and hammer again
Louder
and louder still
Listen
and listen again
until you have heard everything that I have to say
And so I stay
and what I found
while at your side
was the moon all along
smooth calcified cockles
and a tangled mass of slime
a child’s bucket bobbing out to sea
Some of it stays
some of it goes
p.s. would I?

«Oldest ‹Older 1401 – 1600 of 2647 Newer› Newest»Carrie, that book sounds interesting. Who's it by? Is it teen or adult reading?
TJ, I don't read a lot of fantasy. What I do read of it is superhero novels. In the past, I've read the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Hobbit, the Silmarillion, the Gormenghast trilogy, the Chronicles of Narnia. Nowadays I mostly like mysteries, psych thrillers, humor, and, as I said up there, superhero novels.
One of my fave all-time books is The Phantom Tollbooth--great example of pre-teen fiction.
Amy, really, I don't need that ETK. Please don't be afraid. I'm not dangerous on Tab.
Tab, however, IS dangerous on its own. Once, L had a fridge pack in her trunk b/c we'd gone to the grocery earlier. It was very hot, and we'd left all the soft drinks in the trunk. She was driving down to the mailboxes when all of a sudden she heard this huge BANG!
The Tab had exploded.
The Diet Coke, which was sitting right next to it, remained intact.
New slogan for the Coke company to use:
TAB. THE HAND GRENADE OF SOFT DRINKS.
I'm thinking the whole book that your parents don't want you to look at and you do and get sucked into an alternate world is gonna be the key, or maybe not, because that is a popular plot. Why didn't MY parents have one of those books?
TAB. THE HAND GRENADE OF SOFT DRINKS.
*looks inside the kit*
That explains this face shield, I suppose.
*wrangles a box of Lucky Charms from behind the couch*
J, if you're talking about manga book, it's a mystery, but the other ones are by Mark Haddon, and they are adult fic. I love to read, my mom was a librarian so she is always turning me on to new authors.
Gimme dehydrated marshmallows of goodness!!!!
*has a bowl and a box*
*hands bowl of dried cereal over to Carrie*
Anyway, I'm gonna go and cuddle with me man on the couch, before he eats the rest of my snack on me. :P
Goodnight Lovelies, Mayo and SS!
*checks the security cameras*

Thank Yew!!! I'm totally picking all the marshmallows out, I don't want any of that sugar coated oaty crap. And I still don't trust leprechauns.
One of my fave all-time books is The Phantom Tollbooth--great example of pre-teen fiction.
oh man, yes. that is a must-read, without a doubt!
I'm thinking the whole book that your parents don't want you to look at and you do and get sucked into an alternate world is gonna be the key, or maybe not, because that is a popular plot.
yep. i can think of three or so titles of the top of my head. loved stuff like that -- oh and i also had a fondness for the stories where the young girl (it has to be a young girl) runs away from home and ends up doing the whole wilderness survival thing.
i devoured those as a kid.
hmm.
Night Amy, happy cuddling.
good night amyranth. :)
Carrie, I'll have to look for that book. Well, both of them. My oldest sister is a librarian, too! She's the director of a three-branch system and also loves to read.
Really, all of us in my immediate family love to read. I've always got a book around, and carry it from one room to the next as I move through the apt. My security book. :)
L's just gone to bed, guys, and says GOODNIGHT!
I have to change out my insulin pump, be back in a few.
Goodnight Amy, have a good cuddle! And a good sleep, too.
TJ, did you ever read the Heinlein novels for Teens? Oh my heck, there was one that was the bomb. Something about they were sent to another planet for survival training through a portal for like three days or so, but of course one time the portal fucks up and they are all stuck there? It's probably been a good 30 years since I read it.
Haha, thanks Carrie ^_^
Sometimes I think I should have gone the librarian route too, but my Mom has bitched a lot for the last 25 years. :)
carrie, i think most of the heinlein i read was his short story collections. i read so many sci-fi anthologies in high achool, the stories have all blurred together.
the only novel of his i remember reading was stranger in a strange land.
Yep, with the Groking, we still make jokes about that when someone wants some water. I do remember my parents really liked The Cat Who Could Walk Through Walls, and they have a cat named Pixel as a result.
I was more of a Bradbury freak.
You should try Heinlein's "I will fear no evil"
12:37, i googled the title and i did read that one! i remember how she was wearing a painted body suit.
thanks for restoring a title to me. :)
Thank you anon for the rec. I will definitely look it up.
You are welcome toujours.
Have you tried William Gibson? His writing is slightly racier.
And holy crap on that one, must get my ass to the library soon.
Back, finally.
I tried--really hard--to read Stranger In A Strange Land. I couldn't get past the dated dialogue or Heinlein's writing style. Sorry, Robert, couldn't go there, man.
Unfortunately my only Gibson expereience has been that horrible Keanu Reeves movie. I do think he has intriguing ideas though.
Aw, J, it was good.
i've seen his name in the stacks, anon. is there any one title of his you would particularly recommend?
j., if i had tried to read heinlein when i was in college, i would have thrown him across the room. heinlein + rampant feminist baby witch = baaaaaaaad combination. :)
Gibson, not Keanu, I should say. I loves me some Keanu, but he seems to spend most of his non acty days just walking around mouth breathing.
TJ, I don't even have that excuse, b/c it was only a couple years ago I tried to read it. :P
Older Punk Woman + Heinlein's portrayal of women = equally baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad combination.
Carrie, I'm glad you liked it, and I'm glad for everyone else who's liked it. I, however, am going to just skip on over the ol' Robert. Not my thang, y'know?
Forget the Keanu movie. Try to get your hands on Neuromancer or Virtual light, or even one of his newer ones, Pattern Recognition.
He certainly introduces you to a new way of thinking.
Yep, J, I hear ya. :) I must admit I haven't read anything of his in years, and now I'm thinking, oh noooo.
there were a number of authors i had to give up in my college days. bad for my blood pressue. :)
actually, i gave up reading male authors altogether then (with the exception of what i had to read for class). it was interesting. there really was a difference in tone when i read my first male author again after that hiatus.
Thanks, Gibson pimping anon, I am always looking for a new thought process.
thanks for the titles, 1:01. always glad to have something new to look for in the stacks. :)
Gibson pimping anon
I kinda like that :)
Well, good, at least I have made one person happy today, I have fulfilled my quota. :)
*applauds quietly for Carrie*
And it's weird, but I tend to shy away from female authors. Only a few exceptions to that: Laurell Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Anne Rice. Mostly, I enjoy male authors' work b/c generally they write in what I call a "crisp, clean" manner. Not too much unnecessary detail, quick action, etc.
I have to admit a total weakness for fluffy British (preferably) chick lit. I mostly want something to take me out of my day to day, and it doesn't have to make me think too hard. But then I also have moods where I want a thick historical novel that will hurt my foot if I drop it on said appendage.
J!!!!!
I got your card!!!!!
thank you to you and L it was so cool to get the mail
and also
WENDY!!!!!
I got your card too!!!!!!
thank you *smoooooooooooch* and I wore the earrings to work, they are great!
j., have you ever read any rita mae brown? her style is very clean, deceptively simple in fact. her characterizations are wonderful. i think right now her mystery series is very popular (co-authored with her tabby cat sneaky pie brown *grin*), but i recommend anything she's written, actually.
Hey Ergo! I did just read a fluffy chick novel set in Aussie land, I think it was called Call Waiting. Couldn't help but think of you the whole time I was reading it.
hey there ergo!
Hi Ergo
HIya carrie and TJ
I really like crime, sci fi, supernatural stuff but I often get one really typical mills and boon type for a easy fluffy read.
hi BC
actually of female romancy writers Nora Roberts is a bit above the usual her books are often a bit more complex and she also writes some very good fun sci fi crime books as J D Robb
HI ERGO! I'M GLAD YOU GOT YOUR CARD! *hugs and kisses*
Carrie, my older sister (not the librarian, but the other one, the daycare provider) reads romance novels for that same reason. She says she doesn't have a lot of attention for longer, more complicated books. Usually she's so tired that she doesn't register what she's reading.
TJ, I LOVE Rita Mae and Sneaky Pie! Those Mrs Murphy books are terrific. One of my faves of hers not in the series is Venus Envy. I laughed SO HARD reading that book. I actually got a used-book-store copy for my mom to read.
Needless to say, it wasn't high on her Top Ten list. O_o
I also love Janet Evanovich and the Bubbles books
and kathy reichs and another who's name eludes me right now, forensic crime books, researched Jack the Ripper......
Patricia Cornwell.
Do you mean P.D.James?
I gotta go to bed guys, thanks for chatting with me, and extra thanks to the Gibson Pimp. I know how the movie industry can rape a good author, so I have high hopes of some good reading in my future. You know, the one without cyber thingies. :)
it was Patricia Cornwell I meant but I've read P D James also and they are great
I love James Patterson too, especially the ones on the genetically modified kids
and Dean Koonts should hurry up and do the 3rd frankenstein book, or if he has my library should hurry up and get it!
Goodnight Carrie, good to see you again!
*whispers*
cyber thingys?
Goodnight Carrie :)
goodnight carrie
sweet dreams, glad I caught you for a little bit
I'll be off soon too
j., venus envy is my favorite! i mean, how could i resist a book in which the gods are so engaging? :)
ergo, i keep being recommended janet evanovich (didn't you recommend her to me, too?), but i haven't tried her out, for some reason.
Nope, Ergo, Koontz hasn't written the 3rd installment yet. And I am not pleased. Hopefully he hasn't forgotten to write it, don't leave our modern Frankenstein "monster" hanging!
I love Patterson, too. Have you read "Honeymoon" yet? It's really good. Of course, Cross is one of my fave characters ever. I love the interplay between him and Sampson.
Have you ever read Robert B. Parker? He's wonderful.
Goodnight Carrie
good night carrie. thanks for the new book to look for!
I haven't read him J
but I have read all the J Patterson, he is really great
*pokes Dean Koontz* GET IT DONE!!!!!
and another goodie is Richard Laymon
Don't know Layton, sorry. Parker writes various kinds of novels. His biggest-known series is the Spenser novels, about a private detective in Boston (male). Then he's got the Sunny Randall series, about a private detective in Boston (female). He's written three Westerns, a baseball novel, and two "with" Raymond Chandler. He's another 'crisp' writer. And he's about 75 now. Still crankin' out that product.
Oh, there's another series about Jesse Stone, who's a sheriff in a small Massachusetts town. Close to Boston.
Sensing a theme? :D
TJ you should read them start with the "One for the money" if you can , numeric flows a bit better but the stories are all self contained
i'll add that to the list i've compiled tonight, ergo. :)
Just noticed the time; there goes my dream of going to bed early. (See, BC, what'd I tell you? "Planning." Yeah, right.)
Goodnight BC, Ergo, TJ, Anon, thank you all for the great literary convo tonight. It's nice to have these kinds of talks.
Goodnight Mayo, hope you sleep well. Every time I read your post title, I think of the Charlie Brown Christmas show: "...good tidings of great joy..." If you ask nicely, I'll bet Elena will let you borrow one of her aluminum Christmas trees. Maybe even a pink one. :D
love, faith, hope, books, books, and more books
I'll have to look for him J
good night, j. sweet dreams. :)
goodnight J sweet dreams
please pass on my thanks to L
:)
Lol.
Goodnight J, sweet dreams
Dear SS,
I don't know what book you're reading right now, but I'm STILL plowing through my DeMille saga. Only about 150+ pages to go, though. I Hope to finish the motherfucker before I turn 43. :P
You like to read, don't you? I Love to read. I've been reading since I was 3 (I picked words out of the newspaper and read them to my mom. She was floored.), and I won't stop until my eyes fall out.
*hopes that's some Unknown Time in the Future*
Audio books just aren't the same. Lots of people like them, but they mostly put me to sleep. Sleeping while driving is NOT a good plan. :/
Anyway, wish me luck on finishing this ginormous tome by Sunday. It's gonna take a lot of Tab to keep me awake while I do.
(Psst. Can you keep Amy distracted so she doesn't use the Emergency Tab Kit? She's scaring me.) (Thanks.)
Goodnight, baby. I love you.
My heart to yours, always.
anon with the books
are the styles we've talked about been favourites of yours?
or what do you prefer?
back in a little bit.
ergo, if you have to go before i return, have a good day. :)
gah blogger is being an ass and my student is here, so I must bid you all goodbye
take care, I'll pop back in about 2 hrs, but I daresay everyone will have retired
so sweet dreams TJ BC and anon
(you know work is seriously interfering with my internet social life!!)
Poor Ergo, lol. Enjoy titoring :)
I'm gonna sign off for the night, so goodnight and sweet dreams to TJ and Ergo when they return. Night guys.
Sugarplum: Well hun, I explained my odd Killer dream earlier, in case you missed it. Miss T and Carrie thinks it's a kinky dream, but all it showed was him in boxers, nothing else happened, I swear ^_^
*has innocent look on her face, then pouts*
Have a wonderful time at the show, and be careful! Since labor day is coming up, I might be able to see Killer. The shop gets very busy during the holidays. I'm under pressure to make the first move :p
Goodnight to you *smothers with sloppy kisses*
PH: I hope you had a great birthday grasshopper.
Kass: I miss reading your hilarious banter in the mornings. I hope you're okay.
Miss T: NO YELLOW!!! You silly goose *sticks tongue out*
TJ: more hugs to you my friend. It's weird how you remind me of a cute little mouse that you just want to cradle gently. Goodnight squeak squeak(I miss calling you that) :)
Night everyone!
Hello all you blog believers. I missed you all.Yes, I did. Ergo, have fun. Let nothing interfere in your internet life!
Elena, I am so gald to hear you are feeling better. Love to read about your dreams. They are so intense. I dont have that intensity in my dreams. Shouldn't take a fever to do that but I was intrigued to say the least. As I always am with what you have to say. :)
Wendy, Namaste. I missed you more than you will ever know. Some may hate me for saying that but you know I could give a flying fuck what people think! Always an uplifting and positive vibe you send out. May it come back to you tenfold. Many hugs and well wishes for you.
Ergo, I love Dean koontz! What is he writing now that I may be missing?! Your students must love you, even the troubled ones as I would if I had you as a mentor. I always look to see what you say as it always has meaning.
Mj, I miss you too. I have read you but haven't had the chance to say hello. So Hi!
TJ, I know you don't like to talk to me anymore, only as an anon. I care for you regardless. I appreciate your goodnights to Mayo and all your enthusiasm it brings.
Bc, my sweet. Missed you as well.
Perpetually optimistic.
MissT, you are incorrigible as ever!
OP J. You are a ray of sunshine when needed. I love you and your cat! The one with kidney stones and no pecker! Ha! I almost died when I read that. Love to Emerald L.
Amy, you are a minx! I love ya anyways! You, my dear, need a spanking! Lets not go there! I will be willing at anytime to render my services. keep it in mind. ;)
Hello and hugs to all. Sdock, Smoke, hope you are ok.
Anyone else I may have missed you know you are special. Special people are always remembered do not forget that.
Mayo, you have a bunch here who care. Care about each other, care about you. Why? I dont know. They do. You need to feed them more. Take heed when I say that. I mean it. You see it. Don't leave them to starve.
I won't starve. I have enough words in my head to keep me going a thousand years. Unfortunately I do. Hugs to you all. Please take care of yourselves forever and always. ♥
All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true...I was made for you
I climbed across the mountain tops
Swam all across the ocean blue
I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules
But baby I broke them all for you Oh,
Because even when I was flat broke
You made me feel like a million bucks
You do and I was made for you
You see the smile that's on my mouth
Its hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what I've been through like you do
And I was made for you...
All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am Oh,
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true...I was made for you
Yeah its true, i was made for you
Wish I could have written this. For all of you.
Mayo
Tonight was a sad one. Our cat Seldom died and I just placed his body in a box and tucked it away for burial in the morning. I didn’t want the girls to get up in the morning and see his lifeless body. We all knew this would be Seldom’s final day. We knew he was dying and we made him as comfortable as we could. My youngest sat by him on the deck and gently stroked his fur while she read. I opened a can of tuna for him hoping he could take a few bites. But it was time. He was 19 or 20 years old. We were never sure because he came to our home as an older cat probably 4 or 5. He was part of our family for 15 years. We teased and called him the Highlander Cat because it seemed he was immortal. But time finally caught up to him as it will eventually catch up to all of us.
Oh you may wonder about his name. It was actually Seldom Seen. When he first arrived here he didn’t adjust quickly. For the first few weeks he lived in the downstairs closet. Every once in a while he would dash out, use the litter, grab a quick bit to eat then return to his closet. The girls were very little then and when we told them there was a kitty in the house they didn’t believe us. They wanted to see him. So we came up with the story that his name was Seldom Seen because he truly was seldom seen. Over the years the name got shortened to Seldom.
Seldom was a good cat. He liked to hold your blankets down for you on the bed or sofa. (TJ can attest to this as he slept with her on the sofa) He purred, he snuggled, he was part of our family. I’m going to miss that cat. I cried when I closed the lid of the box knowing it was the last time I’d ever see him.
Night Mayo
Elena
beloved imortal, it's true i'm not very good about responding to every single comment. conversations slip out my grasp all the time.
i'm sorry that you have felt slighted by me. i hope you will come around and talk, regardless.
and now, i need to sleep. good night all.
oh, elena. i'm sorry.
i liked him a lot. i'm glad i got to meet him.
I am sorry Elena. 19 yrs is a long time for a cat to live. He is not "gone" Gone from you now but not forever. He is with you in your hearts forever. He was given a loving home. That will never be forgotten.
Sleep well my friend.
Thank you both.
BI you are right he will always live on in our memories. The girls will always remember the cat they basically grew up with.
mayo,
i come back inside and find sorrows. and there's nothing i can do, except type words that fail to convey how i really feel.
outside, the stars filled me. i needed the night air all day today, and finally stepping out the front door, into the night world, it filled my lungs and my heart and it was as if i was taking my first breath of the day.
it's been the best thing about being stranded here, having the chance to renew my friendship with the night, and the stars. you never truly realize how much you aren't seeing in the city. you adjust.
but here, just out the front door, is the night sky. an entity all her own. i go out and end up just like i was tonight: hands in my back pockets, head tilted all the way back, standing, and turning, and standing, and turning, taking in the whole of it, trying to see every star.
i don't quite understand why i have the response i do to the stars. i've been a stargazer for as long as i can remember, and night time has always held a special magic for me. but it's a complex feeling. i'm not able to grasp every piece of it.
but tonight i thought, maybe one reason i love the night sky is because when you are out standing under it, you always know where you are.
and then, a little later, i heard an owl in the distance, growing more faint as he hunted further from me. hearing his cry from afar in the empty night air, i had the most intense sudden desire to just go with him.
to just fly away, and be moving again.
but until i can, i'll drink deep of the night sky, and hang on to whatever i can.
good night, mayo. may you be nurtured by whatever you hold magical, as well.
oh elena I am so sorry, losing a pet like that is really hard, but he obviously had a great life and I bet he was so glad he got to spend it with you all. Sounds like he was a beloved member of the family.
(he sounds like my cat Kermie, she was the same when we took her in - she is 16 now and I know I'll be so sad when it's her time, but I am so thankful I got to be the human who could share it with her)
BI lovely to see you again, and thank you :]
morning mayo!
morning SS!
morning everybody!
no time at all!
elena just wanted to say that i am so sorry about your cat. even though he was old and it was expected, it is still so very sad to lose a pet. especially when you think back to all that has happened in your family since he has been with you. i think that makes it even sadder in a way.
glad you a feeling a bit better and your GW dream cracked me up yesterday!
hi to those here....TJ, BI, ergo and anyone else.
gotta fly!
heya FASC have a great day!
Good morning/afternoon/night Mayo, SS, Elena, BI, BC/Sweetcheeks, Ergo, J, Amy, Carrie, TJ; the possible soon to arrive Possum, FASC and (hopefully) Kass; anons, watchers and lurkers; !
Elena: I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your fur baby, Seldom Seen. I know you're daughter's will all have broken hearts when you tell them. :(
Have you ever read "The Rainbow Bridge"? If not, I can send a copy to you.
BI: Awwww....thank you so much! *big hug* I really miss you too, love!!! As for any haters, I wouldn't be too concerned about them. I gave up on trying to understand why people choose to fill their hearts with hatred, anger and bitterness when love is so much better! Yes, hate IS a passionate emotion; but, that kind of passion will destroy a person. Sucks all the life right of them and turns their aura's into brownish-black, murky, gunk (as most negative emotions will)! The passion of love is much more satisfying and joyous! :)
I wish you every happiness and much joy, in life, as well!
(Pssst....you inspired my 'to ponder' this morning; so, thank you for that as well.)
BC: Hmmm.....lying on a mattress in boxers, eh? Were handcuffs and whipped cream involved? THAT could be considered kinky! ;)
Ergo: I'm so glad you liked your card and earrings! YAH! You wore them to work! That makes me very happy! *smooooooooooch*
For your pondering consideration today (inspired by my Beloved Imortal):

If you plant honesty, you will reap trust.
If you plant goodness, you will reap friends.
If you plant humility, you will reap greatness.
If you plant perseverance, you will reap victory.
If you plant consideration, you will reap harmony.
If you plant hard work, you will reap success.
If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation.
If you plant openness, you will reap intimacy.
If you plant patience, you will reap improvements.
If you plant faith, you will reap miracles.
But *****
If you plant dishonesty, you will reap distrust.
If you plant selfishness, you will reap loneliness.
If you plant pride, you will reap destruction.
If you plant envy, you will reap trouble.
If you plant laziness, you will reap stagnation.
If you plant bitterness, you will reap isolation.
If you plant greed, you will reap loss.
If you plant gossip, you will reap enemies.
If you plant worries, you will reap wrinkles.
If you plant cruelty, you will reap pain.
So be careful what you plant now, It will determine what you will reap tomorrow. The seeds you
now scatter, Will make life worse or better. Your life or the ones who will come after. Yes, someday,
you will enjoy the fruits, or you will pay for the choices you plant today.

HI PJ, Anima, SC, Andrea, Mel, Angel, TLA and Lewis!
PS for Lewis: COOKIES!!! Well, ONE cookie (white chocolate chunk and macadamia nut); but, it was delicious!
PPS: Kass, where are you???!!! I miss your wise, witty and wicked comments! ;)
Goodnight and sweet dreams to one and all!
Hi FASC Bye FASC
Promise to answer your e-mail tomorrow. I just haven't felt up to being on the computer much.
Today I ran into the wall. Really. My balance is fucked up. Stupid ear infection!
Did you count the stars?
Did you count them for me?
Did you count them for you?
I say count them for the sake of counting and when you are done
Count them again
Every time you count you will arrive at a different figure
Every time you look at them you will see their glory and splendor in a new beguiling light
A light which cannot divert your eyes
Takes your attention away from the mundane ready for their new names
See what is all around you
Waiting to be discovered anew
Each and every night as they call out to you
Speak your name and stake your claim to each and every star
They are yours for the asking
Hear them calling to you?
You lay on the grass gazing at the night sky
Naming each one as they look lovingly back at you
Happy to be in your thoughts and heart
Happy to be free
Release them back to the night sky for another to find
Did you count the stars tonight?
Did you hear them whisper softly to you?
Did you hear them call you by name?
They know who you are.
Like to play the game too
Did you count the stars for me?
Did you count the stars for you?
That was beautiful BI
Thanks Elena. Goodnight blog believe.
goodnight BI
sweet dreams
I'll think of you when I see the stars tonight (it's not quite full dark yet)
Night BI
Sleep well and dream beautiful dreams
Elena? Ergo?? Hello? Yes? No?
hi lewis
i was just putting dinner together
bacon and egg pie - yummmmmmm
how are you?
Hiya Ergo!!
I am doing o.k. -how bout yourself??
In a pie? Like an omlette kinda thingy? Not like a pie with sugar and crust? Although, sugar and crust are pretty good.. hm. I'm curious!
Just got your email, I will try to reply later tonight. I shouldn't even be here, but I wanted to see how everyone is doing.
I'm good thanks well pie over here can be sweet or savoury
what I do (as we have heaps of eggs)
line a pie dish with puff pastry, chop up bacon and sprinkle some over the bottom, crack over as many eggs as you like, (at least 6) and then heaps more chopped bacon on top
cover with a pastry lid and back until golden
I don't know what you guys would call it...a pot pie?
Ah ha ha, yes. You could call that a pot pie! But I think that is generally used to refer to 'pies' like that, that have beef or poultry in it too.
I think your version would get a catchy fun name like -The All Star Breakfast. (we have those too!) But it'd come with some seemingly important side dish (that with such a large main dish) would simply be overkill.
But it's a nice gesture on the resturant's anyway! That does sound good Ergo! I will have to write that down!!
So what are you up to today?
well I was at work and it's 7:30pm at night now so my pie is almost cooked ad we'll be having dinner real soo, then it's Ghost Whisperer night and bedtime
what are you up to?
Oh! It's night time there! Ha. I was like ....I am Really confused now. I don't have cable, but I have actually heard of that show. Ya like it??
I have the wicked 'landlords' coming in a few hours, around 9am. (It's a little after 2am here) I should be in bed, and it is calling! Had a guy come to clean the carpents today. Had little notice (of a walk through), so it was a mad dash. I feel faint. But I am a night owl. So I can't really fall alseep without little to do, ya know?
ah manz. Blogger is being mean tonight! Sorry we got cut off Ergo -I hope you are well. You have a goodnight. You'll hear back from me soon, love ya!

BlogBelieve,
Have a nice Thurzdayyy!
Elena,
I'm sorry to hear about Seldom. I don't even want to think about how hard it's going to be when my Mama's cat passes away. She is about 17, I think.
BI,
*waves* Good to read you!
Ergo,
Have a nice sleep and have fun playing in tomorrow!
Later, BBers!
Mayo,
How you be? I be slightly sickly and it's pissing me off. And WTF is up with all the good medicine being behind the fucking counter? OOoh, some dumbass is going to cook up a batch of meth with my box of Sudafed and I get punished for it, what? What? What? That hardly seems fair. I shall suffer through the day with my itchy watery eyes and burning sinuses until I am able to hop on the Walgreens train. Then, I will have to take the little plastic card to a special counter with a special check out person from homeland security or something and just going through the process will put me on a special list and I will feel guilty which will make me look guilty and end up feeling worse than when I walked into the fucking store.
Gahhhhhhhh!
Seriously, sometimes I think it would be easier just to smoke Meth.
Easy. Easy. I'm kidding. Just a joke people. Just a joke.
Love to YOU Always,
S
p.s. Use only as directed.
*walks into the living room*
*looks around at all the lovely artwork*
*smiles*
Later Mayo. ^_~
SS!!!!!!!!!
Grrrr. That's my growl. Oh wait, you didn't hear that? Lemme try again then.
GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miss you still! ^_^
Elena,
I'm so sorry about your kitty. I know how you feel. They really are a part of the family. Like another child. :(
Later folks!
XOXO
Mayo
this is by an Australian soldier who was shot during the Boer War,they made a film of him and I was watching it, his last words befoer the firing squad, (he refused a blindfold ) were "Shoot straight you bastards"
Love Outlasteth All
Could I borrow the laverock's lifting note,
Or the silvery song from the blackbird's throat,
Then would I warble the whole day long,
Telling, in floods of passionate song,
How worlds might tremble, or skies might fall.
But Love, true Love, outlasteth all.
Or, with picturesque words, in phrases neat,
With ringing rhymes, and in sonnets sweet,
Had I the skill of the schoolman's craft
My song the murmurous breeze should waft,
And tell to her whom my heart loves best,
How Love outlasteth all the rest.
Harry Breaker Morant
wishing you love, beauty, faith and hope much love EP

SS look after yourself and all those who love and share your life
lotsa love EP xx
goodnight blogbelieve see you in my morning
♥xx♥
oh btw he was executed on charges of ordering the murder of Boer soldiers, he said for killing and mutilating his mate a fellow soldier, however the details of the case are difficult to determine fact from fiction. So if anyone is interested in reading up on him, he could very well have been deserving of his fate, or he may have been a scapegoat, but he wrote nice poetry.
And it is a good movie "Breaker Morant"
TJ, BI, FASC, Wendy, Ergo, Lewis, sdock and Smoke....
Thanks guys for your kind thoughts about Seldom. It was strange waking up this morning without him. I miss him "yelling" at me to fill the food dish.
*big hug to elena*
I'm sorry about Seldom.
*big hug*
Thanks anon
Elena, I am so sorry about Seldom. I know how you feel. 19 is a nice, respectable old age, but it always hurts so much when they leave us. I'm sorry.
good morning.
elena, i have to smile a little when i read your comment because it brought back good memories. he really was bossy, wasn't he? do you remember how, by the end of my visit, he would come up and try to tell me it was time to go to bed? :)
i wish he really had been a highlander kitty.
Thanks K
TJ you're right. Seldom was pretty bossy. Guess he figured he was the oldest of all the animals so he got to be in charge.
are your other cats missing him, too, elena?
my little sister has always had a multi-cat household, and the few times she's lost one, she has said it takes a little while for the other cats to accept the loss.
well, i have to be going now.
hope you're feeling healthier, elena.
have a good day, everyone. see you later.
bye, mayo.
This made me completely teary and emo.
Christian the lion.
According to snopes.com, who know everything, this story is entirely true.
OMG, I cried like a little bitch.
god K i have just full on blubbed whilst watching that!!
god how lovely and how sad but happy but....
*dies*
I know, that's really something else, right?
And somehow the song makes it all overbearingly emo and whatnot.
god yes K! i am a little drained!
i think i am a tad pre menstrual but yep that was full on blubbing on my part!
And somehow the song makes it all overbearingly emo and whatnot.
god yeah it does doesn't it!
hellz i've just watched in again!!
Some things are just driven home with a soundtrack. ;) I'm not a huge fan of hers but holy crap, her voice.
The whole thing, doesn't it make you want to cuddle with a lion? Well, sort of.
LOL, I just watched it again, too.
S(S)S, if you're ever about, I think you would like that video a lot. ^_^
in = it
obviously!!
i am too teary to spell properly!!
hey K the sound track i got was aerosmith??! i clicked the 2nd link, the first wouldn't work for me.
anyway SS and mayo and hell everyone needs to watch that video!!
Huuuuuh? I didn't even see a video on the second link? Hmmm. How weird! Lemme try it again. I just looked it up on youtube and saw the Aerosmith song one. Th eone I linked to had Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You."
*sob*
WATCH THIS ONE.
It shows the whole story, from when they get him and then say goodbye to him, to the end.
*sob sob*
oh my fucking god K!!
what are you trying to do to me?!
*recovering slowly*
good lord!
well thanks for sharing the full length one anyway!
*wipes eyes*
*blows nose*
gotta go bath my kids now.
catch you later.
okay FASC! I didn't want to be the only one getting all weepy, I had to share that.
Everyone watch that video! you heard me Mayo and S(S)S! ^_^
Have a good day, FASC. I have to get back to cleaning and whatnot.
'Specially you, S(S)S, with that video. I know how you're into animals and stuff just by your blog. ^_^ This one will touch you.
Whoop whoop! I spilled boiling wax all over my stove. Gotta go!
*pokes head in for a few minutes*
Elena: I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I hope you'll be alright.
Sugarplum: There was NO, I repeat, NO whip cream or handcuffs involved!! Where did you get such a crazy idea? I don't even know what I was doing in the dream to begin with, only that he was in it :p
And I got some good news for anyone who cares: I got a job interview next week!
That's about it for now. Have a great day everyone.
Aw, thanks for the sweet comment B. I hope we'll see you soon?
Before I go, I've been having some really strange dreams lately. Last night I had another one, and now my Ipod is acting weird. It's playing the exact same shuffle playlist as the one I listened to the other day, and that has never happened before 0_o
Anyways, bye to anyone who's here.
*sigh*
I'm bored. :(
Hello Mayo, SS, BC....everyone!
*trying to stop bawling after watching Christian The Lion*
Thank you for posting that, K.
That video reminded me of Jim and Jamie Dutcher's "Living With Wolves" and "Wolves At Our Door". They spent 6 years living and bonding with (and loving) a pack of wild wolves (The Sawtooth Pack).
Living With Wolves part 1
Part 2 of Living With Wolves
I recommend buying the DVDs. You can purchase them at The Discovery Channel dot com. Wonderful story, beautiful scenery AND you'll help save the wolves! They need all the help they can get, right now!
BC: CONGRATULATIONS on the new job, sweetcheeks!!!!!! So, handcuffs and whipped cream were NOT in that dream, eh? Sure! I believe you. *wink nudge wink*
Lewis: You can never use love with dark intentions. LUST, yes; LOVE, no. Hey, but lust is lots of fun (and quite enjoyable) too! Probably why it's one of The Seven Deadly Sins! ;)
Elena: You're welcome. *hugs*
I left "The Rainbow Bridge" at your place. Just in case you didn't have it. I hope you're feeling better today. :(
Okay, I am off to purchase that generator I mentioned yesterday. I spent all morning, on the phone, trying to find a store in Southeast Louzianna that still had some in stock. I finally find a Home Depot that has 4 left. They're holding one for me for two hours, so.....I better scadattle!
Have a good day, everyone!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
6/Wendy
Another quick comment before I go shower:
Thanks sugarplum! *blows kisses* So it looks like I might have two jobs now. It depends if I get hired after the job interview. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because as soon as I get hired, I'm saving up for my room decorating and also start up a car savings fund.
If that damn nonsensical hurricane manages to stop by at NOLA, please be careful! Katrina was a hurrendous disaster, no thanks to FEMA.
And uh, like I mentioned, there was no whip cream and handcuffs involved. I pinky swear. I don't care if you don't believe me *sticks tongue out* although I wish kissing was involved *sighs*
Be careful sugarplum *hugs*
Okay, now I must shower. Later everyone
Wendy
Thanks so much for leaving "Rainbow Bridge"
I'll make sure my daughters read it too!
*meep*
Hiya, peeps... just stopping by to say hi, and make sure my key to Room # 27 still works. I still gots me some boots in dere. ^_~
*spazzes*
Oh my, I cannot wait.
Sister Midnite! EEEEEEKKK!!! ^_^
What is it, Mustard! I can't see it!
Here's what I accomplished this morning. Mainly because I was super-bored and super-silly today.
And K, I used your initial because nothing else seemed to work. :) Hee-hee.
Anyhoo!!!!
For Mayo:
It's True That We Love One Another
Well it's true that we love one another
I love Mayonaise like a little brother
Well Princess I love you too but there's just so much that I don't know about you
Mayo give me some money to pay my bills
All the dough I give you Princess You been using on pain pills
Mayo will you call me if you're able?
I got your phone number written In the back of my bible
Mayo I think you’re pulling my leg and I think maybe I better ask K
K do you think Mayo really loves me?
You know, I don't care because Mayo really bugs me
Why don't you ask him now?
Well I would K but I really just don't know how
Just say ‘Mayo, do you adore me?'
Well I would Princess but love really bores me
Then I guess we should just be friends
I'm just kidding Princess you know that I'll love you 'til the end
Well it's true that we love one another
I love Mayonaise like a little brother
Well Princess I love you too but there's
Just so much that I don't know about you
Princess give me some of your dixie lovin'
If I did that Mayo I'd have one in the oven
Why don't you go off and love yourself
If I did that Princess there won't be anything left for anybody else
Mayo it's too bad about the way you look
You know I gave that horse a carrot so he'd break your foot
Will the two of you cut it out?
And tell 'em what it's really all about
Well it's true that we love one another
I love Mayonaise like a little brother
Well Princess I love you too but there's just so much that I don't know about you
Welp, later folks! ^_^
Aw, Smoke. Your boredom paid off. :)

Hi everyone!
Mayo, whatcha doing?!
Elena, I am so sorry to hear about Seldom. Was he the one that would sit on the back of the office chair?
Happy belated Birthday PH!!! I hope it was amazing!
Wendy, thank you for the hello, that was very sweet of you. :)
Princess, I love the poem! Of course Mayo loves you! DUH!!! Hehe!
K, you are going to visit Solly, Princess, and Fimmy?! That is so sexciting! Is it just because or is there something special going on?
Um, what else? As usual I was just trying to catch up. Sorry I haven't been around. Well, I have lurked, but just couldn't find anything to say. What's wrong with me?! I really miss you guys. I miss hanging out in the evenings. My schedule is so fucked right now. My brain is overloaded...maybe that's why I can't seem to bring myself to comment.
Mayo, I miss you like crazy too. Sorry I keep missing your new posts. Hoping all is good with you my friend.
Sis Midnite, I have an extra key to Room #69 if yours goes missing. ;)
*sings*
'All by myself....'

I'm good just got up so getting ready for work
why did you have boiling wax?
Oh, I was waxing my eyebrows, LOL! And I spilled the wax all over my goddamn stovetop. >_< I forgot it was there and started doofing around with OpenCanvas and the next thing I knew it was bubbling over.
Hey guys! I'z home! YAY!
So you think Mayo will like my song? Bwah! Now, I wonder if Mayo can sing like Jack White? Hmmm....
Anima! So good to see you!
And MUSE? Did somebody say MUSE? YAYNESS! Can't wait!
hi smoke
K wax is a shitty thing to clean up too
Hey Princess!
It is, Ergo, it really is. I am such a retard.
Hot wax scares me. O_o
I love playing with candle wax though. Go figure.
That made absolutely no sense whatsoever but yeah.
Hi! I'm back! Can't stay long, but listen to this shit. ...
So I put in my resignation last Friday. I have three weeks left, well my boss tells me just minutes ago that our 'big' boss (the one that i hate) asked that tomorrow be my last day and he will pay me out for those weeks. He hates me so much, that he is going to pay me to get the fuck out! HAHA!!!!
I was kind of wishing it would happen, but damn this is way awesome!
Maybe now I can go to Chicago with Elena! *crosses fingers that hubby will agree!*
OMG!4th day of school and it seems that my son no longer go to public school anymore.
I just found an MSI concert review off Verita's page. Oh my god. This is Gerard's new best friend.
The opener was their single (entitled “Shut Me Up,” which, while entertaining, is little more than a sped-up retread of territory well-fleshed out by The Faint), and their second song was “Bitches,” their most widely-known track. ...
Notably, no two songs were played consecutively without some manner of interpositioned, scripted banter/antics/abuse; these antics are indeed the Real Show of a Mindless Self Indulgence Concert, and most of why this band is at all noteworthy.
Frontman James Euringer (Stagename: Little Jimmy Urine) is, if nothing else, quick-witted, culturally-savvy, and ruthless with his fans, who fall perversely into step with his famed sadomasochistic stylings. Over the course of the show, he insulted the crowd without remorse or boundary. While most of his remarks were uncreative cheap shots (failing PhysEd, GEDs in lieu of high school degrees, and other token ascriptions of general loserdom), his misogynist streak even inspired a wince from me, in spite of my knowing what cheap game he was playing (and in spite of being a generally ribald fellow). Between songs, pouting supremely, he solicited (and received) a literal kiss on the ass from some gothed-up teenage girl who gleefully bore the downright stomach-turning degradation heaped upon her as she planted her lips uncomfortably close to the asshole of a man some 8 years her senior, I’m guessing.
...
Before “Dicks Are For My Friends,” he plunked a chair in the middle of the stage and sneered “see, you retards just see a chair. I see a business opportunity. Twen-ty bucks. Twenty bucks will get you a front-row ticket to the next song.” Tens of $20 bills went up in the first few rows. I arched my eyebrow: was he going to just take $20 from some kid? Turns out, he did, and called the girl 5 kinds of fat/eating-disorder-ridden while doing it. ...In defense of the band, though, the bassist, Lyn-Z, played the whole song while giving this girl a lapdance.
...
In a striking moment of self-awareness (even for this troupe of wiseasses), right before a guitar solo in some or other unrecognizable torrent of noise, Urine quipped the famously empty tagline “I’m not addicted! I can quit whenever I want!” into his wireless microphone before tossing it to the floor. Predictably, over the length of the solo, he affected stereotypical withdrawl, then snatched it hungrily from the floor and pantomimed shooting up with it.
Famously, he’ll wait until everyone wanting an autograph or doofy cameraphone shot gets one before tidying up after a show, but he’s liable to take your shit and spit on it (witnessed), or throw it someplace (ditto), or completely make out with teen girls (myep), or generally act deranged and unpredictable. I kept asking myself: “when do the gloves come off? When does he thank people for coming out? When does he start acting like a real human being?” I never saw it happen, and as good as the music can be, that spooks me.
...
Sad to say, Urine does little more with his initially refreshing insight into the lame trappings of angry-dork subculture than exploit it, freely and gleefully. Rather than urge metalheads/goths/industrial kids/teen losers in general to shower, cheer up, and develop fuller personalities, Urine instead calls them faggot retard sluts and takes their money.
Wow. What a dick.
Damn, Anima! That's funny! Like, "How much will it take for you to get your shit and get out?!?!?" LOL!
Hi TS!
wow anima getting paid out for teh weeks is better than having to go!
and hi TS what do you mean?
goes, sorry maybe it's me that needs school!
Anima, holy crap! You got paid to leave. That is kind of awesome. ^_^
Jeez, I'd like to smack the shit out of him. >_<
They said he was breaking the dress code with his hair.Same shit as last year!
Um, isn't JU nearly 40 years old?
Who, Princess? JU or Anima's ex boss? ;)
Both, for me.
Jesus Christ, what a bunch of twats.
Do what? WTF? What do they say is wrong with his hair?
Hi everyone, how are you today?
Bl, incorrigible. Moi? Surely not hee hee!

Who the hell reads in the bathroom? I never got why people choose to read in there. I think Miss T and I had a conversation about this in AIM once.
That was sooooooooooo funny.
Getting paid to leave, well done Anima, that's the way to go.
Both! Hahaha!
I'd really like to smack JU though.
Like really hard. And make him cry.
Jackass.
That band makes me 22 different kinds of livid.
And moreover, it makes me more mad to know that they were "supported" by MCR and/or Gerard, however the hell you want to look at it.
Jimmy Urine is seriously the most vile person I've ever read about. And MSI is top-notch dispicable.
And hey. :)
Wow, what a review K! Yikes!
I know isn't that shit fucked up. I get paid to get my shit and leave! This kind of stuff never happens to me! Well, its the least he can do for harassing me for the last 2years, but whatever. Can't wait to get out! Only sad thing is that I have never left a job where I didn't get a 'farewell' party. Guess these two years of working my ass off didn't mean much. Oh well oh well!
Welp my lovely friends, glad I could share that with all of you. I just couldn't contain myself. I need to head out to take care of the pups and then off to the bar.
♥ to all of you. ALWAYS!!!
Hope to talk to you guys soon.
What the hell does his hairstyle have to do with his learning abilities?
Im so upset,i took him out of school and told them i would homeschool him this year.I hope i made the right decision. I'm sick of all this bullshit from last year, and i don't think i can put up with it another year!

Quoted and bolded for meffing truth.
Anima, we can throw a party here for you if you like. :)
Anyway it's great reading you 'round these parts. I miss you! :)
It was hilarious, wasn't it, MissT? I think I still have it saved somewhere.
Bye Anima! Hey Mustard! :)
ARRRRRGH!
Sorry I missed you Anima!!! I hope you're doing okay and give my good thoughts to your dad. :)
That sucks Twisted sister.
LOL K, you still have it? That was a funny night.
Goodnight Anima, take care.
He has the skateboarder hair and he looks different...which i thought that we should teach our kids to be different, but i guess they don't feel that way.
So, who is still here?
Hi smoke,
Hi Mustard,
Hi K,
Hi twisted sister,
Hi to anyone I've missed.
That's awful twisted, they are just snobs.
I know that schools have to have rules ,but i can't believe that they would rather lose a student who wants to learn over some issues with his hair!
Be back in just a bit!
It is just petty twisted. It's sad that some places still think like that.
How long is just a bit smoke?
gosh the school must be strict
one I'm at accepts it as long as it's not a safety risk or you now, rude things shaved into it etc.
home schooling may be the best option, get good support from the administrative body for the program.
must go, see you all late
xx
oh and soooooooo glad we got Circa Survive supporting over here. I can't stand bands that act that way, but lots of kids love them - go figure
oh hi and bye missT :)
Hi and bye Ergo, see you later.
I just don't know if i did the right thing.I've always told him to be who he was.Now do i tell him to cut his hair and to comform( which i know he won't) he is very strong willed! But he is very respectful at school and he is a good kid. My heart is breaking.
know what dude I am. I'm the dude playin' the dude, disguised as another dude!
WHoop whoop!
I don't read the script. The script reads me.
What makes me so sad is i was so happy to get him to the 8th grade,Hell i went to this school,my oldest son went to this school and my youngest is in 8th grade and now this shit happens.Im so upset right now,but like i told the principal,i have to worry about my son and what is best for him. Sorry to carry on this way,I just feel so helpless right now.
TS though learning that life isn't fair and sometimes you have to do what you may not want to, in order to reap some benefit is a fair lesson.
It is awful the school makes it necessary but it is only a few years, perhaps he could see that?
Unfortunately it sounds like it is , what it is- to quote Dr Phil, and perhaps the other things he'd miss out on being home schooled would be worth him conforming in this small way, he can do what he likes later on.
I know teachers that have had to hide a lot under clothing to be appropriate,(they are a little more lenient today, but not a lot) but it's easier than fighting it, and in the end is the fight really worth it?
it's a hard decision so be sure to weigh up all the alternatives and make him part of the decision process, he will feel better about it if he's had some control
-good luck
Same thing happened to me when I played Neil Armstrong in Moonshot. They found me in an alley in Burbank trying to re-enter the earth's atmosphere in an old refrigerator box.
Well,hello there Mayo,SS and Lovelies!
First of all,HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO ERGO,JADE(it`s great to see you),PH and DA!
Hope you guys had a great time!
And Elena,hope you`re okay.
Sooooo...how`ve you been guys?
What's more important, hair or his future?
In the end we all have to conform in some ways to fit in. I think the trick is trying to find a balance between conformity and individuality.
There are also lots of other issues in life where standing your ground is more pertinent.
You have to do what you think is for the best TS.
Hiya bella sweetie, and how are you?
Congrats K, whoop whoop.
