Good Morning, Evening, Night, whatever time zone you guys are in!
I am just popping in for a moment before we hit the road to St. Louis, but wanted to give you guys an update.
Thursday night, we went to Beale Street and had a fantastic time just walking around, checking out the shops and spent a pretty long time in B.B. King's club. Not only did we hear some of the best blues and Motown music from the house band, but we had the most amazing food! You have not lived until you've had real Memphis BBQ and Spicy Shrimp! We bought lilies from a street vendor and checked out the water front.
THEN last night we went to the actual Music Festival, and well, let's say that the monsoon (don't think that's spelled right) season hit full force. We had lightning, thunder, rain so hard at times you could not see two feet in front of your face, and the mud was over ankle deep! But you know, it was pretty cool. After awhile, we were just laughing hystericaly.
MCR went on a bit later because of the rain, but I think they hit the stage around 11:15 or so. They were AMAZING! Gerard sounded great, all the guys were so energetic and the everyone was really into it, jumping up and down in the rain and singing along at the top of our lungs. I don't think I had seen Mikey move that much in my life! Gerard introduced him as "MIKEY FUCKING WAY!" and at one point, Frank broke a string, and while he was changing out guitars, Gerard was smiling and told us, "Frank broke a string. I don't think he's broke a string in almost a year!" and they were both laughing.
It was just a fantastic experience, even if we do have the hair dryer out this morning trying to dry our shoes.
One thing that I did want to mention is that there was a group of fans over by the fence where the buses were,(we walked over after the show) and they were really harrassing the poor young event worker about letting them in the gate. They were yelling at the buses for MCR to come out, saying "We stood all day in the rain! You OWE us!"
No, they don't. They put on a great show, in the rain, and they had to leave to head to St. Louis. Two of the "fans" got by the guy and made a run for the bus, and he had to chase them down, and security brought them out. Finally, the police told them they had 10 seconds to clear out before they arrested them and they left.
We talked to the event guy and told him we were sorry about what happened to him, and that some people don't understand the event workers can't just magically make people appear, and he was having a hard enough time without chasing someone through 5 inches of mud.
Unreal.
Ok, got to go, we are hitting the road, and I got to check if my shoes are at least dry enough to put on!

i'm actually disappointed that gerard doesn't sing the never marry line anymore. that line is the part of the song that is the most evocative of a cancer patient's experience, imo. you suddenly draw a line thru your life - what you did and what you never will. the first time i heard that, i knew he got it.
but that's been hijacked now. it's still a powerful song, i just wish it had stayed pure.

You can only use the letters as many times as they already occur in the name (or title, or original word or whatever.) It's a little easier than anagramming, more fun because it's really freeing with the letters. And also a little harder because you have to keep track of all the letters. Oh, and you capitalize all lexigrams. I don't know why.
Originally lexigrams were used to find out hidden "truths" in names and words. If the letters "N" and "O" appear in the original name, it negates any bad thing that the name reveals.
Traditionally you can never lexigram a word with more than, I think it was 13 single-occurring letters. And you can never lexigram any name that has all five vowels.
But that's limiting, so forget that. ;)
The way it's easiest for me is to write the letters backwards or out of order so that all I see it letters to make up new words, instead of being blinded by the original word.
