On any given day.

You are all seen.

I am here. Not always present, but I am here. I feel each of you even as I move about my world. I presume we have this in common.

This space is mine in confidence, without interruption, without interception, and without edit.

I carry a bit of debt to you that I have not shared. You have reached me in ways you will never know.

You have helped.

p.s. thank you.

MissTottenham said...

Hey sdock, I've been missing you sweetie.

Hello MissT :)

I used to pretend to be a doctor when I was a wee lass. That was pretty much the extent.

I would pop Barbie's head off and put it back on and say, "All better!"

And, by the by, her weird knees freaked me out.

My favorite childhood toy is my little stuffed bear--named, interestingly enough, Bear--and I still have him! My sister gave him to me when I was 3 and a half. He's very well-loved.

Sorry this took so long, I've been on the phone with my sister (the same one who bought Bear!).

Hello Solly!!!! How are you tonight? Feeling a bit better?

Ohhh....I had two favorite childhood toys. One was this stuffed bunny rabbit my uncle gave me and the other was this plastic lamb on wheels, lol. I dragged that poor thing all over with me!

Fimble Star said...

Fimble Star said...

i used to have a china doll, and yes the hair was cut on that one too. but i pushed the eyes in and drew on her face. then i cut her clothes and she looked aweful. my mother shouted at me all the time for the doll so i never got another one again.

Original Punk J said...

And if the Princess isn't over her migraine, flash one of the recent pics of Frank at her, she'll perk right up. ;)

Heya Mustard! I'm still not used to you guys being here all the time. I like it, for sure, but it's totally freaky.

First of all, that's too freakin' funny.

Secondly, it reminds me of that Nightmare Of You song "I Want To Buried In Your Backyard."

I imagine you having this vigil for zombiefied Barbie.

sdock10 said...

I always chopped Barbie's hair off and put her in the swimming pool.

Hey guys! I'm feeling a little bit better but my migraine is coming back. I can't take over the counter stuff. It doesn't work for me. I have a prescription med that I take but it only helps for like about 4 to 5 hours and then it wears off. And now I don't have anymore. X_X

So, I'm stuck like chuck for now to deal with it.

Life's a bitch but I deal with it.

Yay, Wendy, I'll get to it here directly.

J lived in fear for most of her childhood.

(not really, but it sounds nice and dramatic)

I remember going over to a friend's house one day & played Barbie and Ken with her. Well, you wouldn't be impressed if you saw me trying to play. I'd always bounce the ball really really hard and it'd fly off in another direction.

Basically it allowed me enough time to pick up all the jacks and trail off with my loot.

we had marble season fim!!

you'd set up like a rectangle thing in the dirt with a groove at the end and 2 marbles set in front and people would try and hit them , if they missed you kept their marbles.
I had so many marbles - noone plays it now :(

i loved monopoly

I just didn't have the patience for Monopoly.

Board games weren't really my thing in general.

I dunno why.

OOh wait, I am remembering a game that was shaped like an owl and you had to play it in the dark, anyone?

Fimble Star said...

Well, I had lots of Barbies, and I also had the van and the townhouse. One thing I remember about the townhouse was how we would put Barbie or Ken in the elevator shaft and pretend that we were crushing them. I also had an Easy Bake Oven and all that usual girl stuff for a while.

After a while that got played out and I started to beg for typical "future geek" toys. I had chemestry sets, stethascopes, erector sets, a really incredible microscope, binoculars, sea monkeys, a telescope, and check this out: Does anyone remember Capsela? Capsela RULED.

But more than toys I remember games. Any day spent inside was a bad day. My cousins and our two friends Ronnie and Damian would be outside from the time we got home from school and changed out of our uniforms, till dinner and homework time. Then we'd go outside again till ten. And in the summertime, why then it was from after breakfast until around midnight. The ice cream man used to come around at around 11 or 11:30 PM. He knew us all and he knew the ice cream we would always get. Also at the time they were selling these bubble gum packets with Michael Jackson cards. If you collected all the cards you could tape them together because the back of them was like a puzzle to one big Michael Jackson poster. The ice cream man also had candy cigarettes which we loved. You could blow once out of them and that little bit of dusty sugar would puff out of the end and look like smoke. I always wanted to be a smoker when I was a kid. Odd how that turned out. O_o

We rarely took toys outside, because we played actual games. Now I'm talking about when we were about 11-13 or so. Mostly we played Mental Hospital. And basically that was a game in which we all worked at a mental hospital for the criminally insane, and we would take turns beign either the guards or the patients. Mental Hospital was our second favorite game; our favorite game was Spies. Our Spy group was called The Rockin' Five and every week we would each have an assignment. Get something out of a neighbor's yard, eavesdrop on a conversation, take notes etc. We had code names, too. Mine was Silver Swan and I was the code writer and the Sneaker. (Which meant that I was the one creeping up to windows and stuff.) I can only assume that the neighbors knew we were all creeping around their yards and stuff, but usually didn't bother to do anything about it. What I remember most about Spies was how exciting it was. You really couldn't get caught. You would get that tingling in your spine, you know?

And for traitors we had the Torture Chair. We never had any actual traitors, but we still used the Torture Chair.

Oh, and then we also used to play War, Freeze Tag Where Everybody's It (I made that one up,) SPUDS, and especially Ghost In The Graveyard. Ghost was such a fine game that I remember playing it the night of my high school graduation, in fact. (By that time I had at least three friends and an actual boyfriend.)

I get really rambly when I talk about these times, sorry. ^_^

Fimble: you're going to have to explain POGGS to me

MissT: you'll have to explain "What's The Time Mr. Wolf"
That sounds like one I would have enjoyed :D

Carrie: The only light up game I remember is Light Bright!

Anonymous said...

Oh Splash, I had a Ouija board. Father insisted. ;D My parents showed us how to play it. And yeah, STUFF HAPPENED.

I could tell you this one very involved story that I will never, ever forget. But it is very involved.

Smoke, I have like a whole stack of coloring books, and loads of boxes of crayons! I have the glittery ones, the neon ones, the ones that are scented, just plain ones, the whole works.

*hugs coloring books to self*

I love coloring! And when you get a new box of crayons, isn't it the best? They're all so pretty in their little sections.

Carrie, OOOOHHHH! I remember that! I may have even had one, I don't remember. But it sounds really familiar. I want one now, though!

And as for MCR featuring Christopher Walken:

"WE NEED MORE COWBELL!"

here is the game f poggs

they are little round plactic circles and they have pictures on them. you put the amoung of poggs you want to bet with the other person in the middle and then with a different pogg (different colour) you slam it down as hard as you can to try and trn them over. you win the ones you turn over. you could also have a metal pogg that made the other poggs turn. that was called a keeny. yep i was a good pogg player

(to my memory i think this is all it was, you may wanna check with anyone else who played it)

Anonymous said...

I never had a Oujia board, but I'd love to know what happened if you did.

Stuff like that freaks me out, but that doesn't stop me from being curious O_O

Anonymous said...

The microscope with the slides was awesome, right? It had like a rug fiber, a dog hair, stuff like that.

Solly, that's the one! If you didn't get all the pieces in it would pop up with a loud noise and you would void your bowels in terror. I hated that game but played it like mad.

Oh, our other "toy" was a fallen tree, a rope, a pillow, a dirt road, and whatever car happened to be unfortunate enough to be passing under a bunch of insane children.

Uhm, yeah.

Oh my gosh, Splash asked.
