For giving myself time.

We are all in some way the same. Any of us can be traced on parchment and placed over another and the outline will match, at some point. Keep turning the page until it fits just right. Call it coincidence, if you will.

I can hold you up against me and often the lines match up perfect.

The following is an excerpt from an old handwritten journal.

Yesterday I saw my reflection and waited for an answer. I stood there like an idiot, swaying and staring. It took a while, but what I found was strength and self-respect. The bags packed themselves and walked right out the door. My hand held tightly to all that really mattered, my own heart. All of my abandon had left the poor thing in a sad state, atrophied. But if I am patient and use it a little more each day it will regain its once youthful bounce. It will be fit for giving...forgiving. Forgiving.

(I needed the white noise as well.)

p.s. it is yours and no one can take it away.

Oh, just reread my last comment. Sounds sort of, well, wrong. I'm very sorry for that.

I retract that last statement, Your Honor, and propose a discreet silence instead.

I don't know anon

I always imagine the castle to be sort of open to the outside so you hear birds and things, sort of light and airy, I never picture it as really gothic.
I suppose that's my ideal, like a large english country estate manor, big french doors etc.

Anonymous said...

Hmmm...I actually prefer your version of the castle, ergo.

Seems to have the women's touch. And no CCB's ;)

mayo,

sometimes i get the feeling that there is so much more to you than we will ever be able to see. i often think about what you've written here, all the posts where you told us something about yourself, and all the posts where you allowed us to see your thoughts and reactions to events that we can only discern as shadows on the wall, cast by the shape of your words.

sometimes i feel like i understand what you write, perhaps because it reflects some experience i have also had, but other times i know that you have gone beyond what i can understand, and then it's like i'm standing outside at night, looking up at the deep dark sky. i can almost understand the shape of the universe described by the stars above me, almost. it's the grasping at the edges of it that makes my mind go quiet, and so i can only stand there, and gaze, and wonder.

i never get tired of looking at the stars. the magic and mystery draws me back, night after night, as does the beauty there that makes my breath catch.

good night, my friend. may you always have good nights.

Elena, we'll talk to you tomorrow, hope you're doing ok.

And on that prolonged note, I wish you all a goodnight.

Original Punk J said...

Hi Mayo,

Well, like Elena said, the last time you were here you were in a foul mood. It's understandable, we all have those days. But, as they say, don't sweat the small stuff. Or should I say, the small talk?

You know what I mean. Don't worry about what people say about you. YOU know how (and who) you really are. That's all that's important.

And remember your friends and family. They know the real you. Out of all the people that you know, you know who're the ones you can trust unconditionally. Talk to them. Listen to them. And when you need to, ask them for advice--and help.

Take it easy tomorrow, Mayo. It's Friday. Enjoy your day. Do something nice for someone; it makes you feel good as well.

Goodnight, my friend. Rest easy.

ergoproxy said...

SS baby,

I figure if I keep shoving these notes under your door, eventually you'll just trip over the huge pile of paper in your room. Then, while you're recuperating from that sprained ankle you'll undoubtedly sustain, you'll have time to answer them.

See? There's a method to my madness after all. :D

Seriously, though, I really miss you. Many, many times over. I miss the days you'd come in and join in the silliness we almost always had going on. Each time you were here, it just felt...warmer. Like home.

I know you're around, but it would be so nice to come downstairs and see you sitting in your favorite chair, with your book and cup of coffee. You know, that frayed blue overstuffed one near the window? I'd come over and sit on the arm, and ask you what your plans were for the day. You'd tell me you were planning on staying in all day and relaxing, and would I stay and talk with you? I'd say yeah, sure, and sit in the maroon chair across from yours.

And we'd stay there for what seemed like forever, and just...talk. Or tell funny stories. Or read our respective books in companionable silence.

And it would be fine.

But for now, all I can say is,

Goodnight precious. I love you.

My heart to yours, always.

Gimme a reason
Why I'm feeling so blue
Everytime I close my eyes, all I see is you
Gimme a reason
Why I can't feel my heart
Everytime you leave my side, I just fall apart

And when you're fast asleep, I wonder where you go
Can you tell me, I wanna know

Because I miss you
And this is all I wanna say
I guess I miss you, beautiful
These three words have said it all
You know I miss you
I think about you when you're gone
I guess I miss you, nothing's wrong
I don't need to carry on

Gimme a reason
Why I can't concentrate
The world is turning upside down
Spinning round and round
Gimme a reason
Why I now understand
The beauty and simplicity of everything surrounding me

You got a way of spreading magic everywhere
Anywhere I go, I know you're always there
It sounds ridiculous, but when you leave a room
There's a part of me that just wants to follow you too

Because I miss you
And this is all I wanna say
I guess I miss you, beautiful
These three words have said it all
You know I miss you
I think about you when you're gone
I guess I miss you, nothing's wrong
I don't need to carry on

It's such a hard life in most of the time
I'm just surviving
That's why I want you to know
In the world where sincerity has lost its meaning
You fill my world with so much hope

And I miss you
This is all I wanna say
I guess I miss you, beautiful
These three words have said it all
You know I miss you
I think about you when you're gone
I guess I miss you, nothing's wrong
I don't need to carry on

You know I miss you
And this all I wanna say
I guess I miss you, beautiful
These three words have said it all

You know I miss you
And this is all I wanna do
I know it doesn't sound too cool
But maybe I'm in love with you

You know I miss you
And this all I wanna say
I guess I miss you, nothing's wrong
I don't need to carry on

I just miss you
Yeah, it's true
I miss you, baby
And when you're walking out that door
I know I miss you
You make me wanna ask for more
I just miss you
Yeah, it's true
I miss you, baby

Goodmorning everyone!

Ergo!
I looove the Yip Yips with the phone! That one has always tickled my fancy, and yet I never tire of it! Sleep well. =)

Leathermouth/Reggie concert goers,
Thank you for all the great reviews and photos!
What an absolute blast you all had.
Big shows are wonderful, but there's nothing quite like a small sweaty venue to get the feel of a band and really absorb the passion and intensity they have for, and behind, their music. =)

Fimmy, Socky, and Princess,
Your words of meeting up with each other, and the feeling of having known each other forever, reminded me so very much of TJ and Elena's first meeting. This is rather a special place, where bonds have transferred so easily to the real world.
10:08, How are the feet today? Your photo was definitely worth waiting three years for. It is lovely.Thank you for sharing it with us. =)

Bella,
Great to see our Italian sweetheart, safe and well, reporting from NEW YORK!!!! You must be having the most amazing experience, and we'll be looking forward to hearing all about it!

BC,
Thank you for the hug. You can't go wrong with a hug or two can you? They certainly make the world a happier and healthier place.
All the best for your test today.
*hugs back to you, for when you get up*

Emerald/L,
I can't even begin to imagine a life of constant pain. I'm so pleased you're getting some relief.

Oh Amy,
I never knew! You know I have one for you too, sweetie. Geography is no barrier for us. My crush is greater then the reach of the Pacific's distant shores. ;)

I have a crush on Mayo and SS, too...

...or rather a crush on top of them, when I bloody well sit on the two of them for being all silent, or MIA, and making me fuss. >_<

Have a great day everyone!

Sorry about the wallpapering #^_^#

How are you, dude? Where are you, dude? I hope you're doing okay. If you are the elephant in this room, well, I can't see you for my own trunk. Maybe you had a rockin' week like me. Maybe you woke up this morning feeling like you got ran over by the J Train. Maybe? Maybe not. It kinda hurts a little bit.

So, Fay has followed us right back to fucking Georgia. Son of a bitch! We can travel all the way to Orlando and back in pretty fair conditions, but I get up to go to work and I hear we might get 5 to 10 inches of rain. WTF??? Rain, nor work is going to wash this jackass grin that I have on my face today. I am still basking in my concert afterglow. I should be good for at least a few more days.

Well, dude, I gotta go.

Just wanted you to know that I miss you around these parts. Come hang with us when you get a chance.

I'll even bust out the good china for you. I love the clink and clatter when it shatters.

Love to YOU Always,

Wetness does not always pertain to water
in an ocean, river or lake;
Sometimes it refers to how I feel
when I remember your embrace.

I only have to think of you
to remember me in your arms;
My legs quivering, my mouth moaning
I have fallen captive to your charms.

I long to feel your body on mine
to know the taste of satisfied love;
To lie quietly in your arms
we fit together like a hand to a glove.

You are the sweetheart of my life
you are my one sure bet;
You never have to wonder babe . . .
you can always keep me wet.

How is everyone today? Happy, well and hangover free, I hope!

The Chicken
Gary Barnes

Once upon a time, there was a large mountainside, where an eagle's nest rested. The eagle's nest contained four large eagle eggs. One day an earthquake rocked the mountain causing one of the eggs to roll down the mountain, to a chicken farm, located in the valley below. The chickens knew that they must protect and care for the eagle's egg, so an old hen volunteered to nurture and raise the large egg.

One day, the egg hatched and a beautiful eagle was born. Sadly, however, the eagle was raised to be a chicken. Soon, the eagle believed he was nothing more than a chicken. The eagle loved his home and family, but his spirit cried out for more. While playing a game on the farm one day, the eagle looked to the skies above and noticed a group of mighty eagles soaring in the skies. "Oh," the eagle cried, "I wish I could soar like those birds." The chickens roared with laughter, "You cannot soar with those birds. You are a chicken and chickens do not soar."

The eagle continued staring, at his real family up above, dreaming that he could be with them. Each time the eagle would let his dreams be known, he was told it couldn't be done. That is what the eagle learned to believe. The eagle, after time, stopped dreaming and continued to live his life like a chicken. Finally, after a long life as a chicken, the eagle passed away.

The moral of the story: You become what you believe you are; so if you ever dream to become an eagle follow your dreams, not the words of a chicken.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have a great day, everyone! Spread those wings and soar!
Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~
9:41 are you from the lj community?
Sorry it took me so long to answer your question. I am from an lj community, but not the watchers. It's a private comm that watches all things MCR, mostly for the lulz since the fandom has become so ridiculous.
Thanks for responding 10:06. It's pretty crazy here.
Have you ever seen a pic of Amy? She is hot.
Was that the picture of her with Ma and Pa Kettle...uh, I mean her parents? Oh, yeah, that was hot.
Not.
Anonymous said...
>_<
Anonymous said...
I suppose that compared to the other regs on this blog, Amy could be considered hot. Although, that pretty much just means not scary, hair-raising, Bride-of-Frankenstein-ugly so, you know.
Doesn't mean she's going to be winning any beauty contests though. And I seriously doubt that Gerard was attracted to her.
toujours said...
good morning everyone.
i have to say, reading those poems first thing in the morning was a nice way to start the day. *fans self*
but it's just about time for me to leave the computer. today i'll be engaging in obligatory slave labor: we're making applesauce all day, so there's a bushel of apples waiting to be processed.
peel, peel, peel, slice, slice, slice, peel, peel, peel, slice, slice, slice...
*grin*
Anonymous said...
So you know what this reminds me of sometimes? With all the "she's hot" "she's ugly" "this one has a crush" "OMG who shud Mayo be w/!!11" "I know a secret" "so and so was there when..." "this one once said" "that other should" etc. You know what it really, really reminds me of, like, a lot?
Fandom. The way some of these anons opine and theorize and accuse, the way some regulars do the same, well, it reminds me a great deal of fandom. Shoots, we even had crappy fanfiction written about us, with "pairings" a few times.
Thanks guys, I'm pretty sure we've made the big time.
The last thing I ever want to do is talk about looks, especially mine. Even less so do I wish to compare or be compared. Call me ugly or a bitch all you want; believe me, I am beyond that. But I will never be the one to instigate any comparisons with other people and I will always be the last to take shots at how other people look. It's ridiculous. If you want to talk about who is hot, who is hotter, who was attracted to whom, leave me the hell out of it.
At night I watch my X Files (lately) for about two hours and then, unless something fantabulous has occurred that I absolutely must share, I go to bed and read a book for about twenty minutes before falling dead asleep (and lately dreaming about Robert Downey Jr. falling out of the sky while trying to tell everyone something. O_o Yeah, and I have no idea what that means but I seem to feel bad when I wake up.) I wake up naturally around 9:30 and take the dogs out, have breakfast, and get to cleaning the cages and the aviary etc.
I have nothing to do with those dumbass games that were going on last night. I think they are ridiculous and I think speculation, baseless opinions, and "who's hot and who's not" games are beyond foolish. Just leave me out of it.
Now, I have some peach pie to go and bake. Wish me luck.
And for the record, I never thought that the Bride of Frankenstein was ugly. I especially loved Madeleine Kahn playing her. If I didn't dye my hair I would have the two white streaks, true story.
10:45,
That's harsh. I think everyone here is beautiful, inside and out, and I'm not just saying that out of bullshit. I mean it.
Hey to anyone here. Getting ready to head to the city for those fucking tests. I'm not worried about it, but if the college sees that I can't handle some of the subject material, they *won't* allow me to take any classes there, much less start school next month.
So yeah, to me, it's a big deal. Anyways, pickles and sugarplum, thank you for the hugs and the good luck wishes. I'll let you know later how it went because I'm not sure how long it will take *hugs*
Pickles: Of course. You can never have too many hugs ^_^
Smoke: I agree with you. The day/night crew label is fucking ridiculous. I hate being grouped into a crew or label like that. I just come at night because it's quiet and less annoying anons.
Have a awesome day everyone
Hiya Smoke, glad to hear you had a good time. Drink tea and try to rest up this weekend.
As for the labels, they have a way of catching up with you. Soon we'll all be sorted, stamped, folded, and mutilated. We'll each have our own label that will be different than the person placed next to us.
They are a way of separating us from eachother - pointing out our differences and highlighting our flaws. Culling the herd so to speak.
Ok, enough of that.
It's Friday, I have 3 more hours before I'm outta here for vacation. I plan on a whole lotta nothin'.
What the hell is a buckle? Either way, with blueberry, it sounds yummy.
Well, I made my dough and it was very empowering. I somehow never think it's going to work. Flour, butter? How the hell? Yet it does and it's really tasty. It's chilling in the fridge.
Except I didn't use butter, I used ghee. I don't know much about ghee but I heard it was good for you or something? Anyway it's really tasty!
K, it's an old-fashioned term basically meaning coffee cake. It was my grandnmother's recipe and is really, really good. (probably not that good for you, but very tasty)
I always start to feel like baking stuff and getting witchy around August. I don't know why. The two go hand in hand and it is when the nights get a little chilly that I feel like I need to start carving stars and moons into everything, doing my own chants and stuff. And it seems to go with the idea of baking. Hmm.
Well, back to it!
New York four-piece Mindless Self Indulgence opened the Main Stage at Leeds Festival today (August 22) with a confrontational performance.
Dressed in black, the electro-emo group's frontman Jimmy Urine took the opportunity to insult the audience, as well as Coldplay, Oasis and Blur.
Near the start of the band's 40-minute set, Urine joked: "We are Coldplay. Coldplay sing piano rock and fuck Gwyneth Paltrow."
Before performing 'Prescription', the singer goaded the crowd into calling the band "assholes", before he himself joked the audience were "stupid motherfuckers".
Referring to the infamous 1995 spat between Blur and Oasis, Urine said: "We had Tupac [Shakur] and Biggie [Smalls] fucking shooting at each other. What did you have? 'Ooh, Damon Albarn's so cute!'”
The group, which also features bassist Lyn-Z, wife of My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way, mostly performed tracks from their 2008 album 'If', including the aggressive 'Evening Wear', as well as older tracks, including 'Faggot'.
Before 'Bitches', the band asked the crowd to send their "voodoo" to heal Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison's broken ankle, which forced the metal band to pull out of today's line-up on the Main Stage.
Hi Amyranth!
Sorry about your sister Silence. My sister frequently drives me insane too, but for entirely different reasons. :)
Nobody said...
hi amyranth
how are you?
Amyranth said...
Silence, maybe you should tell your sister that insanity is hereditary. She might get the picture.
How's it going Andrea? Taco-time today?
-A
Andrea said...
Yes, Taco Time indeed. :)
I always get Sprite at Taco Time because they don't seem to have it anywhere else anymore. And IMO, Sierra Mist is far inferior.
Nobody said...
that sucks, andrea.
If my sister feels sick, like she has a cold, she'll go on a website and look up her symptoms and then the next minute she is crying that she is terminally ill.
Andrea said...
I like to look up my symptoms sometimes too, but it's important to use a credible source that has references, and even check multiple sources. Otherwise, it's no better than looking up "facts" on Wikipedia.
Amyranth said...
Silence, my dad is similar. And of course, now that he's approaching 50, he's getting worse and worse. He'd been whining to his doctor for months about his health,so she caved and sent him for every test imaginable. When the results came back, she called him to her office, sat him down and said "The results are that you're getting old and you need to get over it!".
He hasn't complained about much since.
Nobody said...
the website's she goes on aren't trustworthy. She told me she had been feeling kind of weak and she had a headache. So she went on the internet and then two minutes later she told me that she has a brain tumor. It's ridiculous.
Amyranth said...
Andrea, I don't know if we get Sierra Mist in Canada, I think we only get Sprite up here.
Sprite never fails to give me hiccups though. Bad ones too, where your stomach feels like it's trying to jump out of your esophagus.
Amyranth said...
Silence, how old IS your sister? She really needs to be careful with that, because sometimes people who read too much about a disease can actually develop it through sheer power of will.
Nobody said...
LOL! I need a doctor to tell her that she is perfectly fine. I have to go but thanks for listening to my problems, lol.
bye
Andrea said...
I've had a horrible headache since yesterday afternoon, and nothing seems to make it better. Yesterday evening I ate protein, I took ibuprofen, I drank soothing tea, I layed down for a few hours... I even took a handful of valerian last night because my head hurt so bad that I couldn't sleep. I took more ibuprofen this morning. It still won't go away! As a last ditch effort, I'm drinking caffeine. I don't know what else to do.
Anyone have suggestions?
Amyranth said...
Headaches are going through this blog like wildfire!
I've found that with extreme headaches, like sinus headaches, a hot bath with lavender oil in it really helps. You can use eucalyptus too if you suspect sinus problems, because it clears them up really quick.
Once you get out of the tub, sprinkle more lavender oil on your pillow, and it should help to ease the pain.
Amyranth said...
Oh, dim the lights too. I find when my brain has less to process, the headache tends to go away faster.
Andrea said...
I'm pretty sure my headache is related to the tension in my neck/shoulders/back. I've had some weird things going on back there this week. It might be my own fault... I've been lazy about my gluten free diet during the last several days. But I've also been under a lot of stress.
Covering my eyes always helps somewhat - I'm always sensitive to light when my head hurts.
Andrea said...
A bath sounds really nice. I wish I could go home early and take one. I'm supposed to go out with friends tonight after work, but if this keeps up I'll just have to go home.
Amyranth said...
You know, if you have tension and stress in your back and neck, you should check and see if your health benefits program will pay for a massage. I never realized how bad the muscles in my back/neck were until I went for a professional massage.
That should help to alleviate your headaches as well.
Andrea said...
Massages always hurt me because my back is so messed up. :(
I see a chiropractor regularly, and occasionally they will do massage or percussor (like a heavy duty vibrator). I like the percussor better because it doesn't hurt like massage does. But either way, it's only temporary relief until we can chip away at underlying problems.
I need to be more disciplined about sticking to gluten free foods and exercising regularly. Those two things have helped me a lot, but I've been slacking in the last week because I've been overwhelmed with everything else. And I know darn well that when I'm stressed already, it's the worst time to stray from the things that help my body feel better. But I do it anyway. :(
Mayo, SS, Everyone,
Only in for a moment but I wanted to share this with you.
Around this time of year, I always think of my Grandparents. My Grandmother on my Dad's side passed away in September, and my my relatives on my Mum's side have a reunion in August, around my late Grandfather's birthday. I miss them all the time, and wish I could have had more time to talk with them now that I have more questions. There is so much about my heritage that I would have liked to have known.
I am grateful for the time I did get to spend with them, they were wonderful people.
My Dad's Mum was such a spitfire. She never did anything halfway. She was half Cherokee, half Welsh, but she always downplayed the Cherokee side because she was mocked, called names, and looked down upon. But she still made dresses and outfits for the Grandkids out of leather and beads. One of my most loved pieces from my childhood is the small blue leather dress she made me, with beautiful bead work. I was about 2 when she gave it to me.
She was such an amazing woman.
My Grandmother on my Mum's side was no less amazing, a heart as huge as the sun, and warmth to match. She was so loving, so patient, so kind. I see so much of her in my Mum, and hope that I have even a tenth of that heart.
I never knew my Grandfather on my Dad's side, he passed when I was six months old. But I have the red quilt that he told my Grandmother to give to me after he was gone, because I always reached for it when he held me. I can feel his presence every time I clutch that quilt to me.
My other Grandfather, he was so quiet, so reserved. But when I would visit, he would always come up to me and hand me a dime, and smile. He gave all of us Grandkids dimes, and I still have some of them today.
If you have your Grandparents, please treasure them. Ask them questions about their life.
You may find they have some amazing stories to tell.
The sketch below is a dedication to my Grandmum that I did many years ago.
Cherokee Child
Hope everyone has a good day, and I hope to be back in later.
Love,
L.
Hey everyone.
Thanks for the good luck guys. Quick update: I didn't have to take the basic math, reading, writing tests, just the ones where they test my knowledge on microsoft word, excel, etc, and it was done on laptops.
I passed both of them, but failed at basic PC knowledge such as knowing about RAM, hard drives, etc. Oops. So I have to take a PC class eventually.
And honestly, I was really nervous as soon as I was in a room with the other new students. It's like going back to the first day of high school. But there was a cute guy I saw just before I entered the building, so it wasn't all bad ^_^
The tests only took a couple of hours, fortunately.
Hi andrea and amy *waves*
Hi BC!
I think I missed the discussion leading up to this. Why did you have to take a test on PC hardware? Was this for the school you'll be going to?
Anyway, if you need any help with that stuff - maybe a quiz partner? - feel free to hit me up. I've been working with computers for over 7 years, and I'm A+ certified (for Windows 2000), so I know most of the basics about hardware. Taking apart hard drives is one of my favorite nerdy past times. :)
Anonymous said...
Andrea, yep it was. Thanks for the offer. I appreciate that. I'm assuming the PC class is an elective, but they didn't tell me if I have to take it my first year or not, so I think I'm off the hook for now :)
ok, I asked you before and I will ask you again because surprisingly enough, you didn't answer my previous question.
Why do you use the word Gay to insult someone or even try to insult someone?
Lookit, gay can mean two things, happy or your sexuality, I think you may already know that deary. So if you call us the gay crew, then yes we are because we are all happy because we talk to our friends.
Many people are proud to call themselves gay and they still parade to show everyone that they should not be treated differently, yet the world gets narrow minded little so and so's like you, still using it as a term of disrespect and you use it to insult someone. Maybe you should look in the mirror, take your lips away from your super lovely and stop kissing ass and think before you speak.
Again, Why do you use the word Gay to insult someone or even try to insult someone?
The Shower
by Charles Bukowski
We like to shower afterwards
(I like the water hotter than she)
and her face is always soft and peaceful
and she'll watch me first
spread the soap over my balls
lift the balls
squeeze them,
then wash the cock:
"hey, this thing is still hard!"
then get all the hair down there,-
the belly, the back, the neck, the legs,
I grin grin grin,
and then I wash her. . .
first the cunt, I
stand behind her, my cock in the cheeks of her ass
I gently soap up the cunt hairs,
wash there with a soothing motion,
I linger perhaps longer than necessary,
then I get the backs of the legs, the ass,
the back, the neck, I turn her, kiss her,
soap up the breasts, get them and the belly, the neck,
the fronts of the legs, the ankles, the feet,
and then the cunt, once more, for luck. . .
another kiss, and she gets out first,
toweling, sometimes singing while I stay in
turn the water on hotter
feeling the good times of love's miracle
I then get out. . .
it is usually mid-afternoon and quiet,
and getting dressed we talk about what else
there might be to do,
but being together solves most of it
for as long as those things stay solved
in the history of women and
man, it's different for each-
for me, it's splendid enough to remember
past the memories of pain and defeat and unhappiness:
when you take it away
do it slowly and easily
make it as if I were dying in my sleep instead of in
my life, amen.
I was at the Orlando Reggie/Leathermouth show and I have to say I haven't seen Frank look that happy in a couple of years now.
Didn't he look happy? It was nice to see. We heard him giggle and that was awesome. Yay Frank!
Love Hate Love.
This one is brilliant.
Dunno, Anonymous. I didn't even know the Kerrang! awards were being held this soon.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know if they got an award for whatever they were nominated for?
Niiiiiiiice, Smoke.
Someone should really link some Reggie youtube stuff from Orlando. OMG, the guy just makes me smile sunbeams!
Jules, I always loved "Rooster".
"Take my hands before I kill." That was my favorite line. But you can really hear the skill he had in this song.
There aren't a lot of singers out there these days that can carry songs like that, with that range and power.
Jared can do it though. ♥ Oh man, I would love to hear 30 cover some AIC. How hard would that rock? Jared would own that.
MSI was up for Best Album but they came in next to last. A7X was the winner.
Also, MCR got beaten out for Best International Band by 30STM, which made me practically ecstatic even though I'm not a 30STM fan.
Jared always reminds me of someone when he sings and I can never think of who it is. Maybe it is Layne.
Oh, Kapunua, speaking of covers -- Audioslave covered Seven Nation Army at Lollapalooza back in 03 (I think). I'm not an Audioslave fan per se, but I do love Chris Cornell and OMG, that was an awesome cover.
Thanks for the info, Anonymous. I had no idea MSI was even nominated, much less for Best Album.
I like that one Kapunua. I never really listened to them before. Thank you for the introduction.
Mustard I believe they were already held. I am not sure what categories they were nominated for.
Thank you anon. That was interesting
MSI? Best Album?
Say wha?
O_o
Chris Cornell is a powerhouse, 7:02. He's still got it. ^_^
You're welcome 7:02 The Sequel.
AIC had two EPs of mellow songs that were very beautiful. Hang on, I'll ding some up for you.
Yeah, it's amazing how far they were able to go on just the strength of their association with MCR, huh? Too bad for them their music sucks so hard though. :)
Here's one from Sap, Brother. Although lately the lyrics make me think of Frank and Gerard.
That is Ann Wilson's beautiful, amazing voice you here there, too. ^_^
Frozen in the place I hide
Not afraid to paint my sky with
Some who say I've lost my mind
Brother try and hope to find
You were always so far away
I know that pain so don't you run away
Like you used to do
Roses in a vase of white
Bloodied by the thorns beside the leaves
That fall because my hand is pulling them hard as I can
You were always so far away
I know that pain and I won't run away
Like I used to do
Pictures in a box at home
Yellowing and green with mold
So I can barely see your face
Wonder how that color taste
You were always so far away
I know the way so don't you run away
Like you used to do
Like you used to do
Although, that is Cantrell singing and not Layne. He was a mediocre singer at best but the song is great, and Ann Wilson brings the house down.
Bit of a stretch, calling it music, innit? I'd sooner hear my cat coughing up hairballs.
