That poem still upsets me because I feel really bad for the two people in it. I'm glad for the thing that is preventing them--let's call that "reality" for the sake of brevity--but they aren't. And to be unhappy about reality just blows. To be so unhappy about it that you feel like you have to hide so deeply in someone else that you start to become them, that's just full on depressing.
And the most crushing part is that it ends. because those two people? You can just bet that one of them is eventually going to feel less "meldy" than the other, and is gonna go onto other people and "meld" with them, too. Oh, wager on it. 'Cause you know that's how it goes except in the rarest of cases.

Right next door is home of Edwin McCain and also Peabo Bryson. Where Joann Woodword graduated from high school, where the band Alabama played at the whole-in-the-wall "Chiefs", and Amy Grant graduated from college (Furman). Approximately 85 miles south, is the home of Hootie and the Blowfish. To the east is the second most popular beach in the US (but I have stayed away from that tourist trap for close to 15 years, preferring to go a bit more south.)

Two things:
Yep, I like hearing from Mayo, 'cause he's nice to us. Who doesn't? But it doesn't destroy me when he can't or simply doesn't want to answer every little thing. I know some people --yourself perhaps?--put a huge amount of value on every little word and gesture. Me, I just think he's nice and it's fun.
Second thing, the dude has a life, and I like thinking of the fact that he doesn't read every last comment and answer them. None of us do. It's nice to think that whoever he is, he's got something going on besides us.
Okay, there is a third thing and it's this: I've only ever said what I meant, and if that's enough to piss anyone off, then there's nothing I can do about it and it's certainly not going to stress me out. That would be filed under "not my problem" you know?
Off topic but more important, this is what the candidates think of the Real ID program. Take a look at Real ID (this was mentioned in that Zeitgeist movie) and see where you stand on it. From the link I posted, you can easily see where I stand on it, obviously.

God guys, I'm sorry for being such a downer this week. Week? This month. My stupid life has played out like a typical country song (dog died, health is bad, out of work, boy left,) and please trust that this is SO NOT ME. I'm about the happiest person, usually. Well I'm kind of a ho(e). Or at least I try sometimes.
Pretty sure that is someone trying to have everyone on and possibly add a little humor, juvenile though it may be.
So I decided to take a warm bath to warm up, makes sense right? Only it was never warm enough, even when the water was scalding it wasn't warm enough. My reasoning was that I would be uncomfortably warm and would wish to be cold.
Forgetting everything I learned in college, I sat n there for about a half an hour, afraid to get out. Uhh, as it turns out, raising your fever actually makes you colder. Who knew?!*
Anyway, a lesson: do not mess with homeostasis. Just ,you know, let it do its thing.
I guess it's okay I slept the day away?
