On any given day.

You are all seen.

I am here. Not always present, but I am here. I feel each of you even as I move about my world. I presume we have this in common.

This space is mine in confidence, without interruption, without interception, and without edit.

I carry a bit of debt to you that I have not shared. You have reached me in ways you will never know.

You have helped.

p.s. thank you.

Fimble:

You've made me think of one of my favorite songs!

I was born by the river in a little tent
And just like the river, I've been running ever since
It's been a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come

It's been too hard living, but I'm afraid to die
I don't know what's up there beyond the sky
It's been a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come

I go to the movie, and I go downtown
Somebody keep telling me "Don't hang around"
It's been a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come

Then I go to my brother and I say, "Brother, help me please"
But he winds up knocking me back down on my knees

There've been times that I've thought I couldn't last for long
But now I think I'm able to carry on
It's been a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come
.

And I love your spelling. I really do! It's all Englishy :)

That's true Carrie! lol. Clowns. AHH. I remember going to watch a parade downtown when I was younger. My parents had me in a stroller still because I was probably three? Well, I was enjoying myself when a clown came past, stopped right in front of me and smiled. It pinched my cheeks and I had a crying fit. I ran and hid in the bus-shack, and the clown came in there. That traumatized me for life!

New York and New Orleans are my favorite American cities.

Clowns do not scare me. Blimps scare me.

I had a really creepy beetle in my apartment a while ago. It was huge. It looked like an Egyptian scarab. My husband caught it in a cup, and I took it outside.

Anonymous said...

Hey, marthajones!

Hi exodus and TJ

Anonymous said...

Ph, the incident happened when a group of young men, whom we met on the way into the town, began to fight over who would take us around town shopping. They had befriended us on the train, telling us they were students going back home. They took us to a "hotel" run by one of the guys aunts. Picture a room consisting of a a lot of exotic cushions and pillows, with a low table in the middle. Anyway, that night the men invited themselves over for a dinner party which their aunt cooked for all of us. As the night progressed and drinks were consumed they started telling the truth about each other. We found ourselves amongst a group of drug dealers, prostitutes, thieves and scam artists, yet we felt safe because of their honesty, I guess. The bickering started there and progressively got worse over the next few days. Two or three groups of them vied to take us around and it was sort of exciting and adventurous, but also tense at times when they ran into each other. The last night we were there turned into a full out brawl in the city square. We left in a hurry the next morning before someone really got hurt. Good times.

JocelynHolly said...

Haha. The roof rack sounds wonderful! If I placed her nicely in the trunk, then she'd just take up valuable luggage room =]

In hindsight it was much scarier. At the time though it was just another strange situation we had gotten ourselves into. It's hard to be scared when at least two of the guys broke down in tears during the dinner party.

JocelynHolly said...

Haha, sounds good TJ! I think we'll have to make him max out his credit card too at every coffee shop in the country:)

Anonymous said...

Gosh Fim, you are very well-traveled! Wow, that came out wrong. I didn't mean it to sound like you yourself were some kind of tourist mecca or something. (Are you? ;D )

I just got back from Tai Chi but before I go in for a shower, I wanted to tell you something funny. I went out shopping with Mummy K today and we were listening to The Used because Mummy K loves Lies For The Liars (and I was explaining about ANGRY GAY DOLPHINS to her,) and we got to "With Me Tonight" and Mummy K sang the line "I need you; you don't need me" as "I need you; don't eat me." It made me LOL and I had to share that.

Later guys!

resurrected wreck said...

are you going to the new portland show?

No. :( I might try to make it to one of the shows if they were after May 3, as that's when my current work contract ends & I'll have some free time. Before then, thugh, it's going to be too busy at work to take time off to go anywhere.

Are you going to try to meet them?

the people i'm with probably will want to...i haven't decided for myself if i want to -- i met frank after the seattle show but that was unexpected, i hadn't thought anyone would come out.

i guess if it's meant to be, it'll be.

Haha, awwh. I guess we'll have to figure out how to repay him.
