Set to self-destruct.

The saddest girl
In the whole world
Sits in thirty day
Thinks she owns it.
Models herself a pro
With every word just so
Crack answers for everything
And a lie to keep you guessing
Is she real or just made-up.

She says she's lost her life
And can't tell where to find it.
So she sold her soul for the high
Of the sweet synthetic lullaby.
Where's the bottom when you need it?

The saddest girl
In the whole world
Just told the doctor she's fine
The problem isn't mine
"It's them." and they've ruined me
And all that I could ever be.
So now she has a new disguise
and half-way covers her eyes
with a crystal crooked crown
Slipping just missing her frown.

She says she's lost her life
And can't tell where to find it.
So she sold her soul for the high
Of the sweet synthetic lullaby.
Where's the bottom when you need it?

She used to be a little girl
The sweetest you've ever seen.
Now she's just a tracing
Of a near broke beauty queen.

Just for you Ergo.

good morning all
it's rainy here

anon your comment about the guitarist reminds me of one of the Monty Python guys who when asked if they'd ever reunite answered they would, as soon as Graham Chapman could be there.

Mya, thanks so much but really I'm not that great, I manage to stuff up a lot of stuff in my own life, sometimes it's easier to help other people than see your way out of your own stuff. But I do try to stay positive and, fair enough, I am able to do quite a lot, lol. So thanks so much for the compliment, and your sis-in-law must be a great lady, you're so lucky to have her in your life.

Elena hope the special meal goes well and Happy Father's Day to hubby

Amy, you are evil you know lol, happy fathers day to your men too

and Happy Father's Day to all the dads of all the bloggers, hoping everyone celebrating can do so in a way that honours any men in your lives who take on the fatherly role, genetics isn't the only thing that makes a "dad"

we don't have the day here today, well yesterday, we celebrate in september

oh I did like what Pres Obama said too, about men needing to take responsibility and be fathers, it's make a huge difference in a lot of lives all over the world

Hi J hope you're well
glad Logan is a bit better this morning, hope he continues to improve, and that the vet can help when they speak to L

So Im watching TV and I just saw a commercial for Miracle Whip that cracked me up.

In Other Words

Don't Be So Mayo

ergoproxy said...

LOL elena , was that the one Mya mentioned the other day?
It sounds funny

I haven't ever eaten Miracle Whip, we can buy it, I just always buy whole egg mayo, and I am not sure whether I'd like it
How does it compare in taste?

mya said...

Hi, Elena and Ergo!
Yes, that's the commercial I was talking about! Isn't that hilarious?!

I don't like Miracle Whip. It is too sweet. I like the whole egg mayonnaise too.

And by the way, I think you are that awesome!

Original Punk J said...

Hey y'all! I'm here.

Anon616 said...

Hello Mayo, Mya, Ergo, J, Amy, Sweetcheeks, Elena, SS, various anons and lurkers, everyone!

How are you all tonight? Did you all have a nice fathers' day? I hope you all did!

Today was a day of remembrance for me. Ten years, 3 months, 6 days since I last looked into the beautiful baby blue eyes of my dad...

I'll never forget that last look ~ when he called me back into the hospital room (I think he knew). The last "I'm so proud of you. I love you, Wen." And the "I'm proud of you daddy. I love you too."

I'll never forget anything about that beautiful, wonderful, gentle giant of a man. Happy Fathers' Day, daddy!!!

Mya and Martha: Thank you both, so much, for the messages!!!!
*huge hugs*

3:03/18/38 ~ Thank you for the videos of Nick. He is another one who will never be forgotten. Another kind, gentle, gracious (and flawed) soul.

Another ~ lured by a "sweet synthetic lullaby ~ who could only find "the bottom" in another world. Rest in Peace, Nick.

*hopes Mayo doesn't mind my borrowing his words*

Well, I do believe that is all for now.

Have a good night, everyone!

Hugs and Love,
~Namaste~

Original Punk J said...

Hi TJ! Yeah, Father's Day does bring up some memories. *hugs*

Just got off the phone with Lisa. She said Logan's doing great! The only thing that would tell you something happened to him is the trouble he's having standing up. That fiendish right side won't cooperate. But he's been moving both right legs--almost like he's exercising them! He's a fighter, just like his mum. ;)

Hey Ergo! Rainy Monday for you, hunh?

I also wanted to say:

Look at Bobby behind those drums and Chuck strutting his stuff (like the stud he was ~ back in the day) in those videos!

3:03 ~ If you come across any videos from "The Rain", please don't post them here. I'm in one (or two) and that could prove to be quite embarassing!

Original Punk J said...

That's good, Ergo. Did you manage to get your walk in?

What movie did you see, TJ?

ergoproxy said...

I did J though it was very overcast when I did, it's clear blue sky now, we have odd weather

good to hear Logan is much better

it is, ergo. the scenery was lovely, very dramatic.

i think it's nearing time for em to be heading to bed. normally i'd stay up tonight, not having to work tomorrow, but i'm going into town in the morning to do some shopping. it's the fill-the-gaps-in-my-wardrobe-before-i-go-on-vacation shopping trip!

so, i'll say good night. hope you guys all have a good day tomorrow! sweet dreams ergo, j., and bc. :)

judt saw your question, j.! i borrowed "australia" from my sister tonight. it's a long film -- 2 hr 45 min! -- but well worth it. :)

toujours said...

aw, that's a shame, ergo. :(

*hehee*

but i bet when you see those places in the movie they will look slightly strange to you -- that always happens to me when i see someplace i've been on film. there's a sense of recognizing it and not recognizing it all at the same time.

ergoproxy said...

Sorry that you didn't see anything interesting *coughHughJackmancough* out there, Ergo. I suspect you might've seen more if you'd been, uh, deeper in, as it were.

O_o

Goodnight TJ, have a grand day shopping!

Anonymous said...

J, yes! It's hot, and I live in an area where there's a lot of animals, so unfortunately, I've been also dealing with bugs most of the day. We get lots of spiders and such.

Thanks goodness for central air because I don't sleep well in warm weather.

I'm so happy to hear Logan is doing much better!

Hi ergo, goodnight tj sweet dreams

that kid was adorable in the movie. :)

ergoproxy said...

Maybe I should have ventured further in!

Original Punk J said...

Oooh, being sweaty and around bugs, nothing worse in my book. This sounds stupid, but sweating makes me angry. I hate it. I always feel like I'm melting, and the more I melt the worse I look, and feel. :P

Air conditioning is possibly one of the world's greatest inventions.

Thanks about Logan! How are your babies? How's your bite doing?

Original Punk J said...

The deeper parts are the best ones, Ergo! :D

Anonymous said...

J, yeah, sometimes even sweating makes me feel annoyed because you clothes tend to stick to your body, not to mention the smell that comes from it.

The fur babies are doing okay, Bugsy tends to get a little crazy though, especially now since it's been hot lately, thanks for asking.

As for the bite, my foot is doing pretty well now, except that I did some rough boxing the other day so now my arms and my back hurt. I already got scars on my knuckles to show for it :)

How's you and L doing? How's the packing coming along?

toujours said...

mayo,

so last night was midsummer's eve, the shortest night of the year, the start of one of my holidays.

did i do anything for it?

nooooo.

i totally forgot it even existed. *facepalm*

must have been distracted -- after all, it's not like i've been celebrating that holiday for 20+ years or anything. (yes, i'm blaming it on you. *grin*)

but there was a moment tonight when i felt it, got the whole mood and sense of the holiday in a rush.

the sun was setting, but still above the horizon, and the heat was still in the air. i was going out to get my laundry in off the line, and the minute i stepped out onto the grass barefoot, midsummer magic rose up all around me.

the sun and heat had brought out the scent of the yard, as if it was freshly mown. it perfumed the air, and the sun was bright and hot on my face as i walked toward the clothesline. the turf under my bare feet, slightly cool, the scent in the air, the sun blinding me to everything but its light -- everything that was summer pressed close to me. it was so tangible i felt like i could scoop it up out of the air in front of me and eat it like fruit off a tree.

and then i was coming back inside, my arms filled with clothing. the moment was done, but it had been as heady as the finest mead.

i hope your midsummer day was one you'll never forget, mayo, a day of magic and memory to lighten your heart like the sun itself.

good night, my friend. sweet dreams.

ergoproxy said...

oh meant to say we had the shortest day of the year here, I thought of TJ :]

BC sweating is awful but bugs are worse

one thing I like about colder weather here is the lack of mozzies and flies

Original Punk J said...

Well, since the apt manager hasn't told us whether they'll pay for a mover, I haven't been packing too much more. I gotta call her tomorrow or Tuesday to find out what's happening. My thought is, it's because of their apt that we're having to move, so they SHOULD pay for an actual mover.

L and I are doing pretty well, all things considered. She still tires easily, but not so much as, say, a month ago.

Bugsy's still a puppy, he doesn't know how to be calm! :D Do he and Chocolate get along?

Anonymous said...

They are are ergo. One good thing about the cold weather is the lack of bumble bees and mosquitos. I miss it a bit, lol.

Anonymous said...

Well J, I hope the manager will pay for the mover then. I'm glad you guys are doing alright.

Bugsy does get along with Chocolate, but I think he's really jealous.

ergoproxy said...

I think they should pay for your move too, it seems fair seeing as they really allowed the problem, unless they are suing for costs or something and need to wait and it'd be included in that.
It's not like you ahve any choice

Anon616 said...

*changed her mind ~ is not going anywhere ~ for tonight*

:P

J: Thanks for reminding me to include DG and Anima in that group hug! Miranth also.

I know there are more, too. All are included.

*another group hug*

Sweetcheeks: Ever wonder where Philip Anselmo got his start? Well, here it is:

~Okay, so Philip isn't in this video. This IS where he started. RAZOR WHITE!!! Mr. Troy Marks took over for Philip when he joined Pantera~

Aren't they wonderful???!!!

Bre: If you are lurking, that's "Psycho Steve", Ashley's uncle (and co~owner of The House Of Shock) behind those mega drums!!!!

*waves to Troy, Steve, Matt... and the rest*

Original Punk J said...

See, the manager wants the two maintenance guys to move us. No, no, no. Not that they couldn't or that we wouldn't want them to. But they're not pro movers with licensing and bonding and insurance. And they'd have to answer all the maintenance calls that day--more like week--so it would take forever.

No, there's no lawsuit on their part. These apts were built 20+ years ago; they're just old.

But not dumpy.

BC, I bet Bugsy does get jealous of Chocolate! She's been there longer than he has, and she's older, and he probably thinks she gets more attention. Poor baby. :(

Original Punk J said...

Wendy! You're back! You sneaky thing, you.

ergoproxy said...

well you def want some insurance in place, you never know what could get damaged

Original Punk J said...

Dear SS,

If you've made it this far, then you've seen that Logan is recovering nicely, so I thought some loud, rockin' music would be the best way to celebrate.

This man was a Guitar Hero way before the game came out:

Stevie Ray Vaughn "Love Struck Baby"

and "Rude Mood". Watch those fingers fly, man.

*Sorry, Ray Toro, but THOSE...were mad finger skillz!*

Goodnight, baby. I love you.

My heart to yours, always.

It's on Youtube sugarplum. It's a live performance from '95 I think when they were performing f*cking hostile and they had Kerry be a guest guitarist.

There's this one home video posted there back in the 80's when the band were introducing themselves. I swear Rex Brown sounded a lot like Steve-O, lol.

Mayo

I’m finding this hard to write but I think it’s something I have to do. Believe me this is something need to do for me. See I was okay until I sat down to write this goodnight and then..well and then it hit me. And right now I’m not sure how to put into words what I’m feeling. I guess the best way is just to start and I know this will ramble and for that I’m sorry.

Today as you know was Father’s Day. And I didn’t think about my dad one fuckin’ time. Not one thought and I hate myself for that. Why when I saw people mention it here or when I talked about going to Flighty’s apartment so she could make her dad dinner, didn’t I think about him? But I truly didn’t. I didn’t say anything to my mom about how daddy used to take me fishing, how he always checked the oil in my car (even after I was married) or how he always made me feel safe and loved. I didn’t think about him once. So now as I sit here I wonder why. I guess the answer is painfully obvious. I know if I had thought about him and how much I loved him I would have cried like I’m doing now. And I didn’t want to do that. But somehow that seems selfish. I didn’t want to upset myself so I didn’t honor his memory. What kind of bullshit is that?

So the day is over. Another Father’s Day gone by without him. I know in my heart that if he was here he’d tell me to stop being silly. He’d say “I know you love me.” Yeah, he would because he knows. But I have to say it anyway. I love you Daddy.

Sorry. I bet sometimes you wish I’d just buy a fuckin’ diary.

Night Mayo

Kapunua, Mya takes back her apology to you, for getting you fired. She wishes she never apologized in the first place. It was your fault and she is back to hating you.

10:55, I don't see how that's relevent, but if you want an answer, here it is:

That's perfectly fine. I still forgive her anyway. Not only forgive her, but still thank her for being the catalyst for something I had wanted for such a long time and was too chicken to do myself. Change frightens me, even when I know I need it.

I actually have nightmares about having to go back to that place. When I wake up, it's with such immense relief that I'm happy for the rest of the day.

She can retract her apology, but my forgiveness still stands. She hate me all she wants. But how could I hate my liberator?

Thank you so much for the sweet words and wishes for my bunny Logan. He has continued to make amazing progress, and is only limping now, with more weakness in his right front paw than the back paw. The vet believes his fever may have gone up, or the infection got worse, causing him to have a seizure. Which would be better than a stroke, because he can recover from the seizure! He has a vet appt. tomorrow to get checked out.

He is fighting so hard to get better and I'm so proud of him. My little Logan Butter, as I call him. (He's a Neatherland Dwarf, and only weighs 3 pounds).

Hope everyone is having a good day, and I'll be back on later.

Love you guys!
L.

Hi everyone, how are you all?

MissT!
WTH is going on with F1?!?!?!Is it really going to happen?!
.

I don't know PP but it's so exciting right now isn't it?

L, I'm so glad that Logan is feeling a little better.

Well, weather is not too bad. I think the computer problems of the other night are ironed out, so I hope to catch you guys later.

MissTottenham said...

I just wanted to add my condolences to everyone who has lost a father in recent times. yesterday must have been hard for you, I know and my thoughts go out to you.

I deal with fathers day by not acknowledging it's existence. I've been like that since the first year and it gets me through.

Original Punk L said...

Hey Miss T! Thanks for the well wishes for Logan.

I wanted to say I'm also very sorry to anyone who had to spend Father's Day without they Dad. (Elena, what you wrote earlier was beautiful, but heartbreaking). I was shopping for cards with J. last week and when I found one I liked I let her read it, and I could see the sadness in her eyes as she read the words. She lost her Dad 21 years ago, and she still misses him so much. I feel very fortunate to have mine here with me, and hope that I never take that for granted.

Love,
L.

MissTottenham said...

Hiya L sweetie. Apart from Logan's illness I hope you enjoyed your break at your parents.

ergoproxy said...

good morning!

great news on Logan L

hi missT, glad the computer issues are gone

MissTottenham said...

Hiya Ergo, how are you today?

How's the weather round your way?

ergoproxy said...

at the moment very foggy
but looks like it'll be a clear day, they were predicting light showers but doesn't look like we'll have any

we have this political scandal at the moment, about an email that the opposition leader (apparently with no knowledge of it's fakeness) used to accuse the prime minister on friday, of misleading parliament about his part in trying to secure preferential treatment for a friend.
there was much denial of course, and calling for his resignation, then yesterday it was shown the email was fake and created by someone in the treasury department.
Honestly it's like a soap opera, and getting more and more complicated every day!!

MissTottenham said...

I've read a bit about that Ergo. It's crazy, did they honestly think they'd get away with a fake email?

ergoproxy said...

thing is it seems no one knows who actually faked it. the opposition leader really should ahve checked a bit more first, he even said Friday that he hadn't seen it
but who faked it and why is still the big question, as well as who actually DID know of it
be interesting to see what's out by tonight

plus there has just been a big train crash in Washington DC, they say one dead, hope it's no more. How can that happen still with all the safeguards, and computer systems they have these days

I'm going into town today, you doing anything this week? Healed up ok now?

MissTottenham said...

You enjoy yourself in town sweetie.

I hadn't heard of that train crash. It's like you say, why is this still happening with the safeguards supposed to be in place.

I'm just gonna be taking trips to the gym this week. The evil treadmill is broke, now that's a shame.

And no, after almost 7 and a half weeks, I'm still not healed. I still have a quite big wound on my leg. It's getting there, I have the dressings off a lot and can go in the bath again, I'm not having to keep it dry. It's been itching like a bastard this past week though, it's killing me having to scratch round it hahahaha!

Catch you later Ergo.

ergoproxy said...

well at least itching means healing, my cat one took ages too
and the evil treadmill deserves all the breaking it gets!! lol

train crash only just happened too, it was breaking news

thanks and I'll see you next time, have a good night and Tuesday

MissTottenham said...

These bloody wounds eh? I'm glad to hear yours did heal, it gives me hope.

You have fun in town. I'll see you next time too.

Nighty night Ergo and nighty night blog.

Okay, also a quick note.

L, I'm glad to hear that Logan had a seizure and not a stroke. Especially if the recovery time is much better. I know he'll be good soon, Lord knows he's got a good Momma!

Ergo, a train wreck? I hope it wasn't anything bad, like a train full of cotton, feathers and quilting fluff collided with a train that was hauling water or something. It's never the case, but one can hope. :/

MissT, I've always been a big fan of Tea Tree oil for wounds, I find it dries up the scab very quickly, and it's a natural astringent, so it'll keep any infection from setting in. I'm having Deja Vu, did I mention this to you before? Augh, these early mornings are going to kill me, I swear.

Mya, Enjoy yourself on your trip. I'm considering a vacation myself to British Columbia next week if I can get the time off. If not, I think I'm going to have to plan it for sometime later in the summer, when Mister has more time off. Lucky bugger, he gets 3 1/2 weeks this year. :B

Teej, Elena, BC, Wendy, Emily, Friends, Anons, Mayo, SS, anyone else who happens to pop by tonight that I'm going to miss, have a good evening!

Hi everyone. :) Mayo so nice to see a new post. How have you been? Hoping for more good than bad (or at least all the good things kicked the shit out of the crappy stuff). That's how I base my day anyway.

Yesterday was strange, but good. The weekend in general was a bit fucked, but that's another story.

Sorry I'm late, but I wanted to tell all you here who are without their dads - I thought of you yesterday, thinking about you today and more. I wanted to stop by last night, but I just couldn't. Elena...*hugs* I loved your post. *Hugs* all around. Nothing like being a daughter...our fathers mean more to us than they will ever understand.

So Happy (belated) Father's Day! to all those dads (shout out to the hubbies of the Lovelies) out there and doggie daddies too. Seriously! I actually wished my husband a "Happy Father's Day" when we awoke on Sunday. One year I gave my dad a card from his 'grandpup' and tried to get my dog to bring it to him. Didn't work, but it was funny.

I digress...

Gotta a shit ton of work to do, but at least I'm at home - Need to take advantage of the quiet time. :) Better get back to it.

Take care you guys.

Hi Amy you probably seen the news by now, but it was 2 commuter trains. Hopefully the toll is only going to be small

we had a double trailer semi truck hit a motel in the next town up, I saw the motel today, amazingly no one was hurt, the driver had a minor heart attack but he's ok, crossed onto the wrong side of a 4 lane road, missed other cars, hit the wall, the place caught fire as he hit gas bottles, but everyone was fine, so amazingly lucky!!

Anima fantastic to see you, glad you're doing well, hope we get a chance to talk to you again soon

Ergo and TJ, so awesome to see you! Hi Amy, I just missed you while I was typing my comment earlier.

I'm still kinda here...and I was just texting back and forth with Elena. I am trying to work, I promise! But apparently I am failing...I have a pile of invoices and a bunch of other boring paperwork. But hey, I wouldn't trade this for what I've had before...so very grateful.

Hope to talk to all later. ♥

hello elena. :)

ergo, i had a great day shopping, too! i was trying to get a few things i'll need for my upcoming weekend trip: i found a couple of t-shirts, and a couple of nice new shirts (fancy!), but best of all was this neat leather bag -- on sale at a discount store, it looks a bit indiana-jones-off-for-adventure luggage-ish. it's my new overnight/carry-on bag. :)

Ergo, our accountant has failed us...still haven't heard from her regarding our year taxes. I think we are okay because our business took a 'loss'. Fuck I hope so, otherwise our crazy government will be coming for me! I'm giving her to the end of the week to give us some info, otherwise I have to figure it all out on my own. I have most everything, but not depreciation (I could do it, just don't want to)...and our build-out expenses since this is our first year...a bit confused regarding the laws and how to report it. She's been my accountant for about 8 years...maybe this is just too much. Not sure. But it does suck and makes me worry a ton.

I *spy* Elena! Hiya.

TJ, I'm here! *hugs*

ergoproxy said...

oh that makes it scary anima, there are so many things to understand, it's just easy when an accountant does it all
we have to pay tax, but that was expected so I had it planned in this year. Last year we didn't as we had heaps of depreciation and such. I just get amazed when out guy makes it all seem so simple - for HIM! lol
Give her a chance but maybe you'll need to look for a specialist business accountant, we changed ours from another guy when we started.

mayo,

i had such a good day, out & about even though the weather was not really made for it (at one point, apparently, my sister's car's thermometer read 113 deg -- and it was parked in the shade!).

it wasn't really about the shopping, or all the coffee and bubble tea i treated myself to, it was simply having a day that was my own.

my folks live way out in the countryside -- 40 minutes away from town -- and so many times, my weekend activities are limited by who is willing to drive me around. before, in seattle, i would just step outside, and wander wherever i needed to go, as i felt like it. here, sometimes, i feel stuck.

so being under my own power today was a very pleasant thing, indeed, regardless the heat of the sun.

good night, mayo. sweet dreams.

Mayo

Today I went to Lawrence. I love that town. There is just something sorta magical about it to me. Maybe it reminds me of my first taste of freedom. Not that I did so well with that mind you. I went from a very small high school where you couldn’t sneeze without everyone suddenly discussing your cold to college where you were free to do whatever you wanted. Unfortunately I wanted to skip classes a lot. And I did. I’d get on the bus in the morning thinking I’d ride down to campus but somehow most days on the way there I would realized that if I stayed on the bus it would take me downtown. That was where I wanted to be. I’d spend my time in little shops talking to strangers (something we didn’t have in a small town) and I loved it. No, I was not a stellar student. But you know, I did learn a lot.

Anyway, today was damn hot. My car informed me it was 103 at one point. I think the car was exaggerating. However, it did feel like it was. Still I wandered the town, of course searched the bookstores for treasures, and just enjoyed the day. I even stopped and took a picture of the teepee for you. It’s just outside of town and if you look close you can see the water mark from the 1951 flood. It’s still hard for me to imagine water creeping that high. My grandpa was caught in that flood at work in KC and was stranded for days in the packing house where he worked. My mom says all she remembered was it seemed to rain everyday and she didn’t think it would ever stop.

Teepee

So was your day a good one? I hope so. Even if you didn’t take any photos I hope you took a few in your mind that you have stored away. Keep those memories safe and sound.

Oh and one more thing. I know I mentioned the book “20th Century Ghosts” by Joe Hill before. I know I said how much I love the book but here’s a secret. I still haven’t read the whole thing. It is a collection of short stories and I love them so much I only allow myself to read a few pages each day. That probably sounds weird but it’s kinda like having a box of chocolates you love so you promise yourself you won’t eat them all at once. Well this book is like that, I am savoring it. However the story I just finished is one I think you would really enjoy. It’s called “The Cape.” Read it, Mayo. I really think you will enjoy it.

Well take care. I’ll be at the casino tomorrow night but you know I’ll check in. Doing so makes me….I’d say happy but it’s more than that. And I know you understand.

Night Mayo

Elena

Mayo & SS
sorry I didn't goodnight last night, computer was busy and it got a bit late, then I had a baby girl with a sore throat, so we just went to bed. But everything is ok and another beautiful day dawns :]
Hope you're both well

notradamus anon, the show just kinda finished as they always do, they never have any conclusions. But apparently the sun will align with the centre of the universe in 2012, and that may or may not mean the end of the world, as his prophesies may or may not indicate that, they may indicate a big change or a divergence onto two paths of possibility, maybe. But to make it even more vague, one guy says it's all already happened and we are on one of the paths. Plus the masons hid all these hints in buildings they made about it, alchemists are all involved as well as the mason used their symbols and the Egyptians, Mayans etc all knew as well.
Such a shame all of them felt the need to hide this, I would think fairly important, information in carvings and cryptic quatrains, rather than actually warn anyone early enough to maybe do something.
Think I'll just wait and see really.

good morning everyone else

Dating in the 1960's

It was a hot Saturday evening in the summer of 1961, and Fred had a date with Peggy Sue.
He arrived at her house and rang the bell.
'Oh, come on in!' Peggy Sue's mother said as she welcomed Fred in.
'Have a seat in the living room. Would you like something to drink? Lemonade? Iced tea?'
'Iced tea, please,' Fred said.
Mom brought the iced tea.
'So, what are you and Peggy planning to do tonight?' she asked.
'Oh, probably catch a movie, and then maybe grab a bite to eat at the malt shop, maybe take a walk on the beach..'
'Peggy likes to screw, you know,' Mom informed him.
'Really?' Fred replied, his eyebrows rising.
'Oh yes,' the mother continued,
'When she goes out with her friends, that's all they do! Screw, again and again !!'
'Is that so?' asked Fred, incredulous.
'Yes,' said the mother. 'As a matter of fact, she'd screw all night if we let her!'
'Well, thanks for the tip!' Fred said as he began thinking about alternate plans for the evening..
A moment later, Peggy Sue came down the stairs looking pretty as a picture, wearing a pink blouse and a hooped skirt, and with her hair tied back in a bouncy ponytail.
She greeted Fred.
'Have fun, kids!' the mother said as they left.
Two hours later, a completely dishevelled Peggy Sue burst into the house and slammed the front door behind her.
'The Twist, Mom!' she angrily yelled to her mother in the kitchen. 'The f**king dance is called the Twist !!!'

First, Anima, it was so nice to see you in here. I hope you can hang out more often. Take care of yourself, ok?

Mya, have a safe trip!

Elena, I couldn't believe where the top watermark was on that teepee. Mother Nature will slap you around once in a while and let you know what she is capable off! It had to have been scary for all involved.

Ergo, I LOVED the joke. "Twist, screw, eh, it's all the same." "Uh, no Mum, it's really not!"

TJ, we'll get to be in charge of that store yet...:)

Amy, how are you?

Wendy Woo, how's it going?

Miss T., S.S., anons, lurkers, anyone I missed, hey, and hope you're having a great day.

I took Logan the bunny to the vet today to get him checked out. He's doing MUCH better. The doc thinks it WAS a siezure, and that it was brought on by the really bad URI. Logan has been walking more, holding his head up, and not so wobbly. He's getting a lot of strength back, though he had lost 7 ozs. The vet says he's using up a lot of energy to get better, but thinks he more than likely will recover completely.

So for now, he gets tons of treats and lots of love, and I'm amazed at how well he has bounced back.

I guess he is living up to his namesake. Wolverine healing powers!

Love ya,
L.
