Running Laps

I am reading Dry: A Memoir, by Augusten Burroughs. It is vibrant, raw, funny, and I can hardly put it down. And, aside from the fact that the subject matter may not be the most comfortable for me, what gets me most is that the guy "sounds" like me…or, at least "textual" me*. This frightens me on many levels, but primarily because I don't know how many people read me and think, "Hey, that sounds like me." and then run with it (I've come across a few). Nevertheless, I have never spoken to him in person; he could sound like my Mom for all I know. So anyway...the book has me thinking, and recalling some of my own more clumsy moments. I would like to share one, consider it a secret.

One of the first times I ever got drunk, and I mean really wasted drunk, I was at a party with a bunch of older kids. I was a bit nervous, and I didn’t really want to be there. Most of the kids knew each other. But, I was younger and only knew one other person. I was aware that at some point my friend would be drawn into the party, and I would have to either engage in conversation with strangers or stand by myself. Neither of these options appealed to me. But between the two, I chose awkward conversation over being pointed at or whispered about.

It wasn’t a large party, there were about fifteen people talking, laughing, and giving each other a hard time just for kicks. Everyone was drinking beer, but I thought I would toughen my appearance by hitting the hard stuff. So, I got real friendly with a bottle of 100 proof peppermint schnapps that one guy swiped, of course, from his parent’s liquor cabinet. Shit felt like motor oil and tasted like the North Pole, so it went down pretty fast.

Time and the absence of much, if any, clarity has left me with dim memories of this event, but I can tell you this much; I drank most of that bottle rather quick while making the party rounds proudly showing off my drinking prowess. For a short time I performed without a net, rambling on in conversations I had no business in, but charmed my way through elegantly, getting laughs along the way. This went along smashingly for the first hour or so, but soon my head swam in sludge. And, I am fairly certain I became party entertainment, at first intentionally, then later without my knowledge.

I felt good, but soon realized that my brain had to make several requests before my arm would know to bring my cigarette to my mouth. At first, I found this funny. My out sync laughter caused my fellow delinquents to question me, “What…what’s so funny?”

“I cand fuckinsmoke.”

And, I can recall recognizing the fact that I wasn’t able to connect thoughts any longer. My mind drifted as my brain dissolved into boozy bath water. This did not help me conversationally. And when I was unable to make sense, I knew I had to get away from the party, the noise, and the people. I wanted to escape, but I didn’t want anyone to know.

The party was located, as any good high school party would be, in the basement which was split in two equal sides. I was presently located in the side furnished to entertain with sofas, chairs, and a pool table. The other side was a laundry room dark and empty, strictly utility. I knew that side would bring me solace.

I had a mission: to get there without anyone noticing.

By this time, ironically, I was sitting alone on a chair by the pool table. I managed to stand up, cross the room, and enter the darkness without attention. It took longer than normal for my eyes to adjust, and I remember seeing a sink at the far end of the room and thought I could sit underneath it. I had to get there fast, but the floor held my feet. I recall as I moved toward the basin, and just before I helplessly fell to the cement floor, my arms useless at my sides, that I acknowledged the physical and psychological falling feeling, the descent, as something I would find familiar. “Yeah, I like this.”

It went downhill from there. I think the impact broke my face, I was covered in vomit, and I had certainly lost any acquired ground on the toughness front. And, I never made it home that night.

Abuse.

I hadn’t yet discovered alcohol could be, for me, a tool useful in overcoming social anxiety. At that point it was all about being cool or "checking out" for a spell, later it became a crutch. For me, that required a bit of skill delivered through practice. In time, I learned how to reign in my greedy gut. The art was in just reaching oblivion and then maintaining, keeping my inhibitions restrained while carrying on all night without letting anyone know I was a blundering idiot. Usually, I was successful, but sometimes…not so much. And I would find myself wandering off so that I could be alone and descend without interruption.

And, sometimes I would black out.

It is slippery, I know. And, at any given moment as sure as I write this it can all fall away. I imagine it would go something like this…

So here's the thing...I love being drunk. I always have, and more so now than even before. Perhaps, it is because I don't recall ever being drunk in this way. It hits fast and hard, but it doesn't last long. Maybe that’s because I am not flooding myself for hours on end as I did in the past. And I don't fall over, or at least I haven't yet. But, I'll tell ya...it taps me on the shoulder about the same time each day.

“Remember me?”

“...I’ll take care of you and soon everything won’t seem so overwhelming, looming.”

Mostly, I ignore the call. But I miss that old feeling, and lately I think, “You’re right.”

What follows is more than a tap, it’s direct and in my face, “I know I’m right. And while you are weaving it will all make sense and they won’t care because they expect it, anyway.”

It is still a rare moment that I find myself descending. That old familiar feeling can catch me off guard in a conversation, in a book, or in a memory.

Then, I tell it "Fuck you!" and I kick its ass.

p.s. here's to a fighter's homecoming.

*By making this statement I am in no way saying that my writing ability is even close to that of Mr. Burroughs. I am fairly certain he can spell occasional correctly, every time.

It's not that anon. It's like nowadays you have to kinda censor yourself with what you have to say or post here because words tend to get twisted around, and then when that happens, anons start coming in and complain, etc etc.

I assumed that shit would have start flying here again after when you posted that comment, is all. That was what annoyed me.

If I was mean to you, I didn't mean to. Sorry.

mayo,

i remembered what i was going to tell you yesterday.

about an hour before closing yesterday, the big name quilter's fan club arrived at the shop for their meet & greet upstairs. about 30 women, all of them wearing some shade of purple, and all chattering and giggling and enjoying themselves. it was cute. *grin*

the thing that was interesting is that they mostly only knew each other online. two of the ladies were greeting each other at the table where i was cutting fabric, and it was amusing to listen to them identify each other by their screen names, and then fall into what were clearly old topics of conversation between them.

actually, it reminded me of my experiences meeting other lovelies, although without all the patchwork vests and quilted bags...

and then the two women lowered their voices and began discussing some of the recent troubles on their site. the one woman was hardly around, because there was someone else she didn't get along with.

it was all eerily familiar, actually.

maybe our problems here aren't so much a condition of this blog in particular, but rather a side effect of the internet at large.

since i started using the internet, i've always thought of it as a vehicle for the gods to use to reshuffle us, and in my experience it is mostly for the benefit of all. but the internet also fosters in some a certain lack of personal responsibility.

it was interesting to see the similarities, and to consider that there are thousands of thousands of little worlds all across the web, each with their own rules, each with their own version of blogbelieve.

ours is the coolest, though.

i mean, duh.

*grin*

good night, mayo. be extra patient and friendly with any shop clerks you might come in contact with tomorrow, ok?

Anon616 said...

Wait? Our feets are supposed to be the length of our forearms?

Wouldn't we all be wearing clown shoes if they were?

Anon616 said...

Sweetcheeks: Missing persons posters are completely unnecessary ~ for now!

Keep them handy though. JAZZ Fest starts next weekend!
:D

My fur babies and I are well, thanks for asking. I'm in a lot less pain now!

Ergo: Did you get any pictures of the new fur babies yet?

Dang it. I missed Mya and TJ!

Goodnight Mya and TJ! Sweet dreams!

Hi, Wendy! I miss you so much! How are you? How is your Mom?

mya said...

Watched The Graduate tonight, so....

Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
'Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dare
Disturb the sound of silence.

"Fools" said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach to you."
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning,
in the words that it was forming.
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets

are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls."
And whisper'd in the sounds of silence.

Anon616 said...

Sweetcheeks: I haven't; but, I did read your comment. Is it good? Who "stars" in it? Do they use "shots" of Oak Alley Planation? Most of those Louisiana shows do! WE do have other planations they could use. Somebody should tell those Hollywood that!
;)

mya said...

I also watched Bobby last night and that song was in it too...

Made me really start thinking....

Anon616 said...

Mya!!!! I'm so glad I "caught" you! I miss you too. You wanna come down for JAZZ FEST?!

*big smile*

Mom is doing okay. She DID start smoking again. Just as I knew she would... I'm thinking of making an appointment for her to get that laser treatment. I hear it works for people!

I'll e~mail you before sunrise, I promise!

How have you been? How's your grandmother?

Anonymous said...

Hi again mya ^_^

Sugarplum, so far it's looking to be really promising. At least that's what I think. It only premiered last year, and it shows only on HBO. As for the cast Anna Paquin(From the X-men movies) Stephen Moyer, and some relatively unknown actors are featured in it.
It's based on the Sookie Stackhouse vampire novels by Charlaine Harris.

I just got done watching the season finale earlier today, and I must say I'm getting pretty hooked.
Not to mention a couple of the actors on the show are lust-bunny worthy. It revolves around vampires and such, but it's interesting because you see a lot of segregation, racism, and prejudice because of the vampires in the show are now blending in with the humans as regular citizens now.

mya said...

My Grandmother is still in the skilled care facility. She is getting more and more confused every day. I know it is because of the atmosphere. She is not stimulated there.

mya said...

Since you were talking earlier of fur babies - we think my oldest cat has cancer.

mya said...

BC, I've seen True Blood a few times. My daughter loves it!

Anonymous said...

That sucks mya. I hope for your cat it's not cancer :/

Anon616 said...

Sweetcheeks: It sounds interesting. I think I'm going to have to check that show out! Can you believe I've missed every episode of LOST this season? That's my favorite show!

Well, it's too late to start watching now. I'll just have to wait until they start the reruns of the entire season.
:(

Mya: I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you think she'll be able to leave the skilled care facility or have they decided that's a definite no?

mya said...

He used to weigh in at around 15 lbs. He is now at 7 lbs.
The vet did all the blood tests and checked his thyroid. When all those came back ok, she said it was probably a tumor.

ergoproxy said...

oh that sad Mya, lack of stimulation is terrible in the elderly, the brain needs work to do

and your poor cat, hope it isn't cancer

Anon616 said...

mya said...
Since you were talking earlier of fur babies - we think my oldest cat has cancer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh no. When did the kitty start having problems?
:(
mya said...
Wendy, the "assisted living" area did an evaluation on her and decided that in order for her to come back to her "apartment" she would require 24 hour sitters. Sitters normally get $10 an hour, so that is $240 a day. She pays the "assisted living" place about $3000 a month.
The cat has been losing weight over the past 2 years, I'd say. Although he eats all the time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good grief!!!! That's outrageous! She pays them $3000 a month, couldn't they send someone to check on her once an hour or so?

Anon616 said...

Well, at least the kitty doesn't seem to be suffering.

How's your precious baby pup doing?

Sweetcheeks: How's your new puppy? Is he still eating your pajamas and shoes?

mya said...

My Grandmother has always been so alert, so this recent confusion has me really upset.
When I go see her, she may act a little confused for a few minutes. But once we get started talking, she gets back on track.
Most of the other "residents" at this place are barely...

Sorry... I just can't discuss this right now...

ergoproxy said...

thata ok mya
she doesn't like a craft or crosswords or puzzles?
You don't need to answer, just a thought, you can get games for those nintendo DS things designed for adults and elderly to keep their brains active

mya said...

Yes, she pays a lot for "assisted living" and from what I can tell, "assisted living" means: breakfast, lunch, dinner, vacuuming the apartment, and laundry.

Hell!

I told my Mother that they could rent an apartment and I would go do all that for MUCH less than that! PLUS, I would TAKE CARE OF HER!

Anonymous said...

Wendy, yeah my new pup is still chewing on my pjs and slippers now more than ever, lol.

Although he's been a bit of a crybaby today.

Reason and Passion XV

And the priestess spoke again and said: "Speak to us of Reason and Passion."

And he answered saying:

Your soul is oftentimes a battlefield, upon which your reason and your judgment wage war against passion and your appetite.

Would that I could be the peacemaker in your soul, that I might turn the discord and the rivalry of your elements into oneness and melody.

But how shall I, unless you yourselves be also the peacemakers, nay, the lovers of all your elements?

Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul.

If either your sails or our rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas.

For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction.

Therefore let your soul exalt your reason to the height of passion; that it may sing;

And let it direct your passion with reason, that your passion may live through its own daily resurrection, and like the phoenix rise above its own ashes.

I would have you consider your judgment and your appetite even as you would two loved guests in your house.

Surely you would not honour one guest above the other; for he who is more mindful of one loses the love and the faith of both.

Among the hills, when you sit in the cool shade of the white poplars, sharing the peace and serenity of distant fields and meadows - then let your heart say in silence, "God rests in reason."

And when the storm comes, and the mighty wind shakes the forest, and thunder and lightning proclaim the majesty of the sky, - then let your heart say in awe, "God moves in passion."

And since you are a breath In God's sphere, and a leaf in God's forest, you too should rest in reason and move in passion.
"

LOVE Anons - You made me laugh with your love banter and fond memories of exploding cock!

:D I am laughing even thinking about it!

Will check back. Trying to cook and email/text my guy friends too. They are already working!

Damn, that is dedication!

:)

Hey BC!

How are you doing? Anything new with school?

I think I read you got a PUPPY!!!

Is this true? :)

elena said...

Well the hubby brought me hot chips and now he's passed out. But not before we had a nice chat. It's funny but as long as we've been married we still can have long, interesting chats. I tell him things I've kept secret and he tell me stuff he's kept a secret too. Marriage is such a long and wild trip indeed.

Well think I'll pass out now too. Take care my friends remember life is full of unexpected moments. Just wait for them.

Love ya all

Elena

miranth said...

Thanks elena, I will keep the advice in mind :)

I am glad you can still have good conversation with your husband. Its very important in long term relationships.

Have a good night!

Anonymous said...

Hi there miranth, how are you doing?
Yep, you heard right, I got a puppy. A black pug name Bugsy. He's just a little baby.

School is doing okay. Finals is next week already, so after that it's early summer vacation for me.

miranth said...

Awww, BC - Your little fur baby sounds so cute :) *Squees* Will you be able to put up any pics?

That's good, you will get a break soon. Don't procrastinate when its time to study! I used to do that all the time and now I have excellent short term recall, but my long term memory is awful. :( People don't think of studying as mental training, but it is.

I wish I knew that then!

Anonymous said...

Thanks miranth. I'll post a pic for you tomorrow at your blog, if that's okay :)

Well, I got one of my finals early because it's a take home test and there's 150 questions on it, so that makes it easier. I also got a course catalog for the summer and fall classes, so I'm already looking up to see which classes I want to take for fall. I'm kinda glad school is ending earlier because I might be leaving for new mexico in a few weeks, not sure though.

How have you been doing? How's your niece?

miranth said...

My niece is good right now. She has the part of Fagin (sp) in the school play Oliver Twist. She's very excited, of course. :) Its funny cause she's physically and personality-wise pretty much the opposite of Fagin, so it will test her acting skills. :)

Please post a pic! I always love the cuteness.

I hope you have fun if you go to NM! Its super hot and dry down there during the high summer months but hopefully it will be pretty comfortable for you this time of year,

I love take home finals. Relieves the stress. :) Also signing up for classes early is best, as nowawdays, a lot of students sign up early and its difficult to get into the class you want.

We never signed up early for anything as I recall!

Lately when I am taking classes I have to get a special form filled out and have it signed by the instructor.

Anonymous said...

I'm gonna have to call it a night. Goodnight miranth, sweet dreams.

Anonymous said...

That's good miranth. I hope your niece's play turns out to be a success. Best of good luck to her.

NM can be pretty hot, as I have visited there once, but I also want to make a trip down to San Francisco or Las Vegas, eventually.

Sorry to have to cut this short, but it's really late, and I need some sleep :p

Goodnight miranth

ergoproxy said...

godnight BC

hi miranth! can't really stay as I'm cooking dinner etc

glad to hear you're feeling better
and wishing your niece a great performance as Fagin, I bet she'll be great, it's a fabulous play

miranth said...

Sweet Dreams BC! I hope you get to visit one of the other cities. I have been to Vegas a lot, but I kind of find it boring. Its so commercial. I actually prefer Detroit. San Francisco sounds awesome, though! The views from the hills, trolley rides, the cultural and historical aspects of the city would be fascinating.

Thanks ergo! I will pass on the good wishes. I brought the laptop to the kitchen to interact while cooking, but its kinda difficult! I can testify.

I have to shower anyway and finish up some chores so I will go too.

Good Day/Night Everyone!

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

Hey B.C., MIRANTH and ERGO! 'Sup?
;p

I didn't expect anybody to be round this late... you naughty girls! I didn't aplogize in my little drop and run comment, for ya know, dropping and running. It's all I can manage of late. Have a new found problem at home, so time has been an interesting balance of 'to panic,' 'to attempt to think of something' and 'to zone intensely while freaking the shit out.' It's been fun. ;p

Anyway, I just wanted to say, I didn't forget that I owe people words here. I will try to stop by blogs and say hello, as soon as I can. I did not forget you guys! B.C., I seem to miss you every time I come in, it's not on purpose! I promise (please don't develop a complex, as I would!) ;p Good luck loves with the finals and class picking. That happens to be a favorite passtime of mine -running through all the knowledge you can posess. Such an awesome thing B.C. Please let us know what more you are thinking of taking! Kiss to Bugsy, hims so cute!! ;p

And Elena -please make it home with the hub in once piece eh? (Hopefully tomorrow!) You crazy! Ergo, I just wanted to know if you could give me any info on NSW? I can't remember where you are? It's all very insane, but I would just like to hear a little bit from an unbiased source (aka:my lil sis!) ;p Ya know what I mean?! I hope the job is going well? And good luck with the little fuzzies you picked up! I am sure we would all love some pics! OH! And those shoes were hott mama! Where you goin in those smokin fire Ergo dear!? ;p

Miranth, I hope everything with your family is going a little better. It takes time to adjust, and well, it never does seem to get much easier. But I know you are strong, and I know if anyone is capable of caring for -or even just helping out with, an elder, it is certainly someone like you. But I do hope home life is settling and getting better loves.

And G'nite, I think your poem tonight has to be one I understand more than any I have read. Thank you for posting that. If you are the one that posted the poem from earlier today though, that one got to me. Soft flesh of peaches rotting and impatience? Wow. I think the last line made up for it, though.. But the words are nicer than some, and are deffinately needed, especially here. So thank you, to anyone who ventures that way, for contributing to the better of the blog. Especially your poem tonight, G'Nite. Really, intense and hard to explain. Thank you for that. (I bought a book by that fella some time ago, never picked it up. You gave me good reason.)

It takes me five years to type here, and certainly when I am half aspleep, so I have probably missed you girls, but this is a (slowly typed!) drop and run again. I am sorry! But I as I said, I am thinking of you guys. I want to say more to a whole slue of ya crazzies, but I have to move my ass here! I will try to pop by blogs and say hello when I can. I do hope everyone is doing well, life is insane. But what would be the point if it was predictable and the same everyday, right? Love to you guys, be well <333

-Shit, this is long isn't it? Meh, excuse me! ;p Later guys<33

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

Jesus, that was long. Yikes.

I forgot to ask, have we heard from Bellatrix yet? I hope everything is alright with her, her family. I can't imagine what it would be like to rifle through such destruction and chaos. I think I should be grateful for that. But I hope we hear from her soon. Fingers crossed. -Love to you guys <33

ergoproxy said...

lewis what do you need to know about NSW?
I am in Queensland the state to the north of NSW, so we are hotter and more tropical but I have travelled there and probably know most stuff about it (as Aust states are all pretty much the same as all our laws, economy and all that stuff etc are pretty much national really, states here don't vary as much as the US ones do)
If you are sending me an email just let me know what you need and if I don't know, I will know where to find out

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

Ergo -just in case, I sent you a mail!

And shit, I sound a little cynical about life being predictable yea? I feel the need to add, if you are one of the lucky ones and can share your life with someone so special to you, then fuck it -Predictable and the same -is just Heaven!

I just wanted to make that clear! What a day. ;p And thanks Ergo! I'm sure I will have to explain myself better to you, please don't hesitate to ask me WTF Lew!? Really! Loves to you guys<33

Hiya mayo, SS, everyone.

It was great to see Solly, Smoke, Sis M, PJ, GS and Mya here again.

Ergo, so sorry about your guinea pig. I hope your new ones learn the trick of talking to you for their food too.

Mya, so sorry to hear you grandmother is still ill. I am thinking of you sweetie. I hope she gets better.

Carrie, love you sweetie.

Happy news!!!!!!

My best friend has just had her second child. A little boy that she is naming Dominic after my cousin who we lost tragically young. She has even given him the same middle name Dominic James. How sweet is that? She's not my best friend for no reason.

Just wanted to share that.

Catch you all later xxxx

Parents, please be aware of what's happening in your children's lives. Don't assume that because they're being quiet in the garage, they're not building weapons. And I think that's the problem with a lot of parents today. They don't become involved enough in their children's lives, either because they're busy with work or just plain lazy. They let the TV do the parenting.

My best friend has just had her second child. A little boy that she is naming Dominic after my cousin who we lost tragically young. She has even given him the same middle name Dominic James. It's hard to believe it is 10 years since Columbine. It was such a tragic incident, and now there are even more similar ones. So many young lives cut tragically short, and the teachers who's life is helping the young, Plus we must remember the ones who survived and the scars they hold also. Anything that can be done to prevent people feeling this is the course of action they must take is so vitally important.

and Steven Hawking is ill in hospital too. Will be a shame when the world loses a man of his brilliance

lol ergo, i did! actually it wasn't too bad, and i was just on the cash registers out front anyway. it's really bad when i have three or four things i'm supposed to be doing...i'm not a multi-tasker!

but i told my boss about what you wrote...jurassic park...and she just laughed. she thought that was great!

ergoproxy said...

glad she like d it, and glad it wasn't too hectic, usually a lot easier to have one person on register ad others cutting when it's busy, rather than all trying to do everything

yeah, that's for sure. but i'm not off the hook yet! the actual show doesn't start until the 22nd, so all of this business is just a forerunner.

geez, i just made a quilting joke. a setting is the arrangement of blocks on a quilt top.

Lullaby

Lay your sleeping head, my love,
Human on my faithless arm;
Time and fevers burn away
Individual beauty from
Thoughtful children, and the grave
Proves the child ephemeral:
But in my arms till break of day
Let the living creature lie,
Mortal, guilty, but to me
The entirely beautiful.

Soul and body have no bounds:
To lovers as they lie upon
Her tolerant enchanted slope
In their ordinary swoon,
Grave the vision Venus sends
Of supernatural sympathy,
Universal love and hope;
While an abstract insight wakes
Among the glaciers and the rocks
The hermit's carnal ecstasy.

Certainty, fidelity
On the stroke of midnight pass
Like vibrations of a bell
And fashionable madmen raise
Their pedantic boring cry:
Every farthing of the cost,
All the dreaded cards foretell,
Shall be paid, but from this night
Not a whisper, not a thought,
Not a kiss nor look be lost.

Beauty, midnight, vision dies:
Let the winds of dawn that blow
Softly round your dreaming head
Such a day of welcome show
Eye and knocking heart may bless,
Find our mortal world enough;
Noons of dryness find you fed
By the involuntary powers,
Nights of insult let you pass
Watched by every human love.

On my way to bed but you know what? Just couldn't let this one go.... Hey anon, (wait I'm gonna edit myself here)

oh and the horse you rode in on.

I'm really sure Mayo doesn't come around here as much because of people like you. So, put that in your pipe and smoke it.

lewishasfallensloppydead said...

ahahaha. I fucking knew you were a Jedi Elena.

I KNEW IT.

YOU SLAY! (rawr!)

I just wanted to prance around with that for a moment here. ;D

Even if it doesn't seem possible, every blue or gray that has been here, wishes things were better, between everyone. And I do mean Everyone.

And Mayo, where the fuck are you? Seriously. I am sure a lot of people (whether they voice it or not) would like some reassurance that you are still among the living. But this is so you, isn't it. Alrighty then. Hope you are still, alive.

Anyway, hope everyone is good. Hope everyone is happy. Hope nobody else has just been made somebody's bitch. (and deserved it, 3:15. Your only aim is to start shit. Which only makes things worse between people, here. How thoughtful of you.)
:)

Thanks to Ergo. I will mail you back shortly loves. Hope everyone is well, even the crabby shit starters. Love to you guys <33

Wow. And I feel guilty. I shouldn't. Because comments like 3:15 ARE only made to stir up shit. It completely hinders the regs here, Further, from communicating -with each other, without more animosity. It is so unnecessary. There is plenty of shit to work through without adding to it. And I am sure people, anon or otherwise, are completely aware of that.

Anyway, nighty night guys. Loves.

I heard this song tonight. I wanted everyone to hear it. EVERYONE.

It's just a nice idea, ya know? BlogBelieve.
---
I know that fan is moving air
I can see it in your hair
But I can't bear to breathe it in somehow
I'll rise and fall with you
Cause you can't fail me now,
I'll rise and fall with you
Cause you can't fail me now

Salt is sweet upon my mouth
And dark throws sparks against my house
The stain of love's a smudge upon my brow.
But you see through me
And you can't fail me now,
You see right through me
And you can't fail me now

I bit off more than I can chew
It's something that I tend to do
When fewer words are what we need and how
You bite my tongue
And you can't fail me now
I rant and rail
But you can't fail me now

I lost the thread among the vines
And hung myself in story lines
That tell the tales I never would allow
God knows the name of every bird
That fills my mind like angry words
But you know all my secret heart avows...

We're taught to love the worst of us
And mercy more than life, but trust me:
Mercy's just a warning shot across the bow
I live for yours
And you can't fail me now,
I live for your mercy
And you can't fail me now,
You can't fail me now.

"I'm really sure Mayo doesn't come around here as much because of people like you. So, put that in your pipe and smoke it."

You know what? There's always been 'people like me' here and that has never stopped Mayo hanging out before. Mayo's recent lack of interest in this blog coincides with the departure of the porchies.

You know it's true...you know it's true!

someone mentioned the chat that took place between love? anons.

i think they had the wrong impression.

it was just some lighthearted talk.

that's all.

Elena and others who miss Mayo. Didn't you notice him come in the other day to respond to Smoke? I guess not.

It was art talk.

Aren't they special? They get the enigma to themselves.

Seriously?

I wish I had an imaginary friend to dote on too. One that was just as special as Mayo. I won't need to know anything about mine either. I'll just obsess away.

What would you name your imaginary friend created to obsess over?

It's a secret! I'll tell you on a different blog for fun.
