Your obituary won't mention you have a huge house and a plasma t.v.

My Grandma used to say "You only get so many words when you're born and once you've used them up...that's it."

She said the same thing about steps too.

"Once they're gone you don't get anymore."

Words and steps, I think she meant that they are the measure of a life.

She was a cool lady.

p.s. and in those last few moments they won't occur to you either.

I used to have a whooshing sound, and also a pulsing sound in my ear. i later was admitted to hospital and found out it was serious. can you get to a doctor about it? are you american?

Anonymous said...

yes, i can still hear other sounds besides the whoooshing.

Amyranth said...

you kwo what they say amy, a spoonful of chilli makes the medicine go down :)

In my house it makes it come shootin out the other end too.

He makes chili with every available pepper in the city. Thai, Jalapeno, Habanero, Serrano... if it's got heat, it's in there. I can't even go NEAR it.

Well that's good, it means that your eardrum is intact. You could have tinnitus, esp. if you've been to concerts or something, or you could have an infection or a buildup. Don't go sticking anything in there! You should maybe have a doc look at it, make sure there's nothing else going on, huh?

Anonymous said...

serious? can i just have wax or water in my ear? i can't afford serious right now.
what was it, Fimble Star?

Amyranth said...

Anon, does it pop or bubble, or does it feel like anything is draining into your throat? There'd be a tickling feeling in your throat, from your earlobe down.

Also, do you have any allergies?

anon, sorry i cant do linky things.

maybe this will help, i havent used this website but if you search online doctor, then maybe you will get to a site that may help tell you whats wrong. ergo is very good with medical things though, maybe you could leave a comment for her?

amy, i hate chilie i cant eat it and i hate hot things. give me a nice lasagne or a nice pasta dish :)

Anonymous said...

thank you all for the advice. i will see a doctor next week if the whoooshing does not stop.
thank you & good nite.

i am sorry anon, i didnt mean to make you panic or anything, i am sorry. I wont say it on here but mine was very rare so i doubt you have it. i had other syptoms.

i really think it may be just liek you said, but seriosuly check out the onlien things.

Anonymous said...

It could be water, like if you've been swimming or have gotten water into your ear, but it would be trapped behind wax to be making that noise. Stick some peroxide in there perhaps? Dont's ue me if you go deaf, I am not a doctor! I just play one on the internet.*

Fimble, my mom makes a really good chili, it barely has any heat. I think all she adds is basic black pepper. Mister, though, he's a man out to kill himself I think.

I prefer savoury dishes myself, I can't eat pasta as much as I used to though, which blows. I make a deadly Chicken Cacciatore.

see, this is were i am whacked. i dont like chicken unless it is a chicken leg. how crazy.

My favourite dish would be pasta but sometimes i can get bored with it.

Oh and i am lovin sandwhiches for some strange reason at the moment. madness. and cheerios, god i could eat those all day.

Cheerios!! Man, I buy them by the box and just eat them dry!

I'm on a real cereal kick though. I've got Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honeycomb and Sugar Crisp in my cupboard.

And chicken leg? You don't eat chicken breast? Well.. maybe I'm the oddball then, because I hate eating chicken that hasn't been deboned.

hello. question, question please.
ringtones, which song is better for a phone ringtone?
1) AFI-Miss Murder
2) green Day-Brain Stew
3) The Clash-Should I stay or go
4) Smashing Pumpkins-Bullet w/Butterfly wings

Opinions anyone? appreciate it. thanks

Anonymous said...

Bullet, for sure.

no, the mantis one is halfway done. she's very cute so far! :)

maybe it's just my computer then, but the space where ecto-tj was is just a black box with a little red x.

love cheerios except I cheat and put some sugar on it. I know, I'm bad

toujours said...

anon, i think the afi one would make a good ringtone, too.

Amyranth said...

Anon, to me it would depend on what part of the song they use. I have "House of Wolves" as my ringtone for work because it picks up at the chorus, my favorite.

Hmm.. If it picks up at:

1) AFI-Miss Murder - Chorus
2) green Day-Brain Stew - Opening
3) The Clash-Should I stay or go - Chorus
4) Smashing Pumpkins-Bullet w/Butterfly wings - Opening or Chorus.

But my list would go: AFI, Pumpkins, Green Day, The Clash.

I know this question wasn't for me. ;) But I thought it interesting. I sleep with a little light, never pitch black. I have white curtians so a little light peeks in. Oh, and I have to have some kind of noise, otherwise my ears buzz. A fan solves it!

hello j. :)

things aren't too bad here. itchy to get back on the road, but otherwise... *grin*

how are you? and is l. feeling better?

Original Punk J said...

I'm not too bad tonight, TJ. My ankle's been pretty swollen last night and today, but I've been on it a lot this week.

Hmm, wonder why. ;)

Anyway, L is feeling tons better. She started her antibiotics yesterday, and has been able to eat REAL FOOD today! Nothing like, say, pizza or steak or whatever, but sandwiches and pretzels. She's on 2 different a/b's, and one of them is super-strong, should get good results.

Amyranth said...

How's it going Anima?

Hiya J! How's L?

-A

oh, that's very good to hear about l.!

i used to have a problem with my ankles -- i'd do something stupid, and strain it, and then it would take a long time to fully heal. i was always wearing an ace bandage back in college. not fun. :(

so i hope your ankle strengthens up quickly!

TJ, mine's kind of the same. It't the one that was twisted during a wreck I had many years ago, and I've turned it a few times. If I keep it elevated, the swelling decreases, so that's what I've been trying to do tonight.

Hey Amy! You ok? *hugs* And did you escape the chili chasing you earlier?

Number one: you squeaked twice while Dinah was washing your face this morning. Now you can't deny it, Kitty: I heard you! What that you say?' (pretending that the kitten was speaking.) `Her paw went into your eye? Well, that's your fault, for keeping your eyes open -- if you'd shut them tight up, it wouldn't have happened. Now don't make any more excuses, but listen! Number two: you pulled Snowdrop away by the tail just as I had put down the saucer of milk before her! What, you were thirsty, were you? How do you know she wasn't thirsty too? Now for number three: you unwound every bit of the worsted while I wasn't looking!

Speaking of Lewis Carroll and Alice In Wonderland, that stuff always was a little strange to me.
From what I remember Alice was a real girl, and Lewis Carroll wanted
to win her attention so he wrote these stories for her. Anyways, they always
were accusing him being a pedophile. That kind of ruined Alice In Wonderland for me, Lol, I was only about ten when I found that out.

OH OH OH! Did any of y'all watch the video by Reggie and the Full Effect? It's really good, funny too. Frank did a wonderful job as Frankenstein, and James is a great singer. And a great Mummy as well. ;)

hi J and ergo.

Amyranth, I picked my name because it has a cool history behind it. When Ben Franklin was about 15 or 16 he wanted to write for a newspaper but they didn't believe he was a good enough writer. so he wrote a series of letters to the newspaper pretending to be a middle-aged widow under a pseudonym Silence DoGood. Everybody believed it and he even got gifts and suitors asking to marry Silence DoGood.

For some reason that always stuck in my mind. I remember when i was a kid since my mom was a poet, whenever I wrote something good they always assumed it was my mother who wrote it. I never got credit for anything.

:O How'd you swell your ankle J?! (and I'm not sure if unswelling is a word, but it is now!)

I'm glad you and L are doing good! It makes me happy to hear that she's recovering! ^_^

And Saturday, is my guitar lessons, (which were canceled last week), and my friends birthday. We're having a little party to celebrate her sweet 16. ^_^

Speaking of sweet sixteen's, NINETEEN DAYS TILL MINE! (mark your calenders, August 27th is the day to remember)

*grins at Ergo*

Anon, I don't know why they haven't done it yet! Or maybe they had, it was awful, & I just thought I hit on something good.

lost my connection for a bit. :/

1:15, i'll head over there next to see what you said.

ergo, as long as the kids don't know that you're pretending, it should work out all right! :)

silence, that's a wonderful story behind your name. i stumbled into mine, and yet, it has turned out to hold great meaning for me. names are important.

Nobody said...

thanks ergo, how are you?

Nobody said...

hello toujours and yeah I agree, sometimes when I am bored I'll write stories and I always try to make sure the characters names mean something.

ergoproxy said...

thanks anon

Amyranth said...

Silence, that is an interesting little story! I had no idea there was such a history!

Mine's a re-spelling of a plant name.

Yeap. That's it.

pusa/bad religion fan, thanks for your answer! i'm starting to get psyched for the show!

hm.

i suppose this means i need to buy a ticket?

lol

That's interesting Amy. Ergo, if you don't mind me asking, how did you select yours?

Amyranth said...

That reminds me, I need to check around and see who else might be coming to town soon...

Original Punk J said...

Anon, thank you for making a real link! Mine wouldn't work.

PH, guitar lessons, cool. How's your progress? And yeah, I have your, Ergo's, and Wendy's all written down so I won't forget!

SD (do you mind if I call you that, or what would you prefer?), that's a great story. And fitting, from what you say about your mom and you. :) Ben was a pretty nifty guy. From what I hear. Never met the guy...hey, I'm older, but not THAT old! heeheehee

toujours said...

silence, have you ever read "the wizard of earthsea"?

in the first volume, ged learns all about the power of names. i read that trilogy so many times when i was younger (and now), and it made a big impact on me, and how i looked at magic, and the power behind the words we use.

Hello everyone

toujours said...

hello, elena. :)

how's everything?

JocelynHolly said...

J, it's coming along so much better right now because I've been practicing waaay more and doing more scales.

SD, I like the meaning behind your name. It reminds me of that Nicolas Cage movie, National Treasure!

Original Punk J said...

Hey Elena, how're you doing? Did you get my message? It was a couple hours ago.

JocelynHolly said...

Hey Elena!

(PH is leaving soon since she has to get up early.)

Nobody said...

J, you can call me whatever you want. SD is fine.

No I haven't Toujours, but I just looked it up and it sounds interesting. I love fantasy novels.

Hi Elena =)

Nobody said...

someone mentioned that movie before paperheartxx. Good night =)

elena said...

Sorry J

My phone must not be working again. I'm not showing any missed calls.

toujours said...

i highly recommend it, silence! (but not the sci-fi channel movie. stay aawwaaaaaaay from the movie. even ursula k. leguin hated it. *grin*)

i hope you enjoy it. :)

ergoproxy said...

I'm good thanks SD

TJ I was once told by an experienced teacher "don't smile until Easter"
I never waited that long, but you have to make sure they know you're in charge before you can be friendlier, some classes would take a lot longer than others!

JocelynHolly said...

Haha, not gone yet. I got pulled into a group chat to talk about the party plans.

Original Punk J said...

It's ok, Elena, was just gonna catch up over the day. We can do that tomorrow. Good day? Bad day? Ours was better, thank you Lord.

TJ, where DID your name come from? I mean, how did you choose it?

Amyranth said...

Augh, I gotta go soon too... I have to get up early to see the Doc. :P

The REAL Doc.

toujours said...

"don't smile until easter" lol

but i suppose it depends on the age group as well, doesn't it? older kids less trusting, vice versa...?

Nobody said...

Don't worry Toujours, sci-fi channel movies can really suck sometimes.

elena said...

Glad to hear you had a better day J

Night Amy

Doctor, Amy? Anything, um, amiss?

Ergo, I suspect a smack upside the head would intimate you mean business. *coughjokingcough*

j., do you remember when discuss mayo was made? at the time there were a few of us who were still anons -- i remember mustard was one, and someone else -- and we were all anonsomething, a word or number.

i was "anontoujours", partially because it was the first word i thought of to tack onto "anon". a random choice.

and then you had to have an account to comment at discuss mayo those first few days, so that's when i made my account, and dropped the "anon".

but since then, i've come to feel that "toujours" has come to truly represent me on many levels.

funny, huh. maybe it wasn't that random. :)

Original Punk J said...

BC, how did YOU choose your username? I've always wondered.

ergoproxy said...

sorry anon I missed your question

at the time the blog began I was watching Ergo Proxy on TV here and seeing as I liked it so much I decided to use the name.
Plus I like the way it sounds

ergoproxy said...

OH YAY FOR ME!!!

and I didn't even notice :)

toujours said...

ergo, how do yu do that? did you always sit at the front of the class when you were in school?
first in line at the movies? should i make sure to bring you to all my concerts so we can get barrier?

:D

Original Punk J said...

Good story, TJ. I think the other anon was Anima, wasn't she? Anon30?

Ergo, I don't think I know that show, but I do remember you telling us before about the name. Wasn't it an anime?

JocelynHolly said...

OH BC's name was from Angel, or Buffy or a video game, right?

If I'm wrong, I'm sorry!

Amyranth said...

*yawns* Nothing serious J, gotta get a prescription renewed for my Anti-Baby meds, it's just the getting my lazy ass out of bed early that's gonna be hard.

-A

Anonymous said...

That's ok, ergo.

Your name seems to suit you, at least the way I read you. Or maybe it's just become synonymous with you :)

JocelynHolly said...

Thanks for reminding me Amy! I need to go renew my prescription too! My BC pills aren't for that though, it's because I had serious cramps and irregular periods.
