I suggest going to the venue a little early than 6pm because sometimes the doors will open at around 5, or if you want to beat traffic.
and I also recommend wearing tennis shoes; your feet and legs might be very sore if you're going in the GA, no seats section. If you're heading in the pit area, or anything else, bring lots of water.

NJ anon, I have visited Jersey before, but actually the southern part of it, where Cherry Hill is. Fortunately, I smelled no shitty ass gas or oil air there.
It's bad enough there's companies like that here, even though I now live in a nicer and cleaner part, but Cherry Hill was nice, and I had some of the best sleep while staying there.

well who would ever have thought when this began that people would actually become friends from meeting on a blog. I really wonder how often stuff like this happens and succeeds! I have another friend of more than a year now, I met online, and though we've never met for real I value her greatly, now I have some more to add to my friend count, thanks.
Do you have friends like that? That somehow you just connect with even though you may never othrwise have met? I hope you do, as well as real physical friends, they are important too.

i have learned to follow my fear. my fear is my guide to where my passion lies, and though it isn't always easy, i gather my breath full within me, and follow.
you taught me this, mayo. if i am able to forge my life anew, in the shape that i desire, it will be another achievement i will lay at your feet.
and i can only go forward because i know i carry my friends with me in my heart. no fear can stand up to the strength that gives me.

Hi everyone, my power pack just literally exploded so I want to say Hi and bye for now.
I shall share this with you and say that I will get back to you when I get a new paower pack.
Last night I went to see Good Charlotte at the Sheffield Carling Academy. This venue is newly acquired by the Carling group as it used to be the tacky Roxy's nightclub. It was the kind of nightclub where girls danced round handbags and wore black tights with white stilettos. Yuck.
Good Charlotte were fantastic. I have seen them about 4 times now and they have a great rapport with the crowd. For Americans, they have a very British sense of humour. What I love about them is that they do their homework about places, they know about regional rivalries and football teams. They kept teasing us by pretending that they thought they were in Manchester.
It was the last night of the tour so it was very relaxed and they did a lot of chatting and took requests for songs. The support act was Rooney. They were very good but not my kind of music. They sounded very ELO at times and I'm not into grandad music ha ha ha ha!
Paris Hilton was sat at the side of the stage for part of the show. Shock horror, she was actually fully clothed in trousers a t-shirt and a jacket.
It was a great evening and when I got home I had a lovely cheese and tomato toastie before heading off to bed.

So here's what happened today.
First, I had a long phone call with my cousin SB. He's coming down from college this weekend, he wants to bring Rock Band and chill. "Old school," he said to me, "the way we used to when I was little. I've been thinking about that a lot, when I used to spend the weekend with you and we'd play video games all night."
"Do you want to stay the weekend?" I asked him.
"No, I was just thinking about how much fun it was when I was little."
LOL, goddamn teens. He's my heart though, and he's a really good boy. He said that Jo-Chan would probably stay the weekend though, and that means good times ahead. The best weekends are when Jo-chan comes to stay. Especially in the summer when it's just swimming during the day and movies and ice cream at night. What is awesome about this beautiful girl is how she expresses herself. At 15 (almost 16 now) she's unlike any other kid, and she doesn't want to be. Most teenagers say that, but still want to fit in. She means every word she says.
Then SB and I started talking about Muse, because he's been talking them up since the summertime, and he was so excited that I was listening to them. he said that his band has been covering their songs for years, and when he comes home for the summer, they're going to do a show in June and they're covering Stockholm Syndrome. Can I tell you how excited I am for them? His band is awesome, too; he plays bass. He's not one of those "plonk plonk plonk" bassists; he is a real musician.
After that I made some calls to some colleges re: teaching certificates. At my alma mater, no one picked up and there was no answering machine or voice mail. O_O O-kayyy. I called three more places. One might actually have the program, but no one answered and I left a message. The other, I spoke to a guy who had never heard of any alternate route transitional courses in education certificates and said, "Well you have your BA and you want to teach, so just come on down and get your master's; it's two years if you go full time." He made it sound like I would just pop down for a cup of tea, ladeeda, two years, Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt, get my MA, no worries! Like I can just go back to school full time, you know, not work and all of that stuff.
I ask you!
The third place I called, I spoke to a lady who informed me that the test I'd thought I had to take in order to begin the process hasn't been valid for ten years.
Well, I put it out there. I'm just waiting for some call-backs and we'll see what comes up. No use in worrying about it until someone gives me some information, right? Right!

it was scary, a bit -- especially when he accelerated the first time and i realised i wasn't wearing a helmet or anything, and i was just hanging on the the laces of his leather jacket -- falling off seemed so incredibly easy, you know?
but that was just a brief fluttering thought, and then it was gone, and it was all smiles and wind in my hair and the very strange feeling that sitting on the back of that bike was normal. as if i had done it before.
as if i will have one of my own.
i guess i just have to learn how to drive, huh? *grin*
My brother took me out on his bike a few times when I was a teenager. I remember that it was awesome. ^_^
