morning Mayo!

Just popping in because it's September and you're nearly a whole year old. Aww, you're growing so fast, etc...

Hi Ergo, Lewis,

Was the film "La Vie et Rose" with the Oscar-winning chick who stuck her foot in it by saying 9/11 was a US Government-led plot to refurbish New York on the cheap?!

And I'm off again - have a fab day,

Kass xx

BlogBelieve,

Have a great Monday! It's a holiday here, so yay! Now, could someone please explain why I am wide awake?

Mwah! Mwah!

Wendy,

I hope you are safe. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

sdock10 said...

Mayo,

It's 7am on a holiday and I'm wide awake. That just doesn't seem right at all, but I'm backwards like that. I swear I think I move counter clockwise sometimes.
What does that even mean, Solly? It means I go out of my way to make everything difficult.

My thoughts are one big hot jumbled mess of nothing really. Can you have a hot jumbled mess of nothing or am I too consumed with staring at the mess that I can't be bothered with unraveling my crossed wires? Probably the same wires that make me go counter clockwise and write fabulous run on sentences.

Oh well, oh well, oh well, it's 7am and I ain't got shit else to do, so let's see....

Does the red one go here or the white one?

My brain should be color coded like the back of my computer. This one goes here...this one goes there...this one...what the fuck does this one do?

Have a great day, dude! Here's hoping your hotwired correctly for Monday, because dude, Tuesday it will be a whole different story and you gots to always be prepared for the story. The beginning, the middle, and the ending.

What? I have no idea.

Love to YOU Always,
S

p.s. Damn, there's also a green one, a blue one, and a yellow one.

HI :) Can't stay - didn't catch up. Too busy!

I hope everyone is well and I did see that many had been sick and sent positive thoughts (whether I wrote here or not). Take care of yourselves, everybody *hugs*

I wanted to wish my fellow americans a happy holiday! I hope everyone enjoys time with friends and family.

Wendy - I hope you received my ecard? I was visiting a friend (for an extended stay) on your birthday, so I couldn't visit here. I hope you enjoyed your day! :)

And I keep forgetting to say, BC - you are NEVER too old for school, trust me!

I am going to the Renaissance fair today and I have been busy visiting friends and family and attending events that I had put off all summer - now its do or die. I do think about all of you here while I am out - and in the oddest situations, too :D Its funny that I think of things I would write to you like pen pals or some such while I am on a fair ride or watching circus acrobats perform or attending a concert IN the water. :)

Mayo - See above :) I have no clue what this post is about, but I hope you are okay? And I am glad you've still found time to post. And I forgot to say that the sentiments expressed in the last post are applicable in all sorts of situations, whether intentional or not! And I hope you don't take mean anon words seriously - that's what they're hoping for, I suspect. Thanks for keeping this place available for us!

PS - I think I skimmed for a second and believe I rememberedreading that smoke was laughing at mean anons - and I recall experiencing that exact feeling before. I grinned and laughed when I realized she understands!

Hi Kass, PP, ergo, and lewis! And lewis, I didn't get a pony, but I had great fun!

Have a great day, guys!

You make it sound like they're going to assault him (LOLzies), though I do think everyone's time would be better spent not giving a damn. Like a small child, Gerard just wants a reaction; the best thing to do is laugh or ignore him until he goes away.

If a). It's not a photoshop job, and b). It's supposed to be pink, then Jimmy Urine must be pissing himself laughing at how half-assed his colour turned out - "THIS is pink, Bitch!!"

...although I expect JU's laughed so long and so hard at Gerard Way's Single White Male shtick already that he's probably bored by now!

That is so messed up that Gerard would go to see his wife instead of following his duty. His fans were there to support him or at least meet him and he didn't care. And so what if Lyn-Z's bus broke down... Is Gerard going to fix it magically? I didn't know he was a mechanic. That's a stupid excuse he wanted to be with his wife, he needs to just admit it. Fucking disappointment.

I wonder how Frank feels about being "bullied" onstage in front of thousands of fans?

I'm sorry, but that whole situation still just upsets the hell out of me. I don't mean to keep beating a dead horse, but I can't seem to forget it because it's like Gerard was never held accountable. Maybe he apologized to Frank in private, but the fight was very, very public. I think Frank as well as the fans deserved so much more.

August 27, 2008 6:08 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said...

^^ Yeah your right anon. But the "fans" in sense didn't think nothing of it. To them it was just a simple brawl in between friends, but to me it seemed more than that, it was just not natural and both of them seemed to angry. But it's okay, Gerard could act like he came on top... But look at him now, he's married to woman that is using him in probably aspect, you have MSI using him, he's losing fans, etc...

& Frank? He's doing great so it seems. Why? Because he deserves it and he's always been so kind hearted. Gerard in the other hand... Creating more enemies than friends.

Anonymous said...

It's photoshopped.

Anonymous said...

A week ago a waitress posted about his pink hair.

Due to the rapid fadage of demi-permanent fun colors, his color looks about right after a week.

If his hair was pre-bleacked to a brassy yellow level, the color in the pic looks believable.

Just my opinion.

sdock10 said...

Yay for him if that's what he wanted, boo for him if that's not what he really wanted but he is somehow stuck with it for the time being.

Maybe he was just trying to blend in down south. I actually had a girl work in my office with pink and purple hair.

I'm kind of jealous. I want pink hair goddamnit.

Anonymous said...

Jesus. Gerard did this to get a reaction. He wants people to talk about his hair. Don't you all know that? It's nothing new. Remember GOY? Remember the "patient" hair? He knows the fandom goes apeshit when he does something drastic to his hair and that's why he does this shit.

sdock10 said...

I'm glad I don't have people all over the world judging my hair in all its mucked up glory.

Just sayin...

elena said...

So I guess Hairgate 08 it still going on. I just can't understand why this is such a big deal. If the pic is real, if not, I just don't get it. What difference does it make? He's a grown man if he wants to change his hair color why does it matter? Is he sending some "message" to people with pink hair? By the way that's really more red than pink. I'm not being mean about it I just don't understand why it's a big deal.

Elena,

I'm with you on that. Now, if I find out his hair gotcolored because he was cracked out and abducted by a group of clown people who decided it would be neat to color his hair and he woke up with no recollection of the event, then yeah maybe I would be concerned.

Yeah, there will be an interview where he talks about why he dyed his hair pink.

He wouldn't shut the fuck up about how he "chopped off all my goddamn hair" when he made GOY. [From LOTMS and The Making of GOY] Then he went on and on in interviews about how he wanted to feel like "the patient" so he chopped off his hair and bleached it. Don't know why he didn't shave his fucking head, though.

I'm sure we'll soon know way more about why he dyed his hair than we ever wanted to.

What really gets me in all of this is that people still resort to the "I've been a fan longer than you, so just...nevermind. I've been a fan longer than you, that's all that matters."

Across the board and every artist or band included, does it really matter how long someone has been a fan? That's the most illogical response, and I've never seen it run as rampant as I have in this "fandom."

Being a fan of the music doesn't constitute any of that, and it most certainly doesn't make for a good argument.

The music speaks to everyone in different ways, and the way it speaks to you is no better than the way it speaks to me or anyone else.

That's what blows my mind, because music isn't supposed to garner those types of negative responses. It's supposed to bring you together no matter how long you've been a fan, no matter your age. That's what it's there for.

Anyway, I'm going to go be productive again. You guys have a great day.

Don't forget his "unnatural love" of broadway show tunes and fondness for Liza Minelli.

Oh yeah and the flambouyant hand gestures and the limp wrists and the lisp and I could go on and on...

I know it is a stereotype, but I have alot of gay friends and more than half admittedly fit that generalization.

They all agree on one thing though: that man is flamin'.

Anonymous said...

He went on and on about that too.

Because he was asked about again and again. If he's asked a question in an interview, he answers it.

Anonymous said...

He is, anon; that's what we were talking about last night. The dude can go from tragedy to full on hilarity without batting an eye. And every single role he does, no matter how funny or good or evil our douchebag-ish, or just plain weird, (see "Fur,") he always brings this subtle vulnerability to everything he does. Even when you want to smack his character you sort of feel sorry for him at the same time.

Joaquin Phoenix can do that kind of thing, too. Ewan McGregor...

YESSSS! That was my thought exactly. That and his creepy voice, too. He was creepy and often saying rude and inappropriate things, but so much more carried over in his voice. The character arc was pretty huge and he just owned it.

It was the same way in Iron Man, during the scene where he was paralyzed. He couldn't move his face, but stll managed to express so much with just his eyes.

Since the time when we lived together, years ago, she was so obsessed with him that we had to watch every single goddamn thing he was in, like multiple times. Even after she moved out, she would still email me and IM me about movies that he was in that I had to see.

She's followed his career and his personal life for about fifteen years. She cried everytime he screwed up or went to jail. She was mad when he got married (but happy that he was okay.) She has a t shirt that reads "Mrs. Robert Downey Jr." and her MySpace is decked out with pictures and videos of him.

So I really can't judge RDJ fangirls. ;D

Oh, and she was mad at me for seeing Iron Man so often. She felt I was moving in on her territory. ;D

I haven't heard about an LJ community, but I know that there is an official Kirk Lazarus page and Satan's Alley page.

And please tell me you've seen "Rain Of Madness" because it's TT based and RDJ is all over it.

Anonymous said...

I haven't seen Rain of Madness, but I'm downloading it as we speak. ^-^

I don't know how I managed to miss it. Thanks.

Anonymous said...

I have it, but the effing sound doesn't work on mine. >_<

It is really hard to miss! I don't even remember how I stumbled up on it, but not a lot of people seem to know about it.

Anonymous said...

Okay, confession: That is actually my favorite part of the movie. For that exact reason.

Mine too! That and the part when the kidnappers first bring him out of the cave in Afghanistan and ask him what he thinks of their arsenal. He responds, "I think you have a lot of my weapons." It's such a teeny little line, but the way he says it... there's just so much repressed emotion there. *sighs*

Anonymous said...

^ Yes!

I'm about to get really weird on you here.

Okay, there were other favorite parts too, and they all are my favorites because of his performance, often really subtle things that he does.

Like when he tells Pepper, kind of half joking but really not, that he has no one else but her.

And especially this scene, because don't you think that he's showing so much more of himself than the arc reactor? And you feel so bad when you see it the second time because he's totally exposed and he has no idea what he's about to get into.

(And then again after the benefit party when he finds out what he finds out and he has to stand there next to [spoiler left out] knowing that he's just been betrayed and owned so hard.)

And when Jim Rhodes totally shoots him down when he asks him to be a part of what he's doing, and he's just like, "Well, okay."

Again, a huge character arc, and he had to make you care for this guy who was such a dick in the beginning of the movie that you thought maybe he wasn't even redeemable.

Also, the very last line is my favorite part, too. ^_^

Mustard,

This has nothing to do being a fan of the music.
This is about people who have been fans for a year being shocked by Gerard dying his hair, as if he's never done this before. It's those fans that came in after everything with Eliza, read her 'story' and now claim to know exactly what happened. It's the fans that don't realize how unexpected TBP blowing up was and that it put them in a position that they were completely unused to. It's all the people who are passing judgment on people or situations, knowing only partial or inaccurate details.

true anon 1:28. you are right

TT/RDJ anon, there's something else I want to add about that scene that I linked to up there. Bear with me because I was a liberal arts major, okay? ;)

Don't you think there was so much more to that scene where he undoes his shirt and shows the arc reactor to Stane? The director played a really sly game with the undertones and symbolism and RDJ completely understood the undertones; you can see it in his face.

He's not just saying, "Yeah, this is my technology; it's what saved my life." He's saying, "This is what's keeping me alive. This is how vulnerable I am, I could die without it."

And metaphorically, "This is my heart; I trust you not to rip it out of me."

Then later on in the movie, at the part that is our favorite? When [spoiler omitted] actually does do that and whispers, "It's beautiful."

That is the English major in me talking--and I'm not getting slashy either, just metaphorical--but I know undertones when I see them and those parts just kill me everytime. You know?

Yes, I agree with absolutely everything you said there, Kapunua. Those subtle little parts were what made the film for me. His performance elevated it and made it so much more than what you'd expect from a "comic book movie."

Anonymous said...

Yes, I kinda saw it on a whim. I never read the comics or anything because I was never a fan of American comics. I was bored and intrigued and I knew he'd be good in it, but I didn't expect that I'd walk out of the theater going, "That was the best movie of the year." And even though the movie was a fun ride and really well done, RDJ and his subtlety were what made it the best movie for me.

Anonymous said...

Are we fangirling over Downey Jr? I love him and I loved IM, good points Kapunua, I never thought of it like that! Now I want to see it again but I have to wait for the DVD...... I only saw it once.

Anonymous said...

I don't remember 'its beautiful' what part was that? Did Pepper say it?

Anonymous said...

Oh, well it comes out on DVD on the 30th, I can't wait! (Even though my cousin already sent it to me. O_o What? I paid and will pay again!)

Oh, anon, I can't tell you who says that line to him without spoiling it for the many here who have not seen it. But "It's beautiful" was in reference to the arc reactor, the symbolism of which was not lost on a literature geek like me. ^_^

Yes, the vulnerablilty he showed to Obadiah (when it's obvious that Tony has trouble opening himself up emotionally to others) makes the eventual conflict all the more heartbreaking. Especially when you consider that Obadiah is something of a father figure to him.

Again, it was all in his eyes. Those amazing eyes.

Anonymous said...

Or, alternately, snaps at Mikey to NOT answer it. ;)

They finally worked out that no matter what Mikey thinks about their lack of talent, not answering those questions prevents the lastest shit-talking band from getting free publicity.

Oh my gosh, TT anon, you should have been here the other night when I was pestering Solly and Smoke about making sure to look at his eyes when they were watching Tropic Thunder. I know it's a comedy and it was all for comic affect but that one part where he's wearing the mask and he turns around to shoot, it's like his eyes are on fire. Sometimes you don't even need to look anywhere else.

makes the eventual conflict all the more heartbreaking.

Yes, literally heartbreaking. It was so intense.

Kapunua.... because the arch reactor was his heart. I didn't think of it that way til you pointed it out. O deep. Now I want to watch it again to see the sub text.

Anonymous said...

Anyway, I didn't mean to hi-jack the blog.

I really did enjoy talking about RDJ and Iron Man with you, Kapunua. I hope we can do it again sometime. :)

It's cool, TT anon! I could ramble about movies, performances and my favorite actors all day. I tend to wax effusive over things like this. ^_^ Hope to read you around soon!

Anonymous said...

2:00, I can get way into symbolism, so far that I overlook the obvious parts. ^_^

Hi RW, hi P.

I agree about New Orleans, man, when is that city going to get a break? When is that whole entire section of the world going to catch a break?

worried about anon616; i hope she isn't anywhere near the west bank.

I think she's west of the city, P-Anon. She staed put for Hurricane Katrina, so if she got through that okay she'll probably be fine for this.

Anonymous said...

except the west bank did not flood nor did the upper 9th ward. There are issues the army corpes of engineers were trying to fix right up until they were no longer able to until the winds stoped whem or other areas where needed.

Like i said New Orleans has been bruised; she has been on the mend for 3 years and she will remain on the mend because we lover her.

Thanks, RW! Yeah, I just did it the other day. I use this natural stuff now. It doesn't last long because my roots grow out really quickly, but it's pretty gentle.

I do my hair red or auburn in the summer, and will be going back to the natural color next month. :)

Have a good day, P-Anon :)

It's very pretty, K :) You suit that shade of red.

Gerard Way is the real deal, ladies and gentlemen. Gerard Way knows a little about cancer. He knows a thing or two about the pain and suffering of chemotherapy. He’s stared death in the face, people. The man got a haircut.
