Has something happened?
I’m sensing you have had some kind of moment of realization….clarity. Have you?
I’ve had two. Both I can still remember as clearly as if it were yesterday.
The first: my loft bedroom had a huge window; often left the curtains open. Nothing dramatic happened; I just woke up, but really woke up! The sun was streaming through the window and I could feel the heat on my face. I smiled, really smiled, like stupidly grinning till your face hurts. I felt weightless, elated and high even. I knew that I was free; something had shifted, today was a new day and he no longer had a hold over me, it had gone. And so that day I was also gone!
I close my eyes now and I can feel that sun on my face and it feels beautiful.
The second: Again I woke up, really woke up! But it was cold, overcast and miserable.
I looked in the mirror and saw myself, really saw. I was unrecognizable; a person I didn’t want to be and despised. Have you ever done that, Mayo?
It was not beautiful; I felt desperate, ashamed, guilty, scared and alone.
I had become a monster; so desperate to bury it all and convince myself, and others, that I was happy, fully functional, and okay. The crazy-assed shit that I did, the person I tried to be. Yeah, it was fun for a while. Still paying for it now! (Financially mainly, fortunately!)
I knew then that if I did not face the things I’d sought to bury so deep I would never see someone I was proud to be or truly be ‘happy’.
Happiness,eh? You can’t buy it and you sure as hell can’t get it from someone else. I once heard someone define it as ‘a state of mind’. That the shitty part, you have to find it in yourself!
You have to find the pieces of your shattered self; gather them, examine them, try and piece them back together. Is this what you’re doing Mayo?
It takes time; has to be in your own time and in your own way, no-one can do it for you. You will only suck everything from them and be back to square one.
The things you should and shouldn’t have done and said are done, it’s finding the way to use them to get stronger and be better that counts.
Don’t cast aside those who really love you; they love you in pieces and will only love you more once whole. They won’t judge and turn their backs, trust them and they will trust you and respect you for it.
Every day is a new day; most days I can look in the mirror, and you know, basically I am okay!
And honey, this mirror is big enough for the both of us!

Shitsubou, I can't even put how I feel into words. That was such a beautiful and selfless act. S&V20 must be glowing. What incredible timing too. You're always here in our time of need. You most definitely know how to bring out the best in everyone. Your posts bring me inner peace and happiness. You get this daily and I know we keep saying this over and over, but thank you so much for remaining here with us, even when times got hard. You are beautiful.
And to see that you're even willing to edit the post and add in more of our friends just leaves me speechless. You have an amazing heart, whoever you are. If you come to Canada sometime I promise to buy you some Timbits.

You know what lets put the purple one out to pasture. I don't trust its disease ridden carcass. Instead you can all ride my new friend my beautiful black unicorn. She is a beauty and she hates ppus. She uses her magnificent silver horn to impale them. I think you would go way better with our princess than some used up old purple thing.
