When you least expect it.

I am precipitant, and temptation proffers madness. I can’t resist. I love the fucking rush of blood to my head, my heart hammering my ears. The rhythm and intensity set me to cruise. I am making decisions just moments before the situation even presents itself. And it all works out.

With your assault on my senses still pushing adrenaline through my veins, I decided to give myself a brief respite from self-induced ubiquity. I righted myself before you…almost completely relieved of the obscurity that may have impaired your perception (I am absurd). I focused my energy inward and provided you with a unique, cogent vision...handed to you in haste.

Without contrast.

For just a moment I tethered myself to you. In the dark and held captive by brick and chain link, you held the truth in the palm of your hand. While I stood, waiting for the fucking bomb to drop. I wanted to pull you aside, then. I wanted to tell you, whisper it in your ear. I wanted you to see me. Register my words with my voice. But, translation was lost in my subtle introduction, and I know I caught you off guard. My strength diminished, I walked away with the truth in my fist, my secret under a floodlight.

With you.

I admit that you may not know, but I need you to know. I need for you to know.

After all of that, and even if misunderstood, I have to say that your presence is appreciated…and I must admit often anticipated. But, it was never my intention to lead you. I hope I have not caused you concern, and I must ask, are you angry? Are you angry with me? If you need reassurance, if you question my intent, I could tell you again.

My friend, all you need to do is ask.

p.s. and even then I am amazed.

It's also used for duvet covers. Essentially, anything that contains feathers for bedding is made out of some grade of ticking. The higher the thread count, the less chance there is of feathers poking through.

Egypian cotton, a very high quality cotton, has a thread count of 300-350.

toujours said...

Anonymous said...

Anon at 6:13, I disagree. Mayo has made it clear before that he is drawn to people who think that they are dull and have little to offer. It is for the people here like Elena, Toujours and others like them who are humble and sweet and don't think they have much to say. He is disillusioned with the people who think they are so incredibly talented. I think he was fascinted by that sort of person in the beginning of the blog but can now see that this was a mistake.

Hint hint, Mayo is probably going to post tonight. He will probably stay and talk if "certain people" don't come barging in as SOON as he posts and start spamming him with comments and questions and "OH MAYO LOOK AT ME CAN YOU SEE ME PLEASE TALK TO ME" comments.

Mayo will never SAY "please stop asking me quesitons I don't want to talk to you" because he is way too nice. But if you watch the pattern of who is on when he stays to talk and who isn't then you know for sure. And I have watched the pattern.

gnothi seauton said...

Bye Ergo, thank you for your words :)

I once had a bed set that cost over £100 about 20 years ago. Worth the money though. I've only just thrown the duvet cover.

I paid about $120 for my duvet cover (it was on sale). But seeing as I paid a goodly amount for the duvet, I wanted a quality cover to cover to go with it. I've not been disappointed with it.

toujours said...

i have a fabric question for you, resurrected wreck.

how come i can't find handkerchief linen anywhere? does it have a different name now?

resurrected wreck said...

Handkerchief linen?

It's available for purchase online, I know that. I can't say that I've ever worked in a fabric store that carried it. Maybe it's known by another name (batiste comes to mind but that's cotton, not linen). Some of the finer fabric stores may carry it, but probably the run-of-the-mill shops do not.

Anonymous said...

But he USE to talk to her..... All the time. Then she got carried away with him and he saw that the people who think they are dull and have little to offer, are the really good people here. How many times has Mayo talked of quiet voices, silence, and people with little confidence? He prefers them. Watch the pattern.

gnothi seauton said...

And I'm hurt that they aren't paying more attention to my fabric tutorial. I mean, I went to school to learn this stuff. Show a bit of enthusiasm, why don't you!
