Pendulum.

I am filthy and filled with an untenable relapse in reason. I reek of the ruinous stench of revolt. I am vile. There is a guard posted at my bedside who never allows me to rest. He keeps a silent watch with his fist in my gut. My screams he silences with his lips pressed full against my mouth. He eats my words before they have a chance to live. And, he knows that once I am free I will disappear.

I throw my shadow against the wall. I hope that the guard will find the illusion a distraction and he does. Now, with the guard so easily bemused, I quickly slip out from under the sheets. Feet hit the floor first, then knees and hands, then once I am steady I crawl my way out the door. I only have a little time before the guard notices my shadow’s foolery. He could beat me to a pulp. Fucking prick.

And of course, I always return to the same place. They will eventually find me and post a new sentry. Perhaps the next will be somewhat entertaining.

p.s. present tense and terse with (only) myself.

Ha ha, starbucks it is then! Anon, boycotting sounds like fun; the only problem is that I still care about what happens to him and the band. It doesn't make it easier and we only see one side to the problem, not both.

I don't want to give up on him or the band yet.

Love's Trinity

Soul, heart, and body, we thus singly name,
Are not in love divisible and distinct,
But each with each inseparably link'd.
One is not honour, and the other shame,
But burn as closely fused as fuel, heat, and flame.

They do not love who give the body and keep
The heart ungiven; nor they who yield the soul,
And guard the body. Love doth give the whole;
Its range being high as heaven, as ocean deep,
Wide as the realms of air or planet's curving sweep.

A Moment to Remember

A magic moment I remember:
I raised my eyes and you were there.
A fleeting vision, the quintessence
Of all that's beautiful and rare.

I pray to mute despair and anguish
To vain pursuits the world esteems,
Long did I near your soothing accents,
Long did your features haunt my dreams.

Time passed- A rebel storm-blast scattered
The reveries that once were mine
And I forgot your soothing accents,
Your features gracefully divine.

In dark days of enforced retirement
I gazed upon grey skies above
With no ideals to inspire me,
No one to cry for, live for, love.

Then came a moment of renaissance,
I looked up- you again are there,
A fleeting vision, the quintessence
Of all that`s beautiful and rare.

It's all I have to bring today--
This, and my heart beside--
This, and my heart, and all the fields--
And all the meadows wide--
Be sure you count--should I forget
Some one the sum could tell--
This, and my heart, and all the Bees
Which in the Clover dwell.

It'll be something new, that's for sure. I guess we'll wait and find out.

I am the fear who doesn't cower
Seeking whom I may devour
Seeking out a girl or a boy
To steal and kill and destroy
Do you even know my name?
You're so pathetic and lame
And before this day is through
I know I'll get to you

I hate you, I hate you
You can't hide from me
And He can't help you

I am and I have been and
I'll always be your enemy
I am your dream come true
Your nightmare hanging in a tree
Your suicide, your wasted life
Your lust for flesh you bitter hag all belongs to me

I hate your guts, you little punk
Don't come around here selling your junk
I know one who's bigger than all your fright
A weenie dog has more bite
You're a maggot, a pain in the neck
A little scratch upon my back
And I laugh at the day when you burn in hell
Forever in your jail

I hate you, I hate you
You can't get to me
He's already saved me

You don't deserve and you won't get
No glory in this song
All power, glory, blessing and honor
Belongs to our God
We lift you up, we magnify
We thank you Lord for giving us life

You don't deserve and you won't get

Hey, Mayo said he didn't mind the poetry; it's his place after all, so.

I Crave Your Mouth, Your Voice, Your Hair

DON'T GO FAR OFF, NOT EVEN FOR A DAY
Don't go far off, not even for a day, because --
because -- I don't know how to say it: a day is long
and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station
when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep.

Don't leave me, even for an hour, because
then the little drops of anguish will all run together,
the smoke that roams looking for a home will drift
into me, choking my lost heart.

Oh, may your silhouette never dissolve on the beach;
may your eyelids never flutter into the empty distance.
Don't leave me for a second, my dearest,

because in that moment you'll have gone so far
I'll wander mazily over all the earth, asking,
Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying?

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
To seek where shadows are
Her pleasant lot.

She left the rosy morn,
She left the fields of corn,
For twilight cold and lorn
And water springs.
Through sleep, as through a veil,
She sees the sky look pale,
And hears the nightingale
That sadly sings.

Rest, rest, a perfect rest
Shed over brow and breast;
Her face is toward the west,
The purple land.
She cannot see the grain
Ripening on hill and plain;
She cannot feel the rain
Upon her hand.

Rest, rest, for evermore
Upon a mossy shore;
Rest, rest at the heart's core
Till time shall cease:
Sleep that no pain shall wake;
Night that no morn shall break
Till joy shall overtake
Her perfect peace.

I hear you answer softly--but how can I be sure that it is you?
Voices surround me,
And in the darkness, their cacophony vies with your truth.
You are keenly aware of me, my voice, my touch, my face:
Of this you have assured me.
But false words attempt to distract me from
The sweetness of you.
What small but priceless intent will reveal you to me,
No matter how far away you go?

The male possom vocalises loudy with grunts while looking to attract a mate

Ah, just like human males.

Wonder if Pickled Possum has a ring tail of brush tail? I must ask her.

I would agree asking a person if they are preganant is rude, but she didn't ask her, she asked on the blog.
It has been asked numerous times on numerous forums and I just don't see asking other people if she was is that big a deal.
The only people who know either way are themselves, people are prone to speculate.
I'm not concerned either way really, if they have children I hope it's when and if they are ready.

Angel that is beautiful

Thanks for posting!!

definately katherine, I just don't see people you don't know on a blog really should be that important.
Real people who you have relationships with can definately use it against you, but virtually, they don't know what they are talking about anyway!
I see them more as just annoying and useless, rather than particularly relevant

Hello again Angel. Beautiful poem, as always.

Elena, many thanks. Your compliment means a wealth of goodness, as you yourself are quite a talented scribe.

You are very kind, Bleeding Chaos. Elena was correct on that point. And hello, Ergoproxy. Your knowledge of Australian wildlife is vast and interesting.

Angel, it is obvious that someone has you by the heartstrings.

Do Angels keep secrets? Who is it?

You know, any time anyone says they're going to bed, I picture them in pajamas with slippers, shuffling down the hall of the house to the room they keep here.

I'm really big on imagination.

Amyranth said...

I'm in my PJ'S too already.

Sounds like everyone is fairly comfy.

ergoproxy said...

make sure you get back to the doctor if it doesn't pick up .

Anonymous said...

Yep. I'm here typing but laying on my bed, chilling.

ergoproxy said...

I'm in shorts and a t shirt, PJ's at 3 in the afternoon is a bit wrong

Amyranth said...

Ergo, you've been a mom for way too long.

If I'm still in my PJ'S at 3pm, then it's wrong to get out of them, cause I'll be back IN them in about 5 to 7 hours.
