I am fueled by provocation, currently deliberating my constitution.

The witness having brought to light new evidence, the accused pleads guilty on all charges pending. The defendant has been bound over for sentencing.

Btw, Star, I loved your story. Sorry I didn't say that earlier.

oh should have added I just hate that it became so stupidly popular because of good marketing as opposed to fantastic literary merit.

People act like they've never seen a book before that one (and I feel the same about HP)
Not the quality of the book, just the ridiculous hype surrounding them

Kapunua, probably, but in all honestly, religion is not a big part of my life so really, whatever people believe in, that's great for them, but it is an interesting topic I must say.

When I read Gilgamesh I freaked out that there was a flood story a million years before the Noah's Ark one that I was told was 100% true.

In, 7th grade I was taught that Adam and Eve was just a story to teach how sin came into the world. My first thought was that it as pretty messed up that now the story wasn't really true, and it disturbed me that Eve, a woman, brought sin into the world. That's a great message, huh. But, I guess if we look at Pandora, it's the same idea, right?
Although, Pandora let out hope, too, whereas Eve made us have to have cramps every month.

But, let's not get me started on Catholicism warped me! We'd be here forever.

Sdock, it makes me smile that you liked my bike story.

Later I kicked the ten speed and used my brother's self-engineered free-style bike. It was a million times more fun. It even had pegs on the front and back. I could bounce on the back tire and I'm sure I looked like an idiot doing it. Ahhh, Good times.

I wonder how many bikes Mayo has had. That is a really good question Bike Anon.

Okay, everyone put down how many bikes (real bikes/not sex partners - OH, I wonder if there is correlation there?) Okay, do it in a fraction. Bikes first then partners.

Do you want to hear my theory on the after life?

I believe that when our bodies die, we live on without them. I believe that there are many other dimensions that we can't see and that spirits live there.

I believe that our spirit can't die when our bodies do because we are full of electricity and that doesn't die, it has to be used up or it jumps to the next available carrier.

I believe our souls (electricity) lives on in another dimension. I believe the dead are all around us as we speak but we can't see them because of the dimension thing. Dogs only see in two dimensions but we know there are more cos we see. I believe that we are all like little Tv ariels with this electricity and sometimes when the atmospherics are right we do see the dead.

And here is the daft part.

I thought to myself one day, yes but the electricity won't last for ever. How do souls live on when the electricity runs out.

I think the dead souls are re-energised in electrical storms. that's how we live forever.

I believe in the future scientists will discover how to make it so that we can see the dead.

Go on, you can laugh now.

Dogma was really cool, Matt Damon was like the best angel in that. ^_^

WAKING LIFE! That's the movie I'm thinking of, Fimble Star. Waking Life, which is a beautiful philosophical piece. And this is the quote on reincarnation that I was thinking of:

Just about reincarnation and where all the new souls come from over time. Everybody always say that they've been the reincarnation of Cleopatra or Alexander the Great. I always want to tell them they were probably some dumb fuck like everybody else. I mean, it's impossible. Think about it. The world population has doubled in the past 40 years, right? So if you really believe in that ego thing of one eternal soul, then you have only 50% chance of your soul being over 40. And for it to be over 150 years old, then it's only one out of six.

I just believe in my heart that it is real. I am not religious by any means. Don't claim to be. I don't try to force my views on anyone else, ya know?

I can also tell you that when I looked in my baby's bright blue eyes for the very first time,
it is all real. And if you ever want to ask someone and get an honest, unbiased opinion on something, ask a small child. They can educate you on some things.

I believe that you have to approach the thought of Jesus and salvation with the heart of a child. There isn't a whole lot there to see as proof but a child doesn't need any. And if you can cast away all the doubt and fear then you can have real faith.

It is also comforting to me to know that there are angels out there.

I know for sure there is one special little angel. Her name is Lauren. She has blonde hair and big blue eyes. That child had more faith and understanding in her short little life than I will ever be able to comprehend.

She was literally born with a complete understanding of Faith, Hope and Love.

It's okay, Jules. Like I said, everyone is entitled. ^_^

Different pietas:

The most famous and most beautiful.

Not a favorite but still relevent.

The Florence Pieta, Buonarroti. Like that one a lot. Both Marys in that one, in fact.

Bouguer's one. Really rick colors here, and that ugly chick on the right looks like me. Only thing I don't like is that the haloes look pasted on yay.

Southestern Pieta, Jiminez is almost like homosexual erotica. DO WANT.

Dead Christ and the Angels. No thanks. Jesus looks like he's already got rigor and the angel on the left looks exasperated and annoyed.

Thoughts?

As far as children, they're cute, and I've helped raise two of them who I'm getting to watch turn into beautiful, free-thinking people each with a grasp on their lives and their beliefs. But outside of that, I don't exalt children or think they're special or anything. To me they're just like little, well, people. ^_^ But then I'm a bitch, so.

No, the dead one is Jesus, hence it being included in the Pieta catagory. Just a feminine Jesus!

Elena said...

I haven't, but I'll tell you what. I don't care what anyone says, you don't have to give birth in order to have those "special feelings" that mothers have. So while I fully realize that the act of giving birth is intense, I also don't think it's any more life-changing than NOT giving birth and still raising a child.

And I'm sure that if I ever do give birth someday (which I probably will,) I'll still be the same person with the same beliefs.

So, not much to babble about tonight. I think you could use the peace and quiet, and I could use the time to think, so we'll leave it at that for now. You know I'll be back tomorrow with 7 pages worth of shit to spill.

May you rest easy, my friend.

Kapu you are VERY smart. But you're also VERY exhausting. You're charismatic...... but I pity people who have to live close to you when you get like this. I also pity Mikey and Frank.

Take that like you will.

elena said...

And I'm sure that if I ever do give birth someday (which I probably will,) I'll still be the same person with the same beliefs.

Maybe you will and maybe you won't. Unless you do you won't know for sure.

No more than I can close my eyes and say to a person who has been blind from birth that I know how they feel. I can't possibly know.

I'm not trying to start an argument. I didn't say I have any more "special" feeling towards children because I gave birth. What I pointed out was that unless you actually have a child of your own you can't really know what it is like. You can't know the feelings of joy and fear they bring into your life.

And on the subject of religion. I never discuss it. To me it's personal. I don't mind when people do, I just don't. But I feel I have one thing to say. Please get ready to laugh at me. I have no problem with it.

I have heard my Guardian Angel speak. Yep, sounds crazy but it's true.
My daughter was very sick and I took her to the ER. She had a high fever and the doctors started running tests. My husband was out of town and I was alone with her. As we waited for results she slept in the bed and I prayed. I was scared shitless. My prayer was simple. "Please let them find what's wrong. I just want it to be fixable. I just want to take her home."
Alone with my sleeping daughter I heard a voice in my ear say. "You will"
I knew then that I would be taking her home with me that day. Several hours later I did.

Oh and I in no way pictured the angel as "HOT".

Catch up with you all later.

The woman's nature with a manly scorn
And break away the gauds and armlets worn
By weaker women in captivity?
Ah, vain denial! that revolted cry
Is sobbed in by a woman's voice forlorn,
Thy woman's hair, my sister, all unshorn
Floats back dishevelled strength in agony
Disproving thy man's name: and while before
The world thou burnest in a poet-fire,
We see thy woman-heart beat evermore
Through the large flame. Beat purer, heart, and higher,
Till God unsex thee on the heavenly shore
Where unincarnate spirits purely aspire!

A WOMAN'S LAST WORD - Robert Browning

Let's contend no more, Love,
Strive nor weep:
All be as before, Love,
Only sleep!

What so wild as words are?
I and thou
In debate, as birds are,
Hawk on bough!

See the creature stalking
While we speak!
Hush and hide the talking,
Cheek on cheek!

What so false as truth is,
False to thee?
Where the serpent's tooth is
Shun the tree

Where the apple reddens
Never pry---
Lest we lose our Edens,
Eve and I.

Wow, GW seems a little dated to me now. It was, at one time, my favorite show like in the whole world. I was totally an adult at this time by the way, too. The animation now looks a little cheesy.

I still have a soft spot for Heero Yuy.

i also randomly just queued up my favorite episode: "Its Name Is Epyon." Gundaom fans, do you remember that one? Epyon was the Gundam that Treize invented, that showed the pilot his future. Heero got in it, started freaking out and killing everything in his path. "Anyone who fights is my enemy!" Heero's full-on freakage was the best part of the whole series for me. "My future... My death!" LOL.

See Mayo, now I'm back to picturing you like Heero Yuy, hiding your face behind your hand but still seeing everyone. Not sure who your enemy is and stuff.

Mayo, how do you see us? Not individually, but I mean do you ever visualize us as a group? Like, a bunch of girls hanging around in a cabana somewhere with sheep going by? Or something more whimsical? Or more prosaic? A bunch of girls in separate houses, sitting in front of the computer? Housewives, lovelies, angels, insects? How do you visualize us as a group?

Mayo, do you see how we try to engage you? Which would you rather discuss: your visualization of us, the eroticism of Jesus and other various messiahs, or something different? Bicycles, song lyrics, riddles?

/tangential again

Thanks Cupcake, I guess you're a rarity. ;)

loved Gundam Wing but I was more of a Duo Maxwell girl. My favorite gundams were Deathscythe and Shenlong.

Vivienne said...

The new sharpie.... I wrote a number on my hand with sharpie the other day...... woke up with it printed all over my face....

Deathscythe was actually my favorite Gundam, too. But I had Wing in the back of my car. ^_^ I liked Duo's character, but the American voice actor turned me off in the worst way.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I kinda liked the American actor.

Vivienne said...

You're welcome Kapunua! hug?

Shame in me! *hugs* how have ya been?

resurrected wreck said...

Be careful of Sharpies, Cupcake. You'll wake up married one day and not remember how it happened!

Anonymous said...

Oh my god, I hated him passionately. He voiced a few things back then and I thought he was horrible, so over the top. Made Duo sound like a stoned surfer half the time.

Now Mark Hildreth, who did Heero? Mmmmm. ^_^

I often picture us as sitting on Mayotopia Beach, sipping Pina Coladas, and having Mayo rub sunscreen on us.

Only not really ;)

I do think of us as a group though. This is never an individual effort. But, Kapunua, I think that was a very good question proposed to Mayo. Maybe he'll see fit to answer. I'd much rather know this over whether or not he dreams about us ;)

Mayo:
I've not had a lot to say to you, and I'm sorry. Sometimes I feel like you have shit figured out on your own before you even post. When I don't "hear" questions in your post, I sometimes don't answer. Just know I'm thinking about you, dude. I hope you have a really happy holiday and New Year. I hope you get everything you've ever longed for and, mostly, I hope you feel blessed.

I painted you a picture of our Family. Hang it up on your refridgerator?

*hands it to you*

You're a good dude, Mayo.

Hello hello shame in me how are you? Cupcake, thanks for the hug. Here's one for you and SIM, *hugs*

I see us at a house all gathered in the living room. Mayo is sitting in a dark corner just watching his hands folded and his chin sitting on his hands. SS is either upstairs somewhere or outside.

Vivienne said...

SIM we should have a party here!

I'll bring the mistletoe! ;)

Martha Smith-Jones said...

That's right Mayo did once before say something about a castle on a hill. It would be all dark and full of spider webs. He would sit on his throne with a shadow across his face just watching us. And SS would come running in trying to get mayo to come and play.

Should I be confused right now?

Does this "Zeitgheist Movie" have to do with the Smashing Pumpkins 'cause that record tanked big time.

Do I need to C&P that link and see where it takes me, or should I just sit here and nod along on beat?

Vivienne said...

MJ, perfect!

DO we get costumes too?

Anonymous said...

Zeitgeist, produced by Peter Joseph, was created as a nonprofit filmiac expression to
inspire people to start looking at the world from a more critical perspective and to understand that
very often things are not what the population at large think they are.

The film touches on some of the things being discussed earlier in relation to religion. Touches on other subjects as well, thought it would be of interest. I'm in no way saying I believe everything in the film but it is interesting none the less.

Martha Smith-Jones said...
