The necessary words seem to escape me when I need them most.
As I sit here in this quiet place, I find it difficult to express the entirety of my emotions. I fear that no matter what I write, you will not fully comprehend the impact your thoughtfulness has had on my heart. Could it be that the words escape me? Or is it that the act itself is indescribable? Nevertheless, please accept my humble attempt at expressing gratitude.
You overwhelm me, yet again. Your generosity has renewed my spirit. A gift I will treasure indefinitely.
A kind gesture made its way to my heart. A collection of thoughts, images, photographs, sculptures, paintings, drawings, stories, dirty stories, videos, memories, inspirations, songs, dances, a trip around the world, a mansion, a hand, recipes, poems, puzzles, riddles, and rhymes...they are all amazing. I will spend time admiring each gift, removing them from their boxes, and finding just the right place to keep them.
Soon my gratitude will transcend the buzz, and eventually, I believe you will each hear me. You always do.

I just got back from visiting cousins and Boychild. He's got an upper respiratory and inner ear infection, still you have never seen a happier or more pleasant baby. And me, I'm not a huge fan of babies or anything, not in general. But this one is awesome.
He also rolls his eyes in annoyance, which is hilarious, and no doubt picked up from his teenage foster sister. ^_^

Oh, to answer that question, I'd love to remain in contact with the people here that I like. I think we'd pretty much head over to DM, but I want to clarify that I am not brushing off this blog. Here is where it began and I like it here. I like Mayo. I like the poetry and the thoughts and all that stuff.
One other thing that I've been thinking about a bit lately. Does anyone else notice certain people who only post when they know Mayo is on? Like, they magically appear when he makes a new post and are like "OH HAI!!!!" Then once Mayo says goodnight you don't really hear from them much after that?

Owls can't hunt if they can't fly, so wish him luck. Don't you love owls? I do; I like all raptors. I love how their faces look so sweet and round, but then they can gut a human if given the change. (Well, not a screech I guess, but barnies and ospreys for sure.)

Some friends of ours picked up an injured wedge tail and drove it to the nearest town, it nearly filled the car!But it didn't struggle or anything

Not true. L was a vegetarian for six years, until she developed anemia. Her doctor told her she would need to change her diet if she wanted to be well. She wasn't getting enough protein from eggs or cheese or peanut butter.
And as a diabetic, I can't cut meat out of my diet entirely. I try to cut down on it, but I can't leave it out altogether.

I've had doctors tell me to go back to eating meat, too. I know it's rough, but I think when you really believe in it, you can find alternatives. One of my friends had cancer, had anemia from bleeding internally, etc. and was told to eat meat. She just went to a nutritionalist.
It's very expensive. It's very difficult in a case like that. It's bothersome, tiring, and yeah, super expensive.
But possible if that's what you really want.
my father in law dropped around some sausages he just made, beef with pepper, basil and coriander and beef with smokey bacon, They are just beef as we didn't do a pig, usually we do italian -port, fennel, s & p with pork and beef, then experiment with garlic or chilli. Like 80 - 120 kg at a time it's a family affair!
Fur's availability or the lack thereof is not what makes it cruel and pointless. It's only about status to the people who wear it (which is something that I hate and stand against.) But to anything sentient and aware, it is about suffering.

I'm shock that Benazir Bhutto had so many males that followed her. It's saddens and surprises me that in an area of the world that has little pockets that treat woman as second class citizen. Can have a country so behind a woman to became their next leader yet here in America the idea is still looked down upon.
I'll be honest: I loved the taste of meat. Like, better than anything. up until around college or so, my favorite meal was steak. Raw. Utterly raw. Chop meat too, but mostly just raw steak. My friends and I, we'd heard that it would give you liver flukes if you ate it raw, but that apple cider vinegar would kill them. So we'd do shots of apple cider vinegar and eat raw steak.
I loved turkey sandwiches and chicken salad, bacon etc. LOVED meat.
Then once I found out what the industry was like, I couldn't eat it and still forgive myself. When I started working at the animal hospital I had a long talk with myself. Do I like animals? Do I want to help them? Then can I still eat them? The two seemed mutually exclusive.
People get on my ass all the time about my decision to not eat meat. The first thing they always say is "But veggies are alive too, LOL!!!" That just makes me roll my eyes. I don't know why people are so invested in, and offended by the fact that I do my best not to hurt animals. I'll never understand why that is.

My friend? She actually had multiple myeloma which is probably one of the worst cancers you can get. It is blood and bone cancer. But through alternative treatments along with chemo and a marrow transplant, she actually did beat it. (*knock on wood*)

I'm sorry Kapu but I think nutritionist are full of shit. Two reason a friend of mine goes to one and they told her instead of giving her child juice you should give him diet soda. Because of the sugar. Would it be better to give the kid some juice with less sugar or get a juicer and make your own. Second another friend was told by a nutritionist to drink way to much water than he need to. I told him it wasn't safe. But he wouldn't listen until he went to his Dr. A lot of those nutritionist don't know what they are talking about and just repeat medical urban legends as fact.

We grow our own veggies and our own meat, process it all ourselves, and I also of course buy stuff we don't do ourselves and it doesn't bother me.I know they are healthy and cared for. I do know how food animals are slaughtered and processed and don't like battery hens or feedlots, I prefer to support local butchers who support local suppliers.

My sister runs a family daycare. She of course has to go to educational meetings, seminars, etc.
They were told in one meeting that regular juice, even unsweetened, does contain too much sugar (natural, as in fructose, or sweetened with sugar, which you hardly see anymore anyway). They actually said that the care providers should give the children the actual fruit instead of the juice.
Now...correct me if I'm wrong...but, how is that better when it's the same thing?

J the process of eating the friut reqiures more time and energy than the drinking of juice which also retains very little of the fibre. aglass of apple juice is probably taken from 3-4 apples and is much quicker to drink than a single apple, also there fore supplying 3-4 times the calories.
However fructose, glucose etc is able to be metabolised much better by the body than any artificial sweetener. For hydration purposes unadulterated water is best.
Fruit juice can be diluted for children to avoid the sugar problem but artificial sweeteners should be avoided- diet drinks etc.

Every one I've gone to has been all "YES, we're going to straighten you out and have you eating tofu and fake eggs and all kinds of nasty things you don't like! And you're going to LOVE it! And you're going to be perky like ME!" And then they give you the condescending eye as if to say, "You are an inferior being because you eat JUNK FOOD! And FAST FOOD!"
Now mind you, this is MY experience with those women. There may be some out there who are perfectly normal.

Ironically, the carbohydrates in 4 oz. of apple juice is about equal to those in a medium-sized apple. And both forms are considered "simple" carbs, in that they are absorbed quickly, but don't sustain you as long.
So if you take 4 oz. of apple juice and "pit" it against a medium apple, you basically get the same amount of energy. And if your juice is unsweetened, rather, sweetened naturally, it's equal in sugar content to the apple.
Like you said, the only difference is in how fast it goes in.

The incident at the SF Zoo was awful! Even if the guys were taunting the animal, the zoo should've known what the animal was capable of. I've never felt completely at ease at any zoo that has an open air type of confinement!
Wild animals are just that: wild animals! It is in their nature!

Yeah the fence was only 12 feet and the tiger was 9 feet. The local news was just talking about it. An expert was saying that the tiger had to be very agitated to make the jump because it was over 300lbs.
Agreed, Amyranth. I can't fault the people (unless they were tainting the tiger, then they were asking for it!) but you can't fault the tiger, either. I'd snap, too, and kill some bitches who were in my way.
