Burning the Manual

I have righted myself before you.
Pulled the knife out of my wound,
And shoved it back in yours.
Like you knew I would.
Like you knew I could.
Before I ever had a name
You knew it was there,
Everything for you
And you know it, and I
Know it still, the same.

p.s. who is driving who or...what?

Hello, everyone!

Finishing up house cleaning and getting ready to head out later to see Thouroghfare here in town. Really looking forward to seeing them. Their new album is great, and they (especially the lead singer!) ain't bad to look at either!

Hope everyone is doing good.

Ergo, what a fantastic time you must have had. THE PRIME MINISTER! How cool was that? I saw the pics from you left and it looks like a gorgeous place, and the car was pretty cool too. Not bad for just trying to get a CD. How did Danger Hand like the trip?

Elena, that movie looks priceless! Thor seems to be well up for the job, so to speak. LOL There was a great horrible horror film that J. and I watched years ago (while we were on the phone to each other, one of us got sucked in and called the other, saying "You HAVE to see this, it's so bad it's great!") We MSTed it all the way through. The only thing I can really remember is that Patty Duke was in it, and there was a haunted floor lamp (yes, floor lamp) chasing her! As the reigning bad horror movie queen, maybe you know which one it is? If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it!

Cabana Boy, thank you for the safety knife. I LOLd when I saw that! I guess I could use one of those. :) Do Mayo and I each get one, or do we share that one? (He tends to lose things...)

Lewis, Lewis, Lewis, Hey, Babe! (There might be a song in there somewhere...) Hope you are doing good. I was up around 4:30 this morning (left some stuff for you at Twitter) and I think I missed you by a half and hour or so. One of these days my insomnia and your awake hours are going to mesh. LOL

Amy, ah, so that's what it was about! Just thought I would inquire, but part of me was going "Do I REALLY want to know?" Was this Hazel or Merlot? I bet she was pissed off, but she probably feels better now. It's like when we trim the cat's nails. Rain becomes part Manx, part Chainsaw. And Dumplin doesn't spare the scratches, either. One time I think we emptied a tube of Neosporin between the two of us afterwards. It was "Ok, is there any skin left that isn't bleeding?"

Hey to everyone else, and talk with you later. Probably won't be back in till early morning, so I'll say Good Night now.

Love ya,
L.

Mayo,

Don't forget to put the saftey knife back where you found it after you open the new pack of batteries.

If we only have the one.

You know, we never did find the cheese grater.

I don't want to know.

Love ya,

Good to read you L. I think that movie was called the evil escapes.

S.S.,

Hey, how's it going? If you get a chance, check out this band.

Thoroughfare's "Is It Alright", L.'s Musical Recommendation For The Day

Oh, we've moved on from half-eaten lizards, now. Rain found a "Special Mousie" (ie one that moves on it's own power, at least for a while) and plopped it down in the living room, laid down beside it and looked like "See what I did? Brought you a present. I only got one, so you have to share. Aren't I good?"

So, hope you have no half-eaten lizards, birds or mousies in your day, even if they are considered a present. :)

Love,
L.

Thanks, anon! I coudn't think of that at all. Have you seen it?

L, it was Hazel. Her mats were really really bad, and you're right, she's damn near ecstasy now without all that extra fur.

I clipped her nails myself before we left, and I'm glad I did. Even with her dull nails she left some pretty good marks on me!

Is everyone out by the pool again?

Hello Mayo, SS, Amy, L, Ergo, Elena, Lewis, TJ, Pinkberry Fruit Parfait lovers, various other anons and lurkers!

How are you all today? Did you all have a good day? I hope so!

L: Thank you for the music recommendation! I really like this "Thoroughfare"!!! Did you say them were from Tennessee? Perhaps KOL should take them on tour (as their opening band)!

Advice for tonight: Have fun, have fun, have fun! Also, please do some singing along and dancing for me. And last, but certainly not least, "Take it for what it is". (That's some helpful advice my dad used to give me when I was a teenager 'heading out the door').

:P

Ergo: What a great experience you had!!!!! The Prime Minister! WOW! I'm so happy to hear you had such an amazing experience. Did the newpaper call yet?

Amy: Might I recommend 'Bullfrog Superblock SFP 50'? It's incredible! Someone could drop you off at the beach in Grand Isle, LA; leave you ~ chained to the dock in the sun; come back 8 hours later to get you and you wouldn't have even a tiny trace of pink on your skin!

Elena: I loved your THOR review! It made me want to watch it again.

Sweetcheeks: E~mail and harassing "tweets" on the way!

Is anyone going see 'Orphan' today/tonight? That one looks good!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

A man is sitting in a restaurant and there is a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He has been checking her out since he sat down, but lacks the nerve to talk with her.

Suddenly she sneezes, and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket toward the man. He reflexively reaches out, grabs it out of the air, and hands it back.

'Oh my, I am so sorry,' the woman says as she pops her eye back in place.

'Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you,' she says.

They enjoy a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they go to the theatre followed by drinks. They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and
he shares his. She listens.

After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap and stay for breakfast. They had a wonderful, wonderful time.

The next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy is amazed. Everything had been SO incredible!
'You know,' he said, 'you are the perfect woman. Are you this nice to every guy you meet?'

'No,' she replies. . .

Wait for it. .

It's coming.

The suspense is killing you, isn't it?

She says:

'You just happened to catch my eye.'

Amyranth said...

Okay, okay, if we're going to share completely awful jokes about eyeballs.

Once there was a man who had a wooden eye. (Don't ask me why, the poor guy couldn't afford glass, so it was made out of wood.) As a result he was painfully shy and very lonely. His friends told him that he had to go out, to meet people, and finally convinced him to go to a dance. At the dance, he stood at the punchbowl, by himself, until he noticed a young lady with a cleft palate standing alone by the wall.
"Gee," he thought. "She isn't dancing either -- I'll ask her." He approached her and said, "Excuse me miss, would you like to dance?"
"Would I?!" she replied.
"CUNTFACE!!" the man shouted.

Anon616 said...

Hello (again) Ergo!!!

Sorry it took so long to say that. I had to go do a little "cha~cha~ing".

Let us know if the radio station calls. Ohhh... I would love to hear an 'Ergo meets the Prime Minister' radio report/interview!

:D

Speaking of dancing (as I did up there), did you see this?

~~ Boogie on down the aisle!!!~~

Now, that's the way to do it! I don't think anyone will forget that wedding march!

I've been cleaning out cupboards again, and found photo albums full of all my old photos I'd taken as a teen, school reports, 21st invites, xmas cards, ticket stubs, (yep I keep lots of stuff)....all with people I remember having such fun with but have no idea where they are now.
Funny to think they probably wonder the same about me

*sigh* reminiscing is good but sad at the same time

mayo,

it was one of those nights, i guess. i peeked in occasionally but didn't have anything to say. sometimes, everything i think of writing falls incredibly short, and i can't imagine i have anything to say that anyone could possibly want to hear.

i've learned to wait it out. it'll pass eventually.

so, what happened that was good today? what can i share with you?

since i've been minding the shop by myself this week, it's given me the freedom to leave a window on my computer open to my twitter, so i was able to check in now and then throughout the day. a lot of the people i follow were at the comic-con, so all day long i had little glimpses and updates.

that's not much to write about, but there you go.

good night mayo. i hope your day was filled with more than glimpses.

Sorry I don’t have time for a proper goodnight but I’m seriously bogged down with work. Not that I’m complaining because actually I’m pretty excited about it. You see I went to a garage sale today and you’ll never guess what I got. Okay, don’t guess, I’ll just tell you. I walked into this garage and there sat 12 boxes of comics. Seriously, if I was a guy I woulda gotta woodie. I mean I peered in the first one and it was filled with old horror comics. Crap I was so excited but I tried not to get too thrilled because I was afraid the guy would want too much for them. Then I looked in the other boxes, there are so many cool titles I can’t even begin to tell you. But I did just find (still unopened) the six-issue set of Star Wars Dark Empire II with the foil covers. My heart went pitter-patter. LOL Anyway, I looked at all these comics and asked the guy what he wanted for all of them. By a quick count in my head I knew there had to be over 1000. Well I was off a bit. There was 2290 and they aren’t all comics. Many are graphic novels. And…drum roll…he sold them all to me for $75.00. (total happy dance now). So now I have to go through all of them, decide which ones I want to keep, and sell the ones I can part with. My study looks like a booth from Comic-Con.

Anyway, hope you had a day that made your heart go pitter-patter. Take care.

Come one, come all, to the Vampires' Ball!!! It's "Homecoming" too! So, sharpen those fangs and let those claws grow.

That is correct. The Vampire Ball returns to New Orleans this Halloween weekend!

~Les Temps des Vampires Ball/TRU BLOOD AND GOLD BALL~

Did they have to schedule it on Halloween weekend? (Answers self: "Of course they did!").

Responds to self: But, VOODOO FEST is that weekend! POOP!

*thinks*

Perhaps I'll simply have to miss whoever is headlining VOODOO on October 30th. As long as I don't miss KISS!!!! And, I would never do that! I don't care how "tru" a vampires blood is!

:P

I wonder if Sookie Stackhouse will bring any of the "Tru Blood" cast with her? Hmmm....

Sweetcheeks and Em: Ya'll must come! We shall dance, eat, drink, be merry, suck heads till dawn ~ when all good vamps and other creatures of the night must lay their 'heads' (or tails) to rest!

;)

Goodnight Mayo, SS, Ergo, Elena, TJ, Sweetcheeks, L, J, Mya, everyone!

just watched National Treasure, never got around to seeing it before, must say finding treasure room would be fulfilment of a a childhood fantasy and if I was ever being chased by gunmen I would like those guys, must be absolute worst shots ever, think I could even do better! Amazing how gunmen in movies either pull of totally improbable feats of shooting, or cannot hit bullet with side of barn (must be prerequisite for bad guys)
much love EP xx

SS
could you imagine finding a huge room full of treasures, I often dream things like that, not ever a real treasure people would go "Ooooh" at, but finding a room of old furniture and cupboards and boxes and things. As my dad worked in theatre we often got to poke about and explore old props and scenery storage, had an absolute ball , it was as close to treasure hunting and exploring I've ever been, hope you get the chance to do the same, it's fun
lotsa love EP xx

KOL anon said...

Hello, everyone. 'Sup?

Cute pics, 8:04. ^_^

As you probably guessed, I'm here to post some links. KOL are featured in this week's Entertainment Weekly and I just happen to have scans. Scan one and scan two. It's a nice little article that addresses (among other things) the issue of the break-up rumors, as well as what happened to Caleb's guitar. I don't usually post scans, but this article is only two pages, so I figured why not?

Lewis, I'm posting this link, just for you. It's the guys performing a crowd favorite, "Fans" for 2007's Reading festival. Amazing, innit? Is it any wonder they're headliners this year? ^_^

Also, for Wendy, here's a live performance of Revelry. It's such a shame they took this out of their setlist (too country, I suppose), because it's one of my favorites from OBTN. Caleb sounds just as good live as he does in the studio. By the way, the "woo-oo-oo-ooooo" part in the chorus? That's Nathan. That always makes me smile, because people think drummers can't sing. ^_^

Oh, and Wendy! If you can get down to Atlanta on October 9th, you most definitely can come to the show with me. I will find you a ticket, I promise! ^_~

Hope all of you are well. Have a great rest of the weekend and a great next week.

Wendy, I don't know if Thoroughfare is coming to NOLA, but Sore Eyes is with Trauma Deville sometime after September.

We had a FANTASTIC time last night, danced, sang, talked, laughed, and had a great time talking to the bands. Members of both Thoroughfare and Sore Eyes are really nice guys.

How's everyone tonight?

I'm good thanks L, still doing hose cleaning but that's normal
made a fantastic dinner last night, I cooked duck breast for the first time ever, and it turned out great, just like I've seen on tv

and I did a thing called tarte flette
I saw on tv, def not low cal
I used brie instead of the other cheese, as I couldn't find it, the proper cheese is a bit blue so may try a mix next time, and I didn't cover it in foil and I didn't turn it but it was AWESOME!!!!

ergoproxy said...

fucking hose is never clean!!

HOUSE cleaning *sheesh*

Original Punk L said...

Hey egro, hopefully the "hose" is all clean now. LOL

That potato dish looks yummy. I bet is was really good.

We did have a great time, and stayed around afterwards and talked with the bands. I love new bands, they're out there with the merch, with the fans, and seem to be so appreciative of the people who come to see them.

The Cider House is a really neat venue too, used to be an old warehouse. The larger part of the warehouse is The Valarium, which holds over 1000, and The Cider House is a smaller club that holds about 600.

ergoproxy said...

that is so neat, we don't really have many bands come here, though there have been some good local ones, as soon as they want to be better known they have to go to the capital, then once they are they rarely ever tour regional centres.
It's understandable as they don't have the population and it's such a long way to get to all the places, still we get a few good ones, but long time in between.

never get any international acts of course, though I think they'd be surprised how it'd go if they ever took the chance.
it is good when you get to talk to people though, they are usually really nice, interesting people

Original Punk L said...

It is a shame that bands don't play some of the smaller towns. Even though there may not be as many people total, the number of people attending would probably be just as many or not more as a medium/large town, since so few acts come to them.

We get a ton of smaller bands, but not as many big name acts. We do get them, just not as much as Nashville or Atlanta.

J. was at the merch table for Sore Eyes and their guitarist, Jerimiah, asked her how she liked the show, and when she told him she loved it, he lit up, the biggest smile on his face, and grabbed one of their CDs and held it out to her. He very enthusiasticly said "Do you want to buy a CD?! It's only five dollars?!" She got one of them and he told her "Take that home, burn many, many copies and give them to everyone you know!"

I loved that.

ergoproxy said...

Oh that's great, I have a band on myspace who puts out downloads and tells you to send it to people. It is a great way to get exposure

They'd get people travel for miles to go see them, if they did.
I think a main reason is the distance, if you wanted to play say the 5 biggest towns up the coast of queensland, you pretty much would have a full days drive between each, then the days to drive back, and that's only the coast of one state!
Damn our sunburnt country and it's ludicrous distances!! lol

Anonymous said...

For Star Wars fans. It's a bit sad.
Jul 25 2009Lil' Anakin Skywalker Hates Star Wars, Sort Of

Original Punk L said...

Damn the distance, ergo, damn the distance! LOL

I see what you mean. Of course, most of these guys are young, they can take the drive with 8 people crammed in a van, broken a/c, counting change out of the seats for meals, passing out from the smell and Lord knows what coating the floorboards.

Seriously, I wonder if sometimes bands that have "made it" ever look back on those days and think they had it better then. When they were starting out and feeling like they could take on the world. It's so easy to lose sight of what it's really all about. The music, the band, the fans. Nothing else really matters.

ergoproxy said...

I think they would, it becomes a lot more complicated, I even think that with my life, think back to my teens and all the fun I had when you don't have responsibility and financial pressure and all that, you felt more free I suppose, like anything was possible, then life hits you with reality lol

Original Punk L said...

I know! And there was those times when you thought, "When I leave home, I'm going to get this and this and this, and my apartment will look like this..." and then you discover that once you pay your rent, electric bill, phone bill, cable bill, car payment, insurance, credit card bill, get groceries and gas, you can get...

maybe a place mat.

If your lucky.

ergoproxy said...

yeah
I used to think nothing of being rung up at 5am (before mobiles so it woke the house) being told "the surf is pumping we are going up the coast wanna come?, pick you up in 20 mins"
getting dressed, grabbing a box of cereal to eat on the beach as the sun rose, and running out when the car pulled up.
I even once went to a surf carnival with a good pal and slept in the back of his car, with the surfboard as we had no accommodation and he wouldn't put it outside.

Now you think ,
well I have to wash those clothes
and I should do that paperwork, have I got something out for dinner?
We have work/school tomorrow...

etc
but have to say, we do still do it sometimes, just "fuck it, make some sandwiches we are going fishing"
though it takes longer than 20 mins to get ready lol

Original Punk L said...

It's true! You just get up and go, no matter what time it was, or what was going on. When I lived in Chattanooga, I thought nothing of taking off for Atlanta at 11:00 at night to go to a club or show and getting back the next morning.

Now, I gotta think about it. LOL

The surfboard, a box of cereal, a ride, what else did you need? :)

ergoproxy said...

for sure, I spent many a morning watching the guys surf while we ate, then exploring rock pools and stuff, we weren't anyone's girlfriends, all just pals and we had such fun times, the smell of surfboard wax still takes me back..
went to heaps of pubs too, to see bands play, a lot of early Oz bands like the Angels, Rose Tattoo, Radiators
it was different then though, I look at all the violence happening in clubs now and it just didn't go on back then, there were sometimes fights of course, but not like today with knives, glassing or huge brawls
It's a shame really

Original Punk L said...

By the way, to the anon who left the cute links, they are darling. Thanks!

Anon who left the Anakin link, how sad that he was bullied in high school AND into college because he was in that movie. It really affected him, you can tell. Seems like 90% of child actors, muscians or anyone that becomes famous at an early age have a hard time afterwards. Usually it's from having parents that care more for the money than the child. There are exceptions, they just seem to be few and far between.

Original Punk L said...

Ergo, it is a shame that it's become dangerous to go to some pubs or venues. Even school is dangerous compared to what I knew.

mayo,

nothing new to report. today was my last day having the shop to myself, and it wasn't too bad. didn't bludgeon any quilters with bolts of fabric.

one good thing was that i found my composition notebooks, and they were on sale, no less, so how about that for good timing. i'm going to try to actually start using them this weekend. keep your fingers crossed.

there are times when the path before me is so dry and barren, i doubt ever being able to accomplish even one of my goals. some of the same set-backs keep happening, again and again, and they are undoubtably due to some fundamental failings on my part.

and i am afraid that the fact of it might be that no matter how hard you try, sometimes you just aren't good enough. ever.

gotta keep trying though, right? even when you have the sneaking suspicion that all your hopes are false...you can't give up. i don't know why i believe that. it's not inspiring, it's just hard.

sorry. stupid ramble.

i hope you have a good night, mayo, and a wonderful tomorrow.

The guitar player for KOL is fug.

July 25, 2009 9:39 PM

Whoa. Do you really think so? I suppose you're entitled to your opinion, but it was a bit rude to post it.

I don't happen to agree with you (lol, betcha didn't see that one coming). I think Matthew is adorable. No, he's not as photogenic as the other guys, but he's very attractive, especially onstage and in person. He has unusual bone structure (which I happen to think is compelling and very attractive), and admittedly doesn't like the camera, which you can see in this pic (he's the one on the far right).

But, get him in an unguarded moment or when he's smiling and interacting with fans and showing his lovely smile and dimples and he transforms. Like his cousins, he has lovely skin and brilliant eyes.

More importantly, he's a hell of a guitar player, which makes him all the more attractive onstage. I know a lot of fans who will tell you he's their favorite.

He may not be your cup of tea, but I would never call him "fug."

I enjoyed your links, OPL. I'm glad you and OPJ had such a great time at your show.

I've heard of Sore Eyes and (to a lesser extent) Thoroughfare, but I've not seen them. I'll make a point of checking them out the next chance I get.

I've been to the Valarium, but I don't think The Cider House was open then. I saw Taking Back Sunday there in December of last year (along with Envy on the Coast). There was a local band who also played, but I can't remember much about them. I was fending off some drunken fratboy who had worked up the courage to hit on an older woman. Don't you hate that shit?

It's always great to see bands before they get big. The second time I saw KOL they were playing at The Tennessee Theater and after the show they hung around and talked to everyone. They were pretty drunk at the time, but they were very nice. It was quite a bit different seeing KOL this past year (I went to the Charlotte and Cincinnati shows). And it's really going to be weird seeing them at Phillips Arena in Atlanta. I remember when they opened for U2 and the people around us wouldn't shut up and listen to their set. My, how things have changed.

I will keep my eyes open for some good shows at The Cider House and who knows? Maybe I'll see you guys there.

This place still exists?

I'm impressed how you've all pulled through the hassle that was constantly being brought upon this place. It's obviously still full of love and kindness by those certain few then.

When I used to come here as frequent as I could, back in September 2007 when I joined.. I was overwhelmed by the amount of considerate, lovely people I found. I struggled with things that we all go through, but being someone fortunate, I had good people around me to help me through. Those people may have just been letters sprawled across the internet to some, but to me they were what I considered friends.

I'm not here often enough to thank everyone for being such good people. Anyone who's had the pleasure in speaking with you all, including Mayo, are lucky to have done.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is thankyou. And dont change, ever.

Your all the greatest and I've missed you.

"I'm impressed how you've all pulled through the hassle that was constantly being brought upon this place."

Jade, the people who are here BROUGHT that hassle. Some did it anonymously and some did it signed in. The endless harassment of who they called "the porchies" that started with Amyranth's "Fix" where she told them that their poetry was "beyond pathetic" and not wanted here, to the continuing harassment by the OPs by posting their real full names, where they live, their ISPs, to Wendy and Mya sending emails about them, and Wendy flipping out at Kapu for something that Miss Tot said.

I witnessed all of that and that's when I stopped loading this page every few days and now I only come to see if anything changed, every month or so.

And nothing has changed except that the people here are big fat hypocrites pretending to be so nice, in case SS comes back in.

Alright anon,

1st. Amy didn't post the fix here she wrote it at her blog and another anon came along and posted it here. Which is the same thing that happened with that ip address it was post off mayo's and brought here by an anon.

As far as Wendy sending out emails I know nothing about that. But seeing as people like you like to come on here and make shit up. I am going to with that is what is going on.

As far as Mayo and SS go the only people here who are trying to convince those two of something are you. You really need to give it because if you can't tell by know those two are going to talk to who ever the want and your lies and twisting of the truth is doing nothing but making you look silly and beyond pathetic.

difficult to think of what to say. i can't go outside and walk around under the night sky. that usually opens up my thoughts a bit.

instead it's just me sitting here at this computer with the same old things circling around and around...

regardless, i persevere.

the movie i watched with dinner tonight was something called "the history boys" (written by alan bennett and based on his play of the same name). it was very good, halfway just because i loved hearing all the british accents. i really need to get back to england.

anyway, it took place in a school, about a group of students studying for the oxford/cambridge exam. at one point, one of the teachers was tutoring a student in poetry, and he said this:

the best moments in reading are when you come across something, a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things, that you'd thought special, particular to you. and here it is, set down by someone else, a person you've never met, maybe even someone long dead. and it's as if a hand has come out and taken yours.

i've had that experience, it's astonishing, and one of the rare gifts that come with being a reader.

i hope you've had it, too.

Well my day was spent surrounded by comics. Only about 2000 more to deal with, LOL. But I did find some more great Star Wars issues and some really great old horror comics. Oh and the whole run of Debbie Does Dallas. Uh, seriously never knew they made that into a comic. Pretty sure I could have gone a whole lifetime not knowing that.

So by early evening I was ready for a break. Fred and I popped in “Invasion Iowa”. I had never seen the show but oh Lord was it a treat. Gotta say I love William Shatner. He’s so…well he’s so Shatner. I don’t know if you’ve seen it so I don’t want to give it away but damn it was good. It was very, very funny and I have to be honest a few times it actually brought a tear to my eye (and no that wasn’t caused by Shatner’s acting). You should defiantly check it out. All I know is now I’m on a quest to find a “Shat Hat”. Yes, the hat that bravely goes where no hat has gone before.

Well, back to work for me. Guess I keep on with the comics until my eyes refuse to stay open. Take care.

Night Mayo

As Adorable, Mad and Wicked as Shakespeare and Bradbury. You?

...Beware the autumn people...For some, autumn comes early, stays late, through life, where October follows September and November touches October and then instead of December and Christ’s birth there is no Bethlehem Star, no rejoicing, but September comes again and old October and so on down the years, with no winter, spring or revivifying summer.
For these beings, fall is the only normal season, the only weather, there be no choice beyond.
Where do they come from? The dust. Where do they go? The grave. Does blood stir their veins? No, the night wind. What ticks in their head? The worm. What speaks through their mouth? The toad. What sees from their eye? The snake. What hears with their ear? The abyss between the stars.
They sift the human storm for souls, eat flesh of reason, fill tombs with sinners. They frenzy forth. In gusts they beetle-scurry, creep, thread, filter, motion, make all moons sullen, and surely cloud all clear-run waters. The spider-web hears them, trembles—breaks.
Such are the autumn people. Beware of them.

Well, while I have the opportunity, I can tell y'all that we're not moving after all. Apparently the upper management's decided not to pay for movers. So the plan is now to knock down the interior wall only, replace it, the sliding-glass doors, and my big bedroom window. I think they're going to put something on the floor, too, to seal the hole. Plus, the apt manager says they'll also paint the whole apt and replace the carpeting and linoleum with new. We're going to see if we can score a new dishwasher out of this, too. Ours sucks.

So now we'll have to take stuff off the affected walls and move some furniture. I'll have to move out of my bedroom for a couple-three weeks, also. Where I'm gonna put myself, I have no idea. Ah well, sacrifices! ;)

Miss T, hope you're doing alright after your procedure. Drop a line when you're able, ok? Thinking about you; love you! *hugs*

Hello Mayo, SS, Ergo, Martha, KOL Anon, Amy, J, MissT, m., Jade, Elena, FASC, Lewis, TJ, everyone!!!

How are you all today/tonight? Well and good, I hope!

MissT: I'm so happy to hear from you! My happiness continues in knowing 'things' went well. Rest and relax for a few days then come back and give us all the gory 'girl bit' details. I love horror flicks!
;)

L: I really enjoyed seeing your photos and videos!! Thank you for sharing them with us. I think I might have to check out these bands! Have a nice time at the parents!

KOL Anon: Yet another *thank you, thank you, thank you*. The scans were beautiful (and a great read) and that Reverly video gave me chills (the good ones)!

"It's moments like that where you realize you need to take a break."
C.F.

Yes, indeed, it is! I hope he's not having nightmares about his beloved Gibson. He made a mistake; it happens. He must not let what happened haunt him!

I don't think they need to worry, a bit, about their "artistic integrity". I think it's alive and well! I'll never understand why 'fans' turn on bands who become successful. It's almost a jealousy thing with these 'fair weather fans'. They loved the music until the band becomes successful and they have to share the music (and recognition of the band) with the masses. I don't get it...

I, also, agree with you about Mathew. I think he's adorable. Those eye, those dimples, that smile, that unkempt hair...
I like it!

Jade: It's so good to see you, love!!! How's your little sister and the rest of your family? All's good, I hope!

m. and FASC: It's great to see the both of you too!!! The same 'good' wishes apply to you!

Ergo: How's the baking coming along? I bet we have a couple of blue ribbon winners already!

Elena: Have 'fun, fun, fun till your hubby takes that T~bird away'!

I think that is all for now.

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

Lo, and she said verily, "I have knowledge of the fudge of which you speak
it cometh in both caramel and chocolate
created from knowledge passed down for over 100 years"

Ah! Prithee, I must have been greatly bless-ed from my ancestors to have knowledge of they who know fudge.

*swoons*

How's it goin, y'all? ;D

ergoproxy said...

I'm good thanks just letting my marshmallow mix II cool before I beat it

tip: 2 tablespoons of gelatine does not mean 4, oops

Amyranth said...

HAY J!

'Sgoinon?

Amyranth said...

LOL.

4tbsp of gelatine? Do you want to be the real stick to your ribs kind, or what?

Speaking of stick to things, my cousin's little one has a massive cavity in her head that is infected so badly the child's face is swollen like she's got her own fist in her mouth.

She'll have to be sedated for the surgery, which means they can't do it in CB, so she either has to wait a year and a half (WTF? SRSLY? WTMFF??), or make the 5 hour drive to Halifax for the operation.

Un-fucking-believable.

ergoproxy said...

oh poor little thing!!
and they suggested waiting was ok? Would antibiotics ease it, surely they couldn't expect that to be an option?
I think I'd be doing the drive, she can't stay like that. Can they go to Halifax?

Amy the smell of the hot gelatine was my first hint it wasn't right, not the way it's supposed to smell at all

Amyranth said...

Oddly enough, they actually suggested waiting was okay. Never mind the fact that a rampant infection in the child's head would not be good for her at all.

So yes, I think they're going to make the trip to Halifax, like I said it's only 5 hours versus a year and a half, which I still can't fucking believe.

Lots of doctors in CB are like that though, usually it's because facilities and resources are so limited, otherwise it's because they want more money out of you.

Thankfully, her Dad is working in Halifax and living with her Uncle, so I think she's just gonna spend part of summer vacation in the big city with Daddy.

Original Punk J said...

Oh my cow, Amy, that's horrible! Is the cavity actually IN HER SKULL or is it in a tooth?

Nothing much is going on tonight--thank Heaven--the furbabies and I are hangin' out, being quiet. How's by you?

And the baking continues in Ergo's Kitchen! How much do you hate chocolate by now? ;D

toujours said...

hello everyone.

amyranth, it's good that they decided to make the drive, but holy cow that's a decision you'd never think you have to make. scary.

Amyranth said...

J, as far as I know, the cavity is in her tooth. However, she's only five, and not gearing up to lose her teeth by any kind of natural means. I know I had a couple of cavities in my head when I was 8 or 9, and the doctor said they were baby teeth and I'd lose them eventually. With the pain that my cousin says she's in though, I wonder about the location of the infection.

What worries me most is the infection though. I don't doubt that my cousin has her on some kind of anti-biotics to ease the swelling and whatnot, but how'd it get infected in the first place?

Amyranth said...

Hey Teej!

Not only that, but it sucks that they have to drive for five hours, because apparently extracting an infected tooth from a child's head is too hard for the dentist.

Christ Almighty.

ergoproxy said...

not so much chocolate as sugar J, my hands are sticky and you ahve to soak everything in between as it almost welds stuff together as it cools and sets, plus I end up finding sugar everywhere as you get drips or splashes

I am going to stop at marshmallow I think, at least for a bit to have a rest
the stuff isn't hard just takes time and seeing as I'm working thursday I have to finish it up earlier than planned, it has to be at the pavillion friday morning

Amy, that's a good idea, and a bonus little vacation makes it a bit nicer considering it won't be pleasant
small towns are like that, most serious stuff here gets sent to a bigger hospital further north, if not down to the capital, as well as elective stuff if if you want it done sooner, specialists come once a month and have waiting lists.
it's annoying for people who have ongoing treatments as they either have to move there for the time, or go back and forth

ergoproxy said...

hello TJ :]

Original Punk J said...

That does sound strange, Amy. How long has she had this infection? She should've been on antibiotics from the time of first diagnosis. Regardless, I hope she does alright and they can treat her successfully.

Hey TJ.

toujours said...

hi ergo, you certainly sound like you've got your hands full. :)

amyranth, better safe than sorry, though. i'd wouldn't want to ask a dentist or a doctor to do a procedure they weren't comfortable with. yikes.

Ergo, I know we live in a castle, but, the Plague? I don't think Mayo will let us hang that up.

Amyranth said...

Teej, I think because it involves sedation they're not exactly wild about doing it to a 5 year old.

J, my cousin said it started around the 10th of July, and she went to the dentist the same day. She just heard back from the office yesterday telling her that they can't get the specialist in sooner, and because of that she'd be on a year and a half wait to see him.
