You startled me
In not so much your words,
But your approach.
It was fast
And filled my head
With nonsense words
And warmth
When you weren’t there.
So, I went under
And swallowed
The surge. And above
My head is swirling water.
My hand slapping at the surface,
Desperate for structure
Steep stone. Then
My fingers finding rooted edge
Holding ground,
Finally. Almost out of breath
When I pulled myself up.
Entwined in mine, fingers
Not rooted mass, but flesh.
That took the shape
Of mysteries ability
To suddenly deliver me
Upon the edge was all
That I was meant to be.

How do you feel about crows, Mayo?

Anonymous said...

It's not about the crows anon. It's about the crows inability to share. Until they get into trouble themselves and learn about sharing, forgiveness and reaching out to help others.

Wonder if VV is going to blog about how sexist and offensive The Used members are? How the people there were wrong to laugh at his "cunt ages" joke and other people should have let him know how offensive to feminists it was. Strange how they're allowed to say it but members of MCR and other people they don't like can't use it.

It's the stench. The end.

or was it like a child being told about swimming, how exciting it is, how much fun and is then taken into water by a parent and in their excitement being so sure they are brave enough and experienced enough that they let go to launch into this new domain, only to find it is harder and scarier than they expected. In panic they flail about feeling like it is suddenly only them, alone against the suffocating water. Then feel their hand hit the body of the parent who knew better, and has been standing by them all along, watching and waiting to lift them up into their arms.

hey Mayo
thanks for the new post.

fucking lovely, is all i can say. obviously i'm not entirely sure what you are getting at cos you are Mayo, i am me, me no get you!! well sometimes i think i do, but who knows?!

hope you are doing good anyway Mayo?it's been pretty shitty here for a while now. clinging on by fingertips springs to mind.

hey Mayo, nothing to do with your post, but sparked a memory!

when i was 16 yrs old, after our exams, big exams, we got a post exam week of activities, paid for i think by the education commity. anyway ours was a week of water activities, cos i was living by the sea. so it is sailing, canoeing, rafting, swimming, various stuff. anyway on our canoeing day we were all out on the water and we had been shown how to escape from the cock pit (have no idea if it was called that) of the canoe if you go under, ie, turn under like an eskimo roll but maybe by accident. you pull your spray deck off and lean forward. and you should just come out. so anyway we were in the water in the harbour, pissing around. my best mate (who i still love to fuckin bits even after all these years) was sat on the back of my canoe, we were in depth but i was in the canoe. so it was unstable, i went completely under, rolled. and fuck me i could not get my spraydeck off i could not get out and i was fucking panicking! it seemed forever i was not turning back round, i was trapped and i wanted to breath.suddendly my friend grabbed my hand, pulled at me and got me the fuck out and up to the suface. i must have been under for 30 secs. it was so scary. i love her and at that point she did save my life. anyway just a menory there mr mayo man!!

SC so very lovely to see you here, and you are spot on about ergo.

i get so jealous at how she balances her home life, work life, and blog life so fanatastically, and i fail at it so hard!

i will blame time zones but it isn't always time zones!

meant to say a big hello to miranth &just bloody forgot! there ya go how fucking great am i?!

fuck me for some reason in this comment cs i am "overwriting" myself so every letter deletes another! oh how effing annoying. don't know how to correct that but no fuckin worries.

serious overwriting status here!! i apologise for any lack of punctuation or spacing OK?!

hope everyone is good?!

SS you too, i have not forgotten you!

"BEYOND PATHETIC" was what the porchis made this place.

Could it be possible that Mayo finally sees this?

If Mayo was truely "NOT A COWARD" he would speak out against them SIGNED IN instead of hinting with things like 'you know who I am'.

Mayo, why are you afraid of the porchies? They already did all the damage and left (most of them). What are you afraid it? Sign in and say it.

You should show some respect or at least some consideration for those who have remained here and have been pretty damn entertaining over the last few days, (deftly side stepping people bring up the same old shit) before describing their efforts as "pretty shitty".

I think you just killed them 6.45.
They were probably planning to run with the "it was Mayo taking the porchies side" for days. The "he was trashing Amy... etc" all night.

Some of us did realize that you were not Mayo. We did realize you were talking to him.

Thanks for coming back and clarifying.

No, it just annoyed me that the first anon was unable to comprehend to whom the comment was directed, and, as a result, jumped to completely the wrong conclusion by writing an antagonistic response.

Anonymous said...

You should show some respect or at least some consideration for those who have remained here and have been pretty damn entertaining over the last few days

But those people don't deserve respect wise anon with eyes open. Only certain people do. The people that have been here aren't entertaining at all. They're all dull, boring, dumb, can't make words and don't contribute a thing to this place. They never have.

You are not entitled to have an opinion either. You're a nameless nothing.

I know that's not what faraway said. But damn. It feels that way sometimes.

Anonymous said...

He was NOT 'trashing Amy" MOST of these veiled comments, in my opinion, have been taking Amy's side. I really think that Mayo agrees with her Fix, and her Guidelines. I also think that the post that everyone thinks was against her, was actually AGREEING with her.

Think about it. The others SAID that this blog was not that important to them. It must not be important because they are the ones who trashed it.

You want to talk antagonistic? Posting poetry just BECAUSE they knew Amy didn't want it here.

"Orange Little Bees", PROFIE.

I'm sure by now Mayo can see who ran his blog into the ground. They are truly beyond pathetic.

Why apologize just for telling the truth? All Amy did was that. She told the truth. There is no need for her to apoligize. it was her opinion of who ruined the blog.

I didn't see anyone apoligizing to her, extending an olive branch to HER, after they did all of the antagonistic things they did. The endless poetry after she asked it to stop. The endless quotes. The poem that is STILL up at the porch, mocking The Fix.

Were there apologies from those people?

of course not.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps FASC owes an apology as well.

Hi Blog Hi Mayo

Finally got home. Went to see Watchmen today and all I can say is “wow” I loved it. I saw it on an IMAX screen and it was so awesome and very loud. Just as it should be. Loved the guy who played Rorschack. He really fit the part. And you know it’s kinda nice in a way to go to a movie and see more guy uh…dangly parts and butts then women’s nudity. Seems kinda fair for a change. Oh and I loved all the little things that are in the movie that if you’re not watching closely you’ll miss. And man oh man was Desolation Row loud during the credits. It was perfect. Poor Fred sat there rolling her eyes but she did have to admit she really had a good time and loved the movie.

Great to see you post, Mayo. Loved your words but I’m still thinking on them.

Well gotta get some work done.

Hi Amy

Anonymous said...

AMy I have to say this.

I believe in you.

I believe that the can of whop ass you opened up on them was for the good of the blog.

I think that you were just saying your opinion. If you don't like them.... if you think they are pathetic, cunts, scum, whatever, you have a RIGHT to say that and NO ONE an take away your right to say that.

I see where you got angry at them but I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Your anger came from your care, caring about Mayo and his blog.

I know alot of feelings were hurt but I don't think you are to blame. Where is the olive branch extended to you? Where are the apologies for goading you on, with poetry and quotes when they knew you hated it? That is WHY they were doing it. We all know it's true.

And no apology in sight over those insults to YOU.

But... yet people still get on YOUR case for getting mad about the goading. The quotes. The poetry.

I believe that the things you said were because you cared. I think Mayo DOES see that even if he's not saying it, signed in sealed and delivered.

But even if he doesn't see it, the rest of us do.

Amyranth said...

Thanks Anon. :)

Hallo Elena! How's it going?

You are welcome Amyranth. I stand by what I said and what YOU said about THEM. You have the right to express your opinion. Just because they are "close friends" does not mean that they can't get called out by you.

Don't hold back either. Don't be ashamed. You are strong and you care deeply about this blog...!

I can't say that's how Amy feels about anyone. I can say Mayo feels she has the right to call whoever she wants whatever she wants. He apparently understands that maybe The integrity of his emotions and his true feelings could not be completely or properly expressed without such words and phrases.

He make a blog post about encouraging a friend to do just that. Kapunua agreed. Proof provided.

Have you been inspired?
A few weeks ago I was talking to a friend of mine who told me that he was feeling pressured to modify is behavior. In particular, his use of profanity was called into question. He went on to tell me that his superiors consider particular words and phrases to be offensive.

So, he was asked, and then ordered, to suppress his usage of the following words: fuck, motherfucker, cocksucker, cunt, prick, bastard, jackass, asshole, shit, damn, fuck-head, and ass-fuck, and phrases such as: shut the fuck up fuck-wit, fuck you, motherfucking ass licking jerk off, ass wipe fuck puppet, shit for brains, no good motherfucking son-of-a-bitch cocksucker.

He tried to plead his case to his superiors. My friend expressed his concern to them that without such words and phrases his intentions would be misinterpreted. He explained that he would be hard pressed to find alternative ways to express himself. The integrity of his emotions and his true feelings could not be completely or properly expressed without such words and phrases.

He refused restraint.

His superiors told him “Tough shit.” And that is why he called me. So I gave him this piece of advice, I told him “Why the fuck do you care what they fucking think? If they find what you say to be offensive tell them to fucking ignore you.”

My friend quietly contemplated my advice and then said “Fuck yeah, that’s what I’m gonna do.”

He has since lost his job, but he sure is a happy little motherfucker!

p.s. I agree repetition may be in order.

Sissy.

Anyways Mayo, you know what my favorite one is? "Assheaded rodeo clown." My other best ones are "pelvis-climbing whorebag," "cum-guzzling guttersnipe," and "lech-hearted hose-hound."

Sorry Mom. But you know you think that's funny, too.

I know she didn't agree with it just because it was Mayo who said it. She wouldn't do that. She did encourage that kind of "talk" at her workplace.

Right so her and her friends can call each other a whorebag but when Wendy or Amy calls her a cunt somehow that is wrong.

OK, HYPOCRITE.

Anonymous said...

Also if you read her journal she has NO problem calling the man she used to work for who fired her, DR DICKWEED.

First she blames her dog's illness on him and then when she finds out that it is NOT his fault and the dog is a freak, she does not take back what she said about him.

HYPOCRITE.

Mayo

Good to see you today. I’m still thinking on your words. Don’t know why but something in them is really making me think. Wow, making me think, that’s a good sign - I think. For a long time now I’ve sorta had my brain turned off. Too much to deal with truthfully. I think it’s kind of a self preservation thing with me. I can only deal with so much at a time.

Anyway, I see you’re still on vacation. That’s good I think. Hope you enjoyed the ball of twine. Fred is going to do an artists rendition as soon as she gets time. So are you wondering about your next destination? Sure you are. How about visiting Big Dick’s Halfway Inn? It is in Gravois Mills, Mo. I figured since you’re in Kansas that traveling to Missouri won’t tire you out too much. It’s at the Lake of the Ozarks, which is really a beautiful place. Getting to Big Dick’s is half the fun. Along the way a fence is decorated with hundreds of old tennis shoes, some of which even match. No one knows how this really started but it is still growing. Maybe you’d like to add a shoe to the fence? Seriously this is a real place and notice how I haven’t even made one little comment about the name? I’ve very proud of myself. Of course you’ll want to pick up some souvenirs. Really how could you pass up a tee that says “I love Big Dick’s” Once again Elena is refraining herself from making a comment.

So head on down to Big Dick’s. (snicker) Kick back and take in the sights. Maybe do a bit more fishing. But whatever you do just enjoy yourself. It is a vacation after all

Well I gotta go. I watched the first “Riddick” movie. I really liked it and so tonight I’m gonna watch the next one. Not sure why I’d never watched these before but I’m glad I’m doing it now. Only thing is it means I won’t be here to talk with my friends tonight. That always makes me sad. You know my heart is here, Mayo. Has been for a long time. Guess I had to park it somewhere for safe keeping. And I’m glad I did.

Take care

Night Mayo

Upon the edge was all

Still talking about Kapunua. You want her to leave but you talk about her all the time. I think you ♥ her.

Anonymous said...

Thank you anon. It's like she is right here with us. Thanks for keeping her memory alive. BTW can i call you Kapunua since you know everything about her?

Anonymous said...

No, that would be an insult to me. I do not like her but I hate hypocrisy. Why is it OK for other people to use those words and her friends to call each other whorebag but when someone else calls her a cunt or any other name all of a sudden that is a bad thing? And she is STILL going after the old boss.

Anonymous said...

If you don't like her i wouldn't worry about it.

Anonymous said...

I think some of you are lusting after Amy. She's driving you mad with desire. That's why you keep bringing up "The Fix" and her using the "c" word and saying bitch.
You want her. You want her to fix YOU and fix you good. Doncha anon. You're sweating right now just thinking about Amy's Fix.

Get over it. Not gonna happen. Move on. If you do I will.

Anonymous said...

I didn't say that i didn't like Amy. What, can people not like Kapunua and Amy?

Anonymous said...

There is no LUST just respect. I respect Amy for speaking her mind. So what if she used "bad" words. So what!

Anonymous said...

10:00 and 10:01 you have every right to like Amy. I like her too.

It's 8:56 and 9:16 that concern me. I think they're obsessed with having Amy "Fix" them. They talk about her and that fix so much. They're obsessed. Obsessed i tell ya.

Anonymous said...

Can we talk about Entropy now? I want to be obsessed with her. How can we get her to come back so I can begin my obsession?

More like YOU were worried it would fall apart without Kapu and her crew.

Nope. I can't say that I was worried about that. This blog was made up of more than 4 or 5 people. You only see the value in those 4 or 5. I see value in many of the people here and ones who've left. Not just one group.

it's very good to have a new poem from you. i'm glad you took the plunge. that's what life is about.

hello ergo. :)

what's turkish bread?

ergoproxy said...

hi fasc and thanks, but I do have the benefit of it being daytime while I am here on the blog, I am not a night person, so it really is time zones
but I love catching you when you do make it to buzz by.
and the stirring is the most disappointing and annyoying thing regardless of who it is directed at, I still wonder about it's purpose, but no one ever speaks to that question so we may never know

ergoproxy said...

it's like a flattish bread with quite distict air pockets, called Pide

hello!

how are you?

ergoproxy said...

and hey Mayo, just wondering too, if the hand you grasped was with yourself all along

toujours said...

ooh, sounds like an interesting bread, ergo. yum!

i'm doing okay. how are you?

ergoproxy said...

good thanks, got the day off apart from titoring and he's lovely so all in all a good day, and I am planning the next 3 nights meals

toujours said...

planning meals can be lots of fun...i used to go on new recipe kicks every once in a while.

ergoproxy said...

I always get it walking in the supermarket, I see something and think...ooh I can do that!
today the smoked salmon was on clearance as it's near it's use by and the prawns were on sale and I don't need many, it's kind of a dish I had at a restaurant, I made it at home once already, but today I'm adding the cheese and prawns too

toujours said...

the oven-roasted herbed tomatoes sound particularly delish, but i don't think i've ever heard of that cheese.

Original Punk J said...

Hey girls! What's the scoop?

ergoproxy said...

hello J!!

Tj haloumi is an odd cheese you don't eat it raw, it's kind of a salty plasticy texture, sort of, like it squeaks on your teeth kind of, and you slice it and fry it to golden on each side. It doesn't melt it goes crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
it is very very nice in salads with olives and tomato and such

toujours said...

mint chocolate chip?

butter brickle?

pistachio?

ergoproxy said...

forgot to say it's from Cyprus

i'll google a pic foryou

toujours said...

squeaky, huh? like the way cottage cheese does? sounds like a little adventure!

Original Punk J said...

MMM, ice cream. That would be good right now, it was 80 degrees today!

L requests soycream, butter pecan, and I'd like some...peach, I think.

Yummy.

Original Punk J said...

Is the haloumi in the same category as parmesan?

And does the squeak mean it comes with its own mouse?

Anonymous said...

Hey guys

ergoproxy said...

it's sheep milk I think, but they mix it with cows milk, it's cheaper to buy than pure milk ones

what have you been up to J?

I got a silver jump ring so I can wear Albert on my chain

TJ J and L found a glass charm which is blue like Albert the butterfly, I got it in the mail yesterday :]

your ice cream, milady j., and a scoop for milady l., as well.

hi BC how was school?

it'd be an annoyed wet mouse J, they keep haloumi in brine, perhaps a Jacques Cousteau of mice?

toujours said...

hi there bc. :)

that was very thoughtful of them, ergo. blue charms are good luck, as well.

ergoproxy said...

excuse me Miss Ice Cream Lady?
Can I have some butterscotch flavour please?

Original Punk J said...

Oh, I'm so glad you're able to wear it, Ergo! L looked especially for a butterfly charm, so when she found the blue one with the little crystals, she thought that would be perfect for you.

Thank you very much, Ice Cream Lady TJ. Yum yum yum!

toujours said...

i once did a research project on bronze age greece (including meal plans), ergo -- that cheese sounds like it's a very traditional one.

Original Punk J said...

BC! I missed you there! Sorry, hon. *hugs* You had school today?

Ergo, L wanted me to ask if you've ever grilled tofu to put in salads? TJ, I guess you could answer this one, too, since you're into tofu and such.

Anonymous said...

Hiya TJ, ergo, J. Ergo, school was okay. It was a wet morning and afternoon. I have a test on Thursday, and I start vacation next week. Woo.

I'm getting my hair dyed as well.

toujours said...

*does wonder woman spin into uniform*

*has a waffle cone brimming with butterscotch in hand*

and there you are, milady ergo.

Anonymous said...

10:08, you were a long way back but you made me LOL.

toujours said...

i've only had fried tofu a few times, j. -- always in a vegetarian general tso's chicken. it was good.

bc, what color are you dying your hair?

ergoproxy said...

I think it is Tj if you ever get the chance try it, I suppose it tastes like feta but the texture is really unique and being able to have it hot makes a great addition to a salad

I shall wear it with pride J, might even wear it tomorrow.
Tj thanks for the blue charm info, that makes it triple special now!
(btw TJ can you email me an address for you now? I had something to send over and want to check I'm up to date)

toujours said...

it sounds like it would be, ergo. i'm going to keep my eye out for it -- but have little hope of finding an exotic cheese anywhere near me for now. *sigh*

:)

blue charms are also considered to be protective, ergo.

and now i'll go email you my address!

Ok, TJ, thanks! And the info about blue charms is really cool, I didn't know that.

Wet mouse, Ergo. HA! Good visual.

What's your test in, BC?

ergoproxy said...

tell L I haven't cooked with tofu at all. J. It's never grabbed me, though I have had it eating out. I like the marinated stuff, or with a strong sauce, I think it's taste and texture alone doesn't really appeal to me.
(the hard stuff, not silken)
I should try it though, I ahve recipes that look nice
*makes mental note to try cooking tofu*

Hey carrie. J, it's going to be on the Middle East.

TJ, I'll probably dye it a chestnut brown or something. A color that can compliment my light olive skin. I'm tired of black already.

ergoproxy said...

LOl carrie, so no cover shots just at the moment?
glad you didn't suffer too much

Original Punk J said...

Hey Carrie!

Ergo, I read L what you wrote about the tofu. She says since she still owes you some recipes, she'll send some tofu ones too. There's apparently a really good tofu and ginger sauce one that she likes.

ergoproxy said...

the Used did carrie? wow
I really love Tom Jones version of that

thanks Tj thought it might be the same but better to check

ergoproxy said...

oh awesome J. let L know I'll look forward to them :]

that will look pretty, bc. :)

Original Punk J said...

BC, maybe a honey-brown would look good, or even a dark auburn? Whatever you choose, please post a picture when it's done. Or email one. I'm anxious to see it!

Ladies, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to head out. Enjoy your day/night/whatever, and sleep well! Goodnight.

Mayo, from your poem, it seems that you found inner strength that you didn't know you had--until you remembered what someone had told you. See, you CAN trust in yourself to face things head-on. Goodnight.

mayo,

reading your poem, i was reminded of the way i think about doing new things. for me, it's always like jumping off a cliff. you don't know where or how you will land, but jumping is necessary. a leap of faith, you know?

but this line:
So, I went under
And swallowed
The surge.

it tells me that it was more than just a jump that you took. there was no protective holding of your breath, you not only jumped but also opened yourself up to being engulfed.

very bravely done, mayo, and clearly, the reward was great.

i'm alone right now. the only friends i have are here. there is no one reaching out to hold my hand, and that's alright. maybe someday i'll take the plunge again, too.

but reading this poem reminds me what it felt like when i first met my ex, those days in college when we became each other's world. such a good feeling.

i'm so glad you have that feeling, mayo.

this poem truly makes me smile.

good night, mayo. sweet dreams.
