Up To The Ground.

Those hills breathe fire
And exhale into the stream
Billows of crackled frames
Mixed with the amassed sordid matter
Of a thousand million leaves
Pelf, from pandered promise
Settles into the hollows
Filling the rift with futile night
They will brush ash from their soles
For an eternity after having been told
Better to swallow holes than believe
What was struck, no longer stands

p.s. and so it went.

Hallo BC!

And Mustard? To answer your question, according to Wikipedia, bees do not have knees.

They have:

A fore leg, a middle leg and a hind leg.

They are made up of:
a femur, a tibia, a tarsus and a tarsal claw, but no knees.

Sorry.

Sorry, that was crude. But we do say it.

Metallica's new album is supposed to be crazy old school heavy. All of the songs are over 6 minutes. I'm very curious to hear it.

Megadeath, I can take or leave, except for the bass line in Peace Sells.

Mayo,

Love is complicated,
Love is a mystery,
(Do come and find me).
Love is a delusion, an illusion
An allusion to ...
Love is an illusionist,
And it lives and dies
Only by my own hand,
Driving you, and me, and them
To the point of no return.

And sometimes it just isn't enough, you know?

You can love something with all of your heart and mind, and there will always be that one extra step, that one extra thing, keeping you from what you want, what it is you love.

And maybe that's part of the point of life, to find out how to make it enough.

Or it could be that it isn't supposed to be figured out immediately, and given the right amount of time, everything will find its own place.

A long-ass waiting game of sorts -- meanwhile, the world is doing nothing more than passing us all by.

But, when it's all you want, who you want, what you want to be, who you want to be...when it's what or who you love, that's what you do. You wait.

Love is patient.

You can't give up.

I hope you're doing well, Mayo, and that you're figuring stuff out. Have a nice evening.

P.S. Most importantly, thank you to the regulars and anons alike for providing the inspiration.

Mayo,

Dude, I'm so blah tonight. Really for serious, I am. I hope you are better than blah. I'm serious, I really do. See how ridiculous I can be???

Okay, so the theme running loose in here is love and what it is and what it isn't. And I say, I dunno.

Here's the thing. Love is a child's smile. Love is a mother's helping hand. Love is your sister laughing at you, but you know she'd kill for you if you asked her to. Love is your dog jumping up and down, happy to see you when nobody else is.

Are you with me so far? Okay...then there's looooove. Oh and you think you know exactly what it is and how to get it and how to keep it and you'd die for it and you'd lose yourself in it over and over and it's sunsets, and roses, and song lyrics, and late nights, and early mornings, and hot dates, and chocolate hearts, and favorite foods, and no make-up, and giving up the remote, and it's starting from nothing, learning all there is to know about each other and building a life together.

And then....something happens. You don't even know what it was or when it did, but it happened. And everything you thought you knew, you now question. What is love? I don't fucking know. How did it turn into this? A breaking heart, an empty house, separate lives, crying nights, not eating, not sleeping, and everything you had, disappeared seemingly overnight. (You really know better.) But you'll say anything to convince yourself. Find the reason. The logic.

But love is illogical. It can't be defined and it can't be explained.

It just is.

And will always be.

Get me?

Yeah, I think you do. Hell, I even think I get me tonight.

Love to YOU Always,
S

p.s. What a fucking surprise!

Goodnight RW, sweet dreams *hugs*

Original Punk J said...

Hey hoo! Anyone left?

Anonymous said...

Love! LOL! Love is a media based corporate holiday. It's an advertisement. "Buy these clothes and you will have hot sex in Aruba!" It's a billboard. A magazine flyer for diamonds. "Buy this bracelet to prove your love!" It's a sharpie message, a commercial, a "ROMANTIC COMEDY HIT OF THE SUMMER" that you all need to spend ten bucks to believe and pretend will be your life.

Good night all! ^_^

Anonymous said...

But really what "love" is is the primal need to pass on our DNA no matter what. It all traces back to the survival of self (easier with a mate,) the survival of your DNA (in all of nature,) of your clan, and of the species.

"Romantic love" after courtly love, poetry and stuff, just glorified those urges and then Hollywood and the media came along and sold them.

REALLY good night this time. :)

Original Punk J said...

So...how do you explain tokens of romantic love that existed before the media did?

Anonymous said...

Scientific explanations can't heal a broken heart or take away the pain.

Someone is just bitter and lonely I see.

Anonymous said...

I just got finished writing nonsense at DM's and wanted to say that there are different types of love, and it manifests itself in different ways.

My opinion only:

You can love someone.

You can love some place.

You can love an idea, something intangible.

Or you can love something.

I wrote about loving something.

Night. :)

what's up with MCR ripping their fans off.

in the MCR store you can buy a TBPID mas for $29.99 each or in bundles of 4 for $99.99.

the last time i checked there were 5 members of MCR. if you didn't purchase the limited edition with a mask and you want all five masks, you have to buy the bundle and one for $29.99. i think their overcharging the fans because TBPID sold so poorly, which is a fucked up thing to do to the fans.

Absolutely. Everyone's inner growth goes at different speeds; that's why some 30 year olds are more mature than others. :D

I also like to think that most people have a goodness at their core. Some people do prove that wrong, but I mean like serial killers and rapists and such. Some people are just born evil, IMO, and there's no helping them. But like I said, those people are SO evil that it's very obvious.

i don't think i actually believe in evil.

No, TJ, I get you. It may be our difference in religious beliefs that's creating the difference in ideas of good/evil. Your religious beliefs are more--hmm, organic? Again, neither is wrong, just different. :D

little bit to add to the discussion, I think we always judge people based on our experiences and our own feelings on their actions (as in putting ourselves in their place)
there are people that I cannot understand why they would act the way they do as it would be so foreign to my own personality.
However I can , in theory, see why it may be like that.
And I agree with TJ just because I may not agree with someones actions it wouldn't necessarily see them as not inherently good, but then "good" and "bad" are subjective also, good can be altruistic or self serving, "bad" can be due to circumstance or nature

toujours said...

*heehee*

ergo, i like when in movie interviews the actor playing the bad guy will say s/he tried to get into their character's head and understand their actions from within, understand the character's internal justifications for what they do.

no one thinks of themselves as "evil" or "bad" unless they are negatively judging themselves, otherwise they always have a reason for why what they are doing is right. even serial killers are like that.

Women are often under the impression that men are much more madly in love with them than they really are.

July 22, 2008 11:13 PM

It's been proven that women and men view love on two completely different planes. FOR THE MOST PART--and not in all cases--women are more romantically inclined than men, and see the relationship as an ideal or "their dream" that they've developed since they were young. Men, on the other hand, seem to find a woman they're reasonably happy with, who can take care of them, and won't cheat on them, and they're good. Love doesn't really enter into it--FOR SOME MEN.

There are exceptions to both of these rules. I've never had a concept of an "ideal" partner per se, but there are attributes I'd like him to have. And, I also know a man who is extremely romantic, more than most men, and he's VERY concerned with being with the RIGHT woman, caring for HER, etc.

So there ya go.

Anonymous said...

"good" and "bad" are subjective also, good can be altruistic or self serving,

The "party" that she did for TJ last night that was to get more attention on her. When she does something "good" without for Mayo's attention then we'll talk.

ergoproxy said...

and to me love is very complicated, there is the theory of eros, agape and philia
(sexual love, altruistic love and brotherly love)you can also add in storge which is affectionate love

perfect love would be a combination of all four, but I don't think human love is ever perfect.
The differing percentages of each possibly would result in a persons feeling of whether the love they are receiving is worthwhile.
I believe love is more than a biological urge, as it can often work against what would be considered the "best" for a person in a survival of the species sense, and it goes beyond the love for a specific mate.

Original Punk J said...

Yeah, Ergo, I don't think that a lot of people look at a member of the opposite sex and think, "You know, that person would be an excellent mating partner." At least I hope not!

Anonymous said...

There is no logic to love. It can never be fully understood.

ergoproxy said...

I always think that is interesting TJ
in a persons mind things are usually justifiable to themselves.
And I also think a persons "bad" points don't necessarily negate their "good" points

for example I argued once that Hitler's genocidal actions shouldn't negate recognising him as a brilliant statesman, but I am in a minority of people I know who can look at things like that

This is why we wonder, "What drew these two people together? What do they see in each other?"

It also corresponds to the idea of soulmates, two who are "destined" to be together in many, if not all, of their several lifetimes on Earth. It's a very interesting concept, I've been into it for a while now.

J Pulla bread is a sweet cardamom flavoured bread from Finland, my husbands mum used to make it , so I googled a recipe and I'll try it out, it's traditionally a plaited loaf.
I've never made it but it doesn't look too hard

Original Punk J said...

Elena, Fred, have you two done any actual ghosthunting yourselves yet? Besides the episode in the cornfield, that is. ;)

ergoproxy said...

and the chicken ghosts

Amyranth said...

Agh.

AAAGH.

AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH.....

Original Punk J said...

Ergo, that sounds similar to Lemon Twist bread that my sister used to make. Lemon-flavored (obviously!), long loaf, braided several times. Sort of sweet but not like a dessert bread. Good luck with your recipe!

wow, j. i bow before you!

the weird thing is, that i'm finding i don't really mind it. i mean, yeah, i'm in an air-conditioned building most the day, but when i go outside at night, the warm air feels almost...

comforting.

that's a very freaky feeling for someone from the pacific northwest!

i used to hate summer because of the heat, felt like i was suffocating!

i weird myself out. o_0

Amy?

and,

Chicken ghosts?

elena said...

We have indeed done some ghost hunting but we're not revealing anything until we ink the deal.

OH and we need some really good theme music.

What's wrong Amy?

Original Punk J said...

Hmm, theme music. Well, there's always "Astrozombies"! heeheehee

Lemme study on it a while.

Amy, what the fuck? Do you need some e-help?

Amyranth said...

No, I just can't think of anything to say.

In fact, I can't think at all.

I just spent the last hour watching Wipeout.

ergoproxy said...

amy?

Original Punk J said...

OOOOOOOOOkay...well, Amy, maybe you could help Elena and Fred think of theme music for their as-yet-unsigned TV show about ghosthunting.

Speaking of which, you two never told me about the CHICKEN GHOSTS. Spill!

ergoproxy said...

what is wipeout? or shouldn't i make you relive it?

Amyranth said...

Wipeout is a show based on MXC, which is a dubbed version of an 80's Japanese Game Show called Takeshi's Castle.

MXC, is good. It's funny, and just the right kind of stupid.

Wipeout isn't. I find it quite smarmy, and the two "hosts" haven't got a funny bone between them.

I dunno. Just felt like complaining about it, I guess.

Can't talk about the chicken ghosts. Their agent is playing hardball.

ergoproxy said...

ah I know the show you mean amy

Amyranth said...

Yeah. I'm not really pleased with it.

Oh well.

Desperate;
To hold your hand in mine.

Intimidated;
By your dark eyes.

Confused and irritated,
By the same routine.

Can you hear me?
Are you near me?

Hope;
Is all I have now.

For I slowly fail.

Oh shoot, Elena. You've got my curiosity all piqued and everything now! Hope I can wait for the show to come on so I can hear about them.

I see we've lost our Anon contingent. Guess we're boring. :D

elena said...

Okay so now we're watching my new LA Ink DVD. Yeah, for Frank.

Amyranth said...

J,

I don't mind being boring.

Original Punk J said...

I see I spoke too soon...

Anon, your poem is so touching. Did you write it? And may I ask, is it for someone here?

toujours said...

i didn't mean it to have snark at all. :/

Anonymous said...

Wipeout must be a terrible show then, huh?

Anonymous said...

Thank you.

Yes, I wrote it.

ergoproxy said...

have you decided firmly on a name for your ghost hunting outfit?

Amyranth said...

Don't forget Anon, some men have admitted to being aroused by the smell of a new car.

Guys are aroused by a lot of trivial things.

ergoproxy said...

oh yay for me!!!!!!!!!

*happy dance*

I didn't even notice

ergoproxy said...

Hi belle, it's lovely but I don't make a connection

Anonymous said...

It's obviously for Gerard since you used some of his lyrics.

elena said...

No Ergo we haven't decided on a name yet.

toujours said...

did you post the song, as well, belle?

Original Punk J said...

Hello Belle, yeah, I'm guessing it's for GW. Or is it for Mayo?

Have we met you before, under a different name perhaps? Just curious.

Anonymous said...

No, I did not post the song.

Amy,you watched Wipeout tonight? We did too. Wasn't thrilled. It was as if the combined the shows survival, big brother and the Mxc game together. I like the Japaneese one it is so funny.
